Bought this phone a couple of years ago as a back-up phone. It's hardly had any use & yet battery life is poor & it has now developed a fault, a blank screen. Going by all the comments I've read about this model's `blank screen problem', it would seem that this is a common fault with this particular model. Sony Ericsson must be aware of it! I've had to buy a new phone but I am avoiding Sony Ericsson from now on!

I have the pink version of the phone I've had it well over a year now. I love it! It's the best phone I've ever had. The battery lasts ages as I only have to charge it up once a week! The camera is not fantastic but it is a phone not a digital camera. I think it very handy as you can see on the outside of the phone the time, incoming calls, incoming messages & who they are off. It also has theme settings & a number of ringtones to pick from. It is very easy to use as the buttons are quite big & easy to see & use. I recommend this phone as a first time phone, BUY THIS PHONE! :).

I was rather disappointed with this phone. I got the handset recently as I was after a phone with a high talk time capacity (quoted as up to 7 hours), unfortunately less than the specified time.

Given the derisory talk & standby times I was fortunate enough to be able to return the handset within 7 days. This seems a common problem with this phone, I would definitely not recommend it.

I think it just goes to show that these reviews can't be 100% reliable, nor can you rely on one particular mobile company. I had this phone for over a year (until I lost it) but I just LOVED it! I miss it.

It's a GOOD BASIC PHONE. No wow features & camera's pretty average, but a very hardy, reliable phone, never had any troubles with it & doesn't take forever to load like my latest Nokia.

I bought one of these phones recently & tried to check out one of the preinstalled games. The screen then went blank & the keys stopped responding so I switched it off. After that it wouldn't switch back on again. I feel badly let down by Sony & will never buy a Sony phone again.

I am very disappointed in this phone due to the extremely poor battery life. I leave my phone on all the time & I am having to charge it every 48 hours. Sony Ericsson quote 300 hours standby time, no way am I achieving anywhere near this.

Wish I had done some research instead of trusting the manufacturer's figures, I would have bought differently.

This is the first Sony Ericsson phone I have had & it will be the last. I have had it about 1 year. Even from new, I get about 4 days battery life (& that's with switching it off overnight) When I charge it up it never reaches 100% no matter how long I leave it on charge. When I try to switch off, it goes through the menu screens & changes the profile to Office & then switches off. Often when I try to answer an incoming call it sends it straight to the answer service even if I get to it after 1 ring.

I have had several Nokia phones in the past & was pleased with them, so I guess I'll be going back to them.

I too wished I had read the reviews before I bought this phone. This is my second Sony Ericsson phone. I previously changed from Nokia to Sony Ericsson & knew I could never go back. The first phone I had was great, but this one! During the first week the screen went blank, to solve it I took the battery out & started it back up again & it seemed OK. 6 months later the blank screen was back, only taking the battery out did not solve it this time, its back to the O2 shop to be repaired. You could hear the incoming text messages but could not read them or use the phone at all really. You could still receive calls, but not make any. So frustrating. Battery life is poor too.

Nice looking phone though, & when it was working it was easy to use.

This phone is not worth your money.

I have had it for nearly a year & it has had lots of problems. Recently the screen would freeze & the screen would go blank when you would open the flip top. The battery is rubbish! It has a life of 2 days maximum. The camera is really rubbish you can't get a good photo so you might as well draw a picture.

Overall this phone is worth $50 DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.

My daughter was given this phone in October 2007. By Christmas 2007 cracks started appearing around top clam shell hinges (should have done something about it then). I think this is a design fault. About 1 month ago screen went blank. Companies won't replace or repair phone as they say it is due to mistreatment due to cracks, yet my daughter takes good care of her phone. Does anyone have similar problems, to prove they should fix under warranty or replace.

This is the worst phone ever.

The battery life is horrible, needed to charge it on daily bases. This is frustrating especially when you buy a new phone & have high expectations. But this is not the end of the troubles with phone.

My phone actually had a memory problem, so while trying to answer an incoming phone call, it would just freeze. I need to turn it off by taking out its battery, & than you can turn it back on.

I would not recommend anyone to get this phone.

Had this phone since Christmas & decided it's now time to move on. I love the phone, the design is great & it does its job brilliantly. But the battery life is causing big a problem for me, one call lasting about 15 minutes drains the battery from fully charged. This would be the main thing about it, otherwise a good looking, cute little phone. Would recommend it if it's a basic phone your after.

I can't complain really cause I downloaded a media player for it which works great as well I have about 10 songs on it (compressed) on the 14MB would have hoped it would have more. Everyone says its battery is weak I really don't get that since I leave it on playing music all night long & I sleep a full 8 hours & it wasn't even weak but true the camera really is poor but still a cool cheap phone. A practical fashionistas' cell phone, radical design with magical icon displays & flashing mood lights on the sides when there are cell phone activities. Usable camera, terrific connectivity via Bluetooth or infra-red, sounds are passable. It needs improvement on battery life (try charging with the cell phone in off position to get 100% charge) since it depletes quickly while using the features, bigger internal memory or add external memory would be a plus!

