DO NOT GET THIS PHONE. I am now on my forth handset in 18 months, & this one still has the same problem (& more) that ALL of the other phones of this model has had.

- Resetting itself/crashing

- It will randomly reset itself & crash, whatever you are doing, it's not much bother if it's in your pocket not being used, but when trying to write a short text & have it crash every time, you don't bother after the sixth attempt at writing the text.

- The screen is easily scratched, your nails could probably do the work of what your keys in your pocket would.

- My last phone left me with a 50/50 chance as to whether, if I phoned someone, they would be able to hear me on the other end. Not useful when calling Orange care & having them think your prank calling them!

- I now have to sit for 5 minutes to repeatedly press the 'try again' button when I send a text for it to get through! Something that used to be as simple as send!

Don't waste your money on this phone.

I Think This Has To Be the Worst Phone I've Actually Owned, Although My Main Reason For Buying the Phone Was Because I Listen To a lot Of Music, Its Very Annoying That It Turns Its Self On & Off, Freezes & Sometimes Says Inactive SIM. & A Few Times When I am Half Way Through Writing A Text the Writing Will Go Smaller Then the Proper Text Size & Then Freeze, I Took It Back To the O2 Shop & They Said They Would Repair It, When I Collected It, It Was Fine For About A Week Before I Had the Same Problem. The Other Problem I've Had Is I Can't Receive Any Music Files By Bluetooth Even If There Small Files, Every Time Someone Attempts To Send Me A Music File Its Says I Have No Memory Left, When I Have More Than Half the Space Left On A 1GB Memory Card. Would Not recommend This Phone To Any One.

I've had mobile phones since the days of the housebrick & this is the worst phone I have ever had.

As others have pointed out it turns itself on & off at random, often in the middle of a call.

I do like some of the features but the primary reason for a phone is to make & receive calls. This one is very unreliable in that respect.

It is rubbish the features are OK but I've had this phone for a year & two screens have broken yet I have not done anything to them. It keeps on turning itself on & off & is very annoying.

This phone constantly switched on & off at any random time, during a call, text or when I wasn't even using it. I had to have 3 replacements before getting an entire different model from Orange (they gave me the W890i which is also now having the same problems).

Overall this phone is terrible. I WOULD NOT recommend THIS OR the W890i TO ANYBODY!

Not good below is a list of the things that have gone wrong with my phone so far.

- Restarts on its own.
- Battery cover falls off.
- Doesn't sent texts to more than 5 people at a time.
- A screw has fallen out of it, screen cover falling off!
- Screen scratches easily.
- Wiped half my contacts.
- Tells me my SIM is inactive every so often so then I have to take the battery out put it back in then restart the phone.

NOT A GOOD PHONE DO NOT BUY. I used to think Sony Ericsson's were good quality!

All of you, go & update your firmware, it helps. I always give my phone a beating, I put over 100 games in there. It is compatible with many games. Yes, a little unstable, but overall, a Good Phone. If you are an avid game player, BUY THIS PHONE!

Okay so first I was pretty happy with the features the phone provided, I was annoyed that things were missing, the phone is extremely slow. After a few weeks my phone would crash, reset, overheat, freeze & all sorts & is becoming more frequent I've now had it several months but I think it's a crime this phone is still on the market now. I would not recommend to anyone.

I have had this phone 6 months & after a while it started freezing turning off & then restarting. In the past week it has done this many times a day & up to 7 times in a row.
No one seems to be interested in repairing it but from previous posts there seems to be no point. I either have to put up with it or replace it. Very disappointing.

Unlike many of your reviewers, I think the phone is a good bit of kit. I rarely have it freeze, rarely have the red light on the back come on & rarely does it wander off with a mind of its own!

I have had this thing for a year & all the features work well. Yes it could do with a better camera with a flash & yes it could respond quicker after you open the slide. But I have dropped this into a basin of hot water, which I thought would kill it off forever, but within 6 hours it was dried out & ready to go again, & hasn't stopped going since. Good phone.

This phone has been nothing but trouble. Sony Ericsson have had ongoing issues with the software on this phone. I purchased 2 for my daughters between the 2 phones they have been in for repair 9 time in the last 5 month both phones have the same fault they switch off & freeze & to make matters worse the shop I bought them from & Sony Ericsson don't seem to care they so buy at your peril.

Overall, this phone ticks all the boxes, good texting & calling ability, good music player, easy to use with computer, file management is good.

I've had this phone for about 10 months & I do give my phones quite a beating, & it has survived through that, so it is obviously a strong phone, inside & out.

Some people complain about the camera, but when you're buying a 2MP camera phone, what do you expect? You can't zoom on normal mode, but you can on video mode. There is no flash, but put it on night mode & it's great for what it is.

There are no games on the phone which is a bit of a letdown, especially when you're trying to kill some time, you can go on times game previews & the only way to access the whole game is by purchasing it.

One major problem I have had is how it CONSTANTLY crashes & turns off, a red light goes on, on the back of the phone & vibrates slightly, this happens anytime, not just texting, on the Internet etc.

There is also quite a big lag when you slide it open, the screen goes black for a few seconds.

I would recommend this phone for ages 16 & under because of its looks, & I've seen way too many young girls with it, which is the main reason why I want to upgrade.

I have had this phone for just under a year now & despite the negative reviews I thought I'd buy it anyway. BIG MISTAKE!

The common fault of this phone is that it has a mind of its own & turns itself off or freezes, sometimes up to 10 times a day! It doesn't matter what you are doing, it will freeze & turn itself off, & sometimes this happens about 3 times in a row! Very annoying.

Apart from this I think it is a great phone. Very easy to use, camera quality is good even though it would be nice to have a zoom in feature & have a built in flash. It's a pretty stylish phone too, especially the red models. However, due to its freezing ability it can be right pain in the butt! So please don't ignore the reviews just like I did, this phone really does have a mind of its own & you'd get a better service buying a different phone!

I got this phone as a gift in January off my friend, who bought it off another friend, completely new but without a receipt. It worked fine until about a week ago, when the screen turned black & turned itself off & every time I slid the phone down to lock it, it either turned off or the screen went funny & full of colourful lines.

I really like this phone, but the faults are annoying. I don't know if this has happened with just this phone, or if it is with Sony Ericsson phones, or even with every phone, does anyone know what to do, because I really can't use it like this :S thank you.

Well, I have had this phone for a while now as my contract finishes next month & I have had no problems with this phone! As long as you look after it & treat it well, it's a 3G phone & is very loud which is great the camera is only 2 megapixel but it takes good pictures! I am very pleased with this phone & I would recommend it! A nice wide screen good games & nice & loud for music listeners! The only thing I don't like is the texting as the buttons are quite flat & it's not easy to text fast but eventually you get used to it & it's really easy. I haven't experienced any problems with this phone at all & I am really pleased with it, yes it may not be a Samsung Tocco but it is a really good nice sleek phone & I would recommend it all day long! My boyfriend got it not long after me & he likes it & says he doesn't want to change it. At the end of the day it's a decent, stylish good sleek phone & I love it!

When I bought this phone, I was disappointed with how slowly it started up, but soon got used to it, & grew to like it, but not for long!

Compared to other phones, it ranks low on my list. The camera isn't great, the speaker is pretty quiet, & the features are less than spectacular. All of these however, I can put up with.

The real problem, is this phone has a MIND OF ITS OWN!

It randomly turns itself off or crashes, & can take up to an hour to restart. I got fed up of waiting for this to happen, so every time it crashed, I took out the battery, replaced it, & started again. Works fine, until it crashes again. Sometimes, the phone is trouble free for ages, then crashes as many as 12 times in one day!

The phone is now broken. It won't charge, won't turn on or anything.

I could use this phone as a hand warmer though, as when I try & turn it on it gets VERY VERY hot!

I would recommend anyone not to buy this phone under any circumstances, it has deterred me from buying a Sony Ericsson product ever again.

As I came to an end of my 12 month contract with this phone, I though I would do a short review upon this phone.

All round, this is a good phone. There is nothing wrong about it. Nice design, its fast, loud, fair camera, but one thing I would like to point out about this phone is that it sometimes crashes.

I chose my last 2 phones based upon reviews on this site, & every one told how the phones crashed, but when I tried it, they were fine.

DON'T IGNORE the fact that I am telling you this is a top notch phone, but it occasionally crashes, which is very annoying, & once it crashes it resets your themes & ringtones.

Overall a great phone.

I received this phone as a gift on my Birthday. I bet my girlfriend wishes she had read the reviews before purchasing it! I have just registered it & was looking forward to using the phone. Topped up my credit to find. I can't HEAR A THING! I scrolled through the instructions but no luck. This phone is going back for a refund 1st thing on Monday morning. Rubbish!

The phone has the potential to be good but it turns itself off randomly. Complete waste of time getting it repaired because you'll likely receive a new one that does the same thing. Don't ask for this phone, if you have one then demand for it to be replaced with another model.

I highly, HIGHLY recommend not getting this phone. This is the fourth time my phone has been in repair, & when my contract ends, I never want to see it again! This is the worst phone I've had, with it randomly turning off & resetting itself (theme, etc) which is very, VERY annoying while in a middle of a phone call or text! & it's overall slowness! I find it very disappointing after paying for this phone & being on a long contract I've had to put up with it for this long. Sony Ericsson should take this phone off the market because it is a complete waste of money, & I guarantee everyone will have problems with it! I know 5 people who have the same phone & they all hate it. The design is good. But that is the only thing! Do NOT get this phone!

When I first got this phone I loved it, I thought it was great & it is: it looks great, there's a lot to do & it's very advanced. However, the phone turns off all the time for no reason, it doesn't matter what your doing it turns its self off. There has been many of times where I have been half way through a phone call & it has done it. Plus, it can do it 2, 3 times in a row, I have once had it do it 7 times! The phone is very easily scratched & the paint work does come off really easy. All of my friends & people that I know that have this phone have the exact same problems. My advice would be to think hard about getting this phone. I am on contract & this is my second phone & it still does the same, I had to get a second because it turned off & then didn't come back on again. This phone would be absolutely fantastic if it I'd not turn off, I am very disappointed & can't wait until my contract ends.

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! After a week of buying it I had to send it back for another one. Got a new one, had to send that one back. Etc. I have now had 5 of the exact same phone & as I am on contract there's nothing I can do about it. I am stuck with it for another 8 months!

It turns itself off all the time, I never receive any text messages, the only way I can receive them is if I ring someone & even then they don't always come through. Which then waste's all my minutes.

I never receive any phone calls, I just get a text a day later saying someone tried to ring me.

I can't make phone calls as it either doesn't ring or just cuts out.

It freezes all the time.

I have to send a picture message about 4 times for the person to receive it.

My friend with the exact phone has the same problems with it.

We should all get a refund because it's not even a phone. It's useless! So don't BUY IT!

Hey, I would advise you not to purchase this phone as it has been a complete & utter pain in the ass for me. For example, it continuously switches of automatically, perhaps 3 to 4 times an hour in worst case scenarios. Also there is the much exaggerated Shake Control is nothing more than a pathetic way of advertising, as you have to press down the button & shake, & sometimes that doesn't even work. It is much easier just using the Keys. To be honest I hardly ever use the camera with my phone so I can't really complain about it, but I have noticed that it has no flash & is terrible quality. Anyway, to be honest I am just trying to show you how awful this phone really is. I've sent it back now & got a refund from which I am going to buy an LG KU990i Viewty. Yours, Max.

I am on my second handset after having to send it back in early January for the screen messing up, & then I only had the first handset for about two & a half months. After sending it back I got a new handset, but now very popular symptoms that people are having are happening to me. After I have made a call the phone pretends to switch off, so I press the on off button & it comes back on with the normal Orange theme. After I have finished a text I go to send it & then slide the phone down & the theme changes, this also happens when I go to take it out of my pocket & slide it up. This is not a good phone & I don't think it is even bad luck it is just a poorly made handset. I am going to ring Orange about this & will ask for a different phone all together that is of equal value because I know about three months down the line the same thing will happen & I do not want to be having to call Orange a third time. I would not recommend this phone to anyone, if you're going to get a phone for style then buy a Samsung or for similar Walkman features one of the Nokia music phones. THIS PHONE IS AWFUL.

Had the phone a couple of months then it started crashing a going into standby thought to myself some phones need resetting after a while but when I re set it, it was fine until when I woke up in the morning ready to go to work the battery was dead because it was on standby all night I was so annoyed I got into my van & ROAD OVER IT! & got another free one on upgrade.

I would not recommend you to buy this phone it is useless to business users. Thanks James.

OK, so I've had this phone for about a year & while it's served me pretty good, it's got to the point where it's very much done & dusted. It's got a lovely design & looks dead swish, great for shown off to mates, but after a fair few months of use you will notice it'll turn off whenever it likes, usually when your chilling to a bit of music or are in the middle of a really important phone call. I've never needed it replaced, some days it can work a peach & others you'll find yourself getting a bit fed up. But that aside it's a brilliant phone & serves well as a Walkman too, just make sure you don't drop it! :).

I've always had Sony Ericsson's when I broke my old one I decided to get this phone despite people having problem.

I have not had any problems with this phone, I am a bit disappointed that there is no flash & that although you can zoom in for a video, you can't for a photo.

I think the way the phone looks is very sleek & sleek, I am just gutted I didn't get it in red (I have silver).

I can't say anything wrong about this phone. I highly recommend it.

I got this phone at Christmas. Ever since I got this phone, it has frozen & turned off on me daily. It gets worse, when I take a picture, it says the picture is saved, then when I exit the camera, the whole phone freezes & switches off. When I go back to look at my picture, it's not there! Also, when people are sending me things like music, it will freeze at one point, & cancel the whole thing, then switch off. It's a very good phone, & I would love it if it didn't turn off all the time & freeze. The features are very good, a good camera, & a very good memory. I wouldn't recommend this phone though, the problems can be minimal from turning off a few times a day, to major, like not letting you receive files & not letting you take photos.

I wrote a review for this phone back in February stating some problems after having this phone for a year & well let's say things have gone from bad to worse.

One day after receiving a couple of texts the phone decided that I could not view them & started saying operation failed, it stayed like this for the next three days, at which point I had to reset the whole phone.

Then I couple of days later it did this on the games & to this day it still does not let me on them.

It is always turning itself on & off, does this at least four times a day, complete & utter waste of money, should never have bothered with it.

It simply needs destroying :@. NEVER BUY THIS PHONE.

I had this phone since November 2008. At first, I loved it especially the design & its colour (I have a bronze one). I love the display & the screen size, perfect for a mobile gamer like me. But the worst thing upon using the phone, it kept on shutting & restarting like 2 to 6 times a day, even if it is only on standby mode! It is so annoying & I already got tired of it. Great value for money & a sleek design. Sony have obviously sorted out the software problems as my phone has yet to freeze etc. Have the phone 3 months now & no problems. Only negative is the battery power isn't as good as my previous Ericsson's but maybe getting 3 days heavy usage to a charge isn't that bad after all.

I bought this phone as a temporary fix knowing I was going on contract in 4 months however I have had for 3 now & it is ridiculous.

I knew Sony Ericsson was going downhill but this is stupid they are trying to save money by putting cheap hardware in phones they expect to have loads of features & complicated software as far as phones go.

it doesn't look bad however is light & the first thing I thought when I opened it is I could easily snap this in half with one hand.

The features are okay but nothing knew & annoying when you look at my complaints in the usage paragraph below.

it constantly restarts at least 3 times a day unless it has full battery that gets really annoying if you are trying to send a quick text or urgently need to phone some1

however saying this you do get used to it but this is not a phone to buy if you want one too last if I didn't know I was getting I knew one in a month or 2 I would have gone & got my money back & paid an extra 50 quid for a phone that actually works.

This phone is very good, I love the design of the phone its very clean looking & not over flashy also the screen is a great size. It's got great features & the Walkman is cool don't have to take it out of the phone pouch just hold the Walkman button & shake it a bit & it changes song. Camera is not that great & no flash but who cares its Walkman phone that's what the cyber shot phones are for.

I don't know about the other people that gave the usability a low score but it perfectly usable for phone calls, video calls, music & videos etc. Also I haven't had any troubles with this phone at all.

I was really eager to buy this phone. Even though at least four people showed me what happens in about a month's time. It switches off whenever it feels like it. There's no flash on the camera & the battery's pretty bad. It has a good Walkman feature however it is slow to access. I now have an LG cookie & I hate this phone. Please don't get it.

Nice looking phone, nice features, the only trouble is that the piece of useless junk doesn't stay on long to use it! Had all the usual problems, red light of death, not switching on, not switching off unless removing battery, & also I have a new problem that so far nobody else has, & that is when you flick the slider up, sometimes the screen doesn't light up, so it very difficult to see the screen as it is so dark! THIS phone GARBAGE, plus I have the other added problem of being on the 3 joke network, I.e no network coverage, calls crashing, I would be better off with 2 tin cans joined together with a very long piece of string.

I replaced my old but very reliable Nokia 6230i with this phone & it's the worst thing I ever did. The 6230i is probably 4 to 5 years old now & has a 1.3 meg camera but this is far superior to the RUBBISH camera on this. I can take better pictures with the throwaway fun cameras you can buy. Texting on predictive is RUBBISH too, when your fingers don't manage to hit the wrong letters/numbers many of the predictive words are so obscure they may not even exist unless of course Sony talk a different language to its customers, which buy reading others reviews it appears they do!

If you want to waste £100.00, buy this phone, I would sooner continue with my old 6230i than ever buy another Sony.

Avoid this phone at all costs. Had nothing but problems from this phone right from the start. First problem was that it refused to open the text message inbox & then totally lost the ability to send or receive texts. Was advised by Vodafone to upgrade the firmware as it was a known problem. Did this only to find that it had wiped every single text message on the phone.

