I just got this phone today. It seems to be OK but I guess it was unlock after it was some type of pay as you go phone. A lot of extras that I can't use. But as long as I can make & receive calls, texts, videos, & pictures. I have no trouble with the Internet but I have a big complaint about the keypad. I have the blue phone & it looks great in the light. But the key pad is uneven & very dim. I can see it OK in the pitch blackness but in semi light it's very hard to text. I don't know if there is just something wrong with my phone or have others noticed this. I think that is just Sony's cheap way. I have two other Sony's. The keypads aren't as dim but the light in them is all uneven. At night these pretty phones look like they are missing a bunch of lights. Is anyone else having this problem?

I have had this phone for nearly a year now & never had any problems with it. If you want to keep it free from scratches buy a plastic clear cover for it off eBay for a £1. Great phone, good features, 3G & the camera isn't bad either what more could you want.

I got this phone 8 months ago & still I am satisfied. I had the problem of getting switch off for no reason with it but I managed to solve it. Sometimes it may show 'Invalid SIM' or 'Insert SIM' for no reason.

Those who are having these kinds of problems:
- Please do not change your SIM card frequently with this phone.
- Please check your memory card if there is any problem.

About design I want to say that it could be a little bit slim.

I've had this phone for a year now & it is awesome the design is fresh & I absolutely love the screen on the outside. The music player is so loud which is great & it's so easy to manoeuvre. However I don't like the fact that there is no radio. But my calls always come in clear.

I have had this phone for 18 months & I love it! I am only replacing it now as the battery is worn out & one or two of the keys are starting to stick.

The keypad is very easy to use & the whole navigation system is very user friendly. The speaker for ringtones & music is great & it is very comfortable on your ear when speaking to someone. I did upgrade to a W880i in January, but didn't like the very angular shape against my ear & the screen was too small! Went back to using this phone instead.

I have ordered a K630i so I'll see how I get on with it. Overall, the best phone I have had since my Nokia 3100, which I also loved.

Found these reviews when looking to see if others were having the same problems with the phone that I am. Mine also turns off & loses all signal for no reason. I spoke to a guy in 3 store & was told it's a common problem with the phone. He changed the Mobile Networks setting to 2G instead of 3G which has lessened the number of times it happened. Also had the phone go funny on me one day, all I had was a white screen. Took it back to 3, software problem & had it sent off for repair. No complaints from me about 3 mobile. I just don't like the phone anymore. I had an LG U880 before which was no trouble & I liked the settings. I don't like the Z610i. Serves me right for getting one that I think looks good. I think the only thing that I really like about the phone is the animated butterfly wallpaper.

Well, I don't know about this phone yet because I want to buy it but I don't know if it's good, so can anyone help me? & I can't decide whether to buy the pink or blue one. But I think it's great. My mum promised to buy it for me on 27th March 08, but I don't know if it will be that exciting because I get bored of mobile phones easily. It seems everyone has a different problem I am confused.

After wanting a clamshell phone for a long time I chose this one in pink & I love it! I used to have the k610i in red which I also loved. A phone is a phone & this phone does everything it says it does in the spec.

People are complaining of the camera not being good but it's a phone primarily! Not a camera! The camera is just a handy extra to have on a phone. It's only a 2MP camera so you can't expect much from it! To take very good quality pictures you should go for a 5MP camera at the very least!

All three colours are lovely, I couldn't decide which to go for but went for the pink in the end & I am really happy with it. Charged it for 16 hours when I first bought it & it lasted 2 & a half days. I am happy with that as I did use MSN Messenger lots & call & text so not bad at all.

Yes it gets lots of finger marks on it but then so do ALL phones! Just wipe it on your sleeve & it will be nice & shiny again!

I love the display on the outer screen just wish the screen saver to stay up for a bit longer. The bubbles look really cool & everyone has been commenting on how nice the phone is!

If you're looking for a nice little clamshell which has all the usual features a phone should have then this is the one for you!

The only problem is deciding on which colour to go for!

