Please I discourage you. The touch screen is very delicate. I just bought it 3 months ago. Now its no longer working.

Brilliant phone, the best I've ever had. I had mine for over 18months & then lost it: (.
However, I loved using this phone that I bought another w960 on eBay (after considering an iPhone 3GS, an E71i, a W995 & loads of other phones). This phone does pretty much everything that I need & is easy to navigate (mostly use the touch screen & jog wheel. I rarely use the stylus ever since I found that my finger nail works just as well, after using the recalibrate option).
I had some screen freezing, until I updated the firmware. Since then everything seems to go a lot faster & I've had no problems with screen freezing.
Someone mentioned lack of software for this phone! This comes preloaded with most things you'll need (creating, viewing word & excel, pdf viewer, to do lists). However, there's loads of Symbian UIQ software available, a lot for free.
By the way the camera is good for stills. Not good if you need a quick image. Pressing the camera button down half way, until the small square in the middle goes green makes sure it's in focus. Most of my early shots were out of focus because I didn't realise this option existed. (I can't remember for sure but I think this only appeared when I did the firmware upgrade).

W960i is my 3rd Sony Ericsson phone, I think is the last for me, my W960i screen froze twice & totally hang, lucky still under warranty. Any how the design & features not bad but operating speed super slow. Camera was brillant & Walkman sound supreme.

A good phone in principle, but am I the only one who has been affected by the freezing screen?
Opening of messages is also very slow if you have lots of messages in the folder, especially bad considering its 8GB!
& I am writing this today to vent the anger & stop myself throwing this phone against the wall! It has this idea that on occasion I need to send the same text message to the same person 500+ times, yes that's right for no reason.
I literally send someone a single text & my phone replicates the text 500+ times & continues to send it every minute or so to the poor person on the other end. The phone has been repaired & no it's not the SIM, believe me this has all been checked. Several times, yet it continues to do it.
But because it is over 30 days from when I first detected a problem they now won't change the phone. It's a fault I have to put up with. By the time my contract is up I'll have no more friends left willing to take the chance of receiving all the texts.
For this reason & that of the screen freezing, really awful camera (don't breath or it will blur) I really wouldn't recommend this phone, not even to a worst enemy. Roll on end of contract!

This phone was excellent while it functioned. The features & design were excellently done. I must say, it proved to be my organiser & task manager over the last 1 year. Unfortunately Ericsson is done.

It surprises me by how little Sony really pushed this phone. I am about to finish my 18 month contract with this phone & am wandering what next to get but I love this phone. When I first upgraded I had a W850i another phone that got little praise but was brilliant. I looked around & couldn't find anything that had the same functions & more. When it came to upgrade I was left with the choice between the N95 & the W960i. I made the right choice, my brother got the N95 & replaced it 5 months later.
This phone took me a while to get used to I didn't like it at first told all my mates I was going to change it but the more I used it the more features I explored & the more I started to use the scroll wheel on the side & the more I liked it. Reminds me a lot like my old W750i which I loved.
Getting music on it was a strain at first, but then I realised I could drag & drop & it was fine. You can't really get any fast enough.
With the hard drive I have never had to worry what I have downloaded or transferred. It's an absolute pain to have to keep checking how much memory but 8GB eliminates that
The user face is straight forward, but I don't like how you have to go into the task manager to close programs & files properly. But it does multitask very well, very good for copy & paste functions etc finding a number while texting someone
Text messages are easy to write.
Buttons, touch screen or handwriting recognition all work very & are easy to use.
Camera is good lacking against the cyber shot range or the N95 but it still works well enough for holiday snaps or just FaceBook pictures.
Walkman is best yet. Works well sound great large memory & headphone has jack point.
The charger & head phone socket is awkward & after nearly a year & a half I am finding out more & more which is annoying but it has taken that long of solid use.
Battery life great I text, ring, play music, catch up with the news & sports results, use the calculator & applications, take photos & watch videos most days while at work, college & with my mates & the battery still lasts the day if not 2 days.
Internet is good speed good dependent on your reception which is generally very high, O2 offer good service. I have found it can't cope with opening hotmail which is a nuisance as it means I can't check my email on the go.
Calendar & alarms are useful if your using for more business tasks.
This is best phone I have ever had took a while to get used to it but it works well. It has its bad points but every phone does as a whole it is well rounded easy to use & packed full of functions that are fun, easy, useful & extremely enjoyable to use
GREAT PHONE.
9.5 out of 10.