Constantly get the red light crash problem. The only way to sort this seems to be to remove the battery, which incidentally gets very hot while it is in crash mode.

Cheap & tacky construction, the corners are held on by tiny screws. These came loose on mine & prevented the slider from functioning on a couple of occasions.

Rubbish phone & I wouldn't advise anyone to touch it with a bargepole (unless you were using the bargepole to smash it into a thousand pieces).

Like most people who have made the mistake of buying this phone, I had the same old red light reset problem, no need to explain as it's been done to death already. Had it not been for that, it would have been fine, it looks superb (in the red version at least, as mine was), had a beautiful big clear display, Walkman was great (although the speaker was underwhelming, but then who listens to their music like that anyway, other than teenagers on buses? ! ), it was so easy to use, the tilt function was nifty when viewing pictures, camera wasn't all that hot but acceptable nonetheless. But what's the point in having a lovely phone such as this when it's virtually impossible to use? Pathetic. Avoid at all costs.

It keeps crashing turning its self off not showing who is ringing half of the time & signal is all so rubbish. Even with new software on it, it is still doing the same.

PLEASE do not buy this mobile. Go with Nokia! Wish I did in the first place.

I had this phone since February 2008 on an 18 month contract. For the first 10 months absolutely fine, fantastic phone with no problems whatsoever, amazing capacity for storing text messages (my main reason for picking this handset) & ace battery power.
Then it all started to go wrong big time.

My sister also had the same phone & hers had succumbed to the usual problems a couple of months earlier, again after approx 9 or 10 months, freezing & switching off, losing all her photos, not allowing her to send or receive text messages, & due to Orange refusing to help or admit that the phone is rubbish she has had to buy a cheap handset to last until her contract ends.

Mine has also now been freezing & switching on & off several times a day for the last three months which is a serious pain, as by the time the damn thing finally turns itself on it has lost approx 30 to 50% of battery power, which means you have to leave the house with it fully charged every day otherwise you are left stranded when the battery dies. It also refuses to SEND text messages, although I can still RECIEVE them, which seems strange, but is obviously useless as I cannot reply to anyone.

& I regularly get the inactive SIM thing, as well as it going SO slowly at times.

Despite initially loving this phone I have now had to put my SIM back into my old Samsung D600 handset which lasted 2 years without a single problem & still way outperforms this Sony, the only reason I upgraded my handset was due to Samsungs generally having rubbish battery power, & the handset not being capable of holding many text messages before being full.

So my message is clear, DO NOT BUY THIS Sony W910i HANDSET UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES as neither Sony nor any of the retailers seem able to admit that this handset is absolute rubbish & completely unreliable, how many people have to complain about the same problems before they accept that these issues are NOT resolved by downloading the latest software (complete rubbish as mine HAS the latest software) & are NOT caused by people misusing the phones (my phone is my lifeline & is treated with kid gloves at all times)!

I certainly will NOT be buying a Sony again, this was the first & last time. RUBBISH!

I have had this phone for 16 months now & boy has it been a struggle! I have just been into the O2 shop to have my phone sent back for the 4th time! Last time I was actually got given a new phone too but 3 months down the line & it's just shut down & won't restart again. The red light syndrome this model seems to suffer with has taken out two of these phones for me now & I've had enough. I am demanding O2 give me a different model, which according to their customer service people on the phone is what should happen however try & get the actual shop to help you & you hit a wall, I have never had such bad customer service. Makes me want to take my custom somewhere else when my contract's up & certainly avoid Sony Ericsson phones in the future! Several of my friends have the same model & all have stated the same problems. Do not get this phone!

Before reading any reviews, my son bought this phone & a couple of my friends have also got this phone. All 3 are having the same problems mentioned in the reviews about it shutting down & freezing up on them. I went to Sony website & downloaded the update software. Followed all the instructions, even though it said the latest updates are already installed on the phone, I clicked on the Continue Anyway button & they have not had any problems with their phones since. Hope this helps everyone else sort their problems out.

First got this phone & loved it! I put all my music on it from my PS3 & the quality is awful to be honest (sound from earphones) & the sound from the speaker on the back is poor also.

Another annoying thing is the fact that the Walkman shortcut key is on the top of the phone on the back so when it is slid open you cannot get access to the Walkman key!

The camera is not too bad but it's a music phone so hey ho (why complain about the camera if it's a music phone? ! ) I have had it for nearly 4 months but the problems have already started, it turns itself off, deletes my music randomly & is very slow to get into messaging etc.

All of the above are because of the software uploaded on the phone (it is the latest & there is no way of getting rid of it) so you are left with a rubbish phone & a waste of, for me, a 2 year contract so I have to get the same one again!

DO NOT GET THIS PHONE! Sony Ericsson should recall this phone as it is awful but Orange, O2, Vodafone etc keep selling it! There are many problems with Sony Ericsson's phones (W880i has same software glitch) so I don't think I will get a Sony Ericsson again but for me, a music lover, there is nothing else in Nokia's, Samsung's, or LG's range that compare to the musical phones that Sony Ericsson do. DO NOT BUY.

I can't say I Hate It! To start it was hard to come to use with the buttons at first but then you get use to it. My phone won't let me use video call even though it says on the top of the screen 3G!

It goes blank & a red light goes on in the back when it loses signal. The camera isn't as good as other 2MB phones I've seen. & I hate it when you go on Walkman to listen to your music & a music that was already on the phone goes on & you just can't delete it. Grrrrrrr.

I have had this phone for over a year now & to be honest it is not that bad but within two months of getting it, the screen just broke & would not turn on. After paying £200 in the first place I was not best please I then had to pay to get it fixed which was another £50. But now there seems to be a few more problems it just decides itself when it wants to turn on & off. If anybody was thinking about buying it I would not recommend it because in the end you will probably be shelling out more than you want to.

I got this phone for Christmas & problems ensued immediately. The phone constantly freezes & crashes & the theme resets itself after it has rebooted. The phone is slow & its reactions are delayed; after pressing the menu button I could wait up to a whole minute for it to do anything! Playing music on the Walkman was constantly disrupted by the music jumping & stopping, the phone couldn't cope with the pressures of texting & listening to music at the same time. I know four people with the exact same phone & they are having the same problem. The buttons are hard to use too. Inactive SIM often appears on the screen & the phone would crash afterwards. I lost my patience with it last week after the headphone socket broke & I took it back to the shop.

In conclusion, THIS PHONE IS AWEFUL & Sony Ericsson NEED TO BUCK UP THEIR IDEAS.

This is the third version of this phone my wife has had.

- Crashing
- Restarting.
- Cutting off.
- Losing photos.

Just to name a few. Carphone Warehouse replaced with no fuss, BUT, I understand this is a fairly cheap phone, but why have one that fails all the time.

You don't buy a new car only to break down once a day do you?

Sony ought to sort this rubbish out, as it is bad customer relations.

Go buy an N95, much better.

I have found that the light sensor keeps responding to the shade from my hand. The battery used to be rubbish but it suddenly started being really good lasting 2 days. The freezing problem I have found occurs when you use the phones internal memory. I had it almost full & it was freezing at least 4 times a day. I then transferred everything onto my M2 card & it has not frozen once since.

This phone is TOTAL RUBBISH. Same problem as everyone else, it keeps freezing on me & turning off, the red light problem!

The other day this happened & I put it in my bag, exasperated, & didn't look at it for a while. When I did pick it up later, my daughter, who I had been speaking to when it crashed, was still connected, even though the phone wasn't on!

Intermittently the sound cuts out while you are on a call, causing you to not be able to hear what the other person is saying.

It is extremely slow to react to your actions too.

The slider on mine suddenly went really stiff & wouldn't open properly &, at one point, wouldn't open or close at all.

I HATE THIS PHONE & certainly won't be having another Sony Ericsson when my contract ends in 5 months time. I can't wait to get rid of it.

My advice, don't touch it with a barge pole!

Buttons were not very easy to use to small & did not press in easily, I had to replace this phone 4 or 5 times because it would not charge & I tried it in most of the sockets in the house, It got sent back for repair once then when it came back it worked for a few weeks then started to not charge again, I have had 3 or 4 new Motorola RAZR V3's since then & they all broke, Now I have a new phone completely. & the memory on the RAZR V3 is awful holds 3 or 4 songs at the most if they are not very big!

I bought this phone in October & have already have problems. For a start it always freezes, often when I am in the middle of something. Then for no reason whatsoever, I woke up the other day & went on my phone to find all of my media has been lost. All pictures, music & videos are gone & I have tried everything to get them back but nothing works. On the plus side looks very nice, but does not live up to Sony Ericsson's great reputation. Steer well clear.

Had this phone from new approximately 2 months so now used to it. The main gripe about this phone is battery life, I don't use it a huge amount during the day but I'm having to recharge on a daily basis. I am thinking of buying another battery. Sometimes the key board is a bit hit & miss. The camera seems OK indoors & out. Wish manufactures would standardise charges, I've got a good selection now.

This phone is really good for the price you purchase it for. After using it you for a week you will notice that the slider will start to wobble a bit. But this is normal for most slider phones. Music on this incredible & the included head phones do a good job. The phone crashes some time. But I've found out that people tend to go through menus to fast & this can cause it to crash (the w910i cannot take on intensive operations).

The phone looks stylish & it definitely worth the buy.

This phone looked great on the websites & magazine, in the shops & so I made the mistake. & got it, even worse, on Orange!

This phone started off good loads of cool features, shake control etc easy on the eye & very nice clear screen. So without using it, I'd say wow.

But once you start using it problems start appearing. Firstly, every now & then it would restart & crash, I just thought it's OK every phone does it sometimes, when it got to once a day I sent it back to Orange, got replaced next day, very happy :).

Phone number 2, hopefully better luck. In fact I could not have been more wrong, the slider has become loose & wobbly, it crashes a lot, for some reason receiving texts is a joke as is attempting to receive calls or get a signal behind a few bricks & paint (yes I mean inside my house).

I am now onto it crashing 4 times in under 2 minutes which it does roughly 4 times per day, & I am afraid, I am not joking, although because off this my phone has had its fair few meetings with the wall. But, to be fair, it still works the same, & the slider hasn't got worse, I have even stamped on it (yes I have a short temper) but she still goes on so I would say it's very durable! (See an angry customer can carry out extensive durability tests) Please note. I started doing this after the problems, if I'd have caused them I wouldn't complain about them ;).

If you do get this phone get insurance, I did not & they refused to replace my phone more than once, even though still under warranty, I had to spend 10 minutes on the phone to Sony Ericsson (Premium rate) to get half of an address. Absolute waste of time & money.

It has got so bad I am buying a new phone until my contract is up just to get rid of it, I might use it when I go to football or fishing seeing as I have proved it can take a beating. But that's all its good for really.

The phone is great. Who cares that it turns its self off once in a while. Every phone you ever buy will not be perfect ALL the TIME. Any way what the phone can do more than makes up for what it can't do. The software in the menus make it look great. Fair enough the sound quality is a bit dull but who actually cares. That's what headphones are for.

The design of the phone is very good & is practical & has some decent features, but the camera is poor & the games are only demos.

I am on my fifth replacement of the phone as it switches itself off constantly & changes my themes, also, it says my SIM is not inserted, it's extremely annoying especially when in the middle of doing something & it often takes a long time to switch back on.

Disappointing by Sony Ericsson as my past phones have had no problems. Can't wait to renew my contract! Waste of time getting this phone.

In my opinion I wouldn't get this phone. It isn't very good.

- the screen comes off.
- the paint work comes off.
- the phone automatically shuts down.
- Can't zoom on normal camera.
- the camera isn't practically good.
- Dusts gets under the phones screen very easily.
- Sounds quality isn't very good.
- Hard to change from landscape & portrait on media.

Overall I think this is a rubbish phone it isn't worth wasting your money on this phone go for Samsung G400 much better.

It is a nice looking phone with a lot of good features considering how relatively cheap it is. HOWEVER I am complaining of the same old thing as everyone else, it's all very well having a nice looking phone with good features, but if it keeps crashing all the time, it's no use to me!

My friend & I both got this phone within weeks of each other, & we both suffer the dreaded red light going on & the whole thing needing a minute or so to reset, not much use if you're in the middle of actually using it! & it doesn't matter what network you're on, someone below claims it only crashes on Orange, but mine is an O2 phone, in white & gold, & it crashes on average once daily. Sorry Sony Ericsson, but once I am out of the contract I am not getting another of their phones ever again! I am going back to Samsung, so much for trying something different!

Nice phone, with a solid feel to the handset, the functions & easy of use are good, however my handset was bought from the CPW in Ipswich in late November 2008, my handset suffered from the restart bug which took effect after the first week of ownership also the slide mechanism was poor with lots of free play between both sections of the handset, you would of thought being this model has been out over a year the bugs would of been sorted out, it's a bad show for Sony Ericsson, I won't have another, took it back & change it for a Samsung G600 which I am very pleased with, Samsung is far better put together than the W910i, do you?

Mine did this about 4 times in a year & also shut down then instantly restarted itself about twice a week. However, after updating the firmware via the Sony Ericsson website, the phone was fine.

The design & build quality are spot on. It is one of the best built & most solid phones I have ever owned & I've had a few. The metal casing gives a quality feel & the slider is smooth & sure. It is so light that you hardly notice it in your pocket. A must have phone for those who like it in their shirt pocket.

I can't understand why other reviewers slate it for the bad camera. It's a 2MP non auto focus non flash affair, it says so on the box! So don't expect it to be up there with the best. Personally I've had some very good results during daylight hours.

The screen is a decent size & the menus are a doddle to navigate. The Walkman is excellent & the sound quality through the supplied earphones is superb. Just don't expect the same sound quality from the external speaker which is very weak to say the least. Also not good for hands-free calling.

The auto rotate screen works very well, as does the shake control for the Walkman. Other feature such as TrackID are very impressive (great at identifying tunes played in clubs etc), as is the VideoDJ & many other built in applications.

Call quality is up there with the best & web browsing is a fairly pleasant experience. All the controls are well placed & function perfectly. Battery life is really quite good. With heavy use it will last two days, with light use it will last the week.

On a final note, if you want a phone that is easy to use, has lots of features & has a quality feel then look no further. I upgraded to a C905 & instantly missed the solid yet light feel of the W910i. In my opinion a really really nice phone.

This phone is terrible. I had it about a week & it stopped working, it would constantly turn off & everyone I know with the phone has had the same problem, seriously do not get it. I bought mine on 3 & I sent it back three times & it did not solve the problem & they were no help to me at all. In the end my camera would not work & it would not charge at all resulting in me with a broken phone.

Don't BUY. I seen this phone & thought WOW! Bought it, it took 2 days for the phone to start crashing. I don't care who says it great & there is nothing wrong with mine & it will crash. It's a fault with all the phones, not just a selected few. Otherwise why would the same problem be applying to so many people.

I tried going in to the Carphone Warehouse & asking them what was going on & was there a problem. All I got told to do was to update the software. Which I done on many occasions & it did NOTHING.

You want a good phone? Buy the Sony Ericsson K750i, not so good looking but it's amazing. It lasted me near enough 3 years been through the worst of weather & my boyfriend now has it & it's still doing its job perfectly. Please, save your money & don't buy the phone.

This phone is rubbish. It is very good looking but as soon as I got it the games & applications broke. It shuts down at least twice a month, & has just shut off completely. When I turn it on it says searching for network, then continues to search for over 10 minutes, until it restarts & does the same. I regularly have to take out the battery, because of the shut downs, & master reset the whole thing. It does this increasingly often. I wish I'd never got this phone. & I still have another 6 months of contract left. It is immensely annoying & you tend to lose things saved onto your phone. Do yourself a favour & get a different phone. My old phone, had water damage & worked better than this one does. Hopefully I'll be able to fix it though. But I don't see why I should have to. When it works it is great, but most of the time it is just disappointing.

AVOID THIS PHONE! People claim that the battery if faulty causing the mass turn off but it's the phone. Had everything replaced & within a week. Same problems occur.

Problems I've had are.
- Turning off & resetting.
- Walkman button stop working.
- Randomly lose a contact.
- Camera doesn't work.
- Slightest tap in pocket & it turns off.

Stay away from this phone as much as you can!

Everything about this phone is great :D. Recommend it to everyone who likes music, & basically an all round phone.

One issue I would say was, the camera is good & is a reasonable quality, is that it could have a flash. People buy this phone for the MUSIC, not for the pictures. But it is a great phone & the camera is also very nice.

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE, the phone has a great design ONLY! It looks good, quite small, fits nicely in the pocket but it is real RUBBISH! Keeping crash, switches off all the time, get frost screen & red light at the back comes up, so I need to remove the battery, & restart the phone in order to make phone calls. During the crash, if I am on the middle of writing a text message, normally I lose it! I only rate 5% on Usability because this is the lowest we can rate. Otherwise it would be minus 5. I AM GOING FOR MY 3rd REPLACEMENT!

Good little phone, decent enough camera & good music player. However the technical side. I am with Orange & rarely get a signal but Orange say it may be a fault with the handset. The phone also randomly turns itself off, it can get really annoying especially when you are mid text. It's a shame really because it has the potential to be a really good phone! Easy enough for putting pictures & stuff on your computer & vice versa so it is good in that respect.

This phone is a great design & has brilliant features. It is also very user friendly. When it works! Since starting my contract with Orange in December 2007, it has been replaced 4 times & repaired 3 other times. Sony Ericsson appear to have a serious problem with their more recent phone, as my younger brother bought one of the Cyber Shot 5 megapixel camera super duper phones, & has just asked to have it replaced by another make. I have also just emailed Orange about replacing it. All it does is freeze or shut down, or it won't open my inbox, or doesn't ring when people are phoning. It's a shame, because I love Sony & couldn't wait to get this phone. Now it's just become such a hassle that I'll be staying away from them until I have proof that they've sorted out their little problem!

