I have this phone for 17 months & it's OK. No problems, no repairing. Nothing! So far I have sent 40, 000 SMS & talked 87 hours, Impressive?

This phone is one of the best Sony Ericsson phones ever.

I've had this phone for over a year now & not one thing was wrong with it in that period of time, but I do fine the design of the phone is a bit boring & dull, the camera isn't bad but not good either, the music quality is brilliant it is clear yet loud so altogether I would say this phone was definitely worth buying.

A fantastic phone but possibly too many keys, so the smaller keys are harder to press. The camera is OK but not as good as you would expect from Sony. I am on my second one as the first kept shutting down & was replaced under warranty. Problem is this one now does the same so an extended warranty or insurance maybe a good idea. A very loud internal speaker good graphics. Easy to operate. On the whole I am very happy.

I was very pleased with the phone apart from rubbish camera.

I then had to send it back under warranty for a software problem. Phone came back repaired in 5 days. Impressive!

Five months later, the same software problem came back & sent phone off for repair.

Six weeks later I am still without a phone, having being told it is beyond repair & is to be replaced, Sony don't know when as they are out of stock.

I have had six weeks of corresponding with Sony via email & phone. Their customer services are dreadful & I won't purchase from them again.

Usability & features: Is easy to use the 'keyboard' & good menu & display (nice with two displays). What I miss though, is to be able to look the display when the phone is open. The physical look is only at help when the phone is closed. It is not enough to close the phone, because my kids steel the phone & open it & press numbers etc. Another thing is that the song from Sony Ericsson fabric that was in the phone originally, 'Greeting', play every time I unfortunately messages there are.

Design: Nice design, but still a bit thick to have in the pocket comfortably.

Totally I can recommend the phone as a robust & nice phone for daily use.

It's a good phone but it has a very bad camera but however it's a simple & easy phone to use. I don't really like the design but then again I don't really like any flip up phones. Has some good features like the music player. Overall 6 out of 10.

It's a great phone in general but after a few months I got very bored with it, seeing as I was on contract for another few months my parents were really annoyed! I am really unsure what phone to get next, due to the fact I want a phone I won't get bored of after a few months. The plastic cover tends to rip easily & I ended up sticking my hands together trying to fix it! (don't try sticking it together).

I've been using this phone for 5 months, a good phone, simple design, acceptable camera, great sound, good reception, easy to use, battery is good on normal use.

The only problem so far is the text screen turns blank if you use the FM radio tuner all night. The other thing is the speaker phone consumes much more power than using additional portable speaker. Mine got a MDS-60 portable speaker as a bonus. Use portable speaker or the hands-free to save power if you intend to use the phone as music player. Downloaded opera-mini for great browsing experience.

I am stuck to Sony Ericsson (previously Ericsson) phone for over 10 years. Definitely it is the best phone I have ever got:

- Full of features & fast
- EDGE connectivity

What I love best are outer controls for music playing, I got rid of my MP3 player at last. Only the design could be more attractive.

Mine has never gone wrong. Yes the camera is not so good & if you want a camera don't buy a phone! The extra piece on the back of the phone makes a nice finger rest when texting one handed, maybe ugly but functional. The external screen is only an indication, not a primary display! Too many people want too much from a £80 phone. I'd recommend it & I am in the business.

I think it's a very good phone! Not too expensive & has lots of features! For those who said that battery isn't very good, remember that MP3, cameras, etc. Are a plus, Battery specs are, 10 hours (talk) & 300 hours approx (standby), so don't expect using the phone as an MP3 player & still having 10 hours free waiting for you to talk!

Basically a great phone, BUT battery life & switching itself off are a major issue. I've had mine for a ten months & the battery life from fully charged to quarter charged only seemed to span 24hrs, bought a brand new genuine Sony Ericsson battery thinking that would perhaps improve performance, turned out to be wishful thinking, zero improvement. Also the phone frequently LOCKS & throws up a white screen with no response from any of the keys even the off button solution each time involves battery removal & rebooting the phone. Niggling issues to say the least & as a Sony Ericsson fan I am a but disappointed with this one.

I like the phone, don't get me wrong. I got the phone Nov 2006 & for the first few months I figured this was the best phone I'd had (certainly better than the Motorola I'd had previously). However, in the last couple of months there have been problems. The phone turns itself off & this happens at any time, the most annoying being when it was ringing, you go to answer & for some reason the phone is off! Also reception has deteriorated over time.

