This phone is amazing! I am writing this review on it! This is the best mobile phone that I have ever had, it can minimize applications, & it also lets you listen to music while you are using applications. It will be two years old in November, & it is still going strong. I had a problem with the camera, where I was sliding it up & down too much, & the buttons 2, 5 & 4 ceased operating. I sent it away & I have had no problems with it since. I got the LG KS360 for Christmas 2009, & after 8 months of using it, I got fed up of it, & unlocked my K770i to use on 02. This is best action that I have taken in the past week, I forgot how much I missed it! I highly recommend this phone, as it has been dropped on so many hard surfaces & dropped into water so many times & it is still going strong (:.

I bought my K770i from an Internet auction site as a well used extremely cheap version so basically I wasn't expecting too much but after over 3 months useage I have found the phone easy to use & despite the rather creaky keypad, quite robust. After taking quite a few photos picture quality is good but not up to K800 standard!
For someone who wants a relatively cheap & reliable phone I would recommend. Highly recommended.

GOOD PHONE.
Reviewer: George - Nairobi, Kenya

It's a better phone to me because I can do a lot of things with it. I can say that it's a multipurpose phone. Calls are clear on any network, Memory is perfect, camera & video recording is just amazing, browses quickly, can accept all kinds of music that you need. It is durable because I bought it over a year ago, & no failures to tell I have encountered, though I have been very careless with it.

I love this phone. Its so durable. I have been using it for over a year. It has fallen on every kind of floor like a hundred times, sunk into soapy water, been stepped on. Let's just say its been through hell & back. & it just keeps working. Its also quite practical, not too flashy but good to look at. All in all its a good phone.

The worst piece of rubbish I've ever used. Keypad stopped working after a few months, initially keys would be permanently lit, then not work on occasion, finally packing up completely. Sent the phone back, got a replacement & lo & behold, the keypad doesn't work!
Initially I thought this phone was okay, despite the creaky feel to the back which gives the impression it's about to fall off at any moment. How wrong I was.
The K770i let me down, & will let you down too when you need it most. Learn from my mistake & buy something you can rely on.

I had this phone for Xmas 2008 & it was a great phone for the first 3 months then the phone started switching itself off, this is a apparently a thing that Sony Ericsson's do. My charger now goes red hot whenever I plug the charger in I have swapped chargers as I have always had Sony Ericsson's & they all charge but all become red hot. The phone has also reset itself & wiped everything, I have nearly had this phone for a year now & it's great for people who maybe don't use it as often but for those people who want a stylish phone without looking to in with the phone fashion then this is a good phone. Also the camera broke the little plastic things under the slider on the back snapped off one day I have no idea how anyway that was a waste as the camera was excellent.
Overall I give this phone a poor rating as it does let itself down in many ways.

I have had this phone for nearly a year. I must say it is rubbish. At First it was the perfect phone until recent months it has been playing up in a major way. The Original Battery doesn't charge anymore therefore when I plug the charger in it chargers the Alien battery. This lasts around 1 hour then is completely dead. The camera will not Let me edit pictures in PhotoDJ as it says the memory I full when it isn't. I cannot wait to get a LG for Xmas. This Will Be the Last Sony Ericsson phone I ever Come in contact with.

This phone is amazing I have dropped it about 100 times, it has fallen in puddles, it can take lots of punishment & it still goes.
Yes it sometimes goes no reception but just wait & it comes back. The camera is amazing for 3MP! Great shots.
I have had it for 2 contracts now I just don't feel the need to change. It's so small & unobtrusive too.
Only the iPhone will make me give it up which I am getting in February can't wait. I wouldn't have it on contract go for something flashier. But if you get a SIM only deal & pay for the handset your quids in.
I would recommend it & I am really fussy about phones.

Got 2 of these (1 for me & 1 for the wife) as upgrades on our contracts with T Mobile. Initially impressed with the design etc. & pleased to have a phone with radio reception. The joy didn't last long though!
Having previously used Motorola phones for a few years I couldn't believe how poor the predictive text is. So bad in fact that whilst it doesn't recognise many everyday words it quite happily changes I'll to H'll every time you type it. It's also a pain to enter words it doesn't recognise compared to the Motorola's which were a doddle.
Other poor features include the reception. The signal strength jumps around like a baby in a bouncer even sometimes when the phone isn't touched. When it does loose reception & switches to emergency only it can often only be persuaded to come back to usefulness by switching it off & on again. The last straw has been the keypad which has started getting worse to use since it was 12 months old. Some keys require a handful of presses before they finally work now.
From conversations I've had with others it seems these are all standard design features for Sony Ericsson phones. This is the first one I've had & you can be sure it'll be the last as well. Upgrade due in 5 days time, I can't wait!

This has to be the worst phone I have ever had. Apart from several keys suddenly not working once, the phone keeps switching to emergency calls only. This is particularly prevalent after it has been recharged. When I complained to my provider they responded that it is a frequent problem with this phone but would not exchange it for another model. I will be changing my provider.
Sony seems to have forgotten that whilst all the games, music player, camera etc are useful add on's, they are selling a TELEPHONE.

Hello to All, I have been using the K770i for just over a YEAR & it is time for me & the K770i to part company due to my contract ending. I cannot fault this phone, it is easy to work, very reliable, for its time very nice looking & had all the functions I wanted & used.
I would tell others to use this phone & for a simple phone with great camera at a low price this is a superb phone, & of course it's a reliable Sony Ericsson phone.
I am moving onwards & hopeful upwards to a touch screen phone, please I hope it will be as reliable as my dear K770i, or does being flash with a touch screen mobile phone cost you in reliability, I will let you know if I have to come back to my old reliable K770i.
Farewell my friend, to the back of the draw with you. I remember feeling like this about all my old phones, guessing I get very attached to my mobiles.

