This phone IS good I GOT IT like 2 YEARS AGO & IT's STILL WORKS. I don't FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH the phone. The SOUND IS REALLY LOUD IT HAS good SPACE. I HAVE ABOUT 90 SONGS & 500 PICTURES. I THINK ITS A good phone & WOULD recommend IT to anyone. The PICTURES ARE REAL CLEAR & YOU GET A USB CABLE & ALL TO CONNECT IT to the COMPUTER. I THINK ITS WELL WORTH 150 & MINE GOT SOAKED IN EVERYTHING & IT STILL WORKS.

An amazing phone & extremely reliable. I've dropped it onto stone & into water (accidentally) phone still worked perfectly. Only problem is the headphones you get with it, they don't stay in so you will have to buy separate headphones but otherwise a brilliant phone, buy it.

I think for the price I paid for it a year ago, £100 was not bad considering it is still working fine. It did get soaked a few weeks ago & did shut down, I was gutted but I stuck it on the heater & took what parts I could of it. Dried it & hey presto it came back to life. My job takes me out in the elements for long periods so I only buy cheap phones, but this shocked me. It hasn't got that silly joystick thingy that breaks on the other Sony Ericsson phones. One of my brothers works on a trawler & he has the same phone & it is still working fine. I cannot comment on all its functions but as I just use it for text & phone but if you are wanting cheap reliability then buy this.

I found this phone very good. Not the best quality up-to-date camera but if not needed, will suffice. Everything is easy to navigate to & set to your own preferences. The supplied PC software easily lets you move, transfer etc. Files from PC to phone & vice versa. I purchased mine for a reasonable £64 at Tesco & am very pleased. There is so much built in for what I believe is a lowish price. One small quibble is it looks like there's 3 small speakers on the back but only 1 is a speaker. The sound could be a touch louder, & also the volume level does seem to go back to half when first turned on.

Good phone overall apart from when the earphones loses its connectivity, to solve this problem you have to go round embarrassingly with elastic bands round your earphones to keep them in place otherwise you will not be listening to music.

This is my first Sony Ericsson, perhaps my last. Wonderful design but poor performance. No signal strength & if the phone is in my pocket it can't receive calls. Using the SMS function is painful, really painful & slow. Badly designed. I am sorry I didn't go for a Nokia again. Its juts Nokia's designs are very corporate at the moment. I suppose this teaches me for going for the pretty face.

This Phone Is Amazing, love It. Last Night I Was Out With My Mates & It Fell Out Of My Pocket : (. I Couldn't Find It Until I Saw A Big 4Wheel Drive Run Over the Top Of It! Then That Was It. It Was Wrecked!

My Dad Offered Me the New iPhone Though & I Said I Wanted the Same One :). I Just Love it. I Would Consider Everyone Reading This To Buy One.

It's Also Great For Music Too. 10 out of 10, BigTime.

Got this phone this year on contract with Vodafone, it started going funny when I made a call the other person couldn't hear me, I was breaking up, my voice was an echo, so I sent it to the shop to be repaired, cost me £20 to loan a phone! Came back OK, the next day it started doing it again! Phoned up Vodafone they said they would replace it got the new one today at 2:30 & by 9:00 it was doing the same again! I am really sick of this phone, if I found this site before I got it I wouldn't have bothered getting it, please do not get this phone it is terrible!

Good features, & would be a great phone if it worked! However, in the 14 months I have had it, it has needed repairing 5 times! This is unacceptable reliability. Also, headphones broke quickly, the phone doesn't appear when plugged into the PC & the bodywork isn't at all durable. I wouldn't recommend this phone.

I have had this phone for approx 13 months. Up until recently it was all fine. It's now starting to switch itself off occasionally. Sometimes it freezes, but generally good reception & good service. The only thing I find a bit annoying comparing to the Nokia which is what I always had is inserting a contact name & number if you wish to text it to somebody. I know you can do it on this phone but it's not so easy. I tried & it did not happen. With Nokia it's very very easy. Apart from that its good compared to some of my friends having bigger problems with their other mobile phones.