I don't know if I am right on this or not, but I think the Z710i can only have a 6-9 month life expectancy, which is poor if you're stuck into an 18 month contract (luckily mines only 12 with an upgrade after 11 months) On the whole though I like the phone until it goes wrong!

Not on, think I might need to phone up Mr. Ericsson & have a word.

Got this phone sent over from the UK, as my old one died. It's a great phone. The layout is easy to use. The menu is Childs play to use. Super fast too & with the extra memory space as well, no need for the ipod. Really good sound, from a compact phone & the thing on the back of the phone that people go on about, is nothing to worry about, adds to the charm of this great phone.

I have had this phone for a week & I cannot fault it. The reception is very good, I can hear every call clearly so no probs there. It is easy to work your way around (but I have just upgraded from another Sony phone so I have the advantage LOL) the camera is brilliant, the pictures I have taken are superb. The MP3 player is brilliant, I purchased a 2GB micro card M2 & have got plenty of room for all my pictures music & videos. The radio is good, I use my old headphones that I used for my MP3 player all I needed was a little adapter to use them.

Only down points on this phone (which are minor!) is the fact that the picture does not come up on the outside screen, & the stand thing is a little bit stupid looking.

I have had so many problems with it over the last 3 months from it connecting to the Internet by itself one night (for over 4 hours! ) White screening (the display just turns white & freezes, I cannot answer phone calls or do anything with it for about 10 mins), the alarm system (snooze function) doesn't work properly & keeps going off by itself, the phone driver upgrade just seemed to make the phone worse.

Seriously, I am hacked off with this phone & the store where I bought, it the service is rubbish!

DO NOT BUY!

Well. I am using this phone unlocked but as far as features are concerned, it's a cool phone except its camera which really is bad like it says 2 megapixels. Muzic & radio quality is awesome. Rest I has everything one need in a phone. Connectivity features are good but it don't have wi-fi. Can't use wallpaper on external screen & can't use your cam on external screen.

I've had this phone for nearly 4 months now & I think it's a great phone.

I paid £130 for the phone which was a bit expensive (they are £110 now) & there is much better looking phones out there for that price but I had a z520i flip phone before & liked it so I thought I would just go for the newer Sony Ericsson flip phone.

I bought a 2GB m2 memory card for the phone & the MP3 player is so great I even sold my MP3 player.

The sound is excellent, & the large external screen & music buttons are useful.

Also the user interface on the phone is slick & games play perfect due to the phones fast processing power.

Also the phone doesn't look the most durable out there but I have dropped the phone onto solid pavement, it landed hard & bounced 3 times. Apart a few marks the phone is working perfect!

The only complaint about the phone is the 2 megapixel camera which is terrible!

Yes, the bar on the back looks stupid, & its looks won't sell it. I bought a 02 version from Carfone. They said all there PAYGO phones are unlocked & it would work with a Vodafone Simcard. It returned so poor a signal, I returned it. I paid 35% more for an unlocked one from Phones2U & this one works well on Vodafone UK. Any person who says that this phone is difficult to use! Ignore them. Would be better if the outer display remained on like my Moto V3i. I only use flip phones, I have never found a candybar phone which didn't unlock its keypad whilst in my trouser pocket. Still think that Motorola V3i is the best looking phone around & so slim, I don't think it picks up well in low signal areas though. Pity Sony Ericsson flip isn't so good looking. Seems life is a compromise!

Great phone with a stylish design. Had mine for over two months now & love all the features. The only problem I am facing is when you shut the flip phone it seems to turns off the phone completely. Happened to me a number of times which is ruining the experience of owning this phone. A trip back to the seller me think - shame!

I've had Sony Ericsson z710i for a week. Small & short. Except the bulky part on the back, the phone would look much better.

Features I like on this phone: MP3 ringtones, Radio, 2MP camera, & Music player. It will let you customize the ringtone for each of your contact (number). You'll know who calls by the sound of ringtone.

One feature concerns me: having no control over Internet connection. I don't have Internet service on T-Mobile plan, yet once that round Internet button is pressed, a web page is displayed. Maybe I just don't know how to restrict it.

So far, so good. Wish it has a longer battery life.