This phone is awesome! Looks great, is a little bit smaller than the P1i & around as wide, but the screen looks massive! The buttons are nice to use & the OS is basically identical to the P1i but adds the Walkman features, like TrackID etc. The Walkman rocks & is easy to use via thumb like the rest of the phone, although quite a lot of things require a fine touch or you will find yourself pushing the button all over again!
I don't know what the reviewer before is talking about, there is a back button on the keyboard! :S.
The stylus is plasticy an a little flimsy but I have yet to break this one (whereas the P1i's broke fast, whilst playing with it) although I do like it & never use it so not a problem!
Can play movies on its HUGE screen very well & 8GB storage! Very sweet!
Camera is pretty awful, the screen is very flickery when moving the shot, but will take a good photo (only a 3.2MB camera though! )
All in all I think it's the best phone I have ever had (out of 23) & I love it : D I have had Nokia N95 & it can't multitask at all! Annoying! If you have the gallery open it wouldn't load most websites! The Sony Ericsson rocks at this & can have like 10 features running at one time, although when you bush back on a application it won't close it you will have to go to the task manager which is a bit silly, but opens apps back up very quick.
I will definitely be using the Walkman & movie player to full effect every day, shame it's not one application really but not a big problem (the video program is pretty shabby & slow but good resolution, sound & the Walkman is ALMOST nearly as good as an iPod).
I would recommend this phone as it is very cool, but very expensive! But if you are thinking of it as a choice it is definitely worth it :D.
Oh & battery life is great, about a charge a day with heavy multimedia & Internet use (maybe stretch to two days).

I've had my W960i for over a year. I had a problem with the screen after about a month but since then it's been fine. Jog wheel is useful for texting. Wi-Fi is great. Music player is very good. Internet & email access are fine. Bluetooth works well with HBH DS980. I can understand why some people don't get on with it but for me it's been fine. I just don't know what I am going to replace it with now later in the year.

Had the phone 6 months & the feature wheel on the side would not respond, sent for repair then the camera would not work after the repair, all completed under the warranty, to be fair it is a very good phone, lost my phone cover struggling to replace with an original cover! Always had Sony phones this not the best I have had, they do not sell it anymore at Vodafone!

For everyone out there saying this phone is slow, well your all wrong. I have had this phone for 6 months now & not one bad thing has happened. If you have had rubbish reception, it's not because of the phone, it's your network. Trust me people this is the best phone I have ever had. Music quality is mint. Camera is amazing & the document processer is amazing for me so everyone else shut up saying its rubbish because your wrong.

In my opinion this phone looks great, it's sleek & it seemed practical for my needs. HOWEVER! It is completely & utter rubbish. Even the older brother W980i is even worse. The W960i is unresponsive, takes forever for the menu screens to change over & my screen cracked with it just being in my pocket.
My Sony Ericsson did you even trial this phone before you released because it doesn't seem that you have. Even if you threw 10 new w960i's at me honestly I'd throw them back right at. I brought mine out right with no contract. Not sold insurance at the time however even though it was with in the year I was not offered manufactures warranty as apparently it doesn't exist. I made several complaints but still no response.
So please in the future thoroughly test your phones before their release I honestly believe that I lost £450 just buying a recycled piece of nonsense.
I am still waiting for a response from head office & its taken 3 months. Great & love the customer service skills. Keep to the old school Sony Ericsson's.

This phone started off good, it has a massive memory & the audio is good. It is a well crafted phone, however the touch screen is horrible, it has frozen right now & this is why I am writing this. The features & good look do not give it an excuse to why the phone is so rubbish to run, if you are looking for a touch screen phone then DO NOT buy this one. After 11 months I am fed up & moving on. What a rip off.

I have had this phone for 8 months now & at first it was very good (I had just upgraded from a Sony Ericsson W950i) However in the last 3 months the touch screen became more & more inaccurate & unreliable. Eventually the screen froze on the Cancel & End Calls tab & would routinely disconnect me mid call. Now it is just frozen & will not respond. This is going to be my last Sony Ericsson!

The more I use it the more I hate it. I can't stand this phone. I've have used Sony Ericsson phones all my life & loved them but this is by far the worst of them all. I truly regret buying it. 8GB memory is good, Walkman is fantastic, mobile phone is nothing to write home about. It would've been better as a Sony Ericsson Walkman with no phone. To answer calls you have to touch the screen. It took me a while to figure how to unlock the keypad. The phone takes too much of your time. Keys placed wrongly. Beautiful phone I tell you but on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give it a 4. Don't BUY THIS PHONE please! I am switching to Nokia for good!