Do not buy this phone, it switches off for no reason, loses signal when other phones on same network keep theirs. It clears call list & blanks memory at random. My husband & I have had ours for 6 months now & we have gone back to using our old handsets the Z610i's are going in the bin.

I think that this phone is really cool. It has all the necessary requirements but the camera isn't that great. If you take a picture under a light bulb then they come out really fuzzy.

It is quite hard to keep it scratch & fingerprint free so keep it in a sock. This is the first phone I got & I think it is really great. I would recommend it!

Well I live in down under Aussie & the Sony Ericsson Z610i is only just being released! I've always had Sony Ericsson & I don't intend to change. I just love the design of the Sony Ericsson & the many features, & hey if you complain about the camera being lame, then you should buy a camera, rather than a phone that's not equipped for primarily taking photos! Oh & YES I am buying the pink, just as soon as it comes on the shelves.

Is the texting quality good because being a younger, I love to text, with a passion! Thanks!

Having swopped to this phone from a V3 on Orange I find that the Sony on 3 is a poor replacement as the phone drops on to emergency calls only & can't seem to hold the signal if below three bars, the Sony can show no signal & the Motorola 4 out of 5 bars along the side of it, I have never had a problem in 10 years in my area so it is either the phone or the 3 network, the Sony also lacks a lot of the little things that makes a good phone, I.e. Audible missed call alerts & variable screensaver intervals & other points.

Have had this phone for a year & like it enough to replace it with another just as soon as Sony Ericsson changes the USB connector. I can't buy another SE phone with this poorly designed connector that very quickly stops working making most of the phones better features unusable. This has been a problem on all 3 of my last SE Phones. Come on you guys, you are smarter than this. Thanks.

The music player is OK & when the speakers are working properly the sound is of good quality. I would recommend this phone to people.

Just want to say I love this phone! I got it for Christmas last year after looking for it for ages. Was disappointing that Vodafone didn't have it so I had to buy it with the new network 3 which I had so many problems with!

They were very hard to get in contact with, the 3 Internet service was always out of action & the coverage goes from full to gone in the space of 2 seconds even when staying in the same place! My friends found it really annoying because I never had coverage so they couldn't get through to me. I decided to switch sims to Vodafone & get the phone unlocked but was told it would cost me 50 Euro!

Last month I dropped my lovely phone & the screen cracked: (. I tried to get it repaired but turns out that its next to impossible to get a new screen for it. I am going to get a new phone for Christmas & I am very confused about whether to get this phone again or a new one with a better camera? Any suggestions?

Does anyone know if the Samsung D900 would be a better option? Anyhow while I had the phone I loved it & got great compliments with it. It's very stylish & I loved the mirror surface. I got mine in pink & it's was so cute! Great phone :).

I've had this phone for 6 months now. It is good, but it does have its disadvantages. Well the music is loud & it has a radio. It comes with 3 different types of headphones. Comes with 2GB memory card & can hold plenty of songs & photos. Although on the reviews before I bought it, they said it could hold 1000 songs with loads of pictures & videos too which is a lie. I have quite a lot of pictures on mine but 200 songs & it sometimes gets full so I have to clear some songs & pictures off it. It's got a big screen & a 2MP camera. It has a flash & video call which by the way cost a bomb! I used to use it but never anymore.

The few things that bother me is that sometimes my screen goes white & it sometimes freezes, this started happening after I'd dropped it a bit though. It looks nice it's just a bit plasticy. The phone has good battery though. The only problem is the unlock keypad sometimes opens by itself so I find myself been searching the Internet for hours & then going over my bill by 100 pounds! When you close the phone it doesn't end the activity or call either which is a pain. Also the last bad thing about the phone is I sometimes catch the Walkman button by mistake or it turns on in my pocket so I've had it taken off me a few times in class because music has been playing & it isn't hard to miss as the music player is so loud!

Overall though I enjoyed this phone & I am getting a new one for Christmas. By the way I recommend NO ONE GETS THIS PHONE OR ANY PHONE ON T-MOBILE CONTRACT! The deal isn't clear enough. I go over nearly every month but it doesn't make sense. It says things like £122.76 unused. Then it says I've gone over my bill by £30 its like what! Also T mobile has RUBBISH SIGNAL & I never have it when I want to call someone. Good Phone not.

