I had been using this phone since 2 years & I lost it just a few days back. It's been a very good phone. It's got very good features but the one I'd like to mention is that it's very sturdy. I have inadvertently dropped the phone many times even while I am speaking, but never has it broken or opened, for that matter, never has even my call got disconnected. I wish to buy the same phone again.

I absolutely loved this phone. Having had it for over 2 & a half years I was devastated when I accidently put it in the wash, I was expecting at least another year out of it. I've always found the Sony Ericsson phones easy to use & the thing I loved about the K810i was its great camera & the powerful xenon flash, took many a great holiday photo with it. The buttons are also a great shape & very easy to text with. I did have a few problems with the joystick however, it used to stick for about 10 seconds but this only happened occasionally.

I would happily buy this phone again.

Hi all, I have been using this phone since 31 Dec 2009. This phone has great camera n features but I found it somewhat disappointing for its hardware. I have already given it once to repair for replacement of charging point connector. It was not only one problem that time it has also been giving problems with the joystick just after some months since the time of purchase. I got the phone formatted completely once but it dint solve the problem at all. Now the joystick doesn't function at all when scrolling down & in other directions its movements are very erratic. I am disappointed with this phone & don't even know what to do because it's a real pain to visit to service centre again & again after taking time out from busy schedule.

I have got to admit that it has been a good phone, I have had it a year & a half now & its fallen apart but I am a heavy user & threw it around a bit, the camera & the flash are amazing, the music player was o.k at best but had a wide variety of formats, the battery life was good considering I am a heavy user, the problems I have with it is its joystick, mine hardly worked ever & even when it did it wasn't smooth, it stuck a lot, the camera button on the side on the phone was also a problem because it never worked well, its a good phone in general & I would recommend it to anybody that is after a cheap phone with a powerful camera & a good music player.

I have had this phone since October 2007 (15 months at time of writing) & it has been excellent overall. It's very sturdy & can cope with a bit of grime & hitting the ground at speed from being dropped! Only a couple of minor issues. The navigation button has suffered from similar problems as others have previously noted, I.e. Not going in certain directions. On my model it only goes left or enter, down, up right all work as enter or nothing at all. It happened after 8 months, but I do use it intensively for gaming, music, organiser etc. Basically everything! Camera is spot on, would have preferred it to have the nifty torchlight that the K750 had (in case you are stuck up the Himalayas) which was my last phone for 2 years previous to the K810i, & that STILL works perfectly fine. I use that as a back up when the K810i isn't working or needing charged. Oh yeah, the tiny Internet browser button on the left of the keypad fell off. Quite unprovoked too! But since I use opera mini as my phone's web browser it's not a hindrance in any way, because I never used that button.

Currently looking into getting the nav button fixed & enjoying more years of relentless service.

It's been almost a year of using the K810i. Quite good too, it serve me well. The camera, the speaker, they all rock. Anyway, the big fault is the joystick. I started to have problem with it after a month I bought it. What? I just bought it & it is spoilt already? Well, maybe because I use it often with playing games. Advice, even thought it can play 3D & other cool stuff, it's not a game console, it's a camera. You know, K810i equals K equals Kamera. Sony should consider of making a better joystick or consider if the joystick idea should exist. Maybe a Sony Ericsson PS810i equals PS equals Play Station? Anyway, K810i is still the best phone, I say it just because I own one.

After a full year's service I've just retired my K810i & replaced it with a C905. The K810i was my first Sony Ericsson handset, having previously been a Nokia diehard. Feature wise, the K810i was the best phone I've had so far. The camera, with its xenon flash, was good enough to serve as a holiday camera, especially after I'd fitted it with a 4GB memory card. This also allowed me to store masses of tunes & use the K810i as an MP3 player. If only I could have used my own headphones instead of the supplied headset. I appreciate though that a headphone jack would probably add bulk overall to the handset. I always thought the K810i was an odd looking thing. Hardly chic or stylish but then not really ugly either. Right up until the end of the year, I had no problems using the keypad or the joystick. Now however, the back key & down on the joystick don't really work anymore. This is the only reason I have upgraded this otherwise fantastic little handset. I plan to keep using the K810i when I am taking part in outdoor pursuits to try to preserve the shiny new good looks of my C905, at least till the novelty wears off!

I have had this phone for over a year now, & it is still working perfectly. The round buttons are stylish & very very easy to use! The joystick is a good addition & also easy to use. The only thing that I would say is that sometimes my phone freezes for 15 seconds or so but that is probably my fault as I have dropped it a few times!

This is a seriously under rated phone. The k800i won a shed load of awards but this gets nothing. It is very user friendly, has a powerful xenon flash 3.2MP camera & a good music player considering it is not a Walkman phone. The only downside is the joystick but I've had it for 18 months & it hasn't played up. Hope I am not tempting fate. The keys on the k850i were a nightmare, so give me the joystick over that any day! A highly recommended phone!

I would highly recommend this phone. It has all the features of the legendary K800i but in a lighter, sleeker body. The metallic round keys are surprisingly user friendly & are easy to text with. The camera has been recessed so does not jut out at the back, & it is much thinner & lighter than the k800i. I've had no problems with the joystick, although I think it was unwise of Sony Ericsson to put in a joystick rather than a D pad, as many users do have problems with it as it gets older.