I've grown to love this phone over the 12 months that I've had it. It has its flaws (like speed of response of the touch screen, though if you've updated the latest firmware upgrade the speed is response). However, this has stopped my carrying an additional MP3 player. The sound quality for MP3 tracks is excellent (& the inbuilt speaker isn't too bad & surprisingly loud). The ability to use the scroll wheel, number pad (for letters) & the touch screen makes finding tracks a doddle. More importantly for me is that I can book mark any track & listen from there next time (I like to listen to several podcasts, audio books etc). Also, I can delete podcasts on the phone when I am done listening. I've been really surprised at how good the photo quality of the 3.2MP camera is. The hand writing recognition with the stylus works extremely well (if I am standing on a train I'll use the T9 style mode of input, it seems to learn what words I've sued recently & use most often). The one downside for me is Internet browsing, I'd prefer to have a larger screen & also landscape orientation. However, this is a phone I can slip into my pocket. (I saw someone mention problems with reception & battery life, I haven't problems with either & I use it a lot).

The more I use it, the less I like it.
The only positive point in this phone is the 8GB memory & the Walkman. The camera is too slow, the reception is bad, battery not strong enough.
For the rest, it is way too slow to do anything, the Internet browser is the worst I have ever seen & worst of all, it is not compatible with anything. It seems that no applications have been developed for this phone so what you have for Day 1 is what you'll have all the time. In comparison to the iPhone the w960i is a complete disaster on this point.
Graphics are not as good looking as the iPhone too. I have bought the GPS device for this phone, it doesn't work either. Takes at least 5 minutes to find where I am & the tracking simply doesn't work at all. I am back to my old w880, which is older but still better.

I have had this phone since the day it came out in the UK. I think this phone is fantastic. I agree with others that the touch screen does have a tendency to take a while before it reacts.
I think I lens cover for the camera would have been good, as the quality of pictures is great minus the scratches on the lens.
I personally haven't had any issues with the phone not working, I constantly have a great signal, the features are brilliant, the music is superb & I after a few hours of having the phone, I found it really easy to use.
I often recommend this phone to my college mates.

Design is great but not perfect.
Features are awesome it does pretty much everything.
Usability can be frustrating at times.
Unfortunately my phone has just been sent back for repair as a software fault has meant I can no longer send text messages, this is ok though as I have received a free replacement handset and the W960 is being repaired for free under the warranty. I have had the phone since March 2008 and have been very happy overall despite this problem.

I was really looking forward to this phone being released & as soon as it was I took it out on an 18 month contract. Something which I am now really regretting. At first I thought the phone was great but as the months have gone on I have become more & more disappointed with it. I do not find it very user friendly at all, the touch screen is either slow to respond or sometimes does not respond at all, anything you want to do takes lots of searching through all the many menus & things can be hard to find, writing a simple text message seems to take far too long or even searching for a phone number is time consuming.
Yes the music player is good but as I have an iPod which is far superior so really the phone has nothing good to speak about.
I have always owned Nokia until now & can't wait until I can get rid of this piece of junk & own another one.

OK the phone has some cool features like business card scanner & lots of other stuff that I will never use, but I like to listen to music & annoying thing is you can not adjust the equaliser manually, the menu is very hard to navigate.
The Smartphone software that comes with the phone does let you interact with the phone to any depth ie you can not download text from your phone to PC & downloading music files is complicated the camera is good but there is no lens cover & soon gets scratched for £300 I would have expected better.

I've had this phone for 8 months now & I've grown to really love it. At first I was disappointed by how long it took to start up & how long some of the menu options took to appear (the recent firmware upgrade has helped the responsiveness). Also, some of the menu options seemed to have been designed for smaller fingers. HOWEVER.
- For music this thing is unbeatable. The sound quality is amazing (I am using MP3 320), the ability to navigate round tracks & albums using the screen, jog wheel & or letters on the number pad makes getting to tracks super faster. &, I listen to podcasts a lot. This thing allows me to bookmark any track so I can pick up listening where I left off. I can delete podcasts from the phone when I've finished listening to them. The RDS radio quality is brilliant. I've had several dedicated MP3 players (Zen, iRiver) & this is the first phone that has ever caused me to leave my dedicated MP3 player behind. Oh, & the built in speaker is pretty good (better plugged into portable speakers).
- I've been really surprised at the quality of the photos you can take with this.
- Battery life is very good & it charges very quickly.
I saw a comment about someone not getting it to work with Vista. I have vista & it works fine. I just drag & drop music, podcasts, photos, film etc between my PC & my W960i.
Could it be better? Yes. I would have liked a larger screen (on the other hand this phone slips neatly into my pocket). The word processer, spreadsheet etc are better really on a larger screen (like the old P910i). The menu options could be more logical. However, you can set up lots of shortcuts on the screen so that's not a problem.
8GB of memory is a reasonable amount for music (though I only have 200MB left). However, for video I need more (the screen is very good for watching video but again would be better with a larger screen.
If you want a good phone & music is a must have then this phone is hard to beat.