I love this phone. Granted I have only had it one day. I get bored of phones easily, & this is one I don't see that happening to. I got it in blue & I think it looks the nicest.

For everyone moaning about the camera being rubbish - it a 2MP camera, what do you expect? & without flash the pictures will also come out bad in poor lighting. Although, if you're looking to take pictures you might as well buy an actual camera.

It does everything I want it to. I didn't realise it was a music player, but that doesn't bother me since I use a Sony Walkman MP3 player anyway (same style as this phone, except pink! )

I have had this phone for a few months now, & it is actually my very first mobile phone. I really love its design - the back of the phone is really shiny & reflective, & I love how the time is shown on it when you close it.

It is very useable as well. It comes with a large variety of ringtones, an MP3 player, Internet access (an add-on that you can buy) games, a camera, a video recorder & much more. The only real problems that I have had with this phone is that it seems to run out of memory really quickly, & there are no holes on the handset for any phone charms, which might be a downside to a young lady like me.

Overall a great phone. Well worth buying!

A friend of mine bought this phone in blue on the Orange contract when it first came out. My first thoughts were it looked absolutely stunning, there was nothing like this on the market at that time.

After much deliberation over what phone I should buy as I was currently a Nokia fanatic, I wanted to buy a PAYG phone but this phone wasn't out in shops then so I bought it from Hong Kong in black.

The pictures of the phone did not do it any justice whatsoever, made it look cheap, bulky n frankly plain old tacky! However when I received my phone on Christmas, I just fell in love with it.

PROS: the design is stunning, usability is second to none, I thought Nokia was easy to use but I mean this was just so basic even my parents can use it LOL.

CONS: the camera 2MP is not too great but it is a phone at the end of the day, I don't know why it doesn't have an FM-radio. & the music player should have the option of skipping to places in a tune etc. Also occasionally I get duplicated contacts on my contacts list appearing randomly? & recently it has stopped informing about who has called I.e. Miss calls do not show up on my call list, strange.

Overall its one of the best phones I've had in the last year or so, but there are now better models on the market that are better value for money.

I am a big fan of Sony Ericsson mobile phones. I am also a big fan of clamshell types. Z610i just happen to be a dream come true. It is the only 3G-capabled clamshell mobile phone in the series. The housing is ultra smooth! The mirror effect looks simply fabulous. I bought mine in Black - it reminds me of Onix stone. Beautiful! Like any Sony Ericsson mobile phones, the features are very user friendly! This is one compact phone where everything a person wants in a mobile phone is packed into one sophisticated machine. If you want a camera phone, try the K series. If you want music on-the-go, try the W series. But if you want a share of everything & more of Sony Ericsson mobile phone latest features, this is a must have! I personally don't care about the 'no-radio' feature, because the outstanding & loud sound of the phone is pleasing enough. Yup, it has an MP3 player. My fussy complain is only that sometimes I wish Sony Ericsson's clamshell phones come with their speaker at the front (e.g. BenQ T51) or side. Z610i has booming loudspeaker but unfortunately one of them!

This is really a nice beautiful phone I ever had. It's really easy to operate. I always use Nokia phone & now I switch to Sony Ericsson Z610i. This phone is really user friendly for first timers who want to switch from other brand to Sony Ericsson phone. Everything is great for a mobile phone. For those who was complaining about the camera or the music. Well buy a camera or a MP3 player then. It's just a phone OK. I really love it.

I have the black version!

So first of all, when inserting the battery cover READ the INSTRUCTIONS I broke the clips immediately because I inserted it wrongly so! But I bought a new one so it's OK.
I love the design although I admit it gets dirty in seconds but it's worth it. The picture quality is OK but not amazing. The worst thing is that you can't use the internal camera to take pictures. That is you can't take pictures with the screen facing the subject!
The sound - AMAZING even when its loudspeaker! The Battery goes flat even if you don't use it much plus charging takes about 2.5hrs : (.