I've had Sony Ericsson's for around 7 years now, switching to them after having a trusty Nokia for a good few years before that.
The K770i is dull, I must say. The screen font is small for one thing. After 6 weeks the phone would not send messages. It just dumped them in the Outbox. I had to do a master reset to clear it, losing all my texts & contacts. Ten hours talk time ha ha ha! The battery drained quickly & I only send texts, do a few phone calls & maybe look at the web if I am bored. I turned off the 3G so, hopefully, so I am waiting to see if it picks up.
Having said all that, I guess it is a pretty basic phone but all of my Sony Ericsson's have only lasted about 12 to 18 months before playing up, phone locking, switching off etc.
Someone told me to look at the W995. Sorry, maybe I am out of touch but I simply cannot see how the W995 is a good looking phone. It's a brick. So, I am now looking at Nokia & Samsung but will probably give Nokia a go now that they are sorting out their battery life & software problems. Might even stab for the new Nokia 5900, E52 or 6720. For now, my Sony Ericsson will remain.

I have always had Sony Ericsson phones but I have had this phone for 2 months & already sick of it, the texting is SO BAD! It lags I have to press the buttons 10 times just to scroll along, also my C button has broke I have to press that a lot to go back, the phone itself nice design not heavy, camera is excellent though video not so good, I love the blue light effect but my keys have worn away a bit so the lights don't look as good, but it's just the texting is TERRIBLE! Really bad I found this phone a nice replacement for my W810i but I now want the G900 (: but still unsure if that's much better.

I got this phone about a year ago now, I adore this phone it's so easy to work, good features. One down side is the paint does chip REALLY fast & the camera shutter get's really stiff a lot, found a way to fix this, keep opening & shutting loads & it gets easier to open again!
Overall I love this phone & it is the best phone I've had in a very long time!

This has got to be the best phone I have ever had! I got in on contract from 3, 18 months ago & am now due an upgrade, but I am sticking with this one. (more than anything because I think it looks a lot better than many other phones out there at the moment) Not only does it look good, it has everything you could possibly need. OK, the music player, camera, video camera may be basic, but it is a phone, if you want the best of these then get an iPod & digital camera. This is a really good phone & a really good price. Usually I can't wait to get a new phone when I am due an upgrade (I get bored with them very easily) but this one is perfect for me. After 18 months the battery is still top notch, charge it during the night & it will last 3 days no problem. Plus it's purple, what more could you want!? !

Well, I got this mobile on contract with 3 a year ago, & I've had no end of problems. Firstly I decided to get this as it is stylish & I was advised by 3 that this was one of the better phones. However when I got home, the screen size began to annoy me. As it is quite small (I had a Nokia n73 before) I couldn't see photos clearly at all, & this was the main purpose of the phone for me.
I then had problems sending & receiving texts. I also don't have very good coverage, I live in the north east, so I wouldn't recommend 3 to anyone living here.
I suppose this phone is a nice little thing, but only if you're happy with things being quite simple. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who wants it for a camera, or if you've been used to a larger screen.

This is my fourth Sony Ericsson phone & I must say that it's hard to fault their ease of use. I've been able to track their progression in the UI, & not too much has changed, but they've made it slightly smoother in operation with each incarnation. I switched my Samsung G600 for this phone & it has been a great decision. It's a very simple to use & intuitive device.
It's been extremely reliable, even after it got a soaking in my pocket. There has been a slight wearing of the paint in sections, but nothing that impedes use or destroys the aesthetic appeal of the phone after a year & three months. It's been dropped several times too, but with no noticeable effects.
The camera isn't the greatest of devices, however, this was never the top of the range phone, so it shouldn't be expected to be amazing. But it will do if all you want are a few casual shots every now & again. The video function only records in VGA, so expect a lot of pixelation. But if photo/video quality is that important to you, then I suggest take a dedicated digital camera with you!
Not really used the music player or most of the other functions. I have an iPod that takes care of my music needs.
Overall it's been a great little phone, especially for £80. The only reason I intend on changing it is because my contract has expired, & I shall be getting another Sony Ericsson.

I first got this phone on contract from Vodafone in August & found it was fine to begin with.
However, after a few months the battery life decreased massively. Now it needs charging for a good two hours at least once a day, even if it's just left on standby.
Another disappointing feature is its lack of ability to send & receive text messages, sporadically being able to send them, & not receiving texts until hours after they were sent.
Overall, I would not recommend this phone due to its poor durability. Yet from other reviews it appears the majority of people seem to have no problem with their models, so maybe it's just luck of the draw.

There seems to be a serious floor with these phones. I have two. One for me & one for the wife. Both have the same trouble. Periodically texts refuse to go. The outbox becomes full & they refuse to send. This means that the software has to be re-installed. I have had to do this twice on my wife's phone in the last 6 weeks. My phone I had to re-install the software last week (11th April 2009) Apart from this they are a good phone. If you don't have the means to download & re-install the software. Then this will not be a good phone for you.

My first Sony Ericsson phone was a W580i & I absolutely loved it. I wanted to change phones as I get bored easily & nearly changed to an LG cookie. I am so glad I got this phone instead. As with my previous phone, the camera & sound quality is brilliant. I was expecting a little less quality on the music player as it's not in the Walkman range but the quality is not compromised at all. It just takes a bit of a cutback on the features of the music player. As it is in the Cyber shot range though the Camera obviously gets the additions i.e. Flash, better photo editing etc. It's very sleek & lightweight & the truffle colour is better than it sounds. I don't think I will ever own anything other than Sony Ericsson now. This phone has certainly made my mind up about that. Well done Sony Ericsson.

I am becoming a big fan of Sony lately. I've recently purchased a Sony Ericsson K770i. It is the best mobile phone I could afford & I have to say that although I just wanted a mobile phone that would make calls & not drop them, that I could hear the calls & that I could text easily, this phone also has, the 3.2 mp camera, & many other pluses that I wasn't looking for but am pleased to have.