My first Sony Ericsson was a W850i. Based on the experience I had on that phone, I went & got a W960i. My W850i was awesome, but the W960i isn't awesome, it is LEGENDARY!
I now find myself using this phone every day, not because I have to, but just to find an excuse to operate such a marvel of technology. I imagine the negative reviews are based upon the fact that they were previously owners of the various other brands (sad).
I cannot imagine anything else that I feel so satisfied using, or knowing that I spent my money well. This phone can be double its price, I'd STILL buy it.
In order to give an accurate review score, I have to give it 95% for usability. The reason for that being the fact that most tasks require two hands.
Congratulations on the excellent phone (Oh & the Playstation, LOL).

This is easily the best phone I've ever owned. It took a while to get used to the interface & the choice of input methods but once you've mastered that & got the screen set up just how your want it it's fantastic.
It does have a habit of resetting itself every now & again which can be a bit of a bind when I've got it Bluetooth up in the car, & it sometimes decides not to announce new text messages, but if you take these as character quirks rather than faults then it's all good.
The Walkman software (which I bought it for, this being my third Sony Ericsson Walkman phone (W550, W850, W960)) is brilliant & still gives up new features & tricks every day or so. The sound quality is brilliant.
My wife has an N95 (which was my other option), but after playing with both I know I made the right choice. Nokia's always feel like my first phone to me, while my Sony Ericsson is very grown up & sophisticated (but maybe not as well featured).
In the car world, the N-Series is probably the best in most areas but lacking in character. My W960i is like my Alfa 159 not necessarily the best in any area but more than capable, pretty, & it puts a smile on your face to drive it.
W960i a phone to fall in love with.

I got this phone at the weekend & I love it, as I had the w950i which was great part from it didn't have a camera, but yeh its slow but that's because it's got a hard drive in it. W960i certainly is the better looking phone.
& I love but I've filled half of the memory already LOL.
Can I install spyware for it, as it could get a virus from the Internet.

I have had this phone for 6 months & can't wait for my upgrade. What a waste of money this was.
My biggest problem with this phone is that it doesn't work with Windows Vista SO I can't upload any music & photos etc. I have to use a friends PC to do this which is ridiculous.
Also it takes so too long to open applications & the dial on the side of the phone is positioned in a daft position. E.g. If you click it 9 times out of 10 the volume controls will appear because of the way the buttons are located on the other side.
I have used Sony Ericsson for the last 6 years & am so disappointed with this model. My last was a W880i & I wish to GOD I had kept it.
In my opinion this model was rushed onto the market to rival the Apple iPhone & so is sadly lacking in a lot of areas.

When I got this phone I thought, great I have a really good phone. It looks great. As people have mentioned the tabs are really small in proportion of the screen & usability would be increased if the tabs were larger. I have encountered problems with the phone & I am now at the point where I am sick. I find that what I have the messages menu up, if I want to go back, it will take ages & I don't find this very good. People have also mentioned that the start up of the phone takes a while & I will agree with this.

I think that the biggest problem is that this phone is 8GB & it doesn't have a memory card.

I have had this phone since February & it has been great up till now!
When I am viewing my photo album & I use the scroll key it just shuts off & restarts! Also since the memory has become fuller it has become even more slower! I think I am going to just get an n95.