This phone will drive you mad! Mine's been in for repair twice now & each time it comes back the same problems occur after a couple of days, switching itself off, which means I lose all my contacts & messages, freezing for no reason, crashing, can't keep a charge. Got phone in November 2007 with Orange & problems started almost immediately.

Waiting for a new phone now as this one won't even switch on even though it is fully charged. Hope I don't have the same problems with a brand new phone. Won't get my hopes up though & won't get this model when I upgrade in May!

Word of advice, don't DO IT. Please don't buy this pathetic toy. It is by far the worst phone I have ever had. The speaker sound quality when playing music is appalling! Screen keeps freezing & the phone will switch off when you need it the most. I upgraded to this back in October 2007. By the end of January 2008 & after 3 exchanges I was back using my old rusty Motorola RAZR, which I am still using to this day. The battery life on the Motorola is amazing! On the Sony Eric it's poor! If you use the Internet invest in a magnifying glass, the picture quality is poor. Very disappointed with the W910i. It's put me off Ericsson for life!

Awful phone! The worst I have ever had. It switches its self off for no reason & when I turn it back on I have to master reset because it won't let me use my text messaging, which therefore looses all my settings I have put on. Also when I click on applications or games it says operation failed so I have never been able to have applications & only used my games a few times when I bought it. Do not buy this phone!

Well I have been into Sony Ericsson's for a while now & my last phone (W800i) was the best phone I have ever owned! This one sadly isn't the same.

As said before, the first few weeks were OK but after then it would crash & just get really hot :S, very confusing. Spoke to Orange & they suggested a firmware update, did that & all seemed to be well.

Then after a week it would freeze, crash then reboot. This happened during calls, text, pictures or whenever it feels like it. I don't know why they only put a 2MP camera in without any of the features Sony was known for (flash, auto focus etc) very disappointing.

To top it off this week the slider broke, so it is going back & I won't be having another one. I'm going to try my luck with the Tocco instead.

To sum up, good phone to look at. Not so good as a phone.

Right, now I've had it 3 months or so I'll have another go at reviewing it.

First thing, if you're with 3 do not get this phone! It seems that no matter where you are it struggles to get a decent signal & therefore kills the battery (which never gets beyond 97% charged) hardly using the phone at all the battery lasts 3 days. You can't switch it to 2 to 2.5g to save the battery as it resets to 3G as soon as it obtains a signal.

The slider mechanism becomes loose & sloppy within a week or two, & the keypad buttons are very flat & close together, so don't trim that thumbnail too short!

Shame really, as it's a smart looking phone with a wonderful screen, but 3 have ruined it as they do most of their phones by making too many changes & loading the phone up with rubbish demos you can't delete.

I've had this phone since about June 2007. Absolutely great phone. It's a good looking phone, the Walkman feature is OK (apart from the switch track feature that has never worked), camera is acceptable but most importantly it was reliable, until August this year.

From then on it kept crashing, wouldn't let me send or receive texts & rarely send calls, & then broke completely. Fine, because I got a replacement through insurance.

Literally 2 days later, broke again! This time is was supposedly the charger, as it wouldn't switch on at all, so got both the charger & battery replaced just in case. Had it since then, but now again it won't switch on at all. It's a shame as this phone has the potential of being great. But it isn't.

This is the WORST phone ever brought out by Sony in my opinion! Less than 2 weeks from purchasing the phone Ibegan having problems, couldn't receive or make calls, texts wouldn't send & like many other reviews kept switching it's self off for no apparent reason. The company I bought it from were no use & I am still trying to get a replacement. I got two new ones & both of them done the exact same thing. Apart from the severe problems in actually using the phone, the design is sleek & it's rather easy to use for texts, calls etc when you can!

However I am finding that the more things Sony are trying to fit into their phones, especially their new models, they are all doing the same thing because they can't cope. The K850i & the C902 are exactly the same, not impressed Sony. Stop trying to make mobile phones into Camera's, you can purchase a camera seperately & the 3.2 on the K800i had excellent focus. A phone that can keep up with the user & actually works is more important than one that doesn't!

Love the design of this phone. More megapixels should be standard along with a xenon flash. Like the MP3. Screen is excellent. Only drawback is the dreaded red light syndrome. If you can tolerate the phone locking up with the red light on then get this phone. It's a minor irritation which shouldn't happen. Shame because this is a great little phone. Oh well, back to Nokia!

I really love this phone so far & I have no problems like the phone freezing as other people say they have even though I use the Walkman quite a bit & use the games.

Even though the camera hasn't got a flash it still has night mode which allows you to take fairly decent photos in darker places (if you want a phone with a flash then you need a cyber shot Sony Ericsson, not the Walkman type).

Overall an excellent phone.

Not a bad phone. SMS-happy users would need sometime getting used to. The keys on the phone are flat down on the phone, not jutting out so you might have a little problem texting. The Sony Ericsson K810i have the greatest texting keys! The phone occasionally restarts itself, it isn't a problem though, just a quick restart & it's back on full form! Another thing to highlight is that the phone does not freeze or hang. The shortcut key might not work sometimes but it isn't a problem. Try it. It's good! One feature I find rather redundant but it's one of the phone's highlights is the SensMe function. You have to press the Walkman button & shake the phone, why don't you just hold the volume button & shake the phone? An advanced phone should also have at least a 3.2MP camera, it instead have a 2MP camera only. You can't zoom while in 2MP or 1MP mode. You'll have to use VGA mode, the quality is similar, couldn't detect any differences, the zoom is only 2.5 x though. If you look at the back of the phone, you will see a small plastic panel where the external speakers are located, this area scratches easily. The front of the phone is also dominated by a large 2.5 Inch screen. Good phone.

I upgraded from a Sony W850i to the W910i (both on 3) after my partner got a W910i on Orange. I have had my phone since May & recently it has switched itself off. It is not a major problem, yet. Overall I like the phone, but the list of horror stories scare me a little & when I upgrade next it may not be to a Sony.

I find the phone quite user friendly & do like the MP3 player, my iPod just had a ride in the washing machine which killed it & so I am using the MP3 player on the W910i to listen to my podcasts from iTunes, OK, it isn't compatible with iTunes but using the USB converter for the mini memory card its easy & quick just to transfer from iTunes library on my laptop to the memory card.

I have noticed that when I am making a call & chose the speaker option nothing happens in terms of the sound is still coming from the normal speaker & does not increase in volume. Not sure if something is set wrong or if there is an actual external speaker which is broken!

With perhaps 8 months of my contract to go, fingers crossed it won't develop any more faults.

It's a great phone to look at, but never judge a book by its cover! I think for a Walkman mobile, sound quality is poor. Mobile keeps switching itself off & the red light coming on at the back. Sometimes it corrects itself, other times I have to remove the battery. The life of the battery is also poor & I don't listen to music that often.

My phone has been sent back for repair, judging by the other comments on this site, it would appear there is a major problem with the phone. I've always had a Nokia & never had any complaints. Why I choose this phone, I'll never know.

What a mistake! Don't buy it!

Hi, OK I loved the look of this phone & really like the music player. But the screen has dots all across it, not sure what it is could be dirt in the screen. Really annoying.

The red light of doom comes on & the phone freezes if I try & do anything too quickly. Usually happens if I am going through my photos. But thats OK as there is no flash so not much of a chance of taking photos unless its sunny! & the zoom doesn't work in normal camera mood! How silly.

Taking my phone back at the weekend to see if they can sort out the screen. I had a Samsung before this & it worked a lot better! Sony Ericsson sound good but can't live up to the adverts!

I absolutely adore this phone. I love the design because it looks so modern yet stylish. It is extremely easy to use & very reliable. It does however have 2 bad points

- the screen scratches easily & marks are hard to remove.
- It does freeze occasionally but in the 5 months I have had it this has only happened about 3 times.

I would happily recommend this phone to anyone who needs a phone for music or pictures as the memory is absolutely superb. Love it!

I like the design however the slide is very delayed & the phone switches itself off at will! The camera is rubbish. The texting is slow & my calls always get cut off. The only good thing (if any) is the video calls.

I got this phone last November & had to send it off to be fixed in December as it kept dying & turning itself off & on again all the time. Also when listening to headphones the phone turns itself off & jams if you receive a text or call. I was told to upgrade it on my PC & it was OK for a while but it still does it occasionally. Also, when I try to upgrade it to fix the problem now it says no upgrade available so I am stuck with it & no solution till next February or March grrr. Brilliant Walkman & bass also nice contact options with pictures etc & lovely keys to text with very soft. Could do better with the design nice & slim but a bit boring.

Overall, a nice phone but not amazing unless you want it for stereo or simplicity.

If you go to settings & update services & then download the update it sorts out your phone. Mine been fine since I updated it.

Got this phone last November 2007. Thought it was great at first but like after 2 weeks of using it, it just kept on restarting itself, or it would display sim inactive or operation failed especially on the SMS.

I had taken it to Sony Ericsson for repair & it was okay when they returned it to me, but only for a month because after that, it began restarting all over again.

I really do consider myself careful, sometimes extra careful with my things & after reading most of the reviews, hence I think the problem is with the phone itself.

It's not a bad phone as such, & certainly has a very nice screen, but if you're with 3 I'd give this a miss if I were you. The phone seems to be constantly struggling to find decent 3G signal & therefore, without using anything else on the phone, the battery barely lasts 4 days, pathetic.

It would also seem that Sony Ericsson have made a gaff on the design of the slider mechanism, as within 2 weeks it had become unevenly loose, & from others new ones I've looked at this seems the norm.

If you don't mind charging your phone every 3 days then it's OK, but otherwise don't bother.

I like the phone but it broke in just a week as the screen cracked on the inside for no apparent reason & I would run out room on this page due to all the faults (if I listed them). Bad phone don't buy it.

I just got this phone from 3 services in Australia. Before purchasing I checked some feature on their website which was important to me. One of them is speaker phone. After getting it I used speakerphone it is of so low quality that you can't hear in market or if vehicles are crossing near to you. Why we look for speakerphone so that we can use it hands-free with louder volume so that it will helpful in such areas. If you are planning to get a new phone from 3 services in Australia don't take this phone.

Hey guys, am looking for a NEW Sony Ericsson. Have been thinking of getting a W910i for ages & so far am stuck with a W610i, It's an awesome but am selling it to someone & I am wondering if I SHOULD get a W910i but some people are complaining how faulty it is, & some are saying don't listen to others.


I mean some people who have this & they say they have no problems with it. Then I went to a phone shop & they didn't recommend it, so I don't know what to do. Does anyone think I paid £200 for a W910i on Vodafone or O2 network or should I just go for something else? Thanks for reading.

At first I thought the phone was good. However within few weeks it started to play up. It kept going on & off. The keypad kept freezing & the red light comes on at the back of the phone which seems to lock it completely. Only way to get it working is to take the battery out wait then start again.

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! On my fourth replacement!

This phone is rubbish. I don't know why I insist in getting them all the time. They are so easy to use & look neat but the most unreliable phones in the world.

Every time I slide it up to access the numbers it goes crazy & turns off. If I slide it really slowly though sometimes it works. Haven't put it in to get fixed yet because I cannot be bothered. It'll just come back broken & I'll get angry. Just going to keep with the slow sliding thing. Cheers chiefs.

I really liked this phone when I got it in February, thought it was the best phone I ever had. But 3 months later it started turning off & on, would restart its self, buttons wouldn't work. Few weeks after the slide has broken & I can't use the keys, or type numbers. I don't get any calls & nor do others, my texts coming in bout 3 to 5 hours after they been sent. I thought it was because I used it to much, so I only used to use it at night to check missed calls etc & it's just getting worse.

It would be a really good phone if it didn't keep braking on me. Wish I could change it, it's useless to me now. I advise you don't get this phone.

I have had this phone since October 2007 & I am away to be on my forth replacement. I have tried the updates from Sony website on a couple of occasions & yes it would make a difference for a couple of weeks & then I would be back to square 1! For all you people who say the phone is brilliant & not to listen to the people with bad reviews, you must have just been the very few people lucky enough to have got a good batch of these phones as the W910i is appalling. I would have to say my phone turns its self off everyday & I feel really sorry for the people who have experienced the phone turning itself off every minute as that must be so bloody frustrating! I always get the inactive SIM & operation failed when it comes to SMS!

I would strongly advise not to get this phone unless Sony has made serious changes to the software on this model.

I have had this phone for nearly 9 months & I use it every day in terms of a phone of course as well as using the Walkman function daily & using Vodafone Live.

I love the phone the menus are good & the layout functionality excellent. I did have an issue with the phone within 2 months but this was swapped out straight away by Vodafone. I have a number of friends on other networks & it would appear a number of people have had issues but this maybe related more to the network operator & in some circumstances the manufacturer.

Vodafone I believe do a lot more testing than other network operators & for me this is the one of the best phones I have had.

Thoroughly recommended by me. Enjoy.

I got this phone in February on contract with Orange & up till now had only a few minor faults with it.

When I first got it the battery life wasn't good died after 2 days but with charging it more the battery life improved slightly! After using it for a few weeks noticed it started getting slow when sliding the phone up, then the menu wouldn't appear when trying to use it!

I thought that might have been because I was using it all day every day but then it started restarting itself! It done it once or twice then stopped so I forgot about it!

Yesterday was it D Day! My phone was OK in the morning I sent a few texts & left it as I don't use it much now. I went to use it in the afternoon & then it started!

Every 10 seconds it would restart all by itself! I switched it off took the battery out & my SIM thinking it was something to do with them. I replaced both & it kept doing it! After 30 minutes of restarting it wiped my memory card & contacts! Lucky I had the USB converter for my memory card & found the phone just didn't want to read the card so I didn't lose anything except my contacts!

I done a search on Google for the W910i & found out that Sony Ericsson & Orange recalled some batches of the W910i as the found out there were problems with the phone! (wish someone let me know).

I took it back to phones for you today & they have sent it away to be repaired free of charge (unless the find something wrong that was my fault! ).

The phone is sleek looking & has some great features but the camera is very poor & lets the phone down!

I am now looking for something better any ideas?

I just wanted to ask, does anyone know whether Sony Ericsson have an email address or something for customer feedback, reviews, because I would like to suggest that they put a secrecy function on their phones, like what Samsung have, so you can have the options to put have passwords to access your messages, call log etc. If they were to add this feature to their phones I know me & my friends would definitely invest in buying Sony Ericsson's rather than unreliable Samsungs! Does anyone agree?

Like a lot of others writing reviews, I have been a mobile phone user since the early 90's so have seen phones come from being just an item to make a call to being the all round must have item. I use my phone every day & take it with me everywhere, so feel I can write an honest review.

So I like the Walkman music player it is very adjustable & has multiple settings & an equaliser, I load it up with 3 or 400 songs from my computer (using the lead & software provided) & play back through either my home stereo or my car radio. The camera is OK but really could use a flash, but this is a music phone first & not a camera phone. It is small light & unobtrusive in your pocket & has all the needed features for contacts, calendar stopwatch etc. The games using the motion control will keep you amused or infuriated for hours.

I find the menu & operating system very intuitive, but while the phone has a quality feel when it slides open, I doubt it will survive forever as there is so much packed into a small handset, but then most of us change every 12 to 24 months anyway.

I have had it 9 months & am not looking to change. Yet.

This is the worst phone I have ever had, it always turns its self off & then back on, & then back off etc.

I've had to take it back to Carphone Warehouse a number of times but they won't give me a different phone as it is on contract. I have had about 6 different w910i's & each one has the same faults. They all turn themselves on & off, the camera is appalling & most of my features don't work as it says operation failed so you have to master reset the phone, which means you lose everything. I've had to do this about 5 times, just randomly I'll click on my inbox & it will say operation failed.

My phone is next to me now, & it's just said inactive sim & turned its self off. This is about the twentieth time it has happened in the space of five minutes. I would not recommend this phone to anyone, it honestly is a pile of rubbish.

I have had this phone for 3 months now on Vodafone & I've not had any problems with it at all. I love the Walkman, the design is brilliant & I find the keypad very usable. The large screen is excellent & I would find it hard going back to anything smaller. The camera isn't great & could've done with having a flash but its good enough & you can improve photos once they've been taken. My phone doesn't freeze or switch itself off & I find the volume is loud enough. Maybe I've just been lucky.

I have wanted this phone for a while now, & when I read these reviews I wasn't so sure. two girls at my school have this phone & are happy, I think one has been repaired & they got them at Christmas. maybe the faulty phones were a bad batch? Also, maybe the people whose phones have broken write the reviews because they are not happy with them & they need people with the same problems, whereas the people whose phones have been working smoothly don't bother to comment.

And one more thing, I think it looks fragile so maybe people need to treat it with a little more respect if they drop it & it breaks.

I did not read the reviews before I purchased this phone. When I read the reviews after the purchase, I was a little worried. Now that I have used it for a few weeks, I guess I could give it a fair assessment.

- This should be a great phone BUT the earpiece volume is not satisfactory at all. Now my friends have learnt to shout at me to be heard. I think this is a fatal flaw.

- I have to practise texting with one hand. I discovered that you have to hit right at the centre of the key to register the letter & number.

- the battery has to be charged every other day though I never speak on my mobile for more than 45 per day on average.

- This observation is curious indeed. During the first week of my purchase, I thought the Walkman key was not working since I could not turn on the Walkman function by pressing the key. I was about to take the phone back for exchange. But then I accidentally hit the Walkman button twice, one short & then an extended tap. & bingo, the Walkman key functions! I also have to hit the Volume key twice to get the Phone Status as instructed in the manual.