All in all a very good buy though & recommended to all.

Well, I bought this phone off eBay with some trepidation. But it arrived in as new condition as promised. I really love it, the keypad is great, but then I am used to Sony Ericsson's.

The round buttons don't hurt my fingers at all when texting, unlike some reviewers report. They just add a bit of style to the phone & I can text as fast as I could with my old K800i. The 3.2MP camera with xenon flash takes awesome pictures & the MP3 player is good too. MP3 N-Series camera phone.

No problems with the joystick but it's early days yet. The K800i had the same problem, becoming clogged with dust & unresponsive as it aged.

Really this is a slimmed down lighter version of the K800i. The camera doesn't stick out at the back & overall it weighs less. It is much easier to carry in your pocket & fits in my jeans well, especially after having had to squeeze the k800i in! I really loved the old k800i but felt like I needed a change, the K810i doesn't offer much more than the K800i just a few tweaks here & there, like the buttons etc. That's alright with me though, as I loved the k800i & couldn't see how they could improve it, but they have with the k810i. Very pleased with my purchase!

I bought this phone on Sony Ericsson's reputation of longer battery life & superior sound quality.

Camera is just great. But when transferred to a PC looks little blurred. Other than the camera the phone is quite boring one.

Speakers & keypad is disappointing very much. Metallic round keypads are a big letdown & not so user friendly.

I'd have opted for the Nokia 5610 XpressMusic which is in the similar price range.

Plus points, Easy to use! Looks good! Loud ring tones so never missed a call or a text! Once battery is charged it lasts a very long time!

Minus points, Camera stopped working after 12 months (I was using it a lot). Middle joystick started failing after 14 months.

I bought this phone about a year ago, mostly for the camera. I've been a Nokia girl for most of my life, so it took a little while to get used to the menus.

People have mentioned lots of little troubles with this phone, e.g. Joystick not working. I've had no trouble with this phone whatsoever. I admit the little metal keys can be a little annoying, but it's like with anything, you just have to work out the best way to approach them.

Hasn't failed on me once. Great phone, only reason I am upgrading to a N96, is because I want to try out one of these Smart Phones.

Excellent phone! I have had mine now for 18 months & am just about to upgrade to something different. The phone has everything you would need & is stylish & very robust. I dropped mine more times than enough, once into water, & it simply will not give up on me. Have had instances where the joystick freezes occasionally but I am talking about once a month if even. I have replaced mine 3 times under insurance but I guess driving over one & shutting the other in the car door is excusable. Only downside is the video quality for recordings. Not very sharp at all. Camera great on the other hand & flash is best available. Altogether I would highly recommend it.

BUT, the joystick is awful, this is getting to be a real pain for me know.

I love everything about my K810i APART from the fact that for some unknown reason all my text messages have been erased from my phone without me pressing a single button. I opened my inbox to find everything gone but two picture messages & I am so annoyed.

Has anyone else experienced this & if so did the messages reappear? My phone has been like this for 2 days now : (.

Awesome phone. I got the Brown & Golden one yesterday as my birthday gift, this phone is simply PERFECT. I know some people are saying that the speakers of the phone aren't good because the phone doesn't have loud music, but a friend of mine is a genius. She did it for her phone & will do it for me too. She can increase my phone's music. I am satisfied with this phone & recommend it to all.

I Love this phone, I get a new phone every year & this is the best phone I've had. It has become my baby.

It has all the features you could ever need & it is so appealing though it is a little bit big especially when you want to carry it around in your pocket.

Also I have never been able to make a video call using it does anyone know how?

But anyway I would recommend this phone to anyone & I am even having doubts about swapping it for another one this year.

My screen broke after 6 weeks. It appeared to burn through. I got told it was un repairable by the manufacturer who reckoned I must have crushed it. (I watched the screen burn through whilst it was in my hand as I was using it! ) I bought a new screen off the Internet & repaired it myself. Lasted about another 6 weeks before it went again in exactly the same manner. It was a wonderful phone during the short period it worked, great camera though the hands-free loudspeaker could be better. However I wouldn't recommend it at all.

I have had this phone for a while now but still completely love it. Normally I get bored of phone & want a new one within 6 months. This phone has lasted me a year & I am still going.

I always text & have found this phone comfortable & quick to text on. The small round keys work perfectly for me & all my friends that have tried it.

People are complaining about the battery life but mine can last about two & half days without me charging it but then whenever possible I charge it all the time at night.

I did not find any problem with the sound & it goes loud enough for me with or without headphones.

To look at the phone is quite big but you get use to it & in the end I found it nicer to have the larger screen when normally I would go for the nice compact looking phone.

The only problems I have experienced with this phone is one of the buttons broke, it sometimes freezes when browsing through pictures & it does scratch easily. However I am a clumsy person & have dropped it a fair amount of times. I have found that the battery cover comes loose very easily & in the past I have lost it & had to replace it. Before I brought the phone I read reviews about it & many people said the joystick became stiff. I only experienced this once for about 5 minutes.

Overall this phone is a joy & I am glad I choose it.

