Got this with a PS3 so it wouldn't be my first choice but if you want a phone for calls & texting then this is a great phone with the best battery I have ever had, the camera is only 1.3 megapixel & memory is very low with no access for a memory card so you get what it says on the tin.

I agree with a lot of the positives of others reviews here.

However, I agree that letter selection is very slow when spelling a new word not in predictive text. Another VERY annoying thing is that it deletes the last 3 letters of previous word in your message when doing this. Not suitable for anyone who uses words not usually in predictive text 'dictionary' e.g. Names, words in other languages (e.g. Irish).

I don't like the texting keypad either, fiddly compared to my last Sony Ericsson phone which had a good solid feel to the keys when pressed.

In summary, not great for texting.

This phone looks very nice. It is very small which suits me because it fits nicely into my pocket when I am at work. The reception is very good & I have had no problems with making & receiving calls. The hands free speaker is very poor though (too quiet) the camera is also not great but good enough for a basic camera phone.

Problems: the phone has switched itself off twice in the year that I've had it. But no big deal really. Rarely, the phone can dial a number while it's in your pocket even if you lock it.

Overall this is a good phone for the price. It's basic but it's cheap & it looks great!

I have had this phone for nearly a year now & I am fed up with it. It keeps freezing, battery life isn't very good. I think if you wanted a cheap & reliable phone this is for you or even if it was your first ever phone then this would be the phone for you.

Investigate what a phone offers before you buy it. This is just above an entry model & offers what you pay for.

An attractive little number that is conveniently stored in your pocket.

I have had one for over 6 months & find it a delight to use.

If you are a tekko head & expect an iPhone performance for a fraction of the price, you are kidding yourself.

I would recommend it to anyone who wanted a reliable send & receive phone.

If you want portrait quality pictures, buy a camera, this & like many other higher spec phones are phones. GET the message.

I have had the Sony Ericsson for 2 months now & here are my thoughts of it. It is quite a simple phone so it is perfect for a someone who wants a cheap, easy, basic mobile phone. I think it is good for the price but it is quite fragile I know this because 4 days after buying it I dropped it on carpet & the screen cracked I will admit it was my fault but just be careful it is a very weak screen. But all in all it is a good for the money but basic & it has very little memory I can only fit on 1 song!

My rating in 3 out of 5.

Very sleek phone. Great looker but software is pretty bad. Freezes often, key pad is not particularly friendly for typing. It has decent features but what's the use of all that if it hangs so often.

Small is the word, fits in the cash pocket INSIDE the side pocket of my jeans! Fine for phone calls, has smart search (just spell the contact you want, or start entering a phone number on the stand by screen & it drills down into your phone book). Will accept calendar files & text notes over Bluetooth. Download opera mini from Mini Opera site for a FULL Internet browser (if you have data) although bear in mind this is quite slow to load, a good 90 seconds to load my yahoo mail. Make sure you select http protocol & NOT socket protocol in tools, settings in the opera mini menu if you use this program. The built in WAP browser is good for small WAP sites, try bbc weather mobile or m Google or wap national rail, for some good ones to start with!

It also runs a lot of the programs from getjar if you want to find something to play with.

Memory is terribly small, so either compress MP3s massively (you can get 35 minutes of music on if you use maximum compression, & the speaker is fairly poor, so this doesn't really matter, particularly good for podcasts).

Overall, lots of fun, it's a brilliant second phone that I don't need to worry about, & can do everything that I need to on, if necessary!

This is an attractive & very handy little phone, simple & honest, no frills, will fit in places other won't & it had a decent quality feel to it. Usual Sony Ericsson common sense interface & takes same charger as more expensive models. I love the simplicity of this device so pleased it's not crammed with daft add on's, you get the essentials like Bluetooth & an emergency use (actually not that bad) camera. If you want a music player buy an MP3 for heaven's sake, ITS A PHONE! At just 30 quid it's the bargain of the year!

Buy IT!

Advertised as having 8mg memory & no card slot! Advertised as a 1.3mg pixel camera!

So why are people complaining about the specification, if you want better specification why buy it? You don't buy a tin of baked beans & expect to find spaghetti inside!

Great little well built phone, no problem with volume of calls (it is adjustable) & no problem with signal.

The keys could be a bit small for people with large hands.

All in all great value for money.

Excellent phone which I got today. For texting & calling it's perfect. It's not meant to be able to hold 500 songs, 1000 pictures & 5000 themes so if that's what you were hoping for then you should have done your research first. Excellent phone anyway, & the sound is loud & clear.

A great looking phone that does everything that a phone should do. Yes it may have a small memory & only a 1.3 mega pixel camera but for someone who is only looking for a phone to text & call from then you will be hard pushed to find a better looking phone. Takes a while to get your contact list set up but once that is done the phone is fine. I have just got this one on pay as you go for £39.95 & it is unlocked so I can use it with any network provider.

This phone looks good & is ideal for a child who you want to have contact with when they are out. The memory is nearly nonexistent, but that's OK as it's not a toy for him, & on the plus side it has speaker phone so he doesn't need to fry his brain when he rings home.

As it is so small, it can fit into any pocket & he can continue playing like he should. This phone is not something I would even think of having as an adult, but is great to keep my son safe.

I was bought this phone as a birthday present & am very pleased with its usability. The battery life is fantastic & the phone will last up to a week without needing a charge. However, when you make a call the battery does reduce quickly, so it's always bets to have a portable charger with you just in case!

The design of the phone is brilliant, small compact & looks a lot more expensive than it actually is. Another plus point is the non existence of the usual Sony Ericsson Sticky key in the centre. On all my previous phones this is always the function that fails to work.

This phone is easy to use for calls, texts & even simple Internet browsing. However, if you are looking for a phone with good graphics & camera functionality look elsewhere. This phone does have a basic camera but nothing to write home about at 1.3MP. Also the graphics are not great but good enough for normal phone functions.

If you're a big MP3 tone lover or want your phone for listening to music don't chose this phone, look at the Sony Ericsson Walkman phones. This phone does have 8MP of inbuilt memory which is fine for a couple of ringtones & any photos you may take, but you can't install any additional memory.

So in summary, a fantastically cheap & useable phone for the cost conscious.

For such an attractive looking handset, this phone is absolute rubbish. Do not buy unless all you want it for is basic text & calls. The memory is so small it can only take a couple of songs & a few pictures & it doesn't even have the option of adding extra memory. A complete letdown from Sony.

I bought this phone for several reasons. Sony Ericsson's usually have a very good battery life, so I expected the same from this phone. However this model's battery was not as good as my previous Nokia, which was a big disappointment. It goes flat very quickly, & requires constant charging. The memory is also very poor, as I discovered when a friend sent me a ringtone. 90% of the memory was used on just one ringtone! When sending text messages there is an annoying delay in the display moving on to the next letter, this causes you to make errors. The buttons are also very fragile & cheap feeling.

On the plus side it is a very good looking phone, & is one to be seen with. It looks expensive, & is very compact, & cute. Just be careful you don't lose it, or leave it lying around, as it's easily nicked!

If you want a basic phone, then this will suit you as it is cheap & does what it says on the box. If you are a heavy user, & send lots of texts, you will find it frustrating.
