Hi friends I have the W700i, I want to change the body of the same I went to 2 to 3 stores for the same one told me it will cost for 300, other told me 650, & at Sony Ericsson service centre told me 1800. All are assuring that the body is original, so I want to know how to identify whether the body is original or not & what should the best price to pay.

I got this phone for my birthday on 18th March, I was really exited however after a few hours it started switching off & then back on again (I am not sure why) however my mates told me he had the same problem but it goes after a while & it stops.

So I would strongly recommend this phone as it is very loud, stylish & good to use.

It has everything you ever needed to be on a phone (people say the buttons crack but mine don't (hopefully)).

I have had a W700i since year. This is a great phone. There are bundle of amazing features which are up to the mark. You can have an exceptional quality of music on ear phone. Camera is very good without auto focus. Very fast browsing.

The only drawback is that of joy stick. The plastic head fall off easily. The key pad is very nice but should be handled carefully as all sophisticated things are. I strongly recommend this phone. If you need autofocus, then go for w810i.

Hello, I am Sayantan Das, I am using this phone now, I think it is good for usability. This is an excellent phone, very good picture quality, excellent music player, but it lacks autofocus. This phone is probably the best phone I've had. The cameras great & I love taking pictures on it. I have dropped this phone on many occasions & it has a lot of scratches & a cracked screen. My best friends step brother enjoys the phone more than I do as it has sonic games on it & he likes taking pictures. The memory is great & I can manage to fit about 60 songs on it sometimes. If you want to buy this phone don't charge it up over night as it damages the battery & I've had to have mine changed once already. All in all it's a great phone & I am still not bored of it. 4 STARS.

The ULTIMATE PHONE! This is my third phone & I am just addicted to it. I had a Moto V3i & a Nokia N70 but I was very attached to this phone. Its design is extremely sleek & cool & it's very easy to use & I have been having it for 6 months & so far no problem!

VERY LESS FUNCTIONS THAN Nokia PHONES.

I buy it two weeks back, while connecting thru USB Port it allow to use & transfer the data only of phone memory, that means we can not transfer computer movies to memory stick, but we can transfer music to memory stick.

Unable to transfer messages via Bluetooth.

Ear buds fit comfortably & pump out real base & more natural sound. Though it lacks auto focus feature which comes with Cyber shot models, W700i still captures good pictures. I recommend this phone for music lovers & beginners.

Sony W700i, is the best phone of all. It's an extremely user friendly phone with great features. Sound quality & camera quality are undoubtedly the best, after all it's a Sony, and no one can ever beat it in the sound & camera clarity segment. The only thing which I did not like is that it does not have a 'distribution list' option. Every time I have to send a message to many people I have to keep on adding the recipients. An option to create a distribution list would have helped a lot. Another thing is the inbox capacity, its capacity is only 175 odd & that takes into account the sent msgs & saved msgs. I guess I have to find some software to increase the inbox capacity. Well! Excluding these two drawbacks I think my W700i is too good. I love MY Sony!

I bought new Sony Ericsson W700i 6 Months ago, after 5 months it started giving me trouble. Major Problem is that I am not able to receive network in my office with Airtel card, while my colleagues using Airtel card with Nokia & other mobile don't have any problem. In the evening when I reach at home the network come back again. Another problem I faced with charging the mobile, every time I have to plug and unplug charger pin 3 or 4 times to start it charging.

High-resolution 5 times in 10 months. After all these now I feel as if I am being cheated by Sony Ericsson Service Centre guys. They say that my cell has been replaced. They behaved coolly because I saw the print outs of the mail I got Sony Ericsson, Delhi & my complaint in Sony Ericsson website. They promised to get my cell replaced. I deposited my set there at Salora International (Authorised Sony Ericsson Service Centre) on 16th June (Saturday) & collected the set on 21st June (Thursday). They said they have replaced my set although I saw then the crack on my set which was not there before & which I suppose should not be there since they are claiming it to be a replaced NEW set. Then I checked all functionalities & all was working fine there.