Had this phone off Amazon on the 27th of February. All I can say is quality! Good camera, good features, easy messaging etc. The only problem I have found is that the video camera is very pixelly, lots of tiny squares (the pixels) predominantly around the edge. But apart from that I'd recommend it to anyone.

I had this phone in Pink. Great phone, sturdy, but after all its features gets a bit boring after a while. Once again, in typical E style, after just having this phone 4 months, the chrome paint work on the keys is peeling off! So now the phone looks tatty & aged once again. The camera is cool, the memory is great & the features are once again in abundance for Sony. It just a shame Sony can't get a more robust paintwork & casing for their phones to this day. I must admit I have a personal preference for slider phones.

Good camera although for some reason it takes sharper photos in fixed focus infinite mode than it does in auto focus.
The battery life is good but not as long as some Sony Ericsson handsets. Maybe two days heavy use or a week light use.
With the slide starting the camera you can lock the keypad & still take quick pictures, but this phone lacks the best pic feature of the K800i.
The only bad things about it are its losing signal very easily. It doesn't tend to drop active calls but you may find you have missed people calling due to the phone not having a connection when they try to call you. Don't put it in a bag or thick coat pocket.
The other thing is if you take several photos in a row the camera sometimes crashes back to the stand by screen, not saving the last photo. This can be annoying.
Overall, very good for the money.

I've had this phone for a few months & wish I'd kept my old K800i. My phone gets red hot after 10 minute conversations to the extent I have to hang up. The battery life is rubbish compared to other Sony's I've had & the camera is nowhere like as good as my last one. It's very difficult to hear other people talk even with the volume right up & my camera broke as well. I am surprised that there are a few good reviews as the talk time of this phone is rubbish compared to others. The phones currently getting another fault fixed & I am preying I can get a different one due to it being pretty rubbish. I think you get good Sony's & bad ones but it's a fact that the talk time is very bad on this phone.

This K770i is the best overall performance mobile I have ever had the pleasure of using. It is a 10 out of 10 rated phone due to the following story, which I will cut short to save you falling asleep.
It was the day of our house move when my husband got over excited & went to answer an important call but instead threw my lovely K770i into a sink of hot washing up water. I heard a loud shout then found him giggling to himself & with the removal guys. Here we go, I will cut it short here, but we did dry the K770i in the new houses airing cupboard & it is now working perfectly.
Best for everything, still giggling about the dive my poor phone took on moving day.
All the best, Jessi.

This is a well built phone but with one really frustrating design flaw. The lens cover opens so easily that I often open it just while handling the phone. Opening the lens cover overrides the key lock. I've owned the phone less than 24 hours & have already taken way too many photos of the inside of my pocket.
While it is a high quality phone & certainly as good as you could hope for such a low price, this is not the phone for me & I will be exchanging it.

The K770i is a phone I always come back to. I had a C905, wasn't impressed got rid of it & went back to K770i, then I got an LG Viewty & got flustered with the touch screen & poor battery life, got rid of that & am back with the K770i. This really is a superb phone. I have never had any trouble with them, they are simple to use, & have a contemporary yet classic design. Superb 3.2 megapixel camera, which takes better pictures than some 5 Megapixel phones may I add! The only reason I gave it 95% for features is that you cannot zoom in 3MP mode, only in VGA mode, which is a very slight letdown & should not let you detract from this stunning phone. This phone may not have all the top end features of other phones, but I found that I never used half of the features on them top end phones anyway & the K770i is more than adequate for my needs.

I've had this phone for a year now & am looking to upgrade as my contract is coming to an end. & am really stuck on what phone to get because after all the good my phone did I don't want to swap & find out it's not worth it. This Phone Is fantastic, the Camera is brilliant, the MSN is Brilliant, the music is really good & so easy to put on. Only Thing is that sometimes if I press a button to unlock it, it sometimes doesn't come up so I have to turn it off then back on but it was worse before but it doesn't happen anymore probably once in the last 3 months. I just got this phone about a month ago & it was absolutely brilliant! Still is but there are just a few problems. Like when I dropped it once & it told me that I couldn't play any music that I had downloaded. & if you drop it more than twice the software goes really really slowly (like Mine).
Sometimes, well most of the time. When you ask it to do track ID, it just says no matches were found try again & I have tried about 50 times & it don't work. Another thing, good thing is the camera quality could be as good as five mps as it is cyber shot.
Most disappointing thing so far is that you can't zoom in normal camera mode which is extremely annoying!
The video quality turns to VGA which is rubbish. & when you ask it to do things quite quickly it freezes & you have to wait for 2 minutes.
Otherwise this phone is absolutely immense & you should definitely buy it from Vodafone for 80 pound! It is reasonably user friendly, the buttons take time to get used to, the features are very good, & I must say that it looks amazing from the back but not as good from the front.
You should definitely buy this phone IT ROCKS!

I have had great problems with this phone. Got it through Three mobile, had it for a couple of months then the phone began to switch off then back on intermittently. Got it sent away for repair, but this did not fix the problem. After a lot of problems on the phone to Three customer service I got an exchange for another k770i. After 1 month the exact same problem happened again! In my opinion Three mobile were very unhelpful on the phone, they just told me to send it back for repair again! I've had to relegate it to a drawer however as the number 9 key is very over sensitive, but most annoyingly the shortcut to web n walk button on the top left connects me to the Internet every time I use any of the buttons on the left of the pone! I always swore by Motorola but I must say that I love this K770i. I just love the smooth feel & light weight of this phone. Its user friendly & the menus are easy to follow.
The camera, I feel, is wonderful. Once I put the pictures onto my PC, I hardly need to do any touch ups to my photos at all.
I have never had a problem with connection to Internet or network. In fact I find it very good.
The only problem I am having with my phone is that the number 9 key is highly over sensitive! I have sent it back to 3 (now for the second time) to have this problem rectified. Let's hope they get it sorted. Has anyone else had this problem?
All the other keys are working fine & I must say, I have not noticed any peeling of the silver off the keys.

