The external casing comes with easy to use external music keys which are circular in design & situated on the front of the W980i which adds to the overall design of this stunning music phone. It comes with an external colour screen which allows the user to view their music information & calling information without opening the handset. This external screen displays 262k colours on a TFT display with a 176 pixel by 176 pixel screen resolution. This clamshell opening phone is only 17mm in depth, 46mm in width & 92mm in height with a total weight of 100 grams. A subtle but effective see through section situated at the bottom of the clamshell casing makes this handset stand out in design. My dad works with Sony Ericsson & he gave it to me for free & I am telling you this the worst phone I have had its way to big & won't stop sticking & the touch screen at the front of the phone is really annoying I am telling you, you are better off buying the w760 or the w960.

This phone ROCKS! All its characteristics are much better that N-Series phones with some useless applications & Sony Ericsson phones are more faster that Nokia.

This phone shows elegant. This is more greater that iPhone & N95.

If you want to buy this phone, consider w960i, it's better in features than w980i. This w980i is not a touch screen & no stylus. It's prone to damage because of the close & open feature in order to use this phone. Although the latest in the W series, it has lesser features compared to w960i.

I am tired of Sony Ericsson Walkman phones they breed like rabbits! I have tried this mobile at a tech fair, yeah it's cool but so is my W960i. The difference is the W960i is packed with features unlike the w980i it's got the looks of a Motorola (dated) & is just another Walkman with 8Gb's of memory. It feels as flimsy as a Motorola & let us not forget the shake & break feature, remember the problems with the W910i? Do not be lured into thinking the disc that comes with it will give you more features it won't because the disc won't work properly (they never do! ) Buy it if you think it's pretty but if you expect more than a music & fashion phone forget it!

Wow wow I am the first review to review this phone.

What's there to say other than it has a lot of features but can't be compared to the N Series because they are much better, also it looks kind of ugly.