On the same night I recognised that the camera button, Walkman key, joystick are not working, although battery is fully charged the cell is giving repeated warning of low battery. I put that battery in one of my friend's cell (w810i) & it is working fine there so I feel there is no problem with the battery. I again called that person at Salora International whom I was being asked to contact & explained my problem in detail. I also complained to the Sony Ericsson Customer service centre. I gave the person the details of the service centre & they asked me to go down to the service centre & promised that they will talk to the service centre people & will ensure my set is taken care of.

I was asked to come down to the Service centre the next day. So I went down to the same service centre again on 23rd June (Saturday) with my friend. There one of their technician engineered my set & did some thing in his workshop for half an hour & said the set is fine now. When I asked why a new set is showing such problem they said there was some thing wrong with this new set while that was integrated. Then there itself we again tested & found every thing working fine. Then we returned to my home. AGAIN on the same day evening again I found the same problems like the camera button, Walkman key, joystick are not working, although battery is fully charged the cell is giving repeated warning of low battery.

On Saturday night I complained at Sony Ericsson Customer service centre again. When I explained my problem to them they said they had noted down my complaint & I should expect a call from them in 1 day or 2. Since I did not get any response from those people today (26th June) morning again I complained at Sony Ericsson Customer service, another complaint has been logged for this issue. So, can any one please tell me if I have any other way then to log a Consumer Case in court to get my problems solved? I feel as if I am being tortured by these people.

W700i is firstly a phone which is very affordable. Then the sound quality is breath taking while using ear phones. Amazing sound clarity & megabase. Looks very stylish. Camera is too good. Has better pic clarity than a k550i cybershot. IF you WANT your RINGTONES TO BE LOUD DO NOT CHOOSE MP3 FILES. USE ONLY WAV FILES. It's truly a phone to cherish as a user & the envy of your friends!

95% good phone. 5% is for the lack of autofocus in the camera which is really a disadvantage. If this feature was present, then this phone is really one solution for mobile phone, music & photography. Prefer the W810i.

It's worth buying if the camera is not a priority. But the camera is really better than any of Nokia's, but not a good one considering the fact that it is from Sony Ericsson (the shutter speed is too slow. so if the object moves after pressing the capture button, the image is blurred). The ear phones are the best. The sound output is really good & of stunning clarity. It comes only with a 256 memory card, but it's expandable up to 4GB.

Brought w700i 2 days back 9250 with 1 GB in Chennai. But when I play MP3 & switch over to next song phone hangs & it give it hanging sound as same in computer (MP3 is in memory stick).Tried with different MP3's same problem since I purchased so that I can hear MP3 now I am lost can any one help me is it problem with phone or memory card. I just bought this phone a week ago. But what a LOW SOUND from the speaker! I had Sony Ericsson K510 which is not Walkman phone & the price is much cheaper (no slot, no FM, 1.3 MPix) but K510 sound is MUCH-MUCH louder & better than W700! So if you now have K510, better don't buy this phone due to the sound capability. Else is good.

The Phone is excellent overall. The only minus point is that the speaker volume is very low. Also it does not support real audio/media files. Joystick also seems to be delicate as compared to Nokia phones. Still, the Walkman option & superior audio quality makes it the best music phone available at its price range.

The Sony Ericsson W700i performs well in almost all sectors. It is a phone that is not too expensive, yet bundles so many features into one, lightweight, Walkman mobile phone. The speaker volume is low with some songs, so if you want high-resolution GPRS, WAP, MMS, & EDGE capabilities. Overall, this phone is a great buy. It comes with a 256-MB card as standard though that is upgradeable to about 4 GB. I love the practicality of using it in everyday life, & it has all the bells & whistles that one could need. It's a lovely phone & for once I am proud to say that I own a Sony Ericsson (I hated my old K310i!).