I recently bought this phone to replace my Sony Ericsson K750i & have been delighted so far. It feels a lot lighter & slimmer & the camera is more user friendly. It is possible to do things like switch to & from night mode & change the type of picture your taking just by pressing one of the number keys rather than having to scroll through on screen menus.
The phone is very easy to use & the only real criticism I'd have is that it's easy to accidentally switch on the Internet option if you put the phone in your pocket & haven't locked the keypad.
Screen size & quality is great, very easy to send & receive texts, manage list of contacts. The phone only comes with a 256MB M2 memory card, but you can get a 2GB one on eBay for under £10.
Sound quality is great on the MP3 player. This phone doesn't come with many games but it is possible to download others. The two I had when I bought my phone were solitaire & a game called FotoQuestFishing in which the aim is to help a deep sea diver take pictures of lots of exotic fish. Perhaps a bit unexciting although personally I prefer it to games which involve shooting space monsters who have done nothing wrong to anyone. Oh, & battery life is pretty decent, generally get about 5 to 6 days.

- Quiet simple.
- Nice colour mines the truffle one.
- Nice design quiet soft & slim.
BUT here comes the disadvantages.
- the paint on the buttons is being scratched off! Boy did that make me angry I phoned the 3 phone shop. The guy on the phone sounded like he'd been awake all night & he told me it's my fault n that I need to more care of it. It isn't a baby!

I was surprised to see such average scores for this phone. I am an owner of the K770i & it is an awesome phone. Here is why I find it hard to fault my mobile friend.
- Firstly the size is perfect for throwing in my handbag or pocket, it is not too heavy & has a keypad lock for carry.
- Secondly the look, it is a wicked looking phone, clear screen, good size & shaped key pad & the coating or paint is not easily chips or scratched, I have owned mine for 8 months & not one scratch on it & that is with it rattling about with my house keys in my handbag.
- Fourthly camera, very good camera, all you need from a mobile phone if you ask me & when I transfer the snaps to my computer wow they are amazing. I must say this camera feature cannot be faulted by the average mobile phone user.
- Fifthly menus, yes the menus & phones interface is a typical Sony Ericsson style which in my opinion really takes some beating, clear & precise layout with icon displays & easy to find all the phones settings & feature. Brilliant Sony do it again, if it aint broken don't try to fix a wise fella once told me & it is very true, the menu layout works so never change it Sony.
- Sixthly, battery, I am an everyday users but not a heavy user & my battery is excellent, I tend to charge it most evenings but not for long & it will be fully charged ready for the next day. I have actually gone three days without charging it & with minimal use during this time.
I could go on for ages bit guess I have covered the main points you all need to know about.
One last point OI would like to add it that I will always stick with Sony Ericsson phones although I know they have had a few problem phones like all phone makers & I will always use either 3 or Vodafone when picking a network as they have proven to be the best for me, so I will stick with what I know best.
I really hope this helps anyone who is undecided whether to go for this phone, do it, it is a wicked phone & I really hope you like it as much as I do.

I bought my phone a few days ago on a £9.99 a month contract with 300 minutes or texts on 3 network, first of all the video quality for any phone is absolutely rubbish, when I film on the screen the image is in little squares making it all blurry, I also don't like the fact that the camera doesn't have a zoom but the auto focus is a good feature & my battery is playing up, when I charge it it will say charging 92% then 2 minutes later it will say 87% or something similar, & if I play 1 3 to 4 minute music tract the battery will go down by around 4%, that is unbelievable since Sony Ericsson are the creators of Walkman, now I am trying to get this handset swapped for a Nokia 6500 slide because this phone is not living up to the expectations of a good average phone.

Nice & slim for a 3G phone. The camera is good for a 3.2 mp, don't bother with the video, it's awful even on high quality mode, it's extremely pixelated. My W810i was far better even with only 2MP.
Reception is very poor as it doesn't seem to get signal where my previous phones did on T mobile. Always comes up Emergency Calls Only. Only way to force it to search for a network is to switch off & on again.
Regularly comes up with inactive SIM with no warning. I could be using the phone for days without switching off, but the massage would still come up at the most inconvenient times. Again switch off, remove & reinsert SIM & switch back on.
It doesn't always recognise the memory card. One time took 7 attempts or removing & reinserting memory card to get the phone to read it.
To be honest I would probably avoid the phone given the choice again. I gave the phone to the wife, after 3 days she went back to her old W810i. The predecessor, the k750i was far far better.

Same with the SIM card. At least once a day it says inactive sim. I got the phone from 3 in February 2008 on an 18 month contract but they don't want to know about it. Don't give 3 your custom & don't get the 770i!

Within two months the paint is wearing off the keys & off the housing. With my Nokia it never wore off. In fact the salesman was impressed with how good it looked. So it shows I look after phones.
I've still got months to go on my contract before I can change my phone, I can't be bothered with taking this up with 3 as can't be without my phone while they look at it.

I have had this phone for about a year. I loved it when I first got it as I didn't know anyone else who owned it, especially in purple. The overall features of this product are OK, however compared to the latest mobile, you can definitely tell this is older.
I love the fact that it is not a slide phone, no joystick & no touch screen. Simple old school style buttons, that looks more modern.
The camera is generally rubbish, flash is too bright, the music player is a joke. You can only barely hear the songs & no volume button to increase.
Paint off of keys is starting to where off, not as much as other reviews say but still more than expected.
I would recommend this phone to someone who is not too bothered about taking pictures or listening to music as this year it seems suitable only for basic functions & the fact that it still looks quite up to date.

