To adjust the volume when talking to other people just press up or down while talking to someone, it is automatically set to fairly low so I would put it up to max. Do this at home or something as soon as you get the phone. Other than that being annoyingly obscure it is actually a really very solid phone with a very good battery life, decent accessories for it's price & simple to use.

Would recommend it.

Bearing in mind the price (£20 with a SIM on O2) this is a solid spare or emergency phone for me. Picked one up whilst waiting a fortnight for a repair, & have had the need to use it on & off ever since. You can't customise it particularly, & the camera is pointless, but for simple calling & text messaging it's good enough. The calendar is very fiddly, web browsing is functional but not very pleasant to use, & I've not tried the radio. But the very basic Internet, radio & camera on this phone aren't the point of it, it's a cheap handset, & it works.

I would not recommend this phone. Terrible sound quality, can't hear other people, phone cover chips & scratches at the slightest drop, messages often fail to send, can't add new words to dictionary.

I wanted a simple phone, but this phone fails the simplest tasks. It would definitely be worth the extra cash to buy a better phone. This was a waste of money.

Looks nice enough but misses three features that my old Ericsson had:

- A separate C (clear) button.
- A small overview of possible candidate words when using the dictionary.
- (this is the worst) NO ABILITY TO ADD WORDS TO the DICTIONARY.

At least it's got a faster response than Nokia phones.

It's got a cool look. But we can't transfer the photos to PC, its just Polyphonic, which is of no use. I feel there should have been an option of memory card to make it more user friendly. We can't do anything with the phone except attend calls & make calls. & send few text messages.

Got to say, for a cheap phone at £19.99, I am really pleased with this buy (only got it today). I simply need a phone for emergency phone calls & a few texts per week (& if my son decides to ring again from school). It is better to use than my old Samsung & has simple menus which I have navigated easily through.

Looks gorgeous, was one of the reasons I bought it but the screen size is a letdown as I am used to having flip tops with more screen size.

Bought it as a temporary replacement until the Xmas deals come out (my old phone died) & am already disappointed after having it for less than a week, despite being cheapish at $130 NZ.

There is NO caller ID whatsoever, a huge let down as you do not know who is calling until you answer the phone & ask them. Even then the sound is tinny & broken off (it's not my reception that's the problem) & it took me a while to even figure out how to answer a call as the screen does not tell you what button to press to answer it, & even the yes button would not do it.

Very little features, the camera comes with 2 options, one take picture & two exit to menu.

Would return this phone instantly if it didn't look so frigging good & had the radio. This redeems itself in my eyes. Slightly. Still can't wait for Christmas to come around.

This was £19.95 at the Carphone Warehouse. Had to get a new phone as lost my contract O2 phone & needed to replace the handset. I needed something cheap & easy to use as I only need to make & receive calls & texts message. I am very impressed with this phone, it is very easy to use, pictures are quite clear & it is true the sound is not great but was expecting lot worse after reading the other review. Very satisfied with my purchase.

The phone is good to use but I find it hard to send texts & navigate around because I keep catching other keys with my thumb! It gets quite annoying at times?

The sound from another person's voice when making a call sounds a bit tinny?

The battery doesn' t last long either & it's just with normal usage too I'd texting & the odd phone call.

Oh well for the price I paid for it I can't complain that much? Still worth a buy if you want a sleek classy phone. Happy communicating.

I have a problem with the phone book from day 1. The phone does not show some of the names (that I have in my phone book) while receiving calls, in the call list & in the SMS inbox list! It was sent for the fix, software was refreshed, but still the same. I think it might be a hardware problem!

It also lacks the Auto-Redial, a very basic & important feature for me. I also can't send all my phonebook VIA IR for backup (only one by one is possible).

Lovely little phone. I wanted something that was JUST A PHONE! & this is just the job. A bit of a risk as my last Sony's keypad went wrong, but although the keys on this are slightly stodgy (but not bad), I love the feel general of it. Looks great, nice tones, quality sound (seems obvious but try a Samsung E720, nightmare), & just all round cool & cute.

Looks pretty nice, a bit like the Motorola L6, but smaller & feels more comfortable in your trouser pocket. Good call quality, but as someone else posted, hard to talk & listen at the same time. Texting is a doddle. Camera is not so good. I haven't tried the radio yet. Don't know what battery life is like yet as I just bought it today. Looks & functions OK, being the cheap alternative. I have just one bug, but a big one when listening to radio for more than 10 minutes makes it loose contact with SIM card! This is more than a bit annoying, since the radio is the single feature I might accept to pay extra for.

& a minor mis design it seems like I am not supposed to remove the backing. Almost impossible to get it off, especially without breaking loose the lens cover too.

By now, I've been patient & let the store repair or change the phone, but if four individual phones one after the other displays the same trouble, there is something fishy about.