- the auto rotate function is slow unless the environment in which the phone functions is well lit.

If my hearing is a little better, I wouldn't mind buying this phone again. This phone provides good value for money. & it is such a beautiful phone. However, I don't think it is polite to get strangers shout at you & thus I don't think I would get it again.

I got the phone the first day it came out, & since I've had it, it's been nothing but trouble. It has spent more time in the Sony Ericsson repair shop than with me. Sony have even written to the man in my phone shop saying that they don't know what the problem is & they cannot fix it, but they refuse to let me simply exchange the phone. All they will do is a software update & I know this won't fix it because I do it at home!

Don't buy this phone, it's a complete waste of time & money. It's put me off Sony Ericsson completely.

This phone is overall, a great piece of kit. Great design with the slide opening feature & flush keypad buttons. Admittedly the camera isn't great but I bought it mainly for the updated Walkman software. However I've had a few issues with it since I first bought it. First of all a few of the keypad buttons were faulty & the Walkman software didn't work properly a few days after taking it home. I got a new one straight away from the shop I got it from & for a few months it worked perfectly. Then I had a problem getting in to my text menus, & didn't receive texts when I should have done. Luckily a friend told me that it was a common problem with these models & instructed me how to master reset it using an old SIM card & it fixed the problem. Next, it wouldn't start up properly & got stuck on the welcome screen. Again, I master reset it & it fixed the problem. Today my text messaging menus have failed AGAIN & I have to take it into the store for them to fix, hopefully for good! If it didn't have these problems, it'd be great!

Okay, you may know me as I review phones. Okay, the w910i Walkman Phone from Sony Ericsson is the best phone that Sony Ericsson have produced, especially for Vodafone.

It is a small compact phone, with the added shake me technology, it delivers the good standard for music. Its VGA video camera is amazing with an anti frame (slowing up), so the camera will not freeze. 3G & very thin & light 86g.

Okay, there are annoyingly bad features, e.g. The keyboard is at an angle & radio isn't too good, but apart from that & yes, it does freeze for like a few moments, want to know why? It's just resetting & refreshing, all phones do that, even the really bad iPhone does!

It's got MSN! & I will now sum this up.

This Phone makes a good all rounder, good for music & it's good for it's cute unlike the new W350i.

I recommend It & I will give it 8 out of 10.

I feel so sorry for those bad luck people who suffer from the phone problems. I've written the review for this phone before & I am not here to flow or against any of the comments. I just want to give some tips & solutions for anyone who have the phone.

& hey, can't believe there is people who have had as many as 8 replacements, that's amazing! Is this real?

OK, if you are a Nokia ex lover, you certainly find texting with this phone is a disaster but hey, I was a Nokia & Samsung ex lover too & I spent roughly few hours to get use to it.

Tips, prerequisite, a computer, the Internet & of course a little knowledge of how to use them.

- Keep the phones memory at least 50% free by moving all the removable applications, themes, videos n ringtones to your memory card (if you don't know how to move the files then no wonder you have problems with the phone).
- Keep the memory card by at least 30% free & VERY IMPORTANT, Defrag the memory card using disk defragmenter from your Window (Operating System). (if you don't know how to, again, no wonder you have problems).
- Update your phone firmware or software by using supplied Sony Updater or download it from Sony Ericsson website. Surely, the manufacturer is working on it, that is why I have had my third updates already & I noticed great improvement, the phone runs smoothly now.

My statistic.
- 1st & 2nd week, shutdowns 3times per week, freeze 4 times per week.
- After do as above, ZERO issue occur since then (it's been 3 months).

So, good luck people, & hey, if the phone is so bad it wouldn't get the prize best phone of 2007 by GSM association!

This phone is relatively nice from a cosmetic perspective, however, in so far as the software is concerned, the phone is undoubtedly all hype & nothing to back that up with! It freezes randomly & frequently, & it sporadically crashes & switches itself off. Usually when you least expect or need it to do so! Certainly not worth the RRP as a pay as you go phone, fortunately for me I have my phone on contract so I haven't blown much money on this junk, & I can replace it in 11 months. Believe me, I am counting down the days! Don't buy this phone at any cost, whether on contract or PAYG.

I have only had this phone for 4 days but I have to say it's an amazing phone.

I was currently using the W700i & I knew that I wanted to stay using a Sony Ericsson brand as they have the best technology with Walkman.

This phone has everything I could possibly want in a phone.

- Shake control.
- Sense me.
- Album covers on song.

Are just great extras.

I bought this phone from a 02 store & it had extra themes & wallpapers & my settings were set immediately as I turned the phone on.

Also with been a 02 customer for longer I could either get a £2.50 discount or £5 free credit, I chose the latter.

This phone is incredible I have had no problems with it although it did lose signal & turn off & switch back on again but all my phones have done that before.

I would recommend this phone.

This is a really nice looking phone! BUT well I never! HOW MANY FAULTS CAN ONE PHONE ACTUALLY HAVE!

I got this phone in November 2007 & have 6 YES 6 replacement handsets because each one has faults!

The MP3 player on it is magic, but if you want to make phone calls & send text don't buy this phone!

The shake it to wake it looks good but sometimes sticks on the side!

It's a rubbish phone! I want rid of it!

If you know how to use it you can get lots of games & themes on the phone which makes a good toy but if you want a mobile you can use don't buy it!

If this phone worked it'd be the best phone on the market provided you aren't fussed about a camera! I've had 4 of these phones in six months because of the numerous faults with them. What's worse is that because there are so many faults Orange say they won't replace it for another model until I've had the same fault 3 times. I've had 4 different ones so far! No matter how much you like the look of this phone it just isn't worth the hassle. I am lumbered with it for another year according to Orange & I expect to have at least another 8 replacements in that time. The only good news about it is that it has a 2 year warranty, so don't let anyone tell you it can't be replaced! If you've got any sense, DON'T BUY THIS PHONE IT'S AWFUL! I'll never have another Sony Ericsson again. Nokia or Samsung for me next time!

The phone is amazing. I've had my phone almost 6 hours now, & wow. I've never taken to a phone this quickly. I am already addicted to the w910i, & I've sent over 100 text messages already! (I am on contract, by the way.) I think the phone is the sleekest & stylish one on the market at the moment & its usability is just something of another world. Brilliant!

The features are very good for this phone, although it could do with a flash for the camera, much like the K750i. Other than this, the phone is brilliant. I must remember this is a Walkman phone & not a Cyber shot phone. Something you must remember as well. The man in the Vodafone shop said this to me.

The K850i & W910i are practically the same phones, in different designs. If you're a big fan of cameras etc, get the k850i, if you're more of a music lover, get the W910i. Although I am more of a camera user, I decided to go the opposite choice. This was a gamble, but it's paid off.

Many have reported freezing & random turning off with the phone. My phone has turned itself off twice in 6 hours, but I think this is due to the fact I was a little too happy with the SenseMe technology, & I kept changing the tracks. I would have shut off if someone did that to me.

Honestly though, I'd recommend this phone to absolutely everyone. It's fantastic. It's slick. It's sleek. It's a Sony Ericsson.

What more can be said!

I have had this phone since Christmas & about a month after that my games didn't work & my phone keeps turning off & then changing my theme. Also I have blank messages on my outbox & my inbox that if clicked will restart the phone. Sony Ericsson should try & sort this out considering the phone has been out for a long time now, & yet they still continue bringing out new phones, when they could go wrong as well. I would take it in for repair but it takes 2 weeks & I can't go without a phone for that long.

This phone is the best I have had, but the software is really rubbish.

Well, what a waste of time & money, bought this piece of rubbish 4 months ago. Big mistake, at first everything is okay, camera not so good for the price (£260), Walkman is nice but rubbish sound quality & very laggy interface. Motion sensor is nice but slow to react. Motion games are alright but only one game with motion sensor! If you're going to bring out something innovative in a mobile you might as well stretch it!

I am waiting for my second w910i, last one randomly switching off & sliding jams for no reason. Hope fully when I get it delivered the interface will be fast & the phone will stop freezing. Don't buy it, you will regret it!

This phone is OK but there's a few dead pixels & the Internet doesn't work sometimes the design is good but it feels a bit fragile like if you touch the buttons they will just fall off.

I think it isn't as good as the w850i but it has a bigger screen & it was cheaper than the w850i.

If you haven't got this phone yet you should get the w890i.

The phone looks great, the design is a tiny bit wide but is still very good. The features it offers are very good & offer a lot of flexibility. The usability is AWFUL. The phone offers everything except for the fact that it doesn't actually work!

It won't hold a line, it won't accept commands & it will not hold shortcuts. Add this to the fact that it randomly reboots itself & quite often can't read the memory card it is the worst Sony Ericsson ever.

I have been a Sony Ericsson user since the T68, the phones have always been great. My old W850i is probably the best phone I have ever had. The W910i is the WORST.

After 3 new W910i's in 3 weeks I have had enough, the latest phone lasted a matter of hours before it started going wrong. & so it is going back to Orange again, only this time I have to choose something else.

It is a shame but I will probably never have an Sony Ericsson phone again such is my disappointment.

I got the phone just after Christmas & within a week I had it replaced as there were a number of functions missing such as the shake control. Since getting a replacement I have had ongoing problems, Firstly there was no text messaging function on the phone, I could only make phone calls. Once that was update the phone seemed to run perfectly for 2 or three months. In the 2 months, my text messaging functions have been failing & I had been advised to reset all the settings. Since resetting the settings I have lost the menu that appears on the main screen which gives quick access to phonebook etc, I cannot access my Walkman through the button at the top of the phone or in the main menu itself. Orange music store does not allow me to access it & all the games have deleted from my phone!

In all I would not recommend buying this phone as all I have had are problems with the software. Even the network provider doesn't seem to know what has happened & I have been on the phone to them every night for the last two weeks trying to get it resolved.

As soon as I saw this phone I wanted it so upgraded & got it, what a huge mistake! At first it was OK but 6 weeks later the problems started.

- Unknown cause the slide was stiff so sent it in for repair, returned telling me they would not repair it because the top part of the phone was warped, I explained there was no cause for this as the phone was well looked after as they could see from the condition but they would not repair it.

-Lost some pixels on screen, once again sent for repair.

- Phone started freezing & jamming more than usual then 5 hours later totally jammed & now none of the buttons will work.

I have now been told the phone has to be sent back to Sony Ericsson for repair.

All I can say is that this is the first & last time I will ever purchase Sony Ericsson, Nokia or Samsung for me I am afraid!

The best phone I ever own, fun to play, beautiful design & colour, people always have the eyes on the phone when I am using it.

TIPS, who said the memory card causes freeze problem? Rubbish. Keep the phone memory at 50% free, if you currently have less than 50% free, move the files to memory cards. I am using 2GB memory card, I can assure you it helps your phone run faster, forget about freezing issue or auto shut down.

This phone is great. I know a couple of mates with this phone & they say they have no problem with this phone at all so I don't know why several people are having freezing problems.

I think I am going to get this phone in white. I am not sure if they have sorted the freezing problems with the white one because that one is new.

I think I am definitely going to get this phone. I was going to get the W760 but I thought it had too much on it for my use of phones so.

If you are thinking of buying this phone & trying to get some information on this site. Here's the fact, people who are using this phone are either love it very very much or loathe it badly.

I am one of you who found this phone attractive & would like to own one. I actually own it now & bought it after saw the review on this site already.

The truth is I love the phone, love the features, love the designs & all of the WOW factors such as motion sensor, shake control & sensme that some also think rubbish.

now, here is my experience, I own it for 1 week now. First few days the phone works as perfect as one could be, then when I started messing up by loading songs, themes, applications, etc. I started to get problem such as shutting down & freeze (I have Sandisk 2GB).

Here is the truth, updating firmware does not help. I found it just like a computer, no matter how big the RAM is but the CPU is slow then your computer end up freezing, shutting down. Try not to over load the device with too much stuff, downloading or connecting with the PC suite for long time. I promise it does help.

P.S. This is not camera phone, don't keep your hope up for this. It is amazing music phone, fun to play & loaded with cool accessories.

I got this phone as a Christmas present & from then on it has been a downhill roller coaster ride.

First of all the phone started turning of itself, for example I was in the process of an important conversation & next thing it vibrated as a signal of it restarting.

Then I decided maybe the only way to stop this was to like reset the phone. The BIGGEST MISTAKE, I lost all my GAMES & I can't even reinstall new ones, all it says is application failed!

Then the Walkman button stopped working, stopping me from accessing my music, I had to update it via the Internet. Then my phone stopped sliding but its back to normal now.

Except from the fact that my phone turns off when it pleases & I have NO GAMES. This phone is officially RUBBISH for its price & I can't wait to get a new one.

I decided on one for my upgrade because of the unusual but smart styling, I have had only a slight software hitch, most of the bugs have been fixed with the latest updates.

The battery life is very good if you turn down the screen brightness a bit, the reviewing of video clips & photos are amazing when viewing full screen landscape, compared to my Samsung 3MP phone pictures are identical in quality & video is better. All in all a very good phone & like me try not to be put off initially by some bad reviews it seems 75% of phones are slated in bad reviews.

Everyone, don't buy this phone as for its price it has caused me so much trouble. From the beginning the battery life served just 7 hours on standby & it switched on & off by itself & when charging it only full charged to 97%. I wanted to at least fix the battery life since I live in another country & didn't purchase the phone from Malta. I agreed with the UK Sony Ericsson branch that I can send the battery & see if the problem is from there, I sent it on the 26th of January & till today 2nd May I haven't received any updates on the repair or the battery. Therefore I am still unable to use the phone for the last 4 months! They should be ashamed of offering such awful service, if you don't want to be a victim of awful customer care service don't buy this phone.

I love the look of this phone, but I am now on replacement number 3 because of numerous problems. I now just expect it to freeze or turn itself off about 3 times a day because it always does & the one I have just now decides sometimes it doesn't want to send my texts & sends them to drafts instead & I find them hours later! Its so frustrating because I like it, but it's really not worth the hassle. Don't get it. I am stuck with it!

I got this phone as a Christmas present & it was really good. Everything worked fine & I had no problems, then things started to play up in late March. The phone kept freezing & I had to keep restarting it. A few weeks later I tried to go on my applications & it said 'operation failed' this also happens with the games & the 'sence me' has stopped working too. I went onto the website to try to restore original settings but no change. I have no replaced this phone with the LG PRADA & it is really good & practical to use. I would recommend the Prada phone because the w910i brings nothing but problems.

I am very disappointed with this mobile phone. I've only use it for less than 3 months. In less than a week I bought this phone, it keeps switching off by itself. Then I got it replaced by the seller. & this second phone only lasted for 2 months. At first it kept switching off by itself & I can't use it at all. Then I tried to update the software from the Sony Ericsson website, but it failed & now my mobile phone is totally dead! & the very best part of it is that Sony Ericsson in Canada doesn't carry this type. & it'll cost me $165 CDN to fixed it. What a pricey mobile phone!

I have had this phone for over a week now, so far I have noticed a couple of software bugs but nothing major which I couldn't live with. The battery life isn't that great with it needing to be charged at least every two days with a average usage. But the design & features on this phone are amazing.

I would only get this phone if you're looking for a phone with style but willing to take chance with the current issues it has.

I have Figured Out Why Phones Keep On Freezing It's Because There Is A Program On There That Is Doing It. I Had the Nokia 6280 & every time I went to play the game bomberman it kept turning off & it really annoyed me, so I deleted the app & it worked fine, I even did this with the Samsung e900 & the Sony Ericsson K750i, if the problem happens again & you are not doing anything. Restore your phone or update it using the software provided in the box & try doing that. If the problem consists on doing this then see which things it does it & put a phone antivirus program on there that is on many websites, like the Samsung d900 has, hope this helps you Sony Ericsson lot out?

The features of this phone are great & its easy to use & has fun extras etc, but I have had to send it in once already because the screen broke just from it being in my pocket, & part of the outer casing is starting to come off, to be honest it's falling apart.& the speakers aren't very loud at all. I have only had the phone since Christmas!

I recommend it for people who maybe don't use their phone much or it just stays in their their bag most the time, not for people who will use it a lot or keep it in thier pocket or loose in a bag.

This phone looks really good & the slide is smooth. The shake function is silly but a half decent gimmick I suppose.

What I have a problem with is:
- the rubbish camera (& lack of macro mode).
- the suspect amount of memory this phone actually has, it lags ridiculously if you're playing music & trying to send a messsage.
- the fact it turns itself off randomly (at least 3 times a week for me).
- the inactive sim' error that means turning the phone on & off (again at least 3 times a week).

My friend & I are both on Orange & we had 7 of these phones between us before we changed to Nokia 6500 slide. The only problem I've had with the Nokia is it sometimes loses connection to the memory card but that can be solved by prying out the connector on the back cover (as explained in the 6500's reviews).

This phone is completely rubbish. I bought this phone for my daughter in November 2007, when we took it out of the box & left it on charge we couldn't turn it on at all. We took it back to the shop & got a replacement. My daughter has never been able to get access to her pictures & now can't even get into her messages, or even send messages. I am going to try & restore it back to factory settings. Only buy this phone if you want a lot of grief with it. She has got the same problem as most where the screen keeps freezing. It's quite worrying when you can't get hold of your kids when they are out, as they haven't realised the phone has froze.

I knew this phone had a lot of problems with it but I decided to chance it because I really liked it. Two of my friends have the same phone & neither of them have had a problem.

I bought the new white one & I was reassured in the shop that its software would be up-to-date & that I would have no problems with it anymore.