Not a bad phone at all! Did a lot of research before getting this & it lives up to expectation, however, currently having problems texting but I think that may be due to dropping or water damage.

The screen timeout which is supposed to save battery is a little short & annoying & the space between the screen & the joystick could have been reduced but otherwise, a good phone.

This is a great phone, one problem though, the position of the Internet button. I have received huge phone bills as this phone constantly connects to the Internet if you don't lock the keypad.

I have my phone on automatic keypad lock but it still manages to connect me to the net when I don't want it to, costing me at least £50 over the months I've had it.

I am about to upgrade to the Samsung Soul but I have enjoyed this phone & I would recommend it. Just watch the Internet button or you may have huge bills or run your credit down without meaning to.

Great phone to have. When I got it I fell in love with it.

But after a couple of days I faced one problem that when I was sending quite a bilk of pictures from my phone to another my Nokia 6233 phone, after sending quite huge amount of data, my k810 just hangs on & when I pressed any key it gets restarted. But don't get afraid friends because I experimented this thing many & many times on my both Sony k810 & Nokia 6233 phones. At the end I got to the point that all this was happening because of my Nokia 6233 phone. When the memory of it gets something filled up not full, it holds on the Bluetooth incoming transfer. As a result my Sony k810 hangs up & when I press any key or try to cancel the transfer, it gets restarted. After restarting I again try to send the same or some other file from k810 to Nokia but it won't send & again same thing happens. But LISTEN CAREFULLY now, when again I try to send the same file from k810 to Nokia & it can't send it BUT NOW IF I DELETE ANY FILE OR A COUPLE OF FILES FROM Nokia PHONE & TRY AGAIN TO SEND ANY FILE FROM K810 TO Nokia, IT SUCCESFULLY TRANSFERS the FILES. Now friends I got my answer & that was my question from you all, you all experiment this thing & post here, whether I am right or wrong. Should I approach the Sony service centre or this thing is normal? Waiting for your comments.

Hi everyone, I have had this phone since 7 months & can briefly tell you the positives & the negatives according to my experience.

The positives.
- Fairly good design.
- Fairly good usability.
- Great camera quality & flash.
- Also great for media.
- Easy to use.

The negatives.
- Battery (a problem with every modern phone these days).
- Poor video recording quality.

For some people this might help them make their decision to buy this phone.

Overall I would recommend this phone & give it about 80 to 90 percentage score.

I found this phone very frustrating to use. I usually get bored with phones after about a year but was desperate to get rid of this one after a couple of months. The menus drove me mad as it seemed to take ages to find the feature I wanted. On the plus side it is a nice looking phone, although maybe slightly large & heavy & it has some good features, I love Facewarp!

The camera is good but the slider that covers the lens keeps coming open whilst the phone is in your bag or pocket & could lead to scratching or dirt etc on the lens.

There is a REALLY ANNOYING function that makes your screen go black if you don't use the phone for a few SECONDS. You have to press a key to get the screen back to life & it doesn't always work first time! I could not find a way to lengthen the time before this happened & it was so exasperating when writing texts.

The key pad is AWFUL. On the positive side the metal keys are well spaced apart but I am a texter rather than talker & little metal buttons physically hurt my thumb. I've now gone for a Nokia & this is so simple to use it is marvellous.

Had this since summer 2007 & love some aspects of it but now (9 months later) it seems to have had it.

I never drop it, always keep it in a case & it has been really well looked after & looks fabulous. But it has got progressively slower & slower starting up & changing from mode to mode, & has always been a glitchy & frustrating when navigating around, & now the toggle & buttons are freezing up randomly for hours on end which makes it useless, especially in emergencies!

It's going to have to go back this weekend as I rely on constant contact. I also take loads of pictures, so need a reliable, portable camera.

In addition, things that are particularly annoying.

- the energy saver means the screen cuts out constantly in the middle of texting & searching etc.

- the original battery lasted no time (& the second is only a little better).

- Everytime I pick it up I am logged on to the net! The position & design of this button is seriously flawed!

- the lens cover slips open all the time when not in its case.

- When zooming in to take a picture, after seeing the image, you have to re zoom each time as it doesn't stay with your last position, VERY frustrating when you want to take lots of shots in a hurry.

- the camera mode changes to video mode constantly between shots which means I waste time changing back again.

- You have to save the videos before exiting or your work is lost.

That's all I can think of for now, but I am sure there's more. I researched this phone so thoroughly before I bought it (paying £90 for the model) that at last I thought I'd found the perfect phone. Truly disappointed am I.

Being a perfectionist I suppose, I have to clean the screen now & then, because I can't stand to see any fingerprints on my beautiful phone. But overall, this is a superb phone, & I definitely would recommend it to everyone.

I have now had this phone since early July 2007 I do think this phone is good but after about 3 months its starts to get slower. The joysticks starts to stick & it can be a real pain having to scroll down menus. The camera is still great & having dropped the phone hundreds of times on concrete, wood, tiles & metal the phone still isn't showing a scratch. If you are looking for a camera phone this is the phone to get. Mine has only frozen 2 times & I have never had to go back to the shop with it. The standby memory might be a bit on the low side but on amazon you can pick up a M2 memory card for about £20.