It's just so Zen. I love the fact that all the useless customization options & such have been dropped in favour of a really simple, clean & fast user interface. The UI might not be filled with dazzling eye candy, but it certainly isn't ugly (well. Apart from the calendar screen which looks hideous).

Sure enough, T250i has some shortcomings, but all in all it's a great little phone for its price. The worst problem for me is that the wap browser seems to have a mind of its own when it comes to rendering pages, but then Sony Ericsson browsers have always been terrible.

I bought this for my wife's valentine, but after using it a day she was disappointed, because she couldn't enter much in the phone book, only the name & phone number. I have another Sony Ericcson that cost the same price but where you can enter names & addresses etc., so we will switch. For me it's OK, the features to hear FM radio & the delivered headset are nice, & it also has a build in camera. Since I am often on the plane the quadriband covering is interesting. Good price/quality, seems also strongly build.

I bought this as a second phone, as a backup should anything go wrong with my Motorola V8.

The handset looks great & is easy to use, & everything is very simple. Texting, calling, picture messaging (with VGA camera), calendar & calculator are all present, & all one is likely to need or expect with such an entry level handset. Yes, the operating system is like something from 2002, but then this is meant to be a basic phone. If you want a cheap or spare phone that works well & is easy to use, get it. If you want something up-to-date with all the latest gadgets, avoid.

CONS, speaker volume is very quiet, & cannot be adjusted.

Have just finished an 18 month contract with 3 using a Sony Ericsson K800i (a brick) & just one month payment would buy one of these great phones. It's simple, it's cute, it's reliable & looks great & quite honestly some of the comments other People have left is plain daft. What do you expect from a phone that cost just £30.00? the other great thing about this phone is if you do happen to lose, break, have it stolen, it's not the end of the world, like it would be if you owned an iPhone. Just go out & buy another!

Disappointing to have a phone that looks pretty nice & feels a lot better made than some more expensive Sony models but lacking such basic features as a user dictionary. This is meant to be an entry level phone but really ought to have this most fundamental of features. It also doesn't look like such a good deal now that you can get the W200 for £35 which has a decent interface & a music player, albeit hampered by a small memory stick.

I am really disappointed with the Sony Ericsson T250i. There are very few things that can be customised in the phones settings.

But the biggest problem is that you can't add any words to the built in dictionary! Furthermore, the dictionary is really flawed, it simply does not include very commonly used words.

Do not by this phone as it is junk!

Good basic phone for talking & texting, but you'll soon notice some missing features. You can't zoom in on photos, despite the camera's resolution exceeding the display. Actually, for a VGA, the cameras adequate, & the pictures are about as large as you can send by MMS anyway.

You can't assign images or tones to individual contacts, & contact names are limited in length, even when stored on the phone as opposed to the SIM. It doesn't have the sophistication of Nokia's profiles, but you do have Silent, Discreet, Normal & Loud modes for the phone, which should cover most bases.

The infra-red's pitifully weak. I have to have the transmitter & receiver windows practically touching to get it to work, despite Sony Ericsson's quoted 6 to 8 operational range.

Those are the bad points. But the good points outweigh those minor gripes for a basic phone to talk & text with, & for £30, it can't really be faulted.

Nice looking phone but be warned before you buy!

You CAN NOT add any words to the built in dictionary which is a total pain, so basically unless you are texting simple texts. The predictive text is useless. Another problem is the font is really small & no option to change it.

Took mine back & got a refund. Shame as it's a great looking phone just not very user friendly.

Just got this phone & before I got it I read comments from other users, they have got it right. It is easy to use from the word GO. Looks really nice, slim & light, compared to other phones this one is the best one to have, does all I need it to do, perfect in all ways.

T250i is very sleek, nice to use phone with great looks. It is quite light weight & easy to carry. The keypad is also very efficient.

It's slightly difficult to type SMS, as I am new to its keypad & the intelligent text concepts.

Overall, very good phone for its price.

Near perfect! You've got to own it to believe its stunning beauty. The designers did a fabulous job on this model. The detailing is simply awesome. The brushed aluminium finish, the metallic detailing on the sides, the refined navigation key with spin effect & a laser-cut logo on the back. It really doesn't get better that this from a design perspective. A detail freak to be honest.

At its price (I got it at Rs 4200 [105 USD approx]) it's the very best you can expect if you are willing to shed out a little extra just for the design exclusivity. Usability is super simple & flaunting it is fun! Go for it folks, you won't regret it!

Great phone. Nice design & easy to use.

One complaint is that when using predictive text it's not possible to add words to the dictionary that are not already in there! However turning the dictionary off & on, can be done easily by just holding the * key so that's a way to get around it!

Other than that it's a good phone!