However, a close friend of mine (who is a phone geek) said that this fault is with the model & updates in software wouldn't solve the problem.

I have had this unbranded phone for 3 days now. I have played on it constantly & so far, I have noticed a couple of bugs but nothing which would really wind me up.

I ABSOLUTELY love this phone & I really really hope that I don't end up with some of the problems people have reported on here.

P.S. Someone told me that the bugs happen more often if people have a lot of memory used on it & use lots of applications. I only use a phone to text & make calls so I am hoping it will be OK.

I got this phone last weekend as part as my birthday present & it's amazing. It easy to use, text & listen to music. The volume is great it's loud & you get a Bluetooth connection to listen to music in your earphones with. It's my best phone & very reliable. Camera is brilliant only 2 mega pixels but looks like 5!

Good Games As well. Screen is very bright & colourful.

All My Friends are jealous!

It comes with its USB cord so you can download music & games quickly & its fun. Battery is fairly good, says it lasts around 5 hours but if you're listening to music it lasts around 3 to 5 hours. All in all it's a really good phone. Buy It Now!

Well, honest opinion. Lucky users get a good set that doesn't turn on & off on its own. 50% of the users are lucky? Play safe, don't buy this phone. I don't own the phone but from all these negative reviews, I wouldn't want to risk so much of my cash for a rubbish phone that switches on & off as I am text messaging person. The only attractive thing about this phone is most probably the design & the screen. So what about the screen? It looks nice, but then, what? Can't do anything special other phone can't do right? I seriously recommend w890i instead. It looks nice & sleek, have a better camera too. It doesn't hang or switch on & off as & when the phone feels like it.

IT WORKED FOR ME! Maybe a solution to RED LIGHT stays on & phone crashes (W910i ).


- I noticed my phone worked perfectly when I took my memory card out (memory card did have a lot of stuff on it).

- Turn phone off & insert memory card (I started deleting stuff on the memory card, keeping the minimum stuff I wanted).

- Turn my phone on & it is working perfectly.

CONCLUSION is Sony have designed a good phone but MAYBE cannot handle 1GB of memory. IT WORKED FOR ME.

My daughter had this phone on contract from Orange on 23rd December, 2007. By 6th January she had to change it because it kept switching itself off & freezing. As it was less than 28 days old it was changed without any problems. She is now experiencing exactly the same problems with the new handset & can only switch the phone back on if she removes the battery & replaces it. She took it back to her local store who supplied the phone & they will only send it off for repair. I have tried to point out to them that this would appear to be a common fault with this model but no one will admit this, even though I pointed out that my daughter knows someone who works for Orange who has told her that they are having this phone returned regularly. I have also found reports on the Internet that Sony & Orange were aware of 'significant' issues with this phone some months ago. My daughter took her phone to an Orange store close to her university yesterday to be told that there is a 4 week waiting time with Sony Ericsson phones for repairs. Have e mailed Watchdog at the BBC to see if they will follow up the story. If anyone else is having problems please contact them. If enough of us do then maybe someone will do something, which isn't happening to date.

I really don't know why this phone has such terrible ratings. All everyone is doing is focusing on bad points instead of good.

Good Points.
- Incredible message memory. Yet to fill my inbox with over 400 messages saved.
- the look of the phone is just amazing. Best there is anyone can tell you that.
- Music is great, loads of songs can be held.
- Extra handy features like the ability to have any colour scheme you want unlike the disgusting Orange menus of Samsung or the rubbish that Nokia are now offering as a background.
- Ability to record phone conversation. Useful if you want to catch someone out.
- Brilliant Internet. I go on Bebo all the time & it's easy as pie.
- Such easy navigation, anyone could work it.

Bad points
- Not the best battery I can get about 2 days out of it with using the phone quite a bit. But what do you expect with such a high quality screen to run.
- the reports of the phone freezing & switching off. I don't know what to say. I have experienced my phone switching off twice since I got it, which was a bit annoying but hardly a big issue. You turn it back on & away you go. Nothing to get in a tizz over.

These people who are complaining about the phone turning off or freezing, how often does this happen. No exaggeration or anything just as accurate as you can be? I am curious to know because for me once a week, which doesn't bother me at all. So am I just lucky or is it something the rest of you can't put up with?

Oh & I here also the software can be updated so that none of these problems occur ever? anyone tested this?

This phone is not bad, problems with the camera, unable to zoom when in 2MP or 1MP mode. Too dark only 2.5 x zoom. Music is medium quality though it's loud. Screen is Big! But fingerprint magnet. Buttons, SMS rather difficult though. As it's flat on the board. Overall A RATHER good phone

I am with Vodafone & when my phone started freezing, I returned it to the store & it came back absolutely fine & I have had no problems since.

I am thinking of buying this phone instead of my very poor & rubbish V640i, also Sony! But this phone seems to have as many problems as my current one does!

I was reading these comments with interest. I have this phone for about 5 weeks & I have never had any problem like some of the comments stated. The only problem I have is the ring tone is not loud enough. When I put it in my coat pocket & driving with the radio on, I missed calls. Maybe it is actually good as I won't talk on the mobile phone whilst I am driving. My phone is the bronze colour one & maybe it has all the updates already.

I bought the phone on 2 Feb 2008. Under the 7 days Purchase Guarantee, I have changed for a new phone for 3 times. Now, it is the 4th phone. After upgrading the software & checking from Sony Ericsson, it is totally disappointed that the problem is still have, suddenly switches off when you switch on, have the voice & video call, download the media file, see the picture or listen to the MP3.

I like this phone for the design & colour (bronze) is very satisfactory. However, I intend to change another brand or model for I cannot tolerate its malfunction.

I had recently changed from having he K800i & decided I would try a Walkman & this looked & sounded the best option. After about hmmm 10 days I had the Message not sent problem, this is where all of the message feature were not available or accessible (very Annoying! ). I began to read into the problems about the W910i & it became clear buying this phone was a BIG mistake. Many people stated that branded mobiles were prone to problems mine being a Three Mobile looked as that was true. I didn't want to part with the mobile (even if it was only 10 days old LOL) so I looked on Sony Ericsson site & they said that an update was available to fix all these problems I.e. Messaging, freezing, screen problems & whatever else. After completing the update I have received no problems making the mobile most probably one of the best I've ever had. The new update was released in February 2008 & was released to stop all the software issues which had become clear to Sony Ericsson. Now the W910i has been saved from all of these setbacks the phone has shown to be a very good mobile so my advice is use the update option when buying or even if you have the phone with or without problems & fingers crossed you will be saved from any Sony Ericsson rubbish manufacturing. P.S. Most of the complaints with software issues have occurred on Orange branded mobiles whether this is a factor to consider. Thanks Depo.

I have gone back to three where I got the mobile from & they have said that it is my sim & then I have gone to optus & they have changed my sim about 3 times, I don't know what I should do. I think it's really stupid that people are complaining about the phone breaking the first time they use it. When you buy a phone you charge it up without using it. You would know this if you read the manual. Of course it's going to break it you mess around with it before it's been charged for the first time. I think this phone is amazing.

I got this phone for Christmas & was really impressed with it. It looks great & is really easy to use which is something new for Sony Ericsson's in my mind.

The screen is fantastic & can display brilliant colours. The music player is also awesome.

However about a month after I got it it started to freeze, shut down & display a red light on the back. The phone then comes back on only to do it a second time. This time it requires you to take the battery out to get it going again.

I have also had a couple of problems with buttons not working (mostly the volume & shortcut button) requiring the battery to be removed & replaced to get them to work.

I am really disappointed & will be taking the handset back to the retailer tomorrow.

I got this phone for Xmas & by NewYear's Day it had crashed. I couldn't send or view any messages, I just kept getting the message Operation Failed! I contacted Orange who sorted the problem out. Within a 3 week period it crashed at least 5 times. So frustrating!

All my photos have disappeared & my phone is constantly freezing. Today my phone will not turn on at all & I am just getting the flashing red light.

I have contacted Orange & they are sending me a replacement phone within 24 hours, so I can't complain. Hopefully the new phone will work better, if not I will be asking for a different handset.

I got this phone & loved it at first but it had its moments when it just froze. The screen can break very easily as I put it in my bag, took it out again & the internal screen was broken & costs me £60 to repair. Not good!

This is an absolutely great phone, I have had none of the problems other people have complained about. Except when I first got it & it was on the charger it froze up & didn't respond when I tried to do anything, however when I left it alone until it was fully charged it was fine.

The sensme & shake control are nice buy completely pointless, & only interesting when you first get the phone.

All in all it is a great phone & I have not had any problems with it.

Absolute rubbish! The phone kept freezing with the red light on, as many people had said. This was inconvenient & then, days ago, it froze & now will not turn on at all! The phone features are excellent! (When they work) All of my friends loved the phone at first, & then they started saying, what's the point.

& I was like, well it's cool! I can shake it!

But now! I am saying the same question. I hate it once you get past the shake & stuff. In my opinion, I would get a nice trusty Nokia. I am getting rid of my W910i & getting either a Nokia 6110 NAVIGATOR, or a Nokia N73.

Don't BUT IT. THERE ARE PROBLEMS & ONCE YOU GET PAST the FLASHY FEATURES, you WILL REGRET BUYING IT!

I love the look of this phone its sleek gets loads of attention when left on the table or taken out of my pocket. But that is about all.

I have been using my phone now for three months & had no problems for the first month, every day now I am having trouble & I am on my third gold handset in as many weeks.

- the screen freezes.
- My pictures go all pixelated from time to time.
- the screen doesn't show anything sometimes although it's working.
- the red light on the back keeps flicking on & off.
- Internet sometimes fails on me.
- Bluetooth shuts down on me.
- Phone has shut down on me during business calls & it has taken me at the worst an hour to get my phone working properly again.

Sorry guys but for all its looks & design style the insides really need a rethink.

Its capacity to complete tasks the way it does, with such efficiency is amazing. The music player is great, the kit it comes with is more than useful, & using it as a normal phone is as doable as using your very first 3310, reliable as anything.

The camera is a mediocre snap happy camera, which you are going to be happy with if you're like me, taking pictures when you're out & about & generally viewing, using them within the phone itself. The one downside to this is obviously no flash, where I found myself last night wanting some pictures in a darkened room, & it just wasn't happening.

The buttons & general placing of the keys on the phone are sleek yet very usable, & I am pretty sure most capable people would get on fine with them.

The software updates now are geared so the phone has completely risen above the stumble it was reported of taking, when it randomly froze & turned off, buttons stopped working etc, & I was quick to make sure of this, as this was my main reservation about the phone. But, it seems nothing is wrong anymore!

Slim, stylish, unique & reliable, if you can get this phone at a reasonable price (I'll say £150 around) or as an upgrade or something, I wouldn't bat an eyelid. Go for it.

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! Mine arrived today, & also broke today. I had it plugged into the charger whilst having a play with it & all hell broke loose. The screen went bust, lines appeared all over it & although I could call, I could barely see the screen to do so. The backlight did not work unless I altered the Brightness in settings, but once I had changed it (either increasing or decreasing) it went off again. The light behind the buttons did not work at all. I was unable to turn the phone off at all. & then once I removed the battery (to turn it off) & put it back in, it would not turn back on again. During the short while I managed to keep the phone on for the screen kept blacking out, & sliding the phone open & close wouldn't turn it on.

These are just a few of the problems I experienced in the 3 hours it was on. Perhaps I didn't give it enough of a chance, but to be honest I was so fed up with it by then, it is not back in its box & getting collected from me as soon as poss.

I've battled with t mobile for almost an hour on the phone, they replaced me a like for like replacement. But after reading these reviews highlighting other problems, I am fighting for a different model all together.

My previous Sony was the best phone I have ever had; durable, great battery life, easy to use. This has been a complete waste of time & effort & should be avoided at all costs. Trust me!

Happy with my 810i but got this as a logical upgrade as I use the MP3 player daily & hardly ever use the camera. Compared with the 810i the MP3 player is better, though the sensme & shake control are pointless, the radio is better & the phone part works as a phone so it does what it says on the box. Meanwhile pictures I have taken with the camera are good for a phone (printable) though I miss the autofocus, & can't remember when I last used the flash so won't miss that. It's also a well built, good looking phone, with a modern design. Could have changed it for a N95 but decided to stay with the 910i.

This is a terrible phone, please don't buy it! It looks fantastic but I too have had the same problems as others, I.e. The phone would just shut down, screen goes blank & the red light at the back flashes. Also, the shortcut key does not work! The first handset I got in November & within a few days, the phone stopped working. T mobile sent me another handset & after about a week the same problems happened. Then in Jan 08, after complaining, T mobile sent me a third handset & once again the same problems happened! I couldn't believe it! I wish I had read the reviews about this phone before hard! Finally, today, after complaining yet again, T mobile have agreed to give me a different model altogether as I just did not want another W910 handset. Please don't buy this phone!

I've been using this phone for about a month & a half now & haven't experienced it freezing or switching itself on & off. This is a lovely looking phone & got quite a lot of attention whenever left on the table. The only downfall is the battery life (I've to charge it every day) however I do use the Bluetooth daily but not that it should affect the battery life too much. Also I am a camera person so was a bit disappointed with the 2MP, although it's a Walkman phone so can't complain too much! Overall I'd recommend this phone, not slate it.

This is the first Sony Ericsson I have ever had & I think it's great & they have came along way since releasing previous Walkman phones. This phone is really easy to use, & it doesn't feel plasticy unlike the w580i which feels very fragile.

Lots of different functions on this phone, great camera, Walkman player etc. I have had no problems with this phone & I have had it since its been released. Easy to text on unlike some other phones which are available at the moment.

Over all I think this is a great phone & a great buy.

I had this phone last October for my birthday & a couple of weeks later my camera smashed & there is no way to get it fixed I really like this phone but really fragile & I know this sound stupid but there are all marks & dents on it & I do not mishandle my phones. I had a Nokia 6611 in pink & when I came to have a new phone I sold it because it was in a really good condition & I had it for like 2 years. Also, my buttons are very hard to use & often stop working I wouldn't buy this phone. If you want a phone to last this is not the right phone.

Fantastic looking phone, great to hold, look at & touch.

Anyway, on my second one now though due to the resetting issue which the T Mobile people told was a problem with the initial releases but that Sony Ericsson have sorted now (Hmmm). I also found the buttons wore far too quickly & look unsightly in the dark because the backlight shines through the parts where the finish has rubbed off the buttons. The Walkman takes a long while to update after adding music & the menu can be slow when scrolling through you music. The battery life is nowhere near what is stated, & I've reduced the brightness settings on the beautiful huge screen to get more out of it. Also the speed dial doesn't dial if you hold the number key it is assigned to, you have to press that & then press the call button which I find strange as all other phones I've had (my first Sony Ericsson this) dial the number if you keep the button held.

All in all, I have to admit that even though it is a stunning looking phone & it just won best handset at the GSM Assoc. Awards 2008 (?) I am disappointed with it due to the obviously well documented fault & the issues I've raised in this rant, wasted a chance to have a true classic Sony, shame.!

PRICE, quite expensive, I paid £200 at the Carphone Warehouse, I do believe though that this phone should be around £150.

BUILD& LOOKS, this phone does look quite high end, surprisingly basic looking device, very thin which is quite nice, but the phone feels quite plasticy. The text buttons look very easy to use, unfortunately they are a pain, you have to type extra slow, because the buttons go down ever so slightly.

FEATURES, the features are quite good, the Bluetooth is quite slow. The camera is pretty basic & the camera shots do look quite nice thanks to the large crystal clear screen. The screen is nice & large but not as bright as previous models, but still bright enough for most. The speaker is extremely tinny. You can still hear the phone on a busy street but it sounds very cheap, for those looking for a juke box for a phone this is not the way to go. The preloaded games are nice but the marble madness game that uses motion sensor is not so good. It is too slow to react.

Walkman PLAYER & VOLUME OUTPUT, the Walkman player is top class & so is the media manger section. Everything may look nice, but if you are in a rush you will probably throw your phone on the floor. Because it is so slow to show the list of artists & albums. Sense me is a nice feature but nothing to special, songs located in the sad section are not really sad the speed of the songs show up correctly on the grid which is nice. The sonic output is okay nothing to special the mega bass feature sound so very tinny & makes the bass sound very cheap, also while playing the track the album cover is very tiny.

CONCLUSION, although this phone is quite nice, it could do with a revamp. I would advise you to buy it when it drops in price.

Listen to other reviewers, do not buy this phone. I have too had no problems for first month, then began to encounter failures in accessing music & sending texts, three months in & now it's entered the red light flashing, turning on & off phase. Everyone I have spoken to with a W910i has had similar problems. This phone should be withdrawn as it is unfit for purpose. More than one month into a Contract & O2 says it cannot replace with new - only refurbished. No wonder the problems continue & continue as the underlying software fault is not attended to. I stress again, buy this phone at your peril.

I have had this phone for a while N Series (or better still a proper camera, far better picture quality than any phone) but the camera function works well within its limits. The night mode is very sensitive so it manages fine without a flash.

My only criticism is that the keys are a bit close for texting but the predictive text is the best I have ever used.

I got my in November its working fine till Xmas, & then one day it woke me up at night the red lights on & kept switching on & off I took it to the car phone warehouse for repair & got it back & flogged it for £120. I am so glad I sold it I am now using my old phone W850i I've had it for more than 1 year & its working fine. Do not buy this phone! It's not worth it.

I got this phone for Christmas, the first one I got didn't even work, & wouldn't stay turned on, the replacement arrived on the second, & exactly one month later it was freezing & wouldn't read any of my contacts, I am waiting on my 3rd one.

Also many people I know have this phone & have the same problems. DO NOT GET IT. It's lovely if, when it decides to work, but that's not very often!

