It does everything I need (calling & text) & is very sturdy.

The camera is indeed not good, who cares.

After more than 4 years & with the original battery, is still does it job fine.

Great Phone! I have had it for 3 years now, & it has never needed ANYTHING! Not even a new battery. The only problem that I have faced is sometimes it will just disconnect you from a phone conversation, the bars will be at full but it clicks off. & it has a 50% chance of living from a 2 sec drop in the bath tub. I just dropped my phone at 7pm & its 9.30pm now I call people with it but my buttons are messed up now. If I press 4 while texting it will open up the music player.

All of them who find this phone boring should better know about its main features I have been using this phone for 3 years & still I am saying that this is the best phone I ever had my Z530i can even beat any N-Series of Nokia I bet, & to all your knowledge you can even change your phones menu icon you can change the media player with any Walkman phones & make your phone bump (by increasing the sound volume by double its original)when listening to songs. & at the last it is an awesome phone never ever made!

The phone is absolutely great for me. To get more space in your phone, buy the memory card. It's going to be worth it. You can download pictures & songs unlimitedly with the memory card. MP3 player. Camera's size is small, medium, big. Pictures come out big & perfectly if you choose size big at the settings of the phone in the camera section. Have been using for about 2 years now & have been loving it. I love this phone!

Not sure I can agree with all the negative comments about this phone. Mine has been great for the past four years. Battery life is excellent & it does exactly what is says on the tin. If users want a decent camera, they should buy one, the phone camera was never meant to be a substitute for a real camera. Negative comments seem to be the norm for some people.

This phone is useable, & it seems to work, but there are quite a few flaws in it.

- the camera quality, Displayed on the screen, Enlarged to the natural size of the photo gives grainy & poor quality photos. I am unimpressed.

- the phone comes with an incredibly simple & dull attire of games built in. There's a sort of 4 in a row game & a puzzle game, passes about 10 minutes before it seems that the most fun use of the phone is throwing it at people.

- the Media player seems to look like a clever idea, but to play songs that you like over & over seems to take a while if you haven't set up a playlist previously. Not ideal for travelling.

- There is little to be desired about the space already onboard the phone. The space gets used up so quickly with roughly 2 songs, about 50 pictures, one or two videos & around 50 to 150 texts (sent & received), with everything else at default levels. Not impressive. Also, FaceWarp & MusicDJ seems to use up so much space if you don't upload them ASAP.

- the design is quite sleek, but the main problems are the Handle & the depth of the phone. As I am walking down the street, the handle digs into my leg.

- the Exterior display, unless turned off, eats away at the battery time like a pig, & the monochrome really ruins the overall sleek front. I'd prefer to not have that display screen altogether, it seems to serve very little purpose when you can just open the phone to get more detail on a better screen. What sort of lazy person couldn't muster enough strength to do that?

- As I've said before, the Battery seems to run out insanely fast. Java Apps & Phone Calls use up loads of energy so quickly, & with uncareful charging, the phone starts with depleted resources anyhow. Even with the energy saving options on, I still find the battery lifetime to be pretty poor, maxing at around 3 days without charging, which is bad if you forget a charger, or don't look at the charge when you leave.

I am going to upgrade to a Nokia 6300 or the 6500 Classic. This phone really isn't for me. The outside & the inside aren't aesthetic in the slightest, & the other attributes of the phone leave much else to be desired. Maybe a useful phone for first time buyers as they're relatively cheap & somewhat indestructible (I've never had a serious scratch or accidental cracks).

Please people. This is a splendid phone! Don't embarrass Sony Ericsson people for disrespecting it! I adore this phone. It is a budget phone, so don't expect all the glory features of any high class phone in the market. I have both W300i & Z530i. The only difference is the display. Phones are made for calling, & that's all they should do. Anything else that comes along with the package is a bonus. It has built in VGA camera, Bluetooth technology, cool keypad, charming lighting, & most of all cute design! It also plays MP3 & you can change the housing to suit your taste. There is M2 slot for you to add in extra files. Nothing to lose owning this phone.