Guys you might as well buy an MP3 player because that's all its basically good for. I have mine now for 2 months & the phone just switches off. When I try to switch it back on again it's a even bigger hassle. Like it freezes or something. I have to put the phone on charge to help it on then I have to make sure the battery doesn't go dead otherwise the phone is totally broken. It's a rubbish phone. To get value for your money you can never go wrong with Nokia. I had to learn the hard way so let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.

I bought this phone for my Daughter, she liked it at first until the problems started. Whenever the phone is being used for something e.g. Texting or making a call it turns itself off. I noticed that other reviews said this so it must not just be me. I took it back to the shop but all they did was send it away & put a new battery in, but it is still doing the same thing now. But the music side of the phone is good thanks to her memory card.

Nice work Sony Ericsson. I like it a lot I had dropped it when cycling & it bounces well, resists wet condition & is robust enough to take cycling in the wind & the rain. All the features are well thought out & easy to use. The camera does what is says on the tin.

All things considered it is nearly as good as the K750. But it is a Vodafone phone & cost a lot more that similar phones.

I've had this phone for about 12 months. First thing, I have ever seen any evidence of a RadioDJ, don't know what they're on about there. The memory is way too small, but thankfully, M2 cards have dropped radically in price this past month - from $120AUD for 1G when I first got it (2G just wasn't available) to $49.95 for 2G.

I haven't had any problems with stuck keys, but it's crashed a few times, lost data a couple, & turned itself mysteriously off a couple of times. When the stereo buds are plugged in, it puts the phone out of balance in your pocket, & has to be upside down, which is confusing. I've never been really happy with the camera, but that could be me.

All in all, it's not a bad camera, but I think I'd rather a Nokia, they're more user friendly, more logical. The cover/casing seems to withstand scratches very well, there's barely a mark on mine. The battery doesn't seem to last long. Shame about the silly Vodafone sticker, & logo on the back - I ripped the sticker off, why do they do that, it's not a Vodafone phone, it's a Sony Ericsson!

I have had this phone since February 06 & so far there has been ups & downs, it kept turning itself off when I was in the middle of doing something e.g. Texting. I took it into a Vodafone store & they sent it off to be repaired. Once I got it back it was OK, it has done it once or twice since then.

You don't get a light on the camera which obviously means you can't use it in the dark. There is only one game really to play & that is the Tennis on, the others you have to download to get & you can't even delete them.

It generally is a good phone. Light, easy to carry around & it isn't too big. A good sound system & the speakers that you get with it aren't bad either. There is quite a lot that you can do with the phone, if you how or what your doing.

Took it to Vodafone store they sent it off for repair which was done under warranty I must say, it come back after 1 week & had its software upgraded. Put my sim card in etc & within a few minute it was doing the same thing again. RUBBISH.

I've had this phone for about 4 months & can say it has served me well. It's extremely light, but let down by its chunkiness, nevertheless the sound quality is awesome. I rarely experience problems with the phone freezing, although when I start reading my messages from the bottom it freezes all the time. I was disappointed that all the games were demos & you have to pay to get them unlocked.

I don't like the style of the back cover but that's just me being fussy, overall it's a good phone & I would award it 8 out of 10.

Bad points - Very thick & design has no character! Included themes like Vodafone Live look rubbish, almost unusable until I got OSX theme. Games all trial for 30 days, just Vodafone maybe & very limited settings. No radio.

Good points - Music quality is excellent, nice external speakers. Battery lasts fair amount of time.

Basically the phone's nothing special. It looks really good, but 6 months into using it, it has become a nightmare. Every time it gets the smallest knock - even dropping into my pocket - it switches itself off. The hash key stopped working & has now started to dial on its own. I've had to give up on this phone & go back to my W800i, which also doesn't work too well, but it's a good 2 years older & has aged so much better than this hunk of junk.