I bought the purple version of this phone last October over the black one because it looked good. Unfortunately in the last few weeks a serious amount of chrome has started coming off the keys.
Even sliding fingernails across the keys lifts the thin layer of chrome & with it the numbers & letters. Underneath it is plain grey plastic which looks awful.

I have had this phone for two months & it looks about two years old already. I have done nothing with this phone what I haven't done with all my others, but the paint on the keys has rubbed off already, the outside number keys on the left & right side. It's lightweight, easy to use, takes absolutely great pictures, it has a very useable music player with good sound quality, jam packed with all sorts of features, such as 3.2MP camera, music player, radio, games, photo DJ, music DJ, Video DJ, FaceWarp, calculator, stopwatch, video calling, Internet browsing. & the list goes on & on!
I love the truffle brown colour. Although in pictures of the phone, it looks very brown, in reality it is more of a goldish brown colour, like a dark bronze.
All my friends are jealous of this phone as it is absolutely great! One of my mates even went & brought it for herself because she liked it so much & neither of us have had any problems with it.
Don't listen to the bad reviews, most people are actually complaining about their networks, not the actual phone. & besides, people are more likely to write a review if they have had something go wrong with the phone that if they have had no problems, so that is why there seems to be a lot of bad reviews!
None of my phones buttons have cracked, the paint hasn't worn off & the camera does not take ages to take it picture, it only takes less that a second!
But seriously this phone is absolutely brilliant. Got mine of virgin pay as you go for just £129.99, which is so cheap for the amount of features that the phone has & the overall quality of the phone.

Design, features & usability are fine when it is working. That however is the problem. I have had two so far & both have failed for an unknown reason & Vodafone insist it is because of physical damage, yet I have never dropped it or abused it in any way. They initially asked if I use it near a microwave or an oven. NO. Have I used it near any ultrasonic devices or areas of radiation. NO. They then said it is because I must have put it in my pocket roughly, rubbish. They say it is internal physical damage yet there is not a mark or scratch on the outside. How the hell can I cause damage on the inside when there is none on the outside. They refuse to send me the technicians report but insist he has examined it. So what does he say, it's not part of the official secrets act. Whatever you do, do not buy this phone & definitely do not use Vodafone as your service provider.

I've only had this phone a couple of days. It was a replacement for my Nokia 6500 Slide which is a gorgeous looking phone but useless for making or receiving calls due to its dodgy reception. I've had Sony Ericsson's before & prefer their menu system to Nokia's. First impressions are it's not a bad looking phone but I think girls will prefer it more than guys. Quality of calls is very good even in weak signal areas. In the past I've had the 750i & the 800i which have both been great for taking pictures & videos. Being from the same family I assumed the K770i would be similar but have been really disappointed by the camera. Video quality is worse than the first camera phone I ever had years ago! Surely when a manufacturer brings out a new model, it's meant to be an improvement on the model it's replacing. A major selling point of the K phones has been the camera (in the same way for the Walkman phones it's the music player) so why is the camera on this so bad?
I am getting really frustrated by the quality of phones that are coming out these days. They seem to be more style of substance. Why can't I find a phone that looks good, has a large screen, a decent camera & music player with excellent phone call quality & a battery that lasts at least a week between charges, not to mention one that's not built from cheap plastic.
When I get a phone, I want to be able to keep it for a while, not upgrade every 6 months or so. If they want us to think of mobile phones as disposable items then they have to bring the cost right down! At the moment I feel like we're being ripped off.

Had a W850i for the music side of things, got 770i to get a better picture quality, as the 850 is only 2 megapixels, what a letdown! You have to be very still to get a sharp picture, the slightest movement & that's it, blurry. The video quality is even more of a letdown as it is so pixelated that I would say it wasn't fit for purpose & should never have been advertised as capable of this function. Had two phones in 2 weeks due to pictures not storing to the memory card, different phone & card, guess what, still occasionally, won't store to card. Whilst I am on the war path, why put a flash on a camera when you have to stand so far away from your subject to get a reasonable level of exposure (very white within about 18 inches) good as a torch in a recent power cut though. So, to summarise, this will send text messages, pictures (if you can get it to store to card) & is a great torch! Like the look of the thing though, & is easy to use. Got an 18 month contract, more like a sentence!

This is my third Sony Ericsson phone, plus my wife has had one. This is by far the worst of the three.
The Camera is 3.2MP but is useless at that resolution. I don't think I have shaky hands but I can only get pictures in focus regularly if I set it to 2MP. I also have problems with battery life (72 hours if I don't use it), it loses network & won't search for it again unless I switch it off & back on. The coating on the keys is wearing off after only 4 months & I can no longer send picture messages.
I usually swear by Sony's but all of this coupled with their tendency to break (white screen & won't start) after 14 to 18 months (don't get 18 month contract) is putting me off of getting another.

Everything else good except the battery which runs down in 24 hours. But I am going to call Vodafone & see if anything can be done as a lot of these reviews don't seem to think battery life is a problem. I have had the Sony Ericsson K770i for two days now as a free of charge upgrade to my horrible Sony Ericsson W850i (that's another story). I think this is a great phone for the price, free on most contracts & I cannot fault it, I literally unboxed it inserted the SIM & away I was, all my contacts transferred perfectly & the phone was already charged so I could have a quick flick though the menus, which are very clear & the navigation pad is great. I then charged it overnight as everyone always moans if you don't treat your battery right, respect to the Sony Ericsson battery :).
The next day I had downloaded true tones, full songs & used Bluetooth to transfer pictures to my lover. I really like the colour of the phone, I think its called truffle brown, yum yum it is a really nice colour very stylish for a lady like me.
As I said I have come from the Sony Ericsson W850i which I never really liked but it was recommended to me, a good phone but a bit masculine for my liking. I prefer the style & slim design of the K770i & to be honest I never really used the Walkman feature on the W850i as I didn't like the phone enough, I have listened to more music on my new K770i in two days than I ever did on my W850i in 12 Months, ha ha ha.
This phone comes 100 percent recommend to all, especially girls who need a phone for everyday use but not too many business features like a Smartphone, I love it, really nice & reminds me of my old old old K750i which I really liked.
Hope this helps any of you undecided mobile phone users. I think you will be surprised, I am.