If the next one breaks, I am going to request another phone, which I am sure it will.

Had this phone, first time round, about a month, went to send a message & it failed, tried to enter my inbox & got a message up saying operation failed! Called my provider & they told me to reset it, which caused me to lose all of my stuff on the handset! & that still didn't work. So they sent me a replacement, about 2 months later, the same problem! I really liked this phone, & out of the number of handsets I have had, this was by far the best! But with this problem keep happening, have had to send it back & swap it for a 'reliable' handset, back to the old faithful Nokia!

I am really annoyed with my phone & with the network I am on. I paid £210 for the phone expecting it to last more than 3 weeks. I have had many problems with the phone & the network. First of all I couldn't top up because they would know let me register my debit or top up card. My phone will not let me view my pictures videos or messages & just says failed & turns off! It will not let me go onto Walkman at all. I am very disappointed with the phone & will be taking it back to Orange later today hopefully getting a replacement or even a different phone.

Really love this phone, the design, the music player & it's really easy to use, the honeymoon period shows how great the phone would be if it would work properly but whatever you do STAY AWAY! All the bad reviews are true, it freezes, it needs charging every day, when it crashes it crashes big time, it has a mind of its own & switches itself on & off.

If your silly enough to buy one GOOD LUCK. Luckily enough I can take my back, I can't wait to do so in the morning.

I thought this was an amazing phone. The design is just flawless, the screen is lovely & crisp, the sound is great (no cracking) & it's just all over a great phone. The only problem I had was, all the options on my messages (inbox, outbox, etc.) often freeze, & an error message reading 'Operation Failed' will come up. The only way around this problem is to use the master reset. But even so, I still love this phone.

This phone at first seemed very good, & it was exactly what I needed! A month down the line the back of the phone is all worn out, the buttons are ALREADY wearing the lines off.

Then I tried playing my Walkman just this lunchtime & every time I try to play my music it says FAILED & I can't play it! However my friend has had the same problem & I am beginning to get the symptoms he had & had to send off for it.

Not looking good is it?

Looks the business & the features are great, but alas, just after my return period was up, it crashed & died, kept switching its self on & off with a flashing red light at the rear, O2 said they'd no reports of any faults else they'd recall them, liars, I wish I'd read the reviews previous. Just writing a quick note to let you know that this phone will not work with a Mac computer. My old Sony's, K750 & M600 both did but this one doesn't show up at all, even transferring data via Bluetooth doesn't go smoothly, with the connection continually being lost half way through the transfer. Otherwise seems OK. My Mac is OS 10.4.9 on a PPC G5.

I got this phone a few weeks ago. After a few days the games just disappeared altogether. After 2 weeks it kept switching itself on & off. This kept getting worse until it would not switch on at all! It is a shame as it is a great phone. On my second one now. After its first charge it would not switch on until I removed then replaced the battery. That is all so far. Fingers crossed!

I have had this phone for about 4 weeks & I love it. The phone is designed very well. People say the keypad numbers are to near each other but I can work them perfectly the phone is very loud & the shake control works great! But there are some troubles the menus in Walkman are very slow you have to wait for the phone to catch up when looking through music also the sense me doesn't work too great to get songs on it you have to burn them of a CD but I don't need that. The 2 megapixel camera works fine for me night mode makes it easy to use in the dark or poor light. Overall I am very happy with my phone. No problems so far, I have heard there is a software problem so fingers crossed!

Erm. Well I received my Phone Yesterday at 4:30. Had it going by 5. Started using it at 6:00 & the next day around 11:10. I clocked the camera was not working. It was completely pitch black. I was vexed for the rest of the day. As soon as I got home, I called t mobile, their sending another one out to be here tomorrow, but after reading below. I am getting a Nokia. I cannot stand bad quality stuff. Highway robbery this is!

Having read these reviews, I am glad I am not alone. Not fussed about the camera, but it's a hassle not being able to make phone calls! I had problems two days after receiving my first handset & got a replacement a few days later as I couldn't hear callers once I picked up the phone. Same thing happened with the replacement the day after I got it. The only way to rectify it was to remove the battery, not good. It's a shame as the phone was really sleek & I love the Walkman facility but I am going back to Nokia's.

I'VE ALWAYS HAD Nokia's. MY LAST (A 6280) WAS EVERYTHING I NEEDED. IT'S ONLY DRAWBACK WAS THAT IT WAS A BIT BULKY. WHEN I SAW the ADS FOR the W910i, I LIKED ITS OVERALL DESIGN & the SMALL SIZE SEEMED LIKE the ANSWER TO the Nokia's BULK. MY BIGGEST CONCERN WAS the IDEA OF SWITCHING MANUFACTURER. I READ AS MANY REVIEWS AS THERE WERE & DECIDED THAT the BAD ONES MIGHT JUST BE FROM the UNLUCKY MINORITY WHO GOT A BAD PHONE OFF the ASSEMBLY LINE. ERROR!

The DESIGN MIGHT BE GOOD, BUT the PHONE ISN'T. IT'S HOPELESS. BATTERY LIFE IS POOR. SIGNAL RECEPTION IS POOR. SPEAKER PHONE IS ESPECIALLY POOR. The Walkman ASPECTS ARE RUBBISH & SOUND QUALITY IS NAFF. IT'S TAKEN TIL NOW TO ADJUST TO Sony's OPERATING SYSTEM & TO CAP IT ALL, 3 MONTHS AFTER BUYING IT, IT'S NOW SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY & WON'T WORK. I upgraded to this phone in October it lasted 10 days then started to have a mind of its own, freezing, switching on & off & blank. You know the story by now there are enough of them. I am now on my third phone (if you can call it a phone).

02 say they don't know of any faults on the phones, that seems funny thousands do. DO NOT BUY ONE UNTIL THEY SORT the GREMLINS.

I had really high expectations for this phone as I previously owned a Sony Ericsson before & it lasted me a good few years without any problems. HOWEVER, as beautiful as it looks its rubbish! Within the first few days it started to freeze on me & randomly kept turning itself off which was a pain.

Orange sent me a replacement phone but the problem continued. But even worse I couldn't access my inbox, send or receive messages after I done the whole update service it still played up.

I then got another phone sent out to me, this was the worst of them all! It took me a good 10 minutes to try & make a call, & when I did it would just freeze half way through. I could never send messages without trying about 20 times, every time I would go to answer a call it wouldn't let me!

I've had enough of this phone within the space of 2 months I have had 3 of them, neither of which have been up to scratch. The camera is useless, you can't take pictures at night clubs etc. You'd expect them to at least put flash on it! The only good thing about this phone is the design it looks really good & sleek, it's just a shame the software isn't as good.

I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone, it's just full of constant problems!

Having same problems as other people seem to be having. Wasn't sure how to put it in to words but to quote Kirsty from Plymouth, UK I HAVE the TERMINATOR RED LIGHT, PHONE TURNS OFF, SCREEN GOES BLACK & FREEZES. Really annoying this, seems to be when you go in to an area without reception, phone just hangs with red light staying on. Need to remove battery to get it working again, also voice dialling with the hands-free button stops working on my phone if I record more than 15 names, annoying also. Sony really needs to release updates to fix these problems a.s.a.p. My phone is at the latest version as I did an update & it says my phone is at the latest version. Boo :- ( when it works, it's great though, pity it's a bit flaky!

I have had this phone now for about 4 months & I have not had any problems with it what so ever.

I think that it is a fabulous phone. The only fault that I think there is with this phone is that there isn't a flash for the camera, but this isn't everything.

I can honestly say, this is the best phone that I have had & the battery life is good too.

I don't know what everyone is on about I have had my phone now for about 3 months & I have had no problems with it at all. I don't know if this is because I updated it when I went on the web on it but it hasn't had any of the problems with freezing that have been said by other people & this maybe why.

This phone is an amazing phone better than my Nokia that I had last & it's easy to use 10 out of 10 :).

DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!

I took my contract out at the end of September sine then I am on my 3rd phone! It's a joke! I started off with the W580i within 3 weeks most of the buttons had cracked, when I returned it to the shop they didn't have any of the same model in so they offered me the new Walkman phone! Sounded good at the time, within 1 week of having that handset it was freezing & cutting in & out. I once again returned the phone to shop. After a couple of weeks or so after receiving my new one, it was resetting itself (screen goes blank, the red light on the back comes on) then funnily enough just after my 28 days return policy with the store was up. I couldn't send or receive text messages (operation failed). Once I'd been informed on how to solve that issue, I have then done it 5 TIMES since then! What a joke! My memory card has also stopped working & now my handset won't turn on at all. I took it back to the store & they inform me the handset has water damage! My phone has been nowhere near water & nothing has been spilt on it!

I contacted Sony Ericsson, Orange & phones 4 you & funnily enough only Orange are the ones that say they have had similar calls about the phone. The other two said they haven't had any!

I decided to upgrade & get this recommended phone on contract from the O2 shop last October. I started to use the phone in November. Today the red light has come on & the phone is switching on & off, itself. I thought this was a result of something that I had done. I can't view anything for more than say 30 to 40 seconds. I took this to the shop today & was told that I need to reset this. I have text messages that are saved to the phone that are needed for legal purposes, but I was told I would lose them once the phone resets.

After reading a lot of these reviews, I can see that a lot of people have been ripped off by Sony who must be working in tandem with these phone companies. Staff should be better trained when advising on the best phones to buy. I sympathise with everyone who has had these ridiculous problems & would like to know if anyone knows how to get the text messages off before a reset occurs.

Looks good, but that's about all its got going for it.

It's a rubbish phone, with bad memory that just messes up the contacts. After 2 weeks my phone's memory switched all my contacts around, so Vodafone replaced it, then two weeks & 1 day later after I got my new phone the same happened, but as I was 1 day out of my 2 week insurance they would not replace it. DON'T GET ONE, YOU CAN JUST HAVE MINE!

Don't even bother, with this PHONE if you plan on using bigger than 1 gig. I have a 4 gig, & it is a disgrace, unless you make a playlist it is virtually unusable, you have to wait until your music list to updates (ULTRA SLOW), (ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY).Sony Ericsson's design department should be FIRED for this abomination, it also has some software issues, if you want a good S.E Walkman phone cheap GET the w580i, much better, can't believe sold that for the w910i.

Had this phone for 2 months now & it's been 100% reliable. Battery life is good & no software problems of any kind.

Gripes, the shake function to change tracks is just a gimmick & doesn't work all that well. The 2MP camera is utter rubbish.

Other than that I would recommend this phone, however I think the W960i looks like a better prospect if you don't want a slide phone.

Do not buy this phone!

I bought this phone on contract in November, after two weeks it would not turn on & screen went blank & the keypad lit up! I then got a second handset!

2 weeks after having a NEW handset, it has broken! I cannot send or receive texts, look at my inbox, play games & my memory card does not work as I cannot open my pictures or music!

A few people I know are also experiencing the same problem. Take my advice!

Received this phone today, & encountered the same issues as many others have regarding the phone shutting down etc. After numerous calls to the manufacturer & phone supplier, the issue was resolved by going to Sony's website & downloading the latest software update for the phone :)

I didn't originally want this phone & wanted the downgrade to this one but changed my mind when I realised that I could buy it in red. I decided on the red Sony Ericsson on Orange & this was a huge mistake!

It's good looking & pretty fancy with the shake function but it doesn't actually work & you end up looking like a wally waving your arm around to change the track, only for it to rewind instead! I previously had the w810i & feel it is a worse phone than that, the screen & quality is good but it's only a 2 mp camera with no flash!

My boyfriend got a new phone too & got the Sony Ericsson cyber shot version which can actually take better pictures & hold just as many songs!

I will be returning my phone ASAP with hope to change it as now the bottom of the phone has become pixelated & it keeps switching the Bluetooth off.

I love Sony Ericsson phones but this is a letdown if you want a good phone get the new cyber shot it is 5 megapixel camera, can hold loads of songs & is touch screen, much more worthwhile!

I really love this phone. The motion sensors are amazing & great fun. I have only had this phone for a day but it freezes every time I use the Walkman. My first thoughts on the W910i were of the beautiful design, sleek & compact. Packed with everything you expect from Sony, good screen resolution etc. The only immediate letdown was the standard 2 MP camera with no flash & no auto focus. Other than that I was incredibly satisfied & felt that it was well worth the money (I paid £300). However it has now started switching itself on & off which is extremely annoying. I took it back to the shop & they sent it away for repairs. It came back absolutely fine but has now started switching off once again. I've been told that they can only repair it once & that the fault may be due to moisture in the phone. They asked if I had left it in the rain. I got annoyed I must say. I would not buy a £300 phone just to leave it outside in the rain. I told them this at the store but they wouldn't listen & insisted that it was my fault & they therefore couldn't fix it. I am extremely annoyed & I feel let down by Sony Ericsson. It's a lot of money to pay for a phone & you expect to get the best.

I was worried reading some of the reviews below about reliability but I can only say that my phone so far has been brilliant. Great design, looks cool & MP3 player is very good, as good as my iPod.

Camera is not the best, no flash. But in my opinion if you want to take good digital photos you use a proper camera as there is no optical zoom on any digital phone.

Only down side so far is that the battery seems to be discharging quickly.

I've had the phone for 1 week & so far, here are my observations.

On the positive side, the features are simply great. Sensme, shake control, quality of music, they are all great! The phone is light & thin making it convenient to use, fits the pocket just right.

On the negative side, it did turn off on its own twice & converting music to sensme compatible is slow. Also, loading the files take a while. & do I have to mention the below average 2 MP camera?

The reason the usability is 5% is because I didn't actually get to use the phone. I got this phone for Xmas & was really happy about getting it, however when I started using it I wasn't that pleased.

It says in the book it takes 2.5 hours to charge a full battery however mine wouldn't charge at all. It keeps freezing & turning itself on & off with a red light at the back of the phone.

I am receiving a replacement one hoping that this one won't be the same! But some say that there was a faulty batch of phones shipped out so I am hoping that it was just a one off.

Well so far it hasn't broken & everything about it is really good I love the shake control & how the screen changes when you hold it the other way. It's got everything & the music sound quality is great! Very clear! It has loads of fun interesting things, sense me is really good as well it takes about 10 mins to transfer 50 tracks on to the phone when turning them into sense me tracks but it's definitely worth it! You can just put the cursor to wherever your mood takes you!

Loads of my friends have this phone & they all say it's great well now I agree!

I am on my second phone. About to take it back.

The first one would not turn on, plugged charger in & light came on the back, after about 2 hours, it would then turn on, but then switched itself off again, then kept turning itself on constantly : (.

Second one was fine, apart from the fact, key eight & hash do not work when writing a text. Turning off & on, seems to work. However tried this, then all keys would not work, even the turn off button would not work!

Have left for a few days & can now turn on, but back to Key eight & hash not working : (.

This is a very good phone. It's slick & light. I have put in an 8GB memory card so can fit loads of music. The only thing is that it's slow in loading up the info on the screen, but perhaps its due to the amount of info. Another thing is the buttons, not the best. They are a bit too far apart which makes texting a bit difficult.

Overall I am very happy with this phone. I have had no problems with it (mentioned by many). It looks great & feels solid. Big screen is great & the Walkman is top class.

I made the stupid mistake of buying this phone off eBay. I charged it then switched it on it worked so I switched it off so I could sort out my phonebook from old phone. Now I can't get the w910i to go back on!

A red light comes on at the back & it vibrates & switches itself off. Anyone have any idea of what to do about this

I was getting this phone for Christmas, but it isn't even Christmas yet & it's already broken. I didn't even get a chance to use it & because we bought it online, the O2 shop won't replace it or anything! This has totally ruined my Christmas. I wouldn't recommend buying this phone, because it will most probably brake & then you will have to wait to receive a new one, which could take a matter of weeks.

Hmm what can I say about my phone. Well to start with I really like the design, the bit on the back is useful for sliding it up & it also looks very nice. However, if you are a texter & new to this phone it is quite hard to text quickly but once you get used to it its fine. I really like the layout of the phone because it is simple to use & has some good shortcuts. Also even though the phone is a Walkman & not a cyber shot it still would be nice to have a flash on it as my last Walkman phone did because I now can't take pictures in the dark. Finally, sometimes the phone just goes black & vibrates with the key pad lit up, but this is sorted by taking the battery out & turning it on again. Overall, I think this phone is OK, but there are probably better ones available.

We've had w550i (excellent) W850i (excellent) but this W910i (RUBBISH).

Terrible software, transferring music etc is horrendous & impossible. We're on the 3 phone & still the picture messages don't work, we've been told it's our number!

Phone does switch itself off but so does my w850i.

The layout is almost all identical to the others but they have fiddled with the media & music player & now it's not so good. We are now getting a different phone. It's been a nightmare.

Had my first for 2 weeks it kept dropping calls & switching off Vodafone changed it & never heard of this problem had my second for three weeks this kept me awake most nights it shut off & switched giving a small vibration like the one when you shake it in Walkman mode for changing tracks, always searching for the network, but I am having my third on Thursday 20 December 2007, this phone is rubbish & should not be sold, will update you on my third phone & Vodafone have never heard of this problem HA HA.

I have had Samsung's, Nokia's & Motorola's but after I got my w810i I have always got Sony Ericsson's.

Most the problems your all facing is because the first batch that Sony Ericsson sent out where all faulty, most were sent back however few remain.

I am glad to say mine has been working perfectly although the camera on my w810i was much better. I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone!

I read all these reviews on this site & if you are thinking about getting this phone just think for one second, if you had a phone that worked perfect, would you think about looking at reviews for it, probably not huh? Some people just use like to complain & not to say how good something is.