I think this phone is good. I got it for Christmas. I am not really into all of this technology nonsense but I liked this phone a lot. My brother & I got the same phone & I must say it has lasted me three years & still going strong. I do feel sorry for all those other people whose phone doesn't work. Have you tried calling Sony? These problems are fairly rare with mobile phones. My family & friends, well, I have never known anyone to have a problem with their mobile. The texting is fine although I only text my children sometimes but beware those with large thumbs & speed texters! Fantastic value. Just one complaint, the camera isn't very good & I like to take pictures. But I suppose you can get a camera for that.

Anyway good luck when you get this phone & hopefully you will get as much enjoyment out of it as I have had over the past 3 years. Ta rah!

Firstly I would just like to explain that I do like this mobile phone, an awful lot but maybe a younger person would find it slightly plain, boring basic or old fashioned compared to all those other state of the art ones. It suited me perfectly, it calls & texts my family & friends, the camera was a little bonus. I have a separate camera so I don't need one on my mobile phone, it's just an extra.

Those people who find faults should take it up with the manufacturer. Some individual phones are faulty. Lots of phones that are different makes could be. Sony is very reliable company which dates way back into the 1900's so it can be trusted & I do not think that they would bring out a phone unfit for people to use. Some people have had it work some haven't. I would say its pot luck, id just say that sometimes phones do not work so let's hope you won't be one of the unlucky ones.

Initially thought it was a great phone. However, after 2 months I am not pleased. Biggest complaint is it shuts off by itself 2 or 3 times a day. Since there isn't any display (time etc) on the outside display you have no way of knowing the phone has turned off. I don't have the best eyes & reading the time & the menus isn't easy for me. I was getting clear quality but recently getting poor reception as well. Living in remote Northern Thailand wasn't a problem with the previous phone so unless the phone company service has deteriorated I have to blame the phone for this as well.

I previously had the Sony Ericsson K700i which I liked, but prefer the styling of a flip phone. This does pretty much everything the K700i did, except I do miss having a light for taking pictures. The camera on the Z530i works fine during the day, but taking pictures in low light levels just isn't worth it!

All in all though I find it easy to use & I love the styling, especially the changeable covers (loads of different ones are available on eBay!) the battery life is very good, I only charge it once a week or so, although I don't use it heavily. I'd recommend it to others unless you really want to use your phone instead of, rather than in addition to, a regular camera.

I am satisfied with the features & design of my unit. Simple, small & easy to use. The only problem is it automatically shuts off when I flip it open. It also shuts off by itself when I close it so I have to be very careful in using it. Sometimes, when it rings & the vibrate mode is on, it automatically turns off. I brought it to Sony Ericsson customer service. Unfortunately. Problem is I have to bring it there (or send it via courier) & have it picked up after the repair.

I received this phone for my birthday in the hope that it would be everything I expected & for a few months I found it was. But after that I began to get a bit bored of it; the design in a bit bulky & it became all in all I bit of a dull gadget to carry round. Now, half a year since I received it, the phone fails to text OR call - hardly useful! Also I had heard that the camera wasn't great on this phone. I thought that it didn't matter as I don't take many pictures on my phone, but I soon started to find that a little annoying. So basically I am a bit disappointed.

I would like to mention though a few things which I did like about the phone. For a start, the memory & battery are quite good & the phone in general is easy to use. It does have some good features such as the face warp & the games. It all depends on what type of person you are & the exact product you get. If you like entertainment, then this is probably a good phone for you. But I think that I personally would have been better off getting the music phone version which a friend of mine has, I don't find it a whole lot better but certainly an improvement.

To sum it up, not a brilliant phone in my opinion, but worth a try as it's quite cheap. Does have some good features but be aware that I know a lot of these phones break easily. I know when I looked at reviews for this phone I thought that all the bad ones were just petty but I beg you to read this & think twice about spending the money. But I would like to add that just because it wasn't for me, doesn't mean you won't like it or that yours will break!

Thanks, Elzie x. P.S Happy Phoning!

It's a good phone, but the gprs seems to have gone AWOL on mine. Don't know what's up there.

The camera's alright, but it has to be cleaned with a cotton bud every once in a while, or else the dust collected causes pictures & videos to be distorted.