AMAZING PHONE I LOVE IT.

I got this for 149 euro with 3 Ireland.

PROS: Looks good & a good clamshell, music player is good, battery is very good, a charge should last 4-6 days, texting is simple & easy, almost identical to Nokia, buttons are well laid out & very clear bright screen.

CONS: Camera is very disappointing, my brothers 1.3MP Nokia seems to take clearer photos than this '2.0' megapixel. The memory card is 64MB (approx) which isn't huge & because the memory is a memory card micro (m2), replacing it with a bigger card is expensive. Buttons are perhaps a bit flat for fat fingers.

OK the design part is good, got it for my mom, she liked it, but when I observed it for about an hours, found out many flaws, like say the phone has very very low amount of zoom in capability, & in fact cannot zoom in picture mode in normal mode, & when in paranormal mode there is some small amount of zoom in, at that time it does not support the self timer option, only good zoom in is there in video mode, shocked when learned these things, when in MP3 mode there is no options of turning the song to a certain part, the same goes for the videos, & yes you cannot even see videos in full screen mode! That was really shocking, thought my mother is happy with that phone, I thought why on earth did she had to get that one, rather then that I would have preferred n73 form Nokia which I really miss. Hope any one else does not do the same mistake of getting this phone, hope they try & improve the software which is installed in it, cause that can defiantly change the way the phone works, will not allow my friends in Rajkot to buy it, !

This phone turned out to be everything I wanted it to be & that was a big ask! I looked for a small phone with not too many unneeded features like gps or smartphone capabilities.

Instead I was after a decent battery life of 4 days or more unlike my current P900 which being old only does 1 & half day at the moment. Also a 2MP camera was a must. But most importantly I wanted the phone to look nice & be lightweight.

My choice was down to the Nokia 6288, the Samsung D900 & Sony Ericsson Z610i. Nokia has the battery life problem which ruled it out, 2 days is NOT 'battery life' Nokia, no, its not.

Samsung D900 is full of problems & after reading 100's of posts all over the web it was out.

When I got the z610i I was completely surprised as it looks so much better than in the photos, they just don't do this phone justice. The keypad for example is actually really nice to look at & use, but in the photos it looks cheap.

After the 1st charge I used the phone for 5! Days before it was down to 10%, & it got used lots since it's a new phone. I also have to say that this is the easies phone I've ever used, & the Sony Ericsson P900 I had before was pretty easy. So far I've found nothing to complain about in this phone.

Awesome phone!

This phone is pure magic. I only have one complaint & that is that if you hit it very hard with a pneumatic drill the outer cover does get scratched & the phone does not seem to work so well. Come on you moaners: you must be joking. If you put the phone in your handbag alongside your nail file, tweezers & scissors, yes it will get scratched: what else would you expect? Oh & the loose change in your pocket might affect the appearance of the phone, if you don't use a cover, phone sock or whatever. I bought 2 phones at the same time, this one & the Samsung E900. The Z601i is SO much easier to use & it does everything I need. I gave the other phone to my partner. True love does have its limits.

I am more than happy with this phone. It's got the PERFECT design. Couldn't have asked for a better looking phone. Love to show it off to all the Nokia-fans. (Whose phones are rubbish by the way. The N SERIES is not good) it's great to use. Plus it's Pink. & the best part is it isn't a very girly pink. So it isn't very embarrassing to use! I m quite happy with the battery life + the flight mode rocks + the music system is pretty great. The camera is kind of unclear but then the clam shell (which is the MAIN reason why I got this phone) more than makes up for it. The OLED display rocks. It's got this great Application 'Facewarp' which lets you mess up your pictures and make your friends look better LOL & it has an inbuilt Tetris game. In short I am never bored! All in all. It's a winner!