I had this phone for about 6 months, before this one I had a Sony Ericsson f500i the joystick was very bad & the screen was broken in about a half a year. But I wanted to give Sony Ericsson on more chance. With the v630i nice design, good camera. No problems at all until the last month people couldn't hear me & very soft sound with making movies. I send it to the factory. They told me water damage, can't repair. 2 choices send it back for 30 euros' still broken or destroy it nature friendly. I never had it in contact with water. Maybe only used it with some light rain but I think a phone must be able to handle that. Now using my old sagem, maybe no good camera & mp3player. But the sound is perfect & it never breaks down.

Hi, I am from America & I got this phone unlocked for an American mobile phone company as I got my V630i from my son in England. It looks exactly the same as the K618i that we have in America except that mine has a pick-up call & hang up buttons as what the person said two reviews down. It is a great phone overall but it doesn't have auto focus or a flash. I might think of getting the I-Mobile 902 which has an 8.0 mega pixel camera (amazingly) so I won't have to carry my 'bulky' Olympus 7.07 mega pixel camera. I like the V630i for its loudness (louder than any Walkman branded phone) & that it is a great music player. [Word of Warning]: anyone who has a Walkman branded phone might of most probably been ripped off. The V630i is better than the W810i by far in telecommunications & it's cheaper too! Walkman phones are more expensive because they have a 'W' symbol on it & it says 'Walkman'. How this extra paintwork & plastic with a slight modification to the music player skin which the call a 'Walkman' can make it about $30.00 to $60.00 more expensive than a normal Sony Ericsson is a big question to me. I.e. The Z530i & the W300i are EXCACTLY the same except a play/pause button between the volume button, an extra bit of transparent Orange plastic in the shape of a 'W' & a 'Walkman button which simply goes to the 'Now Playing' screen. Perfect example. But Walkman phones are better music players anyway. Great phone, the V630i.

The V630i is a very easy mobile to use especially if you are already familiar with Sony Ericsson mobiles. The first thing I noticed when I picked it up & assembled it all was that it felt a little light but I soon got use to it. After owning the mobile for about 3 months it started randomly tuning its self off but this stopped after a week or so. The camera on it v. Good but a bit disappointed because there is no autofocus but oh well. The V630i is a good mobile & fast on the web so it gives it a 7.5/10.

Please completely ignore the below review. This phone cost me £70, you could get this phone easily with max price of £100. Although the K750i has gone quite cheap it is dated & doesn't posses the latest feature, I compare cameras & the K750i's has a flash & the quality is slightly better but the cameras are bad on mobiles & are just an excuse so that we send picture messages. This mobile is great for value. I got free speakers & a 256MB & it an excellent mobile. The usability is very easy, it even has standard phone answering button rather than having to use the main top two buttons on the keypad which I personally hate, great mobile great value nuff' said.

It's a great phone & it's with Vodafone which makes it a much better. The design is very good. I would give it 100% but the two top speaker outlets don't do anything. They should be covered up really because they don't do anything. It has all the features that I wanted except a camera lens cover, flash (I mean xenon gas flash, not silly LED light bulbs), & auto-focus. I can't get extreme close ups but it has an amazing range of colours in it. The pictures come out superbly on a computer & the actual camera has a 1.92 mega pixel (1600 x 1200) resolution. Not really 2.0 but it's just rounded off. The usability is exceptional & even has the necessary 'pick up call' & 'hang up call' buttons. No other Sony Ericsson that I know of (except the W830i) & that's been a great downfall with Sony Ericsson's. I ask people 'why do you press the return key repeatedly? You press the hang up button to get to standby mode quicker. Oh wait, you don't have one, Ha! Overall, I would recommend it more than the W810i though I would love one to take pictures.