I have this phone for 3 months already & till know this is my favourite.
PROs.
- cool design.
- Pleasant looking user interface.
- Big touch screen & also keypad.
- VERY GOOD camera, with autofocus, especially cool for macros (you take a photo of a flyer & have all phone numbers, web addresses within a second).
- 8GB memory, cool music player (I uploaded the map of whole Europe, 2G & really does not matter because I've 6G more memory :), no need to change memory cards permanently.
- Endless features, document handling, messages, browsing, music, camera, games (lemmings! ). If you don't have something you can download it.
Cons.
- Menu is not logic, this is a problem of all UIQ phones.
- Takes some time to start up
- Sometimes the graphic elements on the screen are small (for example tabs). If they were just a bit bigger you could use then easily with your fingers. As it is, it's a bit tricky to click on them without the stylus.
- Stylus is ugly. Such a nice design for the phone, why couldn't they find something better for the phone.
Some advices.
- If you regularly write text messages, take some time & study to use the handwriting recognition or the virtual QWERTY keyboard. It's much faster than the keypad.
- Somebody lamented that it takes 6 clicks to open a message in the inbox. Well, you can set up 15 (! ) shortcuts on the idle screen yourself allowing you to land anywhere within any application. Plus the quick dial numbers. If you set it up normally it will take not more than 3 clicks to reach any function of the phone.
- Update the firmware regularly. It'll save you from a lot of crashes.
- It is not true that you cannot use the phone with one hand. What is true that sometimes you have to click on the screen with your fingers.
All in all I am very content with this device.

I wanted to like this phone as it was a warranty replacement for my dearly departed N81 8GB, but I deep down I knew it wasn't going to happen.
I liked the blackberry type feel to the phone, & it has some very neat & useful touches. The roller wheel was great when viewing web pages & I liked the shortcut menu.
Some of the negatives though, are things like, the very small tabs on the touch screen that you either have to be really careful when pressing (or you end up going into the wrong part of the menu) or get the rubbish stylus out. A lot of the menus there are only 2 tabs at the top of the page & there is this lovely big screen, but really tiny tabs. Also you cannot edit the menu so it will take some time to remember where everything is & it certainly isn't obvious.
I took some pictures with the phone, went to review them & it took ages to locate them.
The start up time when switching the phone on was a disgrace. It on one occasion took close to an hour to start up! For me that was the final straw. I called my service provider & requested that they swap this back for another N-Series. I now have the N95 8GB.
In summary, this phone has so much potential, but is being held back by niggles. I am pretty sure the next generation of this handset will be the phone this should have been. By the time my next upgrade is due hopefully it'll be ready for action.

The WORST PHONE I EVER HAD! VERY SLOW. SHOULD I RATE the USABILITY FUNCTION AS 0% & NOT 5%. VERY POOR QUALITY OF PHONE!
PROBLEMS? MESSAGING. Walkman. CAMERA. GALLERY. TRANSFERING OF DATA. TOUCH SCREEN PROBLEMS. & MANY MORE.
I HAD SEVERAL TIMES OF GOING TO THEIR SERVICE OFFICE TO REFORMAT the PHONE & TO ASK FOR ASSISTANCE. I CAN SAY THAT I JUST WASTED MY MONEY FOR THIS PHONE!
Nokia PHONES? MUCH BETTER. I NEVER ENCOUNTERED ANY PROBLEMS IN Nokia UNLIKE TO Sony Ericsson. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE GUYS BECAUSE YOU WILL HATE THIS ONE. & YOU WILL WASTE YOUR MONEY & TIME.
IN SHORT? W960i IS the WORST PHONE I EVER HAD. I HAVE 5 PHONES ALL Nokia, 1 Sony Ericsson.

I've had this phone since January & it was fantastic when I first got it, but as the memory has got fuller the phone has become slower, if the phone can't function with a near full memory then what's the point in having such a large internal memory? ! It crashes all the time & turns off when battery is almost full. Not turning back on again for days of charging. I wouldn't recommend it, the memory size & the quality of sound is fantastic, but it would help if it actually worked!

Thought I would clarify, as I have just bought the phone against some of the bad advice on these reviews. It looks good. It sounds great like my previous Sony Ericsson, the head phones have some nice bass. The Walkman feature is superb. It has the rubbish PC suite but also has drag & drop functionality which is a blessing. The touch screen is fine. It does Wi-Fi connections. I think this phone compares well to the iPhone but the main difference is that the interface is not as initiative, but it has more versatility, & needs to be set up by the user. The headphone supplied have a mini jack adaptor. It reads pdf's. I can text one handed with it? the screen is obviously prone to scratches & it needs to be looked after, but it's a touch screen so that much should be expected. If you are naturally thick or get frustrated by remote controls I wouldn't get it, but it is a viable alternative to the iPhone.

Text messages will not open after 24 hrs, access denied, ring Vodafone & all that they say is Faulty handset.
I will try again maybe third time Lucky. Fingers crossed.