Well I have had this phone a couple of weeks I know your supposed to have it a year before you do a review but I want do it now, its a great phone & I love the design I got mine in blue on Orange UK Pay & Go. The 3G signal is really great & the 3G video calling camera is superb. I love the 2MP camera at the front & I love recording videos on it. It's a great phone to be seen with a real fashion accessory. I love the way the big buttons are spaced as I have big fingers & with a lot of phones I find it hard to use the small close together buttons. I am annoyed at only one thing & that is that in the camera pictures folder you cannot rename your photos & I love to put a caption to a photo so now I have had to move all my photos to my pictures folder. I love facewarp it's a great application, I keep making my mates look strange LOL. The only other issue I can give it is that the front shiny surface scratches really badly no matter what you try to do. Overall if you are looking to buy a new phone & you want it to be fashionable then buy this one it is the best of the 43 phones I have had in 6 years.

Had this phone for about 5 months now & I think it's great. I have had none of the problems mentioned above I.e. phone turning itself off or call list not working. The phone looks superb (if a bit on the big side) & it has a quality finish inside & out. The keypad is one of the best I've ever used, well spaced, silent buttons & handy quick keys for WAP, camera & other shortcuts. Internal screen is good & although it could've had better resolution it is clear & bright. Camera takes great pictures in daylight but the lack of autofocus & a flash is a bit annoying. Could've fitted a flash next to the camera lens without spoiling the look of the phone, just needed a bit more thought. The music player isn't the best but I use my Walkman anyway so not too worried. Speaker is loud enough for your MP3 ringtones & remains clear at all but top volume.

Oh, LED display on the outside is rubbish in daylight so beware if you like to monitor your calls!

I thought this phone wouldn't stay new for long but people still comment on how sleek & different it looks. Bought mine in blue & love it!

Favorite features are that you can set MP3 tunes as your alarm tone, when you get a text it shows up on the outside display telling you who the message is from, the fact it has flight mode & the picture & video quality.

Only downside for me is battery life. Have to charge it every other day for it to last a full day.

I have had this phone for 2 weeks, I love it. For a start it's PINK. It is very easy to use. I have downloaded music on it, & found that easy to do. I have gone online to get new ringtones. The photo quality is good, as is the video player.

I have come from a Samsung to an Ericsson, & am glad, I love it. Especially the bubbles that go up the from screen when I get a call. (It's a girl thing!). The only thing on the down side of this phone is that sometimes it shuts down, this is the screensaver, & once or twice I could not get it back up, so I just shut the cover down then it resets itself. I think this is when I am doing stuff to fast & it just freezes.

But this does not happen often, on the whole this a great phone, & I would recommend it to everyone.

I replaced my Motorola V3X with this phone a couple of months ago, & it is a superb little phone, small, sleek, easy to use & full of useful features. The only gripes I have are:

- The main screen should be a high-resolution.

- You can't seem to set your own message tones.

- Why make the front cover so smooth & sleek, then go & write the logo & suchlike on the surface?

- Not all 2 megapixel cameras are the same.

- Why can't I have the choice of turning the screensaver off?

If you're a fan of clamshell phones like I am, & you don't use your phone for listening to music, then I think you'll like this one, particularly if you choose black.

Those who say this phone is rubbish are rubbish. I own this phone right now & it's one of the best ones on the market. This phone was released on August & I bought it from Hong Kong. Design wise, this phone has one of the most stunning designs on the market. I have to say one thing, before buying it, I thought the inside was really cheap looking. But actually, this is untrue. Pictures lie. The entire inside is reflective. Once you have this phone, you hate other phone's keypads because this is one of the best. You don't hear that ugly clicking sound nor do you feel cheap plastic. Functionality wise, this phone could have scored higher. Camera in this phone is average, no flash nor autofocus. Sony Ericsson uses Java instead of an actual OS, so any Sony Ericsson phone you get has the same 'os.' the screen is incredibly bright. Now on the downside of this phone, it is a fingerprint magnet. The front scratches easily too. But overall, a high class phone that is worth buying!

This one is a great phone - looks wonderful & stylish, has a lot of nice futures, also could be a lot of games, ringtones & themes. But we can download it all from the laptop because we have USB & GPRS system:)

I have pink phone & I think that it's great for the ladies!