I've had this phone since last August 2006 & it's been a wonderful piece of kit it's small, light & has all the features I need. Since having the phone I sent it into my local Vodafone shop for repair & after a week went to pick it up. The Vodafone staff member didn't tell me if it had been upgraded as I noticed my message options had changed. The original problem was it kept switching it's self off if I tapped it not even a hard tap just a small nudge just below the volume controls on the side. It was that which was supposed to be repaired but all they did was upgrade the software & reset it.

This phone is OK but in 6 months have had the same reoccurring fault, which has resulted in the phone being sent back 3 times & has now been replaced with a second one which also has the same fault! The problem is when I try to ring a number from the phone using my professionally fitted Sony Ericsson Bluetooth car kit, the phone freezes, which when driving in the UK is a problem as it is illegal to use phone when driving. So I am not impressed with either Vodafone or Sony as they seem not to care about their customers. The actual phone, when it is not away being repaired, is OK' ish, it's extremely slow to respond compared to Nokia's, there are not many applications, games or ringtones, there is no flash for taking photo's even though it has a 2 megapixel camera the photo's are still rubbish! I wish I had chosen the Nokia 6680 (which my brother has) as it is far better & easier to use & the camera takes much better pictures!

All in all I would not purchase another Sony Ericsson, but stick with Nokia, so buy this phone at your peril & expense!

When I first received this phone, I wasn't too keen on the 'Vodafone' branding stamped all over it. I also had to get used to the chunky size (after being a big fan of the tiny Samsung D500 & D600) & the lack of ringtones, text alerts, there are only 5! It's shocking!

Apart from that, it is relatively a great phone, particularly its music features. I was able to download 'full tracks' from the Internet, oppose to part of a track with other brands of phones. The sound quality really surprised me. Even in the highest volume. No distortion.

Overall, out of 10, I give this phone a BIG 8!

My friend recently bought the Sony Ericsson V630i. I had a good look at his phone & I thought it was brilliant. The memory capacity on the V630i is brilliant & transferring images, videos, songs etc onto the phone seems easy enough.

I have just ordered phone because I dropped my Nokia N95 down the drain (how stupid of me). I only had £70.00 left & so I have bought this. It isn't as good as Nokia N95 but it will do.

BEST BITS are the 2MP camera, radio, design, MP3 player, & the speakers.

SPEAKERS ARE SO LOUD IT WILL BLOW YOUR EARDRUM (wouldn't buy if you have hearing problems).

It's also got a massive 15GB memory card, sweet.

It has a good game on it. The funny thing is speed, sometimes fast, sometimes slow.

Had this phone for 5 weeks before it started to get intermittent 'no access to network' messages despite having full signal strength? Some days it does this up to 5 times a day & then it can go several days before the problem comes back. The only cure is to switch it off & on again. I bought mine thru Tesco, who needless to say have not been very helpful, they did say they would send me a prepaid jiffy bag so I could send it back for repair & I am still waiting for it ;- (

Vodafone on the other hand have been very helpful & they say the problem is the phone & not the sim card.

So come on Sony Ericsson is this a design fault as I have managed to track down 2 other people who have the same problem.

Anyone know if auto focus can be implemented in some way? Is the Auto focus function set on the lens, or it can be managed in some hardware/software way without changing the lens or something?

As a review. I really love this phone. The looks, the W button, the menu. But who told you that the buttons lack performance? They are the largest, most efficient designed till now. It's really a 'point-of-view' thing, but please get real - which is better - having a big space to push on or 4 buttons put together in something like a circle. Not comfortable for gaming, or for moving though. W810i isn't that great. Auto focus & Macro mode. Is that all you can afford? Blah. If you want to be a photographer contact my brother's best friend, he can give you like 10MP camera. Sony Ericsson will never make the best phone (e.g. 3.2MP camera like K800i, great looks as W810i, tons of memory in package W850i, best sound V630i (IMO) etc. Auto focus is luxury. Though I am curious how it's implemented.
