The Sony Ericsson Z780i is an attractive 3G clamshell opening mobile phone which focused on providing the user with high quality Internet, Web & connectivity features. The handset is compact & the clamshell opening system is easy to open in a single hand. The Z780i comes with an external monochrome screen which allows the user to view vital information without opening the handset. The external appearance of the Sony Ericsson Z780i is smooth & sleek which comes in two colour options which include an amethyst silver colour or a grand onyx coloured casing. The Z780i comes with a clear & bright internal screen which displays up to 262k colour on a 2.2 Inch TFT screen as it located on the inside of the flip open section of the casing. The keypad is located on the base of the handset & can be access when the user opens the clamshell casing. The keypad is etched into the surface of the phone for a smooth finish & each key is well spaced & individually stands out due to a coloured design around each key. The Sony Ericsson Z780i is a member of the Sony Ericsson Z range which includes the Sony Ericsson Z710i & the Sony Ericsson Z750i.

The overall size of the casing is compact & has a sturdy feel to it which measures 95mm tall by 48mm wide by 17mm deep when in its closed position & its total weight including the battery is 96 grams. The Sony Ericsson Z780i 3G phone comes with an aGPS system which is an assisted global positioning system & allows the user to view maps & get directions on their handset. The built in 3G HSDPA technology allows the user to use a 3G video calling feature, enjoy high speed Internet & messaging services on the Z780i. This compact clamshell phone comes with Bluetooth® wireless technology & a USB port which allows the user to connect to other devices using a wired or wireless connection. The user can connect the phone to their PC, laptop, PDA, other mobile phones or printer to exchange data & files. The Z780i works on a quad band network which covers four GSM networks & UMTS which allows the user to enjoy worldwide roaming with their new stylish phone. The phone comes with 35 megabytes of built in memory & with a memory card slot which allows the user to add a memory card to suit their storage needs. A rechargeable battery which comes with the phone allows the user to enjoy up to 350 hours of standby battery time.