P.S. The speakers are reasonable & all of the functions like track id do work but the major problem is the Internet BUTTON this button is so annoying because in your pocket it presses its self making you waste credit or go over your contract by a lot of money.

Orange say they have never had this problem before, are they right, have I got the only phone in the UK where the keys have fallen off?

I've had to take mine back to Carphone Warehouse 3 times now. One was that it kept turning off. Two was because the buttons came loose & fell off & thirdly the camera flash had removed itself when they done & software update on it & the phone's buttons had come off again.

The phones camera quality is amazing. It comes with editing features & flash is superb. The sound quality of the phone is good & clear without any muffling. The annoying thing is that the buttons are small & it's very chunky & heavy.

I've had many troubles with this phone & it gets on my nerves quite regularly. One with it being slow, I also have memory card so that can't be the reason.

I personally wouldn't recommend it but at the end of the day it's your choice & no one else's.

A real good phone with amazing Video & Audio clarity.

Pluses
- Amazing Video Clarity.
- Amazing Audio Clarity.
- Smooth transition between menu items.
- Two neat keys on the top to have quick access to photos.
- Great way of arranging keys on the key pad.
- Xenon flash which otherwise is not so common with mobile phones.
- Dual camera phone to help you have video conferences.
- At par with the Sony Walkman Series phones.
- Worth you money.

Negatives
- Average speaker output.
- Poor battery backup.

Fact, it is difficult to get all the features we want in one phone. But for the above two obvious disadvantages, this is a great phone to have.

I have had this phone since early October & have had no problems.

Yeah the web does come up, but if you put the phone on lock then it won't, & because the camera cover keeps opening I put it in a phone sock & its fine.

I really like this phone, I have 2 games which are alright, & have hundreds of songs on it now.

Overall, really good. Had no problems.

This phone is superb, there are 2 games that are OK, but for the best games you have to pay, but what do you expect?

The lens cover slides open a bit but that is because it is in & out of my pocket all of the time. Had the phone for three months & not one fault with it so far, & I have had terrible luck with everything I have bought in 2007, this phone is excellent & I would recommend it to anyone.

The camera (3.2MP) is awesome, has photo fix, & photo create & face warp were you can do amazing things with photos. It's not a Walkman phone but has the design to be one, there's a music layer that works exactly the same as the Walkman phones :).

This phone has a thumbs up from me, it's just superb.

You just have to take time to learn & explore the features. For those out there who has it, be patient with it, take time to learn the menus, especially if it's YOUR FIRST TIME TO OWN A Sony Ericsson mobile phone! DISCOVER EVERY DETAIL OF IT. You'll love it until another best comes out of the market, probably by 2010 another best mobile phone would come out of the market.

I would not recommend this phone at all. My friend has the k800i & this is much better quality. Hers has lasted so much longer.

Problems on mine include the camera breaking & generally not working & echoing on the line.

I liked the look of it & the excellent camera, but as a few others have said.

- the camera cover keeps sliding open.
- There are no free games so my son was very disappointed.
- Don't know whether it's a problem associated with this phone & Orange, but the buttons are erratic & often don't work & the phone slips into the web connection costing me too much!

I'd be happy if it could be fixed & work properly & dread a situation that it's this bad after a couple of months, what will it be like in 18 months. I have contacted Sony Ericsson, waiting to hear from them.

On the whole not a bad phone. I will agree that the speaker could do with being turned up even more. On maximum it's barely heard without the vibrate function enabled.

I have had my phone a little over 5 months & it has already been in for repair once already after the number & letter keys froze up & I was unable to use it. Couldn't even dial 999 if I wanted to!

Most annoying feature is that there is a button above left of the number 1 key which when knocked in your pocket will connect to the net. Great way of losing yourself money when you pay for downloads etc.

Back to Nokia for me on the next one.

I have to switch it off & on about 20 times & re enter the pin each time before it will work. Once it has recognised my pin & got working it is fine. I wouldn't say it was a great phone though, why isn't there a home key to get you back up through all the menus? (or have I just not found it yet? ).

Hello people. Can anyone help me? I am about to buy this phone & my current phone is N73, but LOL its already beaten up! & I am bored of it, I want something new & exciting with great style like the K810i but I tried looking around to Sony Ericsson stores but they said they're out of stock!

I really love the design & the little round keypads, look absolutely amazing ! They're unique! The shape of the phone is also amazing plus the colour or the phone. I love the blue one. I was thinking about buying a 5MP camera phone but no phones with that 5MP are as stylish as K810i.

I heard a lot of problems about the speaker but as much as I love photography & music. I love the style & picture quality, music in mobile phones, I am not a big fan of that since we have iPods. I am looking forward to buying this baby. But that's if I can find it.

The problems are that it is really slow it takes 30 seconds to respond when I press the buttons or if I try to answer it won't answer at all which means I have to phone everybody back, good ploy to make money. I have had other phones on the Orange network (Nokia) which I have had similar problems with. Any clue why?

Hi. I bought this phone yesterday. The best part of the phone is the 3.2MP Camera & the auto fix feature (though it takes 15 seconds to fix the picture but the feature is really nice). Above all it comes with 2Gb card :) so keep clicking. If you are a camera lover then this is the right phone for you.