With my Sony Ericsson w700i is that its video quality is looking very very poor when ever I load in it the 3GP & mp4 video & also when I shoot the video too on the fine mode I ALSO WENT FOR C.CARE OF Sony Ericsson BUT THEY SAID TO ME THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM IN MY ITS VIDEO QUALITY IS ALLREADY POOR THEY TOLD ME LIKE THAT. BUT IT IS VERY CLEARLY SEEMED BY ANY ONE WHO SEE the VIDEO OF MY PHONE IS LOOKING VERY POOR. This is an awesome phone. I got this phone some 15 days ago & in these days I am addicted to it. It's too good. There is one prb I have noticed now. It takes videos for only 9 secs. When I checked in website it shows I can take video for long time too.

This is a great deal in terms of quality & presentation. It has amazing sound quality, picture quality at an affordable price. I guess & moreover goodwill & service of Sony Ericsson also comes with the package.

W700i is not supporting 1GB of external memory, I.e. the data's are not transferable/receivable via blue tooth with 1GB memory card, it shows error message, & while the same is not their if it is used with 256MB card. Can anyone help me to solve this problem, whereas the service centre guys can only give a blank look?

Brilliant phone just got it yes' day compared to the Motorola v3i which is rubbish by the way. The only down fall about this is after bin fully charged all night my battery running out after a conversation but otherwise everything all good.

Hi everyone, well as everyone knows that mobile phone making is not an easy job it needs a lot of work & thinking. Well think for some time that you make a thing & somebody passes comments that its bad or says not good, well I know that everyone gets annoyed & gets angry & unhappy that why the person said like that so like that we should not pass any comments on the makers of the mobile phones. Well I don't know much about sony ericsson W700i but I have seen it many times I think its really great phone like every other all the features are great.& that's why I m buying one so plz don't pass any comments on anyone's work it feels bad OK.

SMS space is very low. Only 200 SMS including sent & inbox. Phone book space is also low. Only 500 contacts. I am a complete Nokia user & Nokia haves unlimited memory for SMS & Phone book. I have 26 Mb free spaces but can not use for SMS.

Does anyone have solution for this.?

This phone is cool, with 2 mp camera & amazing sound quality & all the features that any normal person needs, this phone is like dynamite with the power to compete with the best present in the market. The sound quality is one of the best I heard, even the best of MP3 players don't produce such effects. The phone comes with 256MB chip, that's too much to store my fav soundtracks. The battery backup lasts for about 3 days, & may last 5 days if you don't use its camera & Walkman. The speaker volume is low only when you listen the MP3's while radio sound & ringtone volumes are largely audible. Bet, you won't get a better but at its price. Enjoy d music

I bought this phone a week ago, the problem with the W700i is the battery, it goes is a day with just a minimum of use, low speaker sound & no auto focus, but the rest is excellent. I liked the earphone music & camera quality which is good comparing to its price.

I got this phone after much research on the Internet. Although I saw that everyone preferred the k750i, I didn't want it as it was a common & old model. I bought the w700i because of its features, relatively good design & also its bargain price. When compared to other brands like Nokia it is not possible to get such a phone with 2 mega pixel camera etc at this same price level. When it comes to the phone itself...design wise it looks nice but its Orange light is the only downside. Other than the joystick which I'm hoping is not easily breakable... I heard the battery is not that good but surprisingly my batter last at least 3 to 4 days with me listening to music (although only for about an hour a day!). It's pretty easy to get used to phone. My last phone was a Nokia 6610, but I adapted to this phone pretty quickly. All its facilities & storage space is good but there is one downside, the speaker is not that loud! Other than that this phone is value for money & a great buy. Especially since this phone is not as common. Final advice: if you want a phone with as much features at possible at an affordable price, this is it!

A very good phone indeed. I bought it just a week ago. It turned to be the best phone among all my friends. There is only one flaw. Battery is not up to the mark. If you listen to songs or access the internet, the battery is consuming more power. It's really very heartening to recharge daily. Overall it's a good piece to have.

