Sony Ericsson Z300i Review

The Sony Ericsson Z300i is a compact & neat clamshell opening mobile phone which comes in a choice of granite grey or amethyst purple coloured casing. The phone measures 85.5 x 45 x 23 mm & weighs 91 grams which makes it very compact & convenient to carry around. The Z300i comes with 650 Kbytes of memory which provides the user with space to store their phone book entries, messages & ringtones. The Sony Ericsson Z300i comes with a soft navigation key & a well spaced out keypad which are very user friendly. The Z300i is a member of the Z range designed by Sony Ericsson which includes the Sony Ericsson Z530i which is also a stylish clamshell phone but with a higher specification of built in features.

The Z300i comes with a crystal décor set which consists of small stick on crystals which the user can add to the phone to make is really sparkle & dazzle of attention. The user can change the look of their phone with the use of additional Style Up™ covers that can be easily removed & replaced on the front section & on the rear section of the phone. The Style Up™ covers are an optional extra that the user may wish to purchase.

The phone comes with a useful external screen which can display the time in a digital format or in a tradition clock format which is very effective. The external screen also displays the contacts name & number when an incoming call is made. The internal screen provides a bright & colourful display of 65k colours on a STN screen.

The Sony Ericsson Z300i comes with a picture phone book feature with allows the user to add a picture to contacts in their phone book & can create a fun & personal feel to the phone. The phone comes with picture wallpaper, wallpaper animation, screensaver & themed displays which to user can select to suit their mood. The themed displays can change the background pattern, background colours & the text colour to create a bold or subtle statement.

The user can enjoy keeping in contact with friend with the use of the text messaging service (SMS) & multimedia messaging service (MMS) which are provided on the phone. The user can make text input simple by selecting the predictive text input method which will automatically anticipate the word that the user is starting to write, which allows the user to write a word with one or two keys being pressed. The user can change the size of the text which can make the message much clearer & more dramatic. The user can locate the messaging services quickly by simply making a left press on the navigation key the Z300i will take the user straight to the messaging menu. The multimedia messaging service allows the user to send a message complete with text, sound & image to any MMS compatible mobile phone user.

The user can create their own ringtones with the built in melody composer & enjoy the 32 voice polyphonic ringtones. The Z300i comes with a picture phone book, easy to use calendar, calculator, alarm clock, stopwatch & tasks feature. The user can create or join a conference call with more than one friends at time.

Hi. I have this phone but I am selling it. It's OK but doesn't come with a camera or Bluetooth which is a major flaw. I am in love with the design though, a really cute phone! Oh, but the screen is a bit too small.

It can not connect to PC with USB cable dcu-11. You can not add any ringtone or themes or picture to it! It's memory not used because of it! For a computer man it is very bad phone.

Sony Ericsson are by far leading in mobile phone technology. The Z300i is (to the eye) a great looking phone but it sadly, has an awful internal display. The clarity is not so good, I have seen other phones with the same 65,536 screen & they can look heaps better. Another thing is the directional keys do not light up, & they are not coloured so this is a very bad letdown.

Only recommended to people who like the outer design.

I have had major problems with the phone cutting in & out at the receivers end. On average every 5-7 seconds the person whom im calling gets a silence at their end making comprehension hard. I took the phone back & got a brand new replacement, SIM as well & same problem. Am taking it back today for a second time.

Such an easy phone to use & I have had it for a month now but when I got it I just picked it up & worked it right away. The internal STN screen is bright & clear. I like the picture phone book as it is good fun & brings some fun to my phone. Used the crystals which come with the Z300i & they are really groovy & cool. Easy, small, fun & coolest phone ever.

Sony Ericsson Z300i is light, compact, stylish & a perfect designed mobile phone. Mobile phone, not a camera, not a video recorder, not a computer, a mobile phone. I got my Z300i as an upgrade 3 weeks ago & it is better than best, it is outstanding. The design it perfect, so smooth & easy to use. The screens are very good, the key pad is amazing to use & I am sending messages like never before. I love the themed displays & I have gone for a very elegant look to my Z300i. It is very reasonably priced because it has not got loads of features which is great. Well done Sony Ericsson, keep the simple phones coming.