The worst part of the phone is its speaker. (It's really low as compared to any other Sony phone). In fact at full volume you can calculate a low speaker noise. If you are a music lover then do try another phone.

Overall the phone is nice & almost similar to K790i.

SO MY POINT OF VIEW IS you CAN'T SHOW YOUR CAMERA to ALL BUT WHEN RING TONE WILL APPEAR ALL ATENTION WILL BE THERE. IN THIS POINT you MAY GO for Nokia 6233 (LOW PRICE BUT SOUND GREAT, CAMERA AVERAGE) OR Nokia N73 IT'S BEST. (CAMERA, SOUND, ALL FEATURE LOADED) Thanks.

I have this phone for a few days now. All I can say is that it's an outstanding phone. This is my first Sony Ericsson phone, I am a Nokia user ever since from Nokia 3210 up to the Nokia 6680 & Nokia 6080 & I can't find any faults in this phone as often told by Nokia Fanatics. For me Sony Ericsson released the phone as a lure to get those people who don't own a CYBERSHOT PHONE yet & yes it's just like its predecessor the K800i so I will not really recommend owners of K800i to upgrade to this since there is not much difference (by the way my brother owns a K800i so I know), the only difference is of course it comes in a new nutshell though the same style as K800i (come on guys as if Nokia don't use the same platform for their newer models, actually I think they pioneered in recycling the looks of their previous phone models, furthermore look at the RIZRs of Motorola don't they look the same? So stop complaining & just be satisfied on what they have to offer) & they just added some light effects when in camera mode for the key functions of numbers (1, 4, 7, & *), anyway I will definitely recommend for those who are not yet CYBERSHOT phone owners to get this unit, I tell you will not regret it but if you still have some extra money to shell out I think you have to go for the K850i if you really want a CYBERSHOT phone. About the constant complains about the Joystick, come on its easy to use just toggle it lightly, & they say it is a magnet for dirt & dust? Well everything gets dirty in a matter of time it's just the way you maintain your gadgets even the Direction Pad of other phones gets dirty specially in the corners of which, so again stop complaining. Some people are just hard to please I think.

Rubbish phone - comes preloaded with rubbish video & pictures & it's too hard to find your own stuff as the rubbish takes priority. Who wants video of a plane taking off that means nothing to you? Every menu leads to downloadable stuff that you wouldn't actually ever want. The phone is so basic you can't even set it up not to save sent messages. You have to delete each time you've sent. How ridiculous. You cannot change the text size or font, so how anyone can read the little display of time & date I'll never know. You cannot specify how long it stays on, so in the middle of sending a text & to pause for a sec to think of how to write what you want for maximum effect - the thing switches off! Worst of all, the software disc for your laptop is so old it doesn't even support Home Vista. Absolute rubbish. Have had the phone 4 days & I am already counting down to the end of my 18 month contract so I can get rid of it & upgrade to a decent phone.

The picture quality is excellent, it's easy to use & it's sleek. The only thing that is slightly annoying is if you want to listen to your MP3 player with your headphones you can't listen at the same time as charging, but this is a minor niggle for an otherwise seriously excellent phone. Got the phone last month & my mate got Nokia N95. The N95 has loads of problems with the software, not to mention a battery that needs to be connected to the mains everyday (yes, it's a semi mobile phone! ).

If you want a phone that is GREAT as a phone (fully mobile) & does more & is a proper camera get the Sony Ericsson K810i.

If you want a flash but rubbish phone that tries to do everything & loses the plot along the way, get the N95 (the screen & 5MP camera are amazing - but you couldn't careless when you're on a phone call & it gives low battery warning).

The K810i even has 'spot metering' & you can do 'depth of field' shots where the bit you didn't focus on is blurred, like pro cameras! I kid you not.

There is a K850 with 5 Megapixel camera on the way, so you may wish to hold on to your money till then.

K810i = GOOD PHONE (Since it's still relatively new it could do with more language sets being available on the firmware).

Excellent phone. I have had Nokia phones previously but prefer this one. Having used it for 2 months now the only real problem I find is battery life is a bit less than I would expect even though I only use it for text messages & the occasional call. This may be because I work in a poor signal area & it has to constantly hunt for a connection.

Otherwise a great phone with an excellent camera - would recommend it to anyone.

Well done to Sony Ericsson for fitting a lens cover to the camera too - why can't all mobiles have this!

I've had one for a little while now & absolutely no complaints. Never crashes or restarts itself like the Nokia's I've owned. I got a good deal through GB phones, 400 mins & 500 texts for £30 a month on 02. Wish the buttons were a little bigger for my sausage fingers though. (My fault, not the phone's!).

I have had this phone for almost a week. The most annoying thing for me is that the text message alert only goes off once & can't be changed, I have never had a phone that didn't repeat the alarm over & over & I think that is what I need! I don't carry it in my pocket but in my handbag & if I don't hear it the first time, that's it. The speakers are not very loud & I've got it up full blast!

Also the camera lens cover keeps slipping open, which automatically turns on the camera. The camera is very good, even giving a red eye setting, my husband has the k800i which is extremely similar & the main reason he got me this one, have taken some fab photos at concerts with his one. Don't have time to listen to the music so no idea whether that's any good!