Hi, the phone is good with a lot of features except that the built in Media player doesn't have any pause button, It's really hard to see that the clip can only be stopped & played from the beginning. Else it's too good.

If you can not afford W800i then this is the perfect solution as it has almost all features of W800i except memory. Great fight against Nokia 6233 (latest mobile phone from Nokia). Let us see what happens because Nokia is a sleeping tiger. The series of walkman phones from SE W300i, W700i, W800i, W810i, W900i & W910i is great. Pick up anyone. I'm sure you will really enjoy (perfect series). I'm satisfied...Yaa this is true. And presently there is no competitor for this series.

I got my W700i for 2 days ago, & I'm very impressed! It has great quick-buttons, like walkman, camera, play/pause & volume! That's great! And the design is the nicest cell phone ever! But you must have to see it in reality first. The only thing that was a little minus was NO autofocus! That's why it's get 95% in Features. And I have heard that the W850i have none autofocus :( And you can't be disappointed! It's a really great phone!

Hi, I own this phone & it is a great phone:
- Good quality screen, pictures are very clear.
- Ability to add new themes.
- Bluetooth, IR, USB, Phone Sync Software.
- Extremely good walkman & earphones.
- Lot of fields for each contacts.
- Ability to create different groups.

- NO autofocus for the camera.
- Only 15 members can be added in each group.
- No group wise customization possible like, adding a picture, assigning a ringtone etc.
- If you have say 40+ messages in inbox & sent folder, all the messaging functions become a little slow.

Hey u all. Just got my w700i about a week ago & my oh my, was I impressed. The phone is just awesome. This was not only my first walkman phone but also my first Sony Ericsson & I really like it. What blew me out was the amazing sound quality when I put on the headphones, it's like a whole different world. But I still couldn't give it a 100 in features because it doesn't have an autofocus camera but the rest is just superb. Anyone planning to buy a phone, even if u don buy this model but do buy a walkman phone.

Its great phone. If u would look for similar features in NOKIA, you have to pay 3-4 thousand extra. Only con is that it doesn't have Auto focus camera.

It's great. I can carry all my favorite songs in my mobile..!

But. I connected my mobile to a system to download some songs...along with songs a virus entered into my mobile. Now the photos are not getting saved. The virus files are desktop.ini, temp.htt & temp.db, if some one knows the solution, help me with it.

Hi All, the Sony Ericsson W700i looks wonderful. I am giving 90% for all the categories to be fair. I am so happy with the sound & walkman player on the Sony Ericsson W700i that I must have walkman feature again because it produces the best sound quality possible on a mobile phone.

This phone is superb!!! I have had several phones over the years & this is by far one of the best. The menus are simple & easy to use great for anyone. The last phone I had was Samsung E720 & was never very happy with it so this is a great follow up. Don't think I will be changing for a long time!! 10/10 :o)

Hi there, just wanted to make my feeling heard about the Sony Ericsson W700i although it is not available yet to buy. Actually I am not quite sure when it's release date to the market is but it looks wonderful. My percentages will not be perfect as I haven't actually seen or used this phone yet, but I will give 90% for all the categories to be fair. I have the Sony Ericsson W800i & it is the best phone ever but I want to get a new phone in the next couple of months. I am so happy with the sound & walkman player on the Sony Ericsson W800i that I must have walkman feature again because it produces the best sound quality possible on a mobile phone. Keep these phones coming Sony Ericsson & you wont go wrong, they are the best range available.

Nice looking phone & the features on the W700i look super too but I will not rush & buy it as I like to read some of the pros & cons first. I am a potential buyer but never the first to buy... just in case. I have heard great reports from friends about the Sony Ericsson W800i & Sony Ericsson W810i so if those reports are anything to go by this should be another success story for Sony Ericsson. Nice & simple looking phone & features would suit my & most users needs.