This is the phone I have been looking for. BUT I have the misfortune to live in Germany so my booklet is 100% in German & techno German is not my thing. To date in spite of lots of calls & emails no handbook in English. I have had to print 90 pages of A4 Not funny. Not user friendly.

Charger broken after one usage. Note a quad band phone is a must for world travel yet the charger with this phone is very bulky. Unable to get help to configure email. Loads of features but very difficult to understand. I doubt I will ever get to use for more than text messages & calls. A shame & all because the support from Sony Ericsson is very poor. Even their website leaves all to be desired.

Am still using my ancient Siemens & have to say am glad I have it!

I think that Sony Ericsson should have added a longer battery life & what I really hate is that you can't have your camera on the external screen. THAT HACKED ME OFF- overall the phone has a great design but rubbish features. I liked my previous phone the z525i.

This mobile is BRILLIANT! , it has an excellent 2 megapixel camera & the sound quality is great. You can store lots of music on it if you buy a memory card with the phone (sometimes you get one with it).

My only problem is that when you take pictures or videos, they are then stored into a folder called camera album, so you have all your pictures & videos mixed in together whilst there is a perfect folder called pictures & videos! But these are actually only used for files that you download off your computer or receive through Bluetooth.

When using the radio you actually have to connect the earphones to the mobile as this is used as the antenna as well! That is a downside, but when you have actually accessed the radio there is an option in the menu for putting on the loudspeaker, but you have to keep the earphones plugged in as well.

I am a Nokia man but I couldn't find a Nokia that appealed to me this time so I thought I would change but as soon as I turned on my z710i I knew I had made a mistake it is a good phone but the reception is RUBBISH my Nokia 6230i had great reception all the time my wifes Motorola has great reception all the time but the z710i sadly does not it has a good cam good features love the MP3 player & screen quality not sure I will keep it very long though because nokias new range is out in a couple of months.

p.s a note to Sony Ericsson what's with the stupid dictionary when you write an SMS I don't like things trying to guess what I am saying. Get rid of it PLEASE

Terrific-looking phone, lovely traditional interface (why is it only Nokia & Ericsson can design decent interfaces? ) Fine audio replication & a great camera.

But. & this is just plain daft from Sony Ericsson in the face of Apples increasing sales. Why no built-in facility for downloading to Macs? iSync can be enabled with a cheap German-sourced iSync plug-in, but you can't download/upload from Macs. Which have been Bluetooth-enabled for years.

So. For an Apple user (I.e. Everyone with a laptop in my office) this phone & most of Ericssons product catalogue. Is almost totally useless. At least Ericsson can't complain that trading conditions are tough - dim decisions like these deserve sackings.

I had a Sony Ericsson K750i before. Got this one 3 months ago (bought sim free after much research) & can't fault it. I haven't used the camera much but it seems fine. I wasn't after a flashy 'look at me' handset - I wanted a reliable phone with good usability & am extremely happy with this one so far. Will update if anything changes.

Positives:
fast
keypad layout
clear screen
solid build
antenna bar for propping up on desk & using no-handed against shoulder
external screen good in daylight

Negatives:
naff ringtones
no currency converter

Was tough to find the phone in black in the Toronto area, but finally found one Fido retailer who had 2 in stock. Even Fido said they had none. I am just learning about the phone & getting used to the menu system & features. Some comments:

Pros: Nice style. Feature-rich. Good quality screen & keys, easy to use.

Cons: Feature-rich. Complicated menus, no option to change main display to list mode instead of icon mode (as far as I can tell). Paltry selection of included ringtones & themes, need to download more, which is cumbersome. Antenna bar at the back of the phone - I thought it was to put the phone on a key chain. LOL

Not sure I'll keep this past the 15 days, it depends on how much I like the reception, features, usability, & reliability. But I might.

I love this phone- got it as a Xmas present & love the flip design. OK the bit at the back is annoying but still it doesn't get in the way that much. Delighted with the 2MP camera as well. One downside: when changing profiles you can only change the volume of the ringtones you have chosen in the 'general' profile; you cannot choose a different ringtone or message tone.

Who ever got paid a lot of money for this design need to have a re think. What is the bulky piece needed for that's places at the back of the phone. I know what its used for & that as a stand for when you want your phone to be a speaker! Why do I want that? plus the battery doesn't last long. I should have stuck with Samsung!