It is a very robust phone. I have dropped it several times & the only damage is a slight crack in the screen when I dropped it from about 5 foot to a solid concrete floor. So all in all, a very good phone!

It's a great phone, only upgrading it costs a lot: memory cards. Still the fact that one can upgrade at all is a plus, I suppose. The features are plenty, but here & there I sense a loose end: I have some great sounds to go with the opening of the phone, but it's not possible to choose a sound there apart from the three default sounds. Also one can personalize ring tones to people but no message tones to individual contacts.

All in all, for this price it is a lot of mobile phone, highly competitive with others in its category.

Great phone. This is my 3rd mobile phone. This phone is fantastic compared to my Nokia & Motorola. The camera isn't as good as Motorola, & my Nokia was just a basic phone (one of the first to get colour). Animated Backgrounds are awesome, especially the default one (if you use O2).

One problem, which loses 5% on Design, is the Sticky out bit at the back. Makes it hard to put into tight Jean pockets. Overall, this phone is brilliant to use. & I have never had a phone that makes a noise when I open it.

Well done Sony. If it had better picture quality, I could call it the best phone ever. Well done Sony Ericsson!

I am proud to own it. It's a cute flip style model with lovely mobile phone color. Its has a good MP3 player for music freakers! I am too a music freak :-) I am very happy to have this mobile. It's also cheap for the same features provided in other cell phones. The only problem is the expandable memory card to buy is very expensive! I hope Sony would bring down its memory card rates!

Cheers Anil

This phone is a good phone for those not willing to spend too much on the additional accessories that come with the phone. I.e. earphones, external memory card etc. For someone asking bout this, you can get earphones from your local phone shop. Just look for the Sony Ericsson Walkman earphones which work on the z530i just fine. The z530i is also practically the same phone as the w300i, which costs more because of the accessories.

Great phone.

I think this phone is great. I know the camera is VGA but you shouldn't judge the whole phone because it had an average camera. I am considering getting this phone for my friend but can anyone tell me how loud the mp3 player on this phone is? I just want to be sure if I am getting a great or rubbish phone. Does the Bluetooth work properly? I would be grateful for your help.

I think this mobile is the best one for that price range. It has got all the features you will need & expandable memory which is a bonus. The only thing that I think is bad is the fact that the external screen hasn't got colour on it & that the camera is only VGA but other then that I would say buy this phone as it is cheap & it is all you will ever need.

Good quality of voice & sound, & people who are looking for a "Great" quality of a camera. Should go buy a camera! The dual screen is a big help, & the ergonomic design makes it a steal. This is a very good mobile except a lack of pixels problem. I was using a Nokia 3660 mobile, which is out dated now. But in this latest one, the pixels are very less. The manufacturer should give at least 480*640 pixels, so when you click the picture from the mobile it looks good on the screen too. It's a value of money mobile but still this problem is really irritating.

Well I am very famous & I love a high standard phone so this one doesn't exactly suit my needs. The screen could be better & I think that it seriously ugly. Well I hope you like it if you buy it but if you don't well done it is not a good phone & I like you if you agree with me. I would defiantly recommend the Samsung D500 or D600 as they are both amazing phones. Thank you & good night.

I am taken by this phone as it has all the things that I am looking for on my next mobile phone. I love flip phones as long as they are easy to "flip" & I want a dual screen phone so I don't have to open my phone to check the time or see who is calling. I must be able to change the covers & it is a "must have" feature because I like a change the colour regularly otherwise I just get bored of it so quickly. I must have a camera with zoom as I think a camera without a zoom is a total waste of time, this phone could do with a flash on the camera. I must have a good video, a music player, Bluetooth, lots of memory & good battery. Good phone.

Like the idea from Sony Ericsson. Good looking flip phone with loads of features & quite a high specification of features. Not a top of the range phone but comes with good connectivity. Mostly I am interested in the internal screen & looking forward to seeing the 65k colour UBC ultra bright colour display which I hope is a show stopper with some really clear, bright & bold colours. I am looking for a phone with the best & highest quality colour screen.