I am pleased to report that I got this phone on Saturday & I managed to transfer everything of importance onto it with no problems. It's not crashed or froze. If you want a phone with a better camera or whatever then do not get this phone, pretty simple really. I think the camera is perfect for use now & again if you want a flash & whatever else go buy a camera simple really.

The design & look of the phone is lush! Buttttt I warn you do not buy it! I cannot believe how faulty it is! I always get Samsungs but was taken in by this phone's good looks haha do not be fooled as it is awful. It freezes, gets hot & won't let me look in my inbox or anything! I can't text off it either. Back to using my old phone for the time being but am taking this one back as soon as the shop is open on Monday. After being a faithful Nokia fan but not being able to find a nice looking one for my upgrade I decided to try the Sony Ericsson w910i.

I read lots of bad reviews about there being a faulty batch around but mine has been fantastic. Really easy to use, not much different than a Nokia but maybe a few less buttons to press to get to the menus you want.

The camera isn't top notch but after all it is a Walkman phone & the camera is passable for what I need (nights out etc).

It is a really good looking handset, nice & slim. All in all I am really pleased with this phone & would recommend it to anyone!

I am loving this phone, I was apprehensive after reading reviews. It arrived yesterday & I appreciate it may still malfunction, but gave it a full charge, read instructions & started using it. I am on 3 & loving it. I had a K610i & I was able to simply transfer the memory card. Although the phone came with a Sony USB M2 card reader, this would facilitate drag & drop features etc.

I haven't loaded any of the software but finding it very easy to manage the files. The folders etc are in organiser which is slightly different than my old phone but everything is there.

The design is great, if I am being ultra critical it's a touch wide, but I really am splitting hairs.

It's easy to use & has everything a phone should have & more. I am loving it. I am sure those that had software issues etc will get resolved & the newer models will have them ironed out.

Positives first! Great looking phone, very light, looks brill in gold colour! If you want a phone to play music, then I guess this is cheaper than an iPhone!

Now the negatives. Software crashed & rebooted 3 times during initial setting up! Always an omen! Quick start guide states the phone can be zoomed to take photos, it can't! Vodafone confirmed this to me! So you have a 2MP camera with no zoom. As useful as a chocolate fireguard! Oh & no flash either. Another step backwards!

Yes the screen changes from portrait to landscape when you turn it. Spot prizes are to be awarded for the person who get shake control to work though!

This was to be my first Sony phone after recommendation, sent it back! The only thing I would recommend this for is as a Christmas present for the mother-in-law!

This phone will quickly be replaced!

At first I thought this phone was brilliant. Its not. Twice within the space of seven days my messages stopped working & to get it to work again I had to completely reset my phone. Losing all my messages & settings that I had created. It also freezes a lot. The whole screen turns blank & the phone vibrates & a red light appears on the back of the phone. While listening to the MP3 player I sometimes need to switch my phone off & back on again before it will let me change the volume. Now when I switch the phone on it is jammed & will not let me do anything with it. It also wouldn't charge earlier on today when I tried to. Do not buy this phone. Everybody I know who has it has experienced the same problems with it.

I would have given usability as 0% if it was in the drop down menu. I got this phone late yesterday evening & then read the reviews & then hoping that the software had been upgraded I was wrong at 4 o clock went to use the phone & guess what FROZEN unable to do anything with it can't even switch the damn thing off.

Sony should remove all these w910i from the stores. How can mobile phone manufactures get away with producing bad quality phones & the networks treating us the customers in the way they do when the handsets they sell us are not fit for the purpose especially on these new 18 month contracts.

I got this phone on contract from O2. It worked brilliantly for. One day! Then I had to change it for another replacement as all the games & applications disappeared, the media player wouldn't open & the sense me wouldn't ether. I got the replacement & that has been working fine till about 4 days ago when the operation failed message kept popping up when trying to open games, applications, inbox, outbox & sent messages. Also the camera isn't exactly terrific but the pictures I have taken now seem to have disappeared off of the phone also. So to be honest it's a pretty shabby phone there are plenty better out there get one of them instead!

This phone is nowhere near as good as the W810i, in my view Sony have made a mess of what is supposed to be a better phone. It's okay developing shake control & other new gimmicky features but it seems to be at the expense of other more important functions which have been downgraded. The music sounds terrible when it's played directly from the phones speaker, & the camera is practically useless, won't focus properly, can't cope with any slight movement & there's no flash! Really disappointed with it, can't believe the number of people who think it's a good phone. Roll on 18 Months time, when I can get rid!

I have had two phones now & I am about to get a third as they have continued to be faulty. If the third phone is also faulty I have been told I can exchange for another phone.

- 1st phone kept freezing.
- 2nd phone suddenly couldn't send or receive messages.

Would have changed now but 02 have said I have to wait & see if there is a third fault. Third time lucky!

I like the style of the phone & have had Sony Ericsson phones for years now & I am truly disappointed. I would not recommend this phone to anyone.

Before I got this phone I was on pay as you go Orange with the phone Samsung e900. This was my first mobile phone that was on contract & I must say this phone is fantastic. I love that it vibrates & rings at the same time because before I could on have the ringing option which made me miss a lot of calls due to hearing problems. The music player on this is amazing & the way the media album is set out is great. The battery life is great & I can play the music player for hours without the battery life going down too much. People have been complaining about the camera on this phone but as other people have said it's not a camera but it's a phone if you want a really good camera buy a camera phone or separate camera. Anything I say cannot give enough praise to this phone. All I can suggest is buy it. It's a fantastic.!

I got this phone to replace my W810i. After a year it began to look a bit tatty. I couldn't fault the phone though. I think the W910i is a real good looker. It feels great, sounds great & so easy to use. What spoils it for me is the camera. I know it's a camera phone but so is the W810i. The W810i has a much better camera. It comes with a flash, pictures aren't as blurry, you can zoom for still pictures. Also it has a built in torch (which I thought was a real handy function). But hey! This is about the W910i. I still think this phone is the nuts. Had it a week now. Putting music on it is a bit tricky at first. Much easier on the W810i but I don't care I still love the phone. I just pray it doesn't freeze on me like on the other reviews. I have this on an 18 month contract so I hope Sony Ericsson doesn't let me down.

I bought this phone about 3 weeks ago form Carphone Warehouse, I took it back because it kept freezing & turning itself off. They replaced it & the same happened again & again this time I went in & they said if it happens again I can choose a different phone, so it happened again & I went in & I got told I was only aloud the same phone (w910i), so I am stuck with this phone that doesn't even work properly for 18 months. I was lied to about being able to change for a different phone. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!

Well just got mine today. Liked the look of it, came in a nice box :) not that it makes any difference to the phone. Nice shape as well & very light! Had a browse through the features so my score isn't quite accurate BUT I know it does have some MINT features.

However I've been trying to find shake control, where is it? If anyone could let me know please? My phone isn't registered yet so I don't know if that's why it's not there but with the demo music, it's not where it's suppose to be? There's shuffle & loop? , Hmm, I hope this SLIGHT IMPORTANT FEATURE problem is resolved when I register? Looking forward to actually using it :).

I have had this phone for less than a month & although initially impressed by its light weight & pocketability it has just started to malfunction by freezing & red lighting, it also turns itself off & on randomly. I am taking it back to the Carphone Warehouse this weekend as they believe it to be a common software problem. I am not that impressed that a phone so new & at this price should malfunction so easily. It's fairly gimmicky & lacks a flash. Buy a cheap hard plastic cover for it, available on the net & it's fairly well protected, otherwise it can be damaged very easily. If it's repaired & works well I will be pleased. If the problem persists I will be trading it in for another mobile.

This phone is fantastic to look at & very easy to use, best phone I have had to date in terms of these features.

Downside is Orange recalled all of the first batch of these phones for a fault in the software, & I have had 4 of these now & all are experiencing the same issue.

For no apparent reason the phone will go into black screen & a red light on the back. Only way to get it working again is to remove the battery & restart. A right pain when it happens 5 to 10 times a day.

I had a real battle with Orange over this & they have finally relented & choosing a different handset. Great shame form a great company.

Got mine yesterday, so haven't had much of a chance to play with it or sort out the software yet (so my features score isn't really accurate).

I haven't had any problems with it so far, I did tell the chap in the phone store that I'd seen some poor user reviews, & he told me that the first batch they had in were pretty awful, but Sony seem to have fixed the problem & the second batch they've had have all been fine.

Of course he could have just been saying that to convince me to buy the phone! Yes ideally I would have liked a better camera with a flash, but if I was buying a phone for the camera I would have probably gone for a LG Viewty or something similar. So far very happy!

Some people moan about not being able to put music on the phone from media player on the computer, that's because you can't drag & drop music from media player on a phone so that's why there a little stuck in that situation, but, the phone is amazing! I am on my second w910i handset already!

The first one kept freezing, turnings itself off & then after about 20 seconds automatically turned back on searched for the network & worked perfectly for two hours or so before doing exactly the same again!

However second handset, went to send a text message tonight, SENDING FAILED now why is it saying that? Well then I went to check my inbox OPERATION FAILED, okay went to check the sent messages, OPERATION FAILED, well what about the outbox OPERATION FAILED!

What a rubbish phone! Looks like I am going to be taking this one back soon as well, for now the master reset has done the trick, but for how long?

I have had this phone on Virgin contract for almost a month, & what I wanted was top of the range at the time of purchase. Loads of stuff on it which is great, but what I wanted to do with it was actually use it as a mobile I.e. Text & phone people, as the primary function.

I call people & it normally takes 2 to 3 goes to work, texts are the same unable to send, retry, gets on my nerves, sometimes takes 5 attempts, or a reboot.

Sorry number is unavailable or engaged when I am not using it, & it has become normal to receive texts up to 24 hours later than sent to me, middle of night, next day!

I am on my second handset & now changed sim card three times. DOES anyone ELSE KNOW ABOUT THIS AS A FAULT ON THEIR 910i, BEFORE I GO BACK TO VIRGIN & CHANGE TO SOMETHING ELSE!

This is the best phone I have owned to date. The music function I use nearly every day & works so well. It does bring the battery life down to approximately 6 hours if you use it all the time all day but that is to be expected I suppose. This current phone is my 2nd one though I might add as the 1st one kept crashing & so I got a replacement. I might hazard a guess that I might be to blame for that as when I downloaded music & was finished I unplugged the phone from the computer, only you are supposed to log the phone off. Since getting the replacement I have always logged off & all seems good still. If you're thinking of getting one of these I highly recommend it.

WORST phone EVER! I had this phone for 2 days & I hate it. IT'S JUST IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT MUSIC ON. This phone will NOT put music on properly the software that comes with it is absolutely terrible & not usable what so ever! Every time I try to transfer songs from my computer to the phone by using windows media player it always says status STOPPED or there is an error. It will just not transfer any songs over! It is so annoying, is anyone else having this problem? Also the camera is TERRIBLE. Whenever you move the phone with the camera or video on, it's very lagging & choppy. It doesn't run smooth & it's just very choppy when moving the phone. It is OK if you take a picture when something is DEAD STILL. Other than that the picture WILL BE BLURED. Also it's got NO FLASH! The phone its self would be great if the camera was good & it was more reliable! I had a lot of problems with the phone freezing & restarting its self while playing music (well attempting to play music). Don't BUY THIS phone because YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TRANSFER MUSIC OVER 2 IT WITHOUT HAVING ENDLESS AMOUNT OF ERRORS!

I love this phone it is great but the only downside is that you have to press the Walkman button whilst shaking the phone to activate the shake control. What's the point of that the phone might as well not have shake control if you have to press something. If you're thinking about getting this phone read this because this is an accurate review of exactly where this phone is in the current market.

The Good
Nice Walkman, similar to an iPod in layout & capability. Good looking phone. Slider is faultless. Lightweight & thin. Great screen clarity & graphics.

The Bad
The phone is too wide, feels slightly uncomfortable to hold. The Walkman sounds a bit tinny when listening in loudspeaker. The phone has a slight delay when looking through menus. It does not have a light. The reception may not be that reliable. The layout of the buttons is a bit of a mess.

Overall Opinion
It's one of the more advanced phones on the market at the minute. Sony has given it a few gimmicks, new ideas & it definitely looks good. The quality is also excellent. Overall Sony just threw a few ideas into a hat & out came with this phone. It does not work as a package though & the bad points are annoying. There are a few better mobiles around than the W910i.

I've had Sony Ericsson's for a while now. I was blown away by the w800i when it came out & massively disappointed with the k800i which I upgraded to. Fortunately I still had the w800 so I ebayed the k800i & went back to my old faithful!

I've just upgraded to the K850i & it's a great phone but WAY too bulky so I sent it back.

I am NOW on my next Ericsson the w910i & I think it's great. Just like the w800i but slimmer with a bigger screen. You are buying a music phone & on that score it delivers.

The camera isn't great, but it's only 2MP & it does the job, good for taking pictures of daft stuff & your mates (sometimes the same thing). If you want a camera phone, go for the k850i but you won't get one looking as good as this baby!

I've loved it so far. Very easy to transfer music with the memory stick, though you can't use the sens me thing. After having the Nokia N70 this is much better. Pity about the camera. Also the number 8 & hash key are now only working if I tap the phone on the table. Hopefully it'll get over this, because I can't be bothered to exchange it.

Looks good & has some interesting features which will keep you amused for a short while. Whilst the screen is excellent the camera is very poor, the image is really dark & distorts horribly as you move the camera. Zoom is only available in VGA mode, it has no flash & the exposure adjustment makes no difference at all. Okay, I know it's a phone but it really does detract from the overall package. The external speaker sounds cheap & hissy by comparison with Samsung U600 & comparable Nokia offerings. I have only had the W910 for a week & some of the software doesn't work. Although it looks better than the W800 I previously used I am seriously tempted to go back to it as it out performs the 910 in many areas. Not the step forward I had expected it to be.

I wrote a review a few weeks back that you can see down the page. At the time although I had, had a problem with the first handset I said that I loved the phone & hoped that things would be okay with the second one.

However they were not, after not even 24 hours of the replacement being delivered it too, broke! Not the same as the first one, this time 2 keys completely stopped working!

Orange give them their due said I could have another of the same or something else, normally I would have had to have 3 faulty ones but since I had two that were faulty in 3 days then they would let me have something else. So I am now waiting for my W580i to arrive as it is out of stock at the moment. Also they have told me not to worry about getting the faulty one back to them, so I have ended up with 2 1GB memory cards from the faulty handsets & also the headsets & adaptors.

Surprisingly reading all about it, the W580i has the shake control like the W910i & the same 2 mega pixel camera. So other than not being as thin & a slightly smaller screen they are almost the same. Fingers crossed the W580i will be all I need, for me it's more about the Walkman side of things & a phone, rather than a camera.

Although the W910i is good looking & has some good features the usability of mine is very low as it is faulty. If you get a good one that stays working then you are lucky, as I was told by someone at Orange that they have had a huge amount of them back. Sony Ericsson might have to rethink this one then, maybe rushing new phones out to cash in on Christmas isn't such a good idea!

Overall it is a very good phone but it seems to be a common problem that the software either corrupts or the phone will turn itself off & vibrate a lot, or will drop signal very easily.

If you are looking for a phone with gimmicks & a good memory for music then fair enough this is for you. However the lacking camera (only a 2 megapixel) can make all the other features seem not as good.

Nice ideas just the phone has faults, wait a bit so that Sony Ericsson can sort this problem & no one has to experience it.

I absolutely love this handset I had it for one day though & then it just switched its self off. Knowing my luck had got a faulty one. But I sent it back & got a replacement & this one works great, I love the shake feature all though you do look an idiot walking around shaking it to change track. The camera is good quality. MP3 player is great & I love the sense me feature!

All in all I love the handset even though I got a faulty & had to wait a week to get another it was worth it! Top marks!

Hi, I am about to get this phone as part of a new contract with T Mobile but am slightly worried about my already purchased music tracks from Naster. I believe I can transfer all my ripped CD's from my PC to the W910i but will I be able to transfer my tracks from Napster to this? I'd be grateful if anyone could let me know if it is possible? Thanks.

Have had this phone a week & a half & wasn't sure of it at first, but now that I've played around with it a bit I really like it. It is so easy to transfer music etc. Can hold about 400 odd songs with the 1 gb card that I got with phone. In reply to the guy asking if you can end calls by closing the slider yes you can there is an option to set phone to do this. The keypad is quite dainty so if you have big fingers you may have a bit of a problem but I haven't so I am loving it. This phone has been great so far so fingers crossed it continues.

It has radio, video calling, shake control so all in all no complaints x.

Wouldn't even recommend this phone to someone I hate. I've had two in the past week, both have started randomly red lighting (as they call it in the mobile phone shop) & restarting. Can't use it for anything, might as well not have a phone at all.

Great phone, bought one this week, retail for pay as you go is £240 but available on a wide range of contract deals to suit every one.

The design is incredible it looks & feels great, as many people have already mentioned it is a Walkman phone NOT A CAMERA! The only downside I can really see is the usability, it can be a challenging task to do something as simple as send a text message, all the extra features can appear difficult to use with the placement of buttons (I.e. The Walkman button).

When it comes to the crunch I would recommend this phone to anyone looking to upgrade, & strongly recommend it to anyone looking to invest in a Sony Ericsson. Hope you find the review useful.

I got my phone 2 weeks ago within 2 days I started having problems it wouldn't let me phone or text anyone. This has happened 3 times & lasted about 2 to 3 hours each time. Then my phone wouldn't work when you slid it up the screen was blank but the lights on the keypad were on. Nothing would work & it wouldn't turn off so I had to take the battery out. This has happened about 5 times at least now. The Walkman & games have also stopped working it keeps saying operation failed.