Excellent reviews & comments on this phone & I can honestly advice Ginny & Jessica M from the UK to go & buy this phone, it is a excellent phone & available free from Dial a phone with free gifts.
I have always used Sony Ericsson phones so using this is a breeze for me & I can't find anything to moan about, believe me I like to have a moan (I am a woman ha ha ha) if there is the slightest chance but this phone is too good to moan about.
I am amazed at the clarity of the camera & the sound is very good even when compared to Walkman range Sony Ericsson phones, go on give it a go there is nothing to dislike about this phone. I will be happy on my 18 month contract :), bye for now from Happy Suzie.

Easy to use but the battery life is terrible. It's supposed to last up to 16 DAYS on standby. Mine last max 24 HOURS on standby provided no one called me or I make no calls. OR TEXTS. It lasts no more than 30 minutes if a make a call I am so disappointed with this piece of rubbish that I have reverted back to my trusty old Nokia n73 with its still good battery life about a week on standby mode (not bad given it is over a year & a half old). Avoid this phone & get a Nokia at least the batteries last long in Nokias. First & last time ill buy a Sony Ericsson.

I wrote a review just after I ordered this phone. I have now had it for 7 months & I love this phone! It's just amazing! Best phone I have ever had. Camera is decent. Takes good picture. I have put a 1GB memory card in it so I can now store loads of music & picture on it. I love being on 3 network. FREE MSN!
I definitely recommend this phone as I have had no problems with this phone.

Have owned 4 Sony Ericsson's before this one, & I can safely say, the best by a million miles. The camera takes a while to take decent photos & needs time to adjust to the steadiness of your hand, but that's not a problem. The 3G is brilliant, works very well. I have this phone on a 3 Contract for £18 a month, which then makes the phone even better, with 30 Video calling minutes free, & MSN for free, anytime of the day. The battery life is great unless you use the MP3 player, which by the way is beautifully designed, the sound quality is brilliant, as are the headphones included. The keypad is great & very easy to use, & what is very good is that there is no joy pad, so never irritates your fingertips! The navigation is one of the simplest I have ever known. The keys are beautifully laid out, in rows with ample room between them, for even the fattest fingers! The screen to be honest could be a bit bigger, but displays a real good quality image. There is a memory card included, 256MB, which may be enough, but its cheap enough to buy a GB, (M2 memory card by the way).
The bodywork has got to be its party piece, the phone is truly gorgeous. The phone is so smooth & rounded, there is literally no rough edges at all. The camera lens is very well integrated, which too, is very smooth! As for the colour, the Truffle Brown is very close to chocolate, but not quite! On the 3 network you also have the choice of another colour, Purple. That colour really stands out, enough said!
That's about it for this phone, which as you can tell, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE.

First of all I must say I love this website & I am using it almost every month to make sure I am up with the latest phones.
Secondly I am a Sony Ericsson fan hence my latest purchase. The Sony Ericsson K770i, which is a delicious looking phone for me, really nice looking & easy to use keys. The specification is a bit basic for some techie type users but for me the features are wicked.
Thirdly the K770i is one of many Sony Ericsson phones I own, I always run two phones at the same time, a kind of popular girl, that's me. I have the Sony Ericsson W880i which good for music but the keys are not as nice as the keys on the K770i.
Lastly I would recommend the K770i to all & thank goodness for the superb website, lots of love Poppy.

I've got this phone in truffle which is really classy & individual looking.
The keys are small & smart but easy to press. Texting is a pleasure compared to my last phone (a Samsung).
The screen is good, very clear & a reasonable size.
Fairly good camera for a mobile but I often forget to slide the lens cover back over & unlike my old phone its harder to take pictures of myself.
Personally I don't find that I switch the camera on when texting so that's not a problem for me.
In fact I have no problems with this phone & it's my favourite so far, simply because its stylish, easy to use & nice to hold. LOVE IT!

I have only had this phone for half a day & I am impressed by it.
The other leading cybershot phones, e.g. K800i, k810i, k850i are bulky or have huge lump on the back.
I like the truffle brown colour.
The input & navigation keys are easy use.
The only downside is that if you get the phone on 3 mobile contract (like yours truly) you do not get the PLAY NOW option but instead you get planet 3.

Only negative thing is that you have to open the facia to get the memory card out! It is a stable fast Sony Ericsson OS phone with no bugs. Have had this phone less than 24 hours & I am already being driven mad by the camera kicking in while I am trying to text. It's because the button on the right hand edge of the phone has been moved further down, to right where I (& probably the majority of other people) hold it. Really irritating when the rest of the phone seems pretty good (based on the time I've had it, obviously). Think it may have to go back.