At the moment I have 14 days to exchange this phone & I am not sure what to do there is nothing out there that I like. Bring back some more flip phones.

I have just upgraded to this from the w800i Walkman phone & I have to say first impressions are good :)

The only thing I found a bit funny up till now are the small round buttons instead of the usual full size key, but I am sure in time I will get used to it. The disc that comes with the phone to use with your PC is a doddle to use & gives brill results. The screen is large & the colours are fab, the cybershot takes fantastic pictures.

I would recommend this phone to anyone, its great fun, enjoy.

OK got the phone today after ordering it yesterday, O2 really good like that by the way! Also got a new SIM card which was 3G ready or something, easy to ring up & activate & kept my same number!

When I got the phone I noticed that it's slightly bulkier than I anticipated, but that is to cater for the really large screen which compensates! The camera is really good but the features such as the bestpic feature is a little difficult to understand at first!

If your not used to Sony Ericsson's then the joystick can take some getting used to but after a couple of hours its fine! Overall a really good phone that just takes some amount of time to understand & get used to, I would totally recommend as I have had Samsung's in the past which I thought were amazing but Sony Ericsson's have so much more to offer & I am completely converted!

Has anyone had a problem with this phone on Orange?

Had 2 of these phones in 2 weeks & finally admitted they didn't know what was wrong with it & wanted to send the phone back so their engineers could look at it. Anyways cancelled my contract & ended up with the N73 Nokia which is shocking. Really want the Sony Ericsson K810i but last two I have had, went all sluggish, joystick kept sticking & the phone wouldn't answer when anyone called. The phone was fine but after a few days went all sluggish & it got to point where I couldn't use it. Is it just Orange or anyone other else had this problem? I love the phone just want one that works!

I've had Samsung & Nokia in the past so getting used to the Sony was always going to take a while to get used to. I loved the FEATURES on my last phone, the Nokia N73, BUT did not love the RELIABILITY of it! So in comparison, the features of the K810i are a little disappointing. You cannot password protect your texts, pictures etc. The passwords only come into effect when the phone is initially switched on. Also, the easy access buttons at the top allow anyone to look at your pics TOO easily so you have to remember to put them into folders. Good enough camera but not as good as the N73 even though the specs are the same & there is no timer. Also when a text message comes in, rather than just telling you that you have a new message, you can actually see the message! Not ideal from a privacy point of view! So on the whole, the handset MAY be more reliable than the Nokia (only time will tell), but definitely protection.

I cannot really see what anyone can complain about this phone!

I have reviewed & seen the N95, U600 & others & found this to be really easy to use & simply a fantastic phone. OK, if you have a K800i then don't bother upgrading to this but if you are a new Sony Ericsson customer (like me) then forget the Nokia & Samsung, you definitely will not be disappointed with this phone!

the keys are NOT that fiddly to use, the screen & other features are brilliant! No need to take my word for it, simply go to a mobile shop & try one & you will see. The & series of Nokia's, especially the N95 WILL crash! Just ask your phone provider to see how many have been returned! The U600's keypad is rather difficult to use if you are going to text a lot! BE WARNED! The K810i will not disappoint at all! I've given this phone 10/10 as compared to the rest, but this is my opinion, but I am sure the majority will agree.

I was previously with Nokia & looked at the different Nokia phones but didn't see one I fell in love with. So I looked at different makes of phones & came across the Sony Ericsson W850i & loved all its features but I felt it looked very chunky, but then I saw the Sony Ericsson K810i & fell in love with it. Excitedly on the day of my upgrade I raced to the shop to pick up my pride & joy. It's been 4 days now & I can say that my new phone has not left my hand. It's a great all round phone. A lot of people have mentioned the great camera it has, I was mainly after a phone with a MP3 player & I am very impress with it. The K810i is free on a 12 month contract with 300 minutes & 400 texts costing £35 per month. It is half price for the 1st 9 months but I need to claim the cash back after the 9 months.

The second phone is a Nokia N95. This is a free upgrade on an 18 month contract with 200 minutes & 250 texts costing £25 per month. The N95 seems a little fiddly but will it become easier to use over time? Please help as I need to send one back soon! Cheers.

I've had this phone for a few weeks & have so far been very pleased with it. I was tempted to go for the Samsung U600 as on paper it has similar features (3.2MB camera, media player etc) & looks much nicer. Based on reviews & poor past experiences with Samsung I went for the K810i & it does everything it promises & does it very well.

I suppose you have to sacrifice the design (chunky frame) for an excellent camera & great music player. As I use both functions quite often it was worth it. I was initially unsure about the keypad design but it's been fine & found that I am less likely to press the wrong key as they are spaced far apart. All in all a solid & reliable phone with excellent multimedia options.

The phone is a good phone but there are two features that I am disappointed with.

- The memory card is tiny! I mean size as well as capacity.

- There seems to be a problem with receiving calls. When my phone is not in flight mode, people trying to call me can not get through & are diverted to my voicemail. I have to turn off the phone & turn it back on again for it to reconnect to the T-Mobile network. Very annoying.

The camera & camera features are really, really good & the quality of sound when using the phone is excellent. So apart from the previous two annoyances it is a great phone.