This is the worst Sony Ericsson I have ever had! The battery life is useless!

I used to have a Sony Ericsson w300i it was the best phone I have ever had the battery life was excellent lasting 12 days but sadly I lost that phone & it is no longer for sale. So I decided to buy a cheap replacement phone & spotted this z310i which looks very nice.

After a few days use I was very disappointed in this phones battery life which only lasts for 2 days when it is rated a 300hrs & reaches nothing near 300hrs, also the ringtones sound terrible & very distorted & not loud enough in comparison to my old phone. Also the battery never gets fully charged it goes up to 94% & stays there & when you unplug it the battery goes down to 90% for some weird reason.

So is this a design flaw with this phone model or is it just my phone that is faulty? This phone was cheap but the battery life should not be this bad! DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE if you need good battery life.

Got my w310i free as part of an upgrade deal with t mobile. I actually like the design & the fact it's a clamshell phone. I really need a phone that quite simply is reliable & doesn't dial number without me knowing, like my k510i, which needed to have the keypad locked. The battery life is OK, the camera works fine & ringtones are OK. One thing that slightly lets it down is the hassle opening the phone with big fingers, I've missed calls by the time I've got it out of my pocket & prised the flip open!

Well I got this phone free, so I am not complaining, & I really love the keypad, it's one of the best I've ever seen, however the thing I don't understand is that is says an MP3 is included in it, when it isn't?

Also the camera is bad, & although people have said if you want a good camera then buy a digital one, but it's still nice to have a good camera on your phone then you can take one thing in your pocket rather than two. The battery seems okay to me, but I only got this phone yesterday so I can't really judge it, & it sounds like the battery runs out very quickly. Another thing I was very annoyed about was the memory; at the moment I can only fit 2 songs onto it, how rubbish is that? I have tried to delete some ringtones that I don't want off it to have more memory & some can be deleted, but some say they are protected? It has Bluetooth, so I am pleased with that, although it didn't come with a USB :( Also the screen scratches VERY easily, I left it in my bag for about 5 minutes & now it has a deep scratch on it already, which I don't understand because there was nothing sharp in my bag.

Another thing that I wasn't pleased about was that the keypad can only be one blue colour & you can't change it. The camera is not good & there is no video provided, even though it said it was included. It sounds like a bit of a con to me. Alright for around £50, but I wouldn't recommend it if your looking for an entertainment phone.

I bought this phone a couple of weeks ago & I am not very impressed. What I do like about it is that it's a clamshell, which are always more attractive than other styles, & overall it looks very good both outside & inside, but those are the only advantages I can think of. As others have mentioned, there is no zoom feature on the camera, & the quality of photos isn't that great. It doesn't come with a memory card & there is no way to connect it to a computer so apart from Bluetooth, there is no way to print photos. You can't even record videos with it, which I think is a big disadvantage, as most mobiles can. It has no MP3 player & also the ringtones aren't so good, which means you will have to download a decent one. Also I have not been able to use the photo blogging feature. I followed the instructions & it just wouldn't work the first time I tried. The second time I tried, it took so long that I gave up in the end & just hit cancel so I don't know whether or not it would work. Another thing is that I would agree with people saying the battery life isn't very good.

Overall, if you want a phone that looks good, & don't mind the lack of features it has, then you should buy the phone, but if features such as MP3 player or video recording are important to you then I wouldn't advise you to buy it.

Hi I have had this phone since April, & my sister had it From January this year. Anyway, just a few months ago hers broke, it turned itself off & now won't turn back on. Sometimes when I am writing a SMS the screen flickers & goes dark & refreshes. I had a Sony Ericsson phone before this one & it broke the way my sister's phone did. I don't think I'll ever buy another Sony Ericsson ever again.

Like the other reviewers said, this phone will be useless to you within a month. I bought one from Tesco's in first week of November, now it's the second week of December & the phone will not hold a charge longer than 3 hours.

I gave 70% for design because although it's stylish you can't get the case open quick enough sometimes & it should have had a flip-open button. Features 50% because its an entry level phone - so what do you expect, usability 25% because after one month the phone is useless you can't be confident of going anywhere if you are relying on that phone for important calls etc. I think Sony Ericsson are off mark about the battery life, & worse still they are guilty of selling a phone which is not up to today's requirements. Forget the review which stated that it's a good little phone, believe me, you don't want to get lumbered with this gadget it will become useless to you in a VERY SHORT amount of time

I bought one of these phones from Asda for my daughter while on holiday. I lost the receipt. Two weeks later the phone would not last longer than an hour with a full charge. I purchased a new charger hoping that this was the problem. A few weeks later, the phone had deteriorated to the point that it will not charge or work at all. It has gone from a working phone, to a pile of scrap, within a month. It needs throwing away, because it annoys me every time I see it, unfortunately.