I think the best to describe this phone is too good to be true.
It would be great if all the features worked perfectly. I wanted to buy one & I was so excited about it, so I started asking around & I found those main problems.
- the touch screen is not as accurate.
- You need to use both of your hands in most of the operations (which I hate the most).
- Sometimes it is slow responding.
- the screen too fragile.

Was unsure about getting this phone based on the mixed reviews below, but boy am I glad I took no notice of the negative reports. Had the phone for just over 3 weeks now, & it is an incredible peace of technology. Touch screen is very responsive no issues, I love the user interface no issues what so ever. Music player is obviously superb love how it shows all the album covers as you flick through your files. The sound quality is excellent as you would expect from Sony. The video player is also awesome. I have put a couple of movies onto the phone & its TV quality playback, even sharper picture than on my iPod video IMO. WLAN works like a dream & browsing the web is easy with the big screen. The camera is top notch, this is my first Sony Ericsson & I knew from my brother's phone that they have the best cameras of any of the other mobile manufacturers by a mile. I also had a 3 mega pixel camera on my last phone (Samsung) but this one in terms of picture quality & everything else blows that rubbish Samsung camera away. The zoom feature on the W960 when looking back at your pictures is also amazing & really highlights just how good the camera & lens are. As well as all that I find texting & calling very easy as you have the standard phone keys. & as for looks, this phone is the slickest looking mobile out on the market today for me, much slimmer & cooler than the bulky, ugly N95.

I have been using this phone for just under 2 months now & I had to send it back for repairs. The screen is way too fragile. The design of the phone is so so. Its flat (that's good) but the bad thing is that it's too wide. The stylus looks cheap & you can't go back unless you use the touch screen. They took the scroller from the Sony PDA's but they didn't manage to add the back button which is usually below the scroller. Another thing is that there's a delay when you try to use the functions. This isn't a major problem but it can be annoying some times. The battery life is terrible. Mine barely lasts for a day. Most of the time I can't be bothered using the stylus so I use my finger instead & the screen detection is not very accurate & sometimes needs a lot of pressure.
Good points are that it is light. There are a lot of handy features. I especially like the way the organiser is set out very easy to use. The speaker sound quality is good for a mobile phone.
Overall it is an average phone but there better phones out there & if I had a second chance I would definitely have made a different choice.

I was very excited about getting this phone but quickly became a bit disappointed. Usability is not what it could be. Opening a text message makes the phone go through 6 screens to get to the message. It takes ages to turn on. Alarm doesn't work when off or in silent mode. Media memory has mind of its own, sometimes letting me manage media, sometimes not. Depending on which route you use often depends on how things work. For example if trying to assign an uploaded song to contact etc, if you don't go through the Walkman to do it, you get a not enough memory message even though there are only 400 songs on it. Headphones could be louder although I understand this is probably industry standard. I do however like the simple design, the sound quality, the capacity & the big screen.

My old phone the W810i was great so this phone really had to live up to it. I am starting to get to grips with it after a week. If you have had a Sony before it's easier to use.
For the design I think it is a little big but this also works in its favour as when you take a picture you have a really good picture on screen after. To be honest phones are getting bigger these days so this one fits right in.
I love the features although was very disappointed with the games as 1 game was on my old phone not even upgraded version & the other was golf? Not even crazy golf!
The usability of the phone is really good the touch screen is amazing & once you have figured out when to use button when to use stylus & when to use screen you will be fine. I note make sure you use the timeout lock (when the keypad locks itself in case you forget) or you will be phoning everybody.
Overall score 9 out of 10.

This is by FAR the worst phone I have ever had the displeasure of using. It is so convoluted in its user interface it is virtually unusable. You cannot create & send a text without using a combination of all 3 of the user interfaces (jog wheel, touch screen & keypad) it is slow, takes an eternity to turn on & has to be left on if you want something simple like an alarm to function. If you want a phone that has features for features sake, buy this, if you want a phone to actually make calls & send texts, look elsewhere. This is not a phone, more of a gadget that somewhere in its workings is the option to talk to someone, if you can find it. Utter tripe, sent it back after 1 week of trying.

For those who have negative feedback of w960i, I tell you, there are things you don't know about this phone. It is even better than w980i. The w980i model is not touch screen & no stylus. For those having problems with Walkman of this phone, particularly on changing tracks, adjusting volumes, etc., don't worry, just upgrade the headphone to hpm90, & all of your troubles will be lost. Or much better, upgrade the headphone to Bluetooth headset, although you will be charging the headset when its battery is depleted, but the advantage is you will no longer touching your phone, your attention will be focused on the Bluetooth headset only.