As a rule, I hate Sony Ericsson phones. Add to that the fact my last 3 phones have been Samsung sliders, which I loved & the 2 previous to that were flip phones which I also liked & you can probably guess I was a bit skeptical when I upgraded my contract & ordered this phone. I should also mention I would have ordered the Samsung U600 but for the touch sensitive buttons.

However, I've had this phone since Monday night & as much as I expected to hate it & to be sending it back, I cannot fault it!

The buttons look strange, but are actually kind of cool & remind me of something Bang & Olfson would do. They are also pretty easy to use which was something I wasn't expecting & the predictive text is vastly improved on the last Sony Ericsson I had (after which I vowed never to have one again).

The phone is also extremely easy to personalise with message tones, ringtones, themes, wallpapers, screensavers etc all user definable & interchangeable. The camera is the best I have ever had on a phone, its only 0.2 mp better than my last Samsung but the difference in quality is ridiculous & the flash is outstanding. All in all, I would call myself a convert to Sony Ericsson & recommend this phone to anyone.

Sony could have put a bit more pizzazz into the design instead of rehashing their older phone, but having said that, the design is not awful. It has all the features you could want of a phone (NOT an MP3 player, Video recorder, Laptop or sandwich toaster) & a pretty tasty camera too. If you don't have one - BE QUIET.

This is a fantastic phone. I have only one issue about the construction of the lens cover which scratches really easily as it's made from flimsy plastic rather than the rubbery substance that makes up the back of the phone. I've had mine a week & the lens cover looks like I've had it a year. Other than that everything works as expected with a sensible menu & great battery life.

I have just got my new Sony & it is the first I have owned. I am a Nokia lover but after reading reviews & trying the phone I just had to have one. It was fairly easy to get used to & a lot of the functions are easy to work. I have had a few mobile phones over the years but this is by far the best camera phone I have ever used. If you are still thinking about this phone then do go & get it, you won't be disappointed.

I have recently got this phone & the performance is really good & also stylish with small metal keys. First I saw this phone in a picture & I was impressed with those first pictures but after using the phone directly I am not satisfied with the keypad arrangement although the features are good. The picture clarity is excellent & the sound clarity is also good especially in the earphones (before purchasing I worried about the music clarity). The colour is also VERY good, but I felt the screen would have been bigger in screen size. The screen clarity is EXCELLENT while watching the video clips.

After entering the Orange shop & narrowing my decision down to the Nokia N95, the LG PRADA & the Sony Ericsson K810i, there was only one winner. I was allowed to test drive them all for a few hours the results were as follow:

Third Place: The LG PRADA - slow, unresponsive & man the camera is bad.

Second Place: The Nokia N95 - which was extremely good but it froze 6 times in 3 hours which was exceedingly annoying & ran so badly. But the phone when working was brilliant.

The Winner: The eventual winner, the Sony Ericsson K810i, left me with no regrets, it runs beautiful & the camera is superb. Not to mention the great Internet services & the MP3 player this is good.

So for all you with the same decision, go for the Sony every time & this should probably last you until the iPhone :D.

I've had 4 replacements of the K810i & yes they are a joy to use, but they all had the same problems:

They have appalling signal strength. I got 3-4 bars of signal & yet its emergency calls only. Both Phones 4u & Sony both say it's an antenna problem with the phones not the Vodafone network as my pay as you go W810i has never done that & I am on the same network.

The battery life is not that good, its about 3 hours talking or 48 hours standby, possibly due to applications running but not showing up on the phone such as 3G. The speaker is on the back which is not good & it is rubbish quality. Even my W810i (Walkman phone) was better but for Sony's new flagship K810i this is serious back peddling. The K810i reduces the Walkman feature to 5 out of 10, it can handle polyphonic tones just not MP3 so good.

Also the hands-free kit is huge! Like 3 times bigger than my ear hole & with no interchangeable heads, again back peddling for Sony, all I can say if you want a phone that looks stunning with an excellent camera buy this phone, but that's all its got going for it.

As a previous W810i owner I decided to ditch music capability for a better camera & 3G handset. The K810i is a truly impressive phone & camera, the latter is as good as you would expect for a 'mini' Cybershot, a real pleasure to use.

I can't see why some criticize the widely spaced small number buttons (reminiscent of some TV remotes), they are easy to use, especially for the 'larger handed'. Overall the phone's build quality is very good indeed as is the non-slip rear casing. The speaker is better than the W810 & the phones texting facilities are just fine. Internet browsing & download times are good & glitch free so far. The organizer is well thought out & easy to use.

The only games I got with the handset were demos - a minor niggle. Mine came with a low capacity M2 card installed, which will need upgrading. Summarising, if you want a 3G phone with a good camera, consider the K810i.

2) How loud & clear is the speaker sound on this phone? (Can you hear the person who you speak to in a crowd clearly or speaker loud is less than other phones)

3) How is the lens cover? (Is it opened in pocket easily like K800i or better)

4) How is the battery life & screen quality?

The phone is OK. Nothing special really as it has almost exactly the same spec as the K800i model except for a few camera add on's.

If anyone is thinking about changing a K800i for a K810i then I strongly recommend you DO NOT do it because there is no real difference except for looks. My friend has just bought this phone & hates the keypad! So if your someone who texts a lot of people then don't waste your time & money on this phone.