No other manufacturer can compete, for me, with Nokia, for their simple & efficient menu systems. This particular model is smaller & lighter than my previous Nokia 6280, but does not offer the same level of customisation. The colour is a nice chocolate brown, not a yukky brown, the case rather plasticy.
As per Sony Ericsson website the phone does not offer the faster 3G of HSDPA but normal 3G & as someone was asking, xenon is a brighter light that I know of for cars, therefore I assume it is a brighter flash for the phone compared to the led flash light.

anyone thinking of buying this mobile please, please, please don't be put off by the negative reviews. Either they are looking for a super duper video recorder, get real this is obviously a mobile that Sony wanted to offer their customers as a good all rounder.
Having had Nokia's for years this is now my second Sony & I won't be going back to any other phone the build quality, battery life & slim design & weight makes for great phones.
As for the flash that a few have mentioned I had a look at this (& I can assure you I am as technical as a rung out turnip)! & it seems simple to me I just set it to switch to light mode so you get a really intense light when taking photos & I took a pictures in my under stairs cupboard & it came out brilliantly. The video is ample for the size of the phone & the focus works fine just wait a split second it auto focuses & job done.
You have got a lot of fun things to this phone I.E. 4 different tones for the camera shutter. Some people expect a lot from a slim cool phone.
The design is gorgeous & stunning with the purple colour, & silver buttons. Yum so go & buy, get & ENJOY, enjoy, enjoy.

Just got this phone on Saturday, it is now Monday, so far so good, this seems to be a great little phone. I use a phone for what a phone should be used for & that is calling & e & it does both of these with great ease.
Camera is OK, but you have to remember this is a phone not a camera!
Buttons are just the right size & menu system is so easy to get used to, I've always been a Nokia man but could not find a Nokia that I liked apart from the 6300, but I have that for my business phone.
So no faults so far, gave it an overnight charge Saturday into Sunday, sorted out all contacts, played about with all settings etc & it still has 65% battery life left, so no complaints about battery life.
The only thing I don't really like is the choice of colours, a bronze or purple, what has happened to good old black. I opted for the bronze.

I have been encouraged by my operator (T Mobile) to extend my contract to 18 months upgrading from an MDA to K770i. I need to use my phone as a modem for my Laptop & would prefer not to have a blackberry. T Mobile has ensured me that the K770i has these capabilities, however on review of the specs & some of the listing on this website there is nothing to indicate this. If the K770i has this function (Connectivity 3G HSDPA) can somebody post a review as the handset is likely to be despatched within the next few days.
Other than that I have seen the phone first hand in a shop. The design of the phone looks smart, there are ample features & as for usability I can't comment.

OK I know this is not a Walkman phone, but I find the media player extremely frustrating. Firstly, it is not possible to browse by album, which is fairly annoying. Secondly, & this is REALLY annoying, it is not possible to browse through the other songs in the playlist, artist chosen without going right back to the beginning & making your way through all the menus again. I have had 2 of their Walkman phones in the past (w800 & w880), & they have both had these possibilities. I find it bizarre that Sony Ericsson have packaged a media player which is functionally inferior to their very first Walkman phone incarnation, was it specified by a totally different team of people who didn't talk to each other?
This is a real shame, as other than this, the phone is pretty much perfect for what I want. The camera is very good, it's fairly slim & it manages to be both unobtrusive & good looking at the same time. To top it off, the battery even has a decent life. Just sort out the media player firmware PLEASE!

The memory seems smaller than the W800i as well. I had much more songs on my previous phone. T Mobile have given me the worst customer service I have ever had as well, go with anyone except them!

This phone is beautiful. Very sleek, okay screen size & buttons reasonably sized but not great for people with big fingers.
HOWEVER, the camera is disappointing. It doesn't seem 3.2MP & the k800i camera is easily a lot better. Maybe because of the LED flash rather than a XENON flash.
I haven't experienced many glitches yet, but have read other reviews where people say it turns itself off a lot & things like that.
So if you want a decent Sony Ericsson for simple calls, texts, a few songs & a brilliant camera, get the k800i!
If you want a sleek, sleek phone to store lots of songs on & occasionally take a slightly grainy photo, get this k770i, but I would say overall, the k800i is better, although they are both great phones.

Terrible for fast texters, keys stick & jump & you end up texting a load of gibberish & having to go back & delete.
Also it's just started to keep turning itself off.
Have to keep taking battery out to start it up again.
Real shame because the features, look, weight of phone are very cool. Put into practice & its functionality is RUBBISH.
WORD OF ADVICE WHEN TAKING PHONE BACK.
Don't exchange your phone, get a full refund & start again. With 3 network even if you've exchanged faulty phones, after 28 days of buying the first faulty phone you can't exchange another faulty phone if it's outside the 28 days.
So get a brand new transaction with each phone, don't exchange, refund & buy brand new.

One thing that does disappoint me a little is my operator 3 in Ireland they completely mis sold me the phone as they stated it supported skype & MSN, none of which function properly on the phone but that's due to application development & not Sony Ericsson.

I eventually got round to looking at the phone & keying in all of my numbers into contacts, I decided very quickly that I liked it & liked it a lot. It's been a couple of weeks now & I am completely smitten, I can safely say that it is the best phone I have ever had. I am a camera person, rather than music, & looks don't matter much. I liked the brown colour & that along with the 3.2 camera sold it to me. But the camera is rubbish, blurry & not that much better at all than my old 2.0, so basically, I wish I hadn't bothered.
Oh & I keep on dropping it! I swear, it's so slippery due to the brushed metal effect. Now I am mooching around looking for the right Sony phone for me, as I am trying to no go back to Nokia. Any suggestions anyone? Which one I should change it for? Was thinking w850, until I read the reviews, it doesn't even have a flash? & the keys snap. Oh my word, decisions, decisions, maybe I will have a Nokia.

The reason I changed my K800i for this was for the camera & because it is slimmer than the K800i. However, the camera on the K770i phone is just ridiculous! Very slow shutter speed, blurry pictures even with auto focus, & no zoom in camera mode. I am going back for my K800i, might be chunky but it's a good reliable phone. Anyone with a K800i thinking of swapping to this DON'T BOTHER! Shame, as it is a gorgeous looking phone but then again. Looks are not everything.