I went into my local shop who told me they are having this problem with a lot of the W910i phones so they are giving me a new W910i when they get them back in stock. When the phone is working it is a really good phone but I have had that much trouble with it I wouldn't recommend it

I've had the phone two weeks now so have familiarised myself with the phone setup, features & functions. My overall impression is that this is a good phone which looks good but is let down slightly in some areas.

First of all & the main thing is that the quality of sound when receiving calls is not what I'd expect from Sony, as you have to turn the volume to the highest setting in order to hear the caller as they sound muffled & distant. I previously had the Samsung E900 & the sound quality of calls was crystal clear but the MP3 player quality was poor where as it's the opposite with this phone.

The phone build quality although generally excellent is let down with the slide function as the upper part moves slightly left or right & the camera although only 2MP & no flash seems to produce poorer quality pictures compared to Samsung E900 (2MP as well).

Lastly & this is only a small niggle, you cannot set the phone lock feature to a specific time of your choosing as it locks itself after a few seconds which can be annoying if you have to change tracks when listening, watching MP3 or 4 (this only happens though if you have not used the slide). This is not to say though that this phone is poor.

The screen is excellent producing some vibrant colours (as you would expect from a Bravia screen) & sound quality is very good but not excellent like the stand alone Sony Walkman (NWA A816) as the stand alone has more sound quality functions & produces a richer sound experience. The drag & drop software & separate card slot USB connector is a good addition as is the free 1MP card.

Overall, I would recommend getting a higher mp camera phone & buying a separate Sony MP3 player as music quality is lost by combining the two but if that's not feasible then this is a good quality alternative if you want the two bits of kit together, you'll defiantly turn heads when playing a music video & movie.

I bought this phone recently & I think it's amazing. It looks great, is easy to use & has amazing features. I think the Rotating screen is a very clever feature & comes handy especially when you are playing games, on the other hand the Shake control is not that useful but it's good to impress others. The buttons are well placed & easy to operate. I think the only down side to this phone is its camera. Even though the resolution is 2 mega pixels, its lack of flash makes it useless. That aside, I think the phone is a definite hit in all the other aspects. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a Walkman phone & is not really fussy about the camera. Keep up the good work Sony Ericsson!

I got my phone yesterday & I couldn't wait, I have wanted this phone since seeing it on the website months ago. I eagerly charged it last night & got started, the shake control is ace & the camera is better than I thought it would be.

I loaded music & some pictures from my old handset that I wanted, as I wasn't too impressed with the media menu but I am sure I will get used to the differences. However this morning after the phone being on by my bed all night I looked at it & the folders in the media menu was empty, I could see the files were still there as I could get at them through ringtones & wallpapers but not the media menu, which meant that I couldn't use the Walkman facility! The whole point of the phone.

Luckily Orange are sending another one out first thing tomorrow to replace it, I knew there were problems with the phone initially but I was assured that everything had been sorted before I ordered mine. I love the phone so hopefully the next one will be okay, otherwise I will be mighty upset.

In answer to a question that was posted a few days ago, it does have a way of selecting whether you can answer calls & end them by opening & closing the phone, I like that too it's good.

So fingers crossed the new one tomorrow will be fine as I love the phone & it looks awesome!

I expect this is going to be my wonderful 3.6 Mbps HSDPA data speed Sony Ericsson to beat my Motorola V3xx which I already have & satisfy for quite some time with true 3.6 MBPS HSDPA. If it is your expectation, DON'T BUY THIS PHONE.

Truly weakness compare to Motorola V3xx that I also own,

- No HSDPA indicator, only 3G. I am questioning whether this is really HSDPA phone or just another 3G Walkman phone. I can't see either it is 1.8 Mbps or 3.6 Mbps HSDPA in their specification. Surprisingly, the PC Suite SW also didn't tell that, only UMTS 3G. Unbelievable, event my Chinese HUAWEI HSDPA Modem can have sign whether it is in HSDPA, UMTS or GPRS in their PC Software? Totally rubbish!

- Equalizer in music player. Please check if you own it, because the profile of EQUALIZER always back to NORMAL setting. Every time you play the Walkman player, you must set the EQUALIZER profile every time to I.e. Mega Bass, Pop, etc. Totally rubbish, it always goes back to Normal profile.

I've had 2 of these phones so far. The first one worked perfectly for 2 weeks & I loved it but then the software corrupted & said operation failed whenever I pressed a button! So I got a new one, which doesn't even turn on. It just vibrates & the keypad lights up but that's it! So I am getting another one tomorrow. If it doesn't work I am looking for a new phone. The W910i is nice enough but not worth the hassle.

Overall, a very good phone. OK Camera wasn't the best but slightly better quality than my old W850i. Only problem I had was the software - I had it for one week & it kept locking up. Screen went blank & the red recording light stayed on. Got worse over a period of a couple of days, had handset replaced only for that to start doing the same thing 2 hours after starting to use it. In process of sending back to T-Mobile & swapping for a K850i.

I've been reading some of these reviews & the same thing keeps on popping up the camera, can I just say one thing it's called a Walkman phone therefore it's to be used as a Walkman & that of course is going to be the best feature of the phone. So I don't see why everyone's complaining about the camera, if you want a good camera go & but a phone like the cyber shot phone. Anyway, I am just waiting for mine coming (upgrade eventually LOL) but yeah I can't wait & I am going to moan about the camera because I got this phone for the fact that it's a Walkman phone.

Only two days ago I bought this phone for my son's birthday. Very disappointed it doesn't work! Keep cutting off & battery want charge, stay at 22% battery. We have never used Sony Ericsson before. Only my son likes music & liked the design. Have asked the sales man for advice & he believed this was the best mobile for music & other features. Very poor!

Got this phone on the 13th of October & although I like it I have been undecided of whether just to go back to my W850i, 2 reasons: first because the phone is nowhere near as sturdy as the 850i & I don't think it would withstand many crash landings on the floor like my 850 has LOL, & secondly because I am extremely disappointed with the sound quality. I have read through some of the reviews on here & have been very surprised not to come across some people having the same thoughts on this. The sound doesn't even come close to the 850i (except with the headphones on) so this was a huge disappointment for me, my hubby sent his back for this reason alone. Apart from that & it being a bit un clumsy friendly I really like it, the design is great & the usability is fantastic I just wish it had the same sound quality that I am used to.

About to buy this phone after 3 generations of Samsungs - someone else has finally worked out how to make a great slide mechanism! Well done Sony!

It looks great & packed with feature. Shame it doesn't have more than a 2MP camera though. Despite all this phone's good points - design/features, I am going to have to swap it for something else (only had it six days) because the keypad is too annoying! It's impossible to text at speed. You have to hit the keys dead centre or they don't respond -they're very fiddly as so close together & your fingers tend to slip off them easily. You have to text painfully slowly or you will be forever backtracking to correct mistakes. Not the phone for people who text a lot.

Hi I am getting this phone on contract on Orange, this contract will be really good but is the phone? I know it hold lodes & lodes of songs but I was wondering if anybody new exactly. Also I was disappointed to find out that the camera is only a 2 megapixel but I don't really use it so it doesn't bother me.

First off may I say that I find those that have complained about this phones camera quality quite amusing. It's NOT a camera phone it's a Walkman one! So what do you expect! Go & get a cyber-shot!

Right rant over, now onto the phone. The W910i is a lovely piece of engineering & design. I have it on my desktop as I type. It looks sleek & stylish & as I pick it up, the build quality is also apparent.

The sound quality isn't bad at all considering the small speakers but yes it can (when set on loud) sound a little tinny without the use of the headphones, but then again I am not going to use the MP3 without them anyway! The music & ring/MSN tones are plenty loud enough, so the guy that was complaining earlier, get your ears checked!

The menu options are typical of other Sony Ericsson phones & easy to navigate & I love how the phone does not have to slide open in order for the user to activate the menu or incoming/outgoing calls.

Smaller buttons seem to be where a lot of mobiles are going these days, but the w910i is an exception to the rule, leaning towards a flush keypad (obviously as it's a slider) However because of this, texting could be more difficult for larger hands but as mine are more slender, I have had no problems whatsoever.

Features on this phone are not in abundance, but there is enough to keep even the most technical savvy occupied for some time. The new shake feature is a lot of fun. It's pointless, but it works! Also the new media menu is much better than the traditional Sony Ericsson options.

The screen on this little phone is large & of high quality - the only thing I would niggle at is it's covered in my finger prints!

Overall a fab little phone that I would recommend to anyone!

I have had phones before this & this is by far the best ever the camera isn't brilliant but I don't care I still love it I never liked Sony Ericsson's until I got this lovely phone.

I have named her Isobell & I never go anywhere without her now I love the sense me & the shake it functions & it has music DJ (where you make up your own tunes) & photo DJ (where you customize your photos) & I just love it EVERYONE BUY THIS PHONE I don't know about other networks with this phone but I am on Vodafone, Vodafone RULES!

I had a W850i, so this was a free upgrade. For me Sony make the best phones on the market as far as build quality.

There isn't that much difference between the 2 phones. The w910 is lighter & thinner, it has a better & bigger screen. That's about it. Oh the software is a bit better as photos & music is all in the media option (in a PSP style).

Will be keeping this phone as it's so lightweight, you don't know you have it in your pocket (the w850 was a little heavy), if this is important to you. Maybe girls don't have is problem because they have handbags!

So I will still be sticking with Sony. (also got £47 from Vodafone as I sent my old phone back to them).

They look great but the camera is not very good & they feel flimsy, however we were still pleased with them until we tried to use them. I received this phone last week. Looks Great, so have bought a pouch to put it in as that big screen is destined for scratches. I got this phone mainly for the music features & the music on it sounds great & is more than what I expected, the shake thing seems a bit pointless & I find you have to shake it hard, but it's still a quirky novelty.

Camera is OK but I am not that worried as I don't use it. Still getting used to texting on it though as I find it a bit difficult. I was a bit disappointed it didn't have a slider tone but I suppose that's just a novelty item.

So far I've had no problems with this phone, I don't normally go for Sony Ericsson's so I am quite pleased with it overall. (No phone is perfect)

However I was a bit worried when my hubby went to upgrade to this phone yesterday & he was told he couldn't as they were being recalled due to faulty software. Touch wood I've had no problems with mine so far & hopefully I won't any time soon either.

Although this is an exceptionally stylish phone, I do have some criticism. After upgrading from the w850i, I have found the w910i to be less practical. Firstly, the keys are flat & flush with the phone. This certainly does look nice but you must be accurate & need to take care when writing a message. For this reason, I struggle to complete a message without making an error & it therefore takes longer.

I don't know if anyone else has a problem with the reception but it goes up & down like a yo-yo. Someone had warned me before that there was an issue with the Sony Ericsson on O2 (possibly only in my area) but had never encountered any problems myself. I now have trouble using my phone in places I never had problems before! I will try to send a message when I have full reception & it will not work.

This model is also fairly limited on features. With technology advances, you would expect to see a lot more from this phone. As someone has already pointed out, it could benefit from an improved camera. There aren't many differences from the w850i but is nice & slim in comparison, also light weight. The screen display is bright & clear which is a bonus.

I must say that I am disappointed because although I like this phone, it needs a reception to function (which I am having difficulties with) & it is proving too much effort to send a message quickly. For these reasons, I am considering an exchange.

Been waiting for this phone for a few weeks, finally got it last week & have already packed it up to send it back. I was very disappointed I have had my W810i for the last 2 years & apart from the screen the 810i is better. The phone looks great & the screen is huge but the features are not what I had expected. The phone feels to plastic & feels too fragile. I was worried that it wouldn't last long. This is the worst bit the sound from the phone was rubbish, not very loud & very tinny although with the headphones in was OK. I am now waiting to receive my Nokia 6500.

I have always had S.E Walkman phones W850, W880i (great phone) so there I was on Oct 15th with my money in my hand heart racing waiting for the shop to open so I could get my hands on the W910i.I paid my £300 & rushed home to start using it. Hmmmm was my first impression feels plasticky & flimsy I thought but it still looked lovely. Then came the setting up of the mobile & here my friends I grind to a halt, the software was corrupt as was the replacement & finally on the Third mobile in one week (that software was corrupt & kept shutting down I got my money back. Went for a gold W880i instead (yeah I know the camera is rubbish but I want music not a perfect shot of my friends drunk in a club!) so that was my experience. I hope that all the people who have yet to own this phone will still be giving it such rave reviews after they have purchased it, I having owned three can not!

Well, I've had my 910i now for 1 week & overall I can say that it is the best phone I've ever owned. Build quality very good indeed & the slider is smooth & sturdy. My only tiny niggle is that because almost all of the front is taken up by the screen, it's a little difficult to slide it closed without getting fingerprints over your screen or pressing one of the navigation keys. But, hardly a major niggle.

The sound quality as an MP3 player is as good as you'd expect from Sony Ericsson, superb. I owned a W800i & then the W850i before this phone & what you're getting with the W910i is a worthy successor to either. The new media browser borrowed from the PSP (& the high end Bravia TVs) is a joy to use.

Download speed when in range of a 3G network are amazingly fast. Press a link & the page is downloaded in less than 3 seconds (of course depending on the page you're downloading).

The bundled PC Suite software is of a high quality & allows easy integration of your PIM info & makes it a doddle to manage your media too.

I did worry too about the usability of the ultra low profile keypad buttons but they are very tactile & I have no problem texting with them.

So, I've marked it down a little because the 2Mpixel camera is no where as good as that on the W800I as it is fixed focus & the phone has now lost the while camera light too. Doesn't really bother me as I don't ever use the camera anyway.

I marked it down a touch too on design & usability just because I don't like getting my finger prints on the screen.

I would say that the 2 other phones that I've had a lot of experience lately, the Nokia E65 & the Samsung D900 are certainly put to shame by the W910i. The Nokia is just too slow & unresponsive & the nice leather like coating on the case is just peeling off, & the Samsung feels a bit cheap & the menus seem unintuitive & simple tasks long winded & just a final note about the shake thing. It's a bit of a gimmick & slightly awkward to use but its good fun to show off. More impressive is that there is a game bundled where you roll a marble around a surface just by tilting the phone. Great to show off its tilt sensors. These sensors are also put to good effect automatically changing the display of videos & pictures & the media browser screen from portrait to landscape as the phone senses which way you're holding the phone.

So, for my 3rd Sony Ericsson phone, it's pretty much all praise.

Got the phone last Tuesday from Vodafone as an upgrade, looks smart & has loads of features. Bit annoyed at the camera as it doesn't seem to auto-focus like my last one, no too bothered as I don't use it too much. Battery is OK, better than my W900i, lasts about 3-4 days. I've had no cracked keys or dodgy start ups as previously described.

This is a good mobile (as most Sony Ericsson's are.) Waiting delivery of mine from O2 - but went into the O2 store to have a play with it.

My only comment would be that the camera could have been a slightly higher mega-pix, perhaps 3.5 or something but then I rarely use the camera features on mobiles as I have a 10 mega-pix Sony camera. I prefer the black mobile. So looking forward to taking it in hand!

Just had this phone 1week, great phone I obviously got it for the music features which are excellent the shake to control thing is a bit pointless really but it got the kids going 'cool'. The rest of the phone is excellent music transfer is really quick 8-12 seconds for an album.

The screen is nice & coming from a Sony Ericsson W810i I haven't even had to read the instruction booklet. The slider is really smooth music quality with the headphones is really good, pretty impressed with it really, I had considered the new Motorola V8 but it didn't have enough memory.

I have had many phones over the past year from Nokia, Samsung, Motorola & Sony Ericsson etc. I have just taken delivery of this new phone & have to say it is fantastic! It's very light, slim (fits in pocket) excellent large screen & very easy to use. The one thing I was looking for was great battery life (talk time) as I use the phone a lot. This phones battery is the best I have ever had. I charged it Monday & with moderate use still going strong by Thursday. The features are excellent as is the Walkman. The only slight down side is the 2meg camera. However I do not use it so it is not a problem.

Sony has produced a phone which I believe is probably the best on the market.

Just Got This Phone Today, disappointed Though. Doesn't Work! When You Turn It On It Vibrates & They Keypad Lights Up & That's All. Getting Another One Tomorrow, It's A Nice Phone Though Big Screen & Has Some Really Good Features.

Why on earth does UK fan give this phone 100% for usability when they are worrying about cracking keys? In my experience Sony Ericsson phones are of outstanding quality & are extremely durable. Have faith.

This phone looks & sounds great & I am really wanting to get it for Xmas. I am a bit worried though as a lot of other Sony Ericsson phones have the problem of cracking keys & I would like to know if anyone has experienced that problem with this phone. Can someone who owns the phone please help so I can decide if this is the phone I want. At the moment I have the Samsung D600 & I would like a much more advanced phone than my current phone. Please help so I can stop worrying & decide which phone I want.

Received this phone this morning from Vodafone on contract, ordered it yesterday, was told that Vodafone only got hold of them yesterday. First impressions are that the phone looks great, nice & light & the screen is massive. Biggest problem is that my nice new phone doesn't work, it vibrates when you turn it on & the keypad lights up but that's it. So I am waiting for the delivery of a new one on Monday, so can comment further when that arrives, so far am not impressed with it not working, & if the new one on Monday doesn't work either then I will be looking at new models. Looks great though!

Hi guys I think this phone is going to be very good music wise with the shake control & all but I think it needs at least a 3.2 megapixel camera & I would love it to have WLAN but that's NOT going to happen so I am going to get this & then next ill get the w960i when it gets cheaper, it's going to be like 500 pounds!

This phone is loaded with very fantastic features. When you turn the phone, the display also turns isn't it great & about the music player & sound Sony have no comparison. Should anyone have a doubt about Sony Ericsson phones.