Mobile phones annoy me, I hate the fact I have to have one! So I need one that is user friendly & quick to understand. This phone provided that in a nutshell. It's not over complicated, & as such you can use the features easily. I've never had any issues with battery life, but then I avoid using more than £10 of credit a month. The camera isn't the best resolution wise & apparently it doesn't have the capacity for many songs. This is a phone, right?

If you want to have a 5 million pixel digital camera or MP3 player or come whatever else they can put into these little things nowadays, then spend more money. This is a great little phone that makes & receives phone calls, text messages, & keeps a list of all your contacts in the one place, just what I need out of a PHONE.

If you are complaining about the memory crop your song, I have done that & I HAVE FITTED 16 SONGS ON THERE.

If your complaining about the battery, ever heard of the power saver menu.

If your complaining about the camera, think yourself lucky that you have one & go & buy a digital camera.

Hope that helped you.

The memory isn't good to MP3 songs & the whole memory is full the photos aren't good & the graphics on this phone isn't good either the battery life is disappointing too & I have tried to connect the phone to the PC via usb & it doesn't work.

The good features are it's got a converter on it & the alarms are good, but I would tell a person thinking of buying this phone to not buy it for entertainment features because you will be disappointed.

I just want to ask how you connect the phone to the PC as it never had any instructions.

I think this is a great little phone. I bought it for around £50, its great value for the money. The camera isn't too good, but it's a phone after all & not supposed to be used as a camera anyway! The camera is just a bonus for me & a decent bonus too.

In the two months or so that I've had it, there's been absolutely no problems. I've found I've had to charge mine fully every two or three days, but I don't really see how that's anything to complain about.

I haven't found any problems with the text size either, like some others have said. The text size isn't too small at all. The few games are alright, the multiple alarms are a good idea & the colour's fine on the screen. I think the design is great - especially the external icon display & I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone.

It is the worst phone I ever had. Its appearance is good. The text size is rubbish. The thing I hated was the battery. It runs out very quickly. You can't zoom in camera. Not much space. I like the alarm clock tough as it is multiple. I would say I rather bought one cheaper than this which has better things than this.

If the price was less I would say it's a good phone but it's really expensive. The colour is not good on the screen. It is smooth tough. There are some games. I cannot put lots of songs inside as the memory is rubbish. My overall review is that this phone is not good. Don't BUY it!

I cannot fully say upon the usability as I only just got it today & so far love it. I think the camera is great, as for a mobile phone, if you rotate the pictures they look really good, not sure how they look on the PC screen as I haven't got that far. I like the layout & the functions & the lights are just great!

The battery is a bit of a weak point of this phone, but really other than that I love this phone! It is all the things I wanted, & it's not that really expensive. It holds lots of pictures in it, & you can record your own voice (why would anyone do that, thinking of that now) & it's pretty good quality.

I like the multiple alarm clocks, & lots of other things in it. Money not wasted & as others have already said, if you want to listen to music, get your MP3 player, make good pictures take your camera.

I bought this phone in April & initially found it to be great, enough features for my use & at a good price. Since then I have had to return the phone for repair twice as the battery will only last 24 hours on standby. If I send a text or make a phone call (radical concepts for a phone!) the battery drains & it needs recharging. 300 hours on standby, 7.5 hours talk time, HA! I took it back to the O2 shop but they are not interested. My advice, leave this phone well alone unless you are prepared to have it permanently on charge..

Very nice phone. There are no ridiculous features. It really fits to needs. It has security area, more then one alarm function, light effects, awesome design & much more.

Camera is OK if you want to take pictures going a buy a digital camera. This is a mobile phone not a camera.

Memory is enough. If you want to listen music go an buy a MP3 player & battery life is really good. There are more than 300 engineers in Sony Ericsson & I believe they know what battery should be used in this phone & there's no need to talk about the battery life.

If you want longer battery life carry a nuclear reactor in your pocket. If you are so rich go & buy p900i, but the z310i is cute.

I love this phone! I am so pleased I chose this phone, I bought it back in April & I still love it loads. I bought a phone case for it, as I didn't want to scratch it & it hasn't got a single scratch on it. I normally have Nokia phones as they are easy to use, but I found Sony Ericsson phones are just as easy to use, if not easier.

This phone looks good & I love the way it flashes up different colours around the sides of the phone when there's an incoming call. The battery is good on my phone, it can last for ages even when it has only 2 or 3 % battery, which is great!

The only thing that isn't that great on this phone is the camera, its OK, but the pictures aren't very clear on it. & there is no video camera, which is a bit of a shame. When is the phones release date? I know it's 2007 but I am hoping it will be released in January or February as my contract is up for renewal & I want the Z310i.

I love Sony Ericsson phones as they are so easy to use & the menus are great.

I can't stand phones with too many flash features as they tend to have more software problems. I hope the Sony Ericsson Z310i is better than a basic phone but I hope the built in features work as well as they should do.

I am excited about this phone & hope someone lets me know its release date soon, thanks in advance chaps xxx