To the person who wants to buy a phone with great video quality, then I suggest you go for a Nokia N95 as much as it pains me to say it but at the moment no other phone comes close to the quality this phone produces!

I am waiting for the Sony Ericsson W580i :).

Just received the phone today, & having spent the last 3 hours delving into it, here's my initial impressions. The design & feel really could not be improved on, sits perfectly in the hand, & looks highly stylised with the metal keypad. No, it doesn't sport a fully touch sensitive screen ala prada or apple phones, but what use are they going to be in the summer if you can't see the display easily in bright sunlight? Boots up quickly, & shifts through menus without any discernable lag. Only issues which I personally believe should have been sorted prior to release are very hard to press soft keys & case noise when buttons pressed, certainly the design of the keypad is well spaced & the metal buttons work well without issue. Undoubtedly not the most feature packed phone on the current market, as say the Nokia N95, but if you want a stylish, well sorted phone with excellent camera, you won't go far wrong with the 810i.

Having spent over an hour irritating the nice young man in the O2 store Ilford by umming & ahhing about whether to get the very sleek & slinky Samsung u600, the super music friendly Sony w880i or this all singing & dancing shiny new Sony k810i I finally decided on this model purely on the vain cosmetic grounds of it only having been launched 2 days ago thus nobody else I know will have one yet!

After restlessly sitting on the loyal armchair flicking the sky hd remote aimlessly for 3 hours it was finally time to take my new dog & bone off charge & boot her up, I was immediately impressed at the bright clear screen & found myself getting to grips with the menu in no time at all! A bit of blue toothing of classic ring tones like 'follow follow', 'the sash my father wore' & even the BBC cricket theme later & it was well & truly feeling like my old trusted already. Though admittedly the buttons are a wee bit fiddly I think I'll get used to them in a day or 2 & that's coming from someone with shovel hands, going in to the wap gprs was quick & not a single error to report from surfing an array of sites ranging from chat to sky news which I found refreshing bordering on miraculous having toiled with that 6280 abortion for the last year! Then it was time to have a play with the camera, I've got a Sony cyber shot p200 digi camera anyway so this was not a massive factor in me getting the 810i but nonetheless having taken a few pics of mundane subjects like the garden, my cd collection, my aggressive overweight ungrateful cat, myself & the motor on the driveway I have to say they came out rather well & the flash did its job too though I'd like to download them on to the laptop before given a rock solid recommendation.

I haven't really gone in to any of the more finer settings yet or the pointless gadgets like rds FM tuners, I got a rather splendid arcam & denon hi-fi rig for that kind of thing but yes initial impressions count & this little number from the Japanese & Scandinavian alliance has got me purring like the fat grimalkin after she's had her Sunday treat from the Waitrose fish counter, I hope this pleasant surprise syndrome continues but if it doesn't I'll let you know!

It was awful & I hated it! So I'm none the wiser & heaps more confused about what to pick but if I do get it I shall try to give you a balanced verdict, though having led a painful mobile existence with a 6280 for the last 10 or 11 months I imagine I'll be praising up whatever I decide on.

This phone is out in Hong Kong about 1 wk ago.

If you have used K800i, this phone is 100% identical! The only feature is the camera cover that this one will be more user-friendly as if you have the phone in your pocket, you won't open up the cover by accident whereas K800i you will!

It looks nice but after 1 year, there isn't any software or functions upgrade which is a down side.

In the mean time, Nokia has released the King of Phone & cutting edge technology!

I have been a Sony user in the last 4 years. However, lack of new technology & new design have changed my mind that I should switch back to Nokia or someone else.

If you never had a 3M pixel phone before, & loves taking foto, then get it. Otherwise, if you won't mind about the battery, Nokia N95 would be a better buy for innovation & new ideas!

Got the phone yesterday from O2. It's basically just K800i facelift, but Sony Ericsson have solved issues I disliked about K800i. Phone is looking very good indeed, it's sleek & seems to be lighter than K800i. Phone sits in hand nicely, it's even thinner than k750i. First big improvement is the keypad size, its spot on, unlike big buttons of K800i. Also as the phone is thinner, I don't hit camera shutter every time I text something. Another good thing is that camera lens cover is not flimsy anymore & it's level with a back panel - well done, Sony Ericsson. The only difference in functions seems to be a direct access to some camera functions in camera mode. Nice little plus. What I don't like is that hard keys are somewhat hard to press, but takes little time to get used to it. & then a joystick. I've been trying to live with it since K750i - & this one is exactly the same, not the greatest pleasure to work with, but we all have to compromise sometimes:)

The bottom line: if I had to choose between K810i & K800i now, it's K810i all the way. If you have K800i already, go & see this one in the shop & then decide if it's worth upgrading.

Practically it has same features as k800i but the camera lens cover is built tougher & 'covered' safely from sliding itself. The phone design looks almost the same but thinner than k800i.

How do you know what the speakers sound like when this isn't out anywhere in the world 'officially'. I so want this. But Nokia will beat Sony to my wallet because of the waiting times for release & to be honest, all the hype is killing my buzz. It's only a phone for goodness sake. It's all over their website but nowhere to be seen.