I think this phone is absolutely rubbish! I have always been with Nokia & will definitely be going back to them! I bought this phone for a change & specifically for the 3.2 megapixel camera & the purple colour! The quality of the pictures are terrible! The video is so bad! It's like old bad quality. Not what you would expect for a top of the range phone! Not a bit impressed.
This is also my third of this phone in a month as the other 2 had faults in them, & this one is going back too because it has just started switching itself off. I would not recommend this phone or the 3 network to anybody.

I got this phone a few weeks ago & overall feeling pleased about it. The phone is sleek & fits nicely into your hands. The size of the buttons are just nice, it is hassle free to text a message & camera quality is awesome!
The video quality, though sad to say is lousier than Nokia phones but I think it applies to all Sony Ericsson phones so we have to make do with it. Totally adore the functions encompassed in the phone, radio, applications & whatnot.
It is worth getting this phone.

I got this phone on contract on 3. After being shown the phone in the shop, I loved the design & the woman in the shop really sold it to us, telling us we could use MSN messenger on it, & about the 3.2 megapixel camera.
When I got the phone home, I was rather disappointed. The camera doesn't zoom & the pictures always come out really blurry & fuzzy. I've also had problems with only receiving half of text messages, & having to wait a few hours of even days to receive the rest of the message. The camera button is also easy to knock while text messaging which can get really annoying.
Also, MSN does not work on this phone, & even though people have been saying to wait a while until it become available, I just don't think it's worth it, as this phone is really quite annoying to use. I am sorry, but I was really disappointed with this phone. It looks great & everyone who's seen me using it has said wow nice phone, the usability of this phone just isn't great.
Why can't they still be producing with W800i anymore?

This Phone is gorgeous. The bevelled edges at the back & sleek pull back lens cover with blue slit light make it quite an eye catcher, at a time when it seems that manufacturers are coming up with increasingly odd looking phones for the sake of something unique, Sony Ericsson have designed a beauty (though this is not clear at all when looking at it in 2D or in a shop where the main focus is on the facia). However, good looks aside, this phone has two massive draw backs.
First, despite being a cyber shot 3.2 mega pixel phone (like the K800i) it is nowhere near as good, the colour is all over the place & the auto focus provides pictures that can be so shaky they are indecipherable.
Second, when texting it is very easy to hit the picture button & kick start the phone into camera mode while typing. This is massively irritating & happens because they have redesigned the small recessed button on the K800i. Now, it could be that I can disable the picture taking button when the lens is closed, but I didn't have to on my old phone & I don't see why they have changed this on the new.
Gorgeous, but not user friendly & really disappointing if you want to take pictures & you are used to the quality of the K800i.

Very nice to look at & hold. The truffle brown colour makes it look different. Lovely, sleek looking phone. Very user friendly. However, video capture is terrible, very disappointed with that. Overall happy with this phone.

Having previously had a K800i I am very quick to compare the K770i. I got the K770i as my K800i was stolen & I was advised by 3 that this is very similar but better. For me the phone has no major problems & is a great phone (obviously this depends what your previous phone was). I am more into camera phones than Walkman phones & my main gripe with this is the camera & video. Compared to the K800i (this is also cyber shot & features are meant to be similar) the camera quality is poor. I have set my settings to Fine etc. But it is still not as good. I agree with previous reviews that the camera is dark inside but good outside & the video is grainy. It records video in QCIF (176 x 144 pixels) resolution that apparently is ancient but so does the K800i so I can't understand why there is so much difference. Sony's website says that it does have the Best Pic feature but it is called Burst on the K770i & I don't think it's the same. (K800i Best Pic feature is better). It does have the Picture Fix feature but I don't think this is fantastic either as it just seems to brighten it up a bit. It has an LED flash as opposed to the K800i's Xenon flash & this may answer why photo quality is quite dark indoors (even with the flash). My K800i could take a photo in total darkness & the photo would come out like it was the middle of the day! I also don't like the fact that my screen saver goes off & the screen goes blank when not in use. My K800i used to be able to hold the standby screen with my clock on (with the option to use powersave if desired). It's not a major problem but very frustrating when trying to find my phone in the bottom of my bag! MSN Messenger, eBay etc are compatible with this phone (some sites it's not compatible) there is even an icon on the main menu for MSN messenger however it is not available yet! The girl in the 3 shop said it is just because it's a new phone & will be available on it in a few weeks (we'll wait & see).
Overall, I think the phone is great compared to older phones but not compared to K800i. I am sorry I didn't get the K800i again! I am on contract with 3 but as my K800i was stolen & my insurance wasn't with 3 I had to get this on pay as you go & they sent me a new pay monthly sim. Does anyone think I will be able to take this back to get a K800i or will I have to wait till upgrade available on my contract?

I just got this phone today, I went for it mainly because you get such a good contract with it. Only 18 pound a month & 300 minutes or texts + 300 free 3 to 3 minutes. I love the feel of this phone, I couldn't believe how light it was. Very impressed & great games on it for me.

Phone works well despite slightly limited camera. However, battery life is very poor. Standby time is quoted as 400 hours. If you don't make any calls you might just better 100! Not really good enough & this is after trying two phones.

Got the phone as an upgrade from Vodafone about 2 weeks ago & initial impressions were quite good. I liked the idea of a phone with a decent camera so I wouldn't need to carry a camera on days out, however this phone doesn't get near the quality of a modest digital camera. It should be obvious though as the phone is compact & light & you can't squeeze a quart into a pint pot.
Otherwise the phone is fine & has many features other than just talking to people, which my teenage kids are impressed by. I do have one issue which I am not happy with though, the battery life. I may just have a dud phone or battery, but it runs out of juice in 3 to 4 days & I only use very occasionally.

Got this phone today, it is very beautifully designed & feels nice to hold. Picture quality is good, however why did Sony Ericsson make it so that you can't zoom in camera mode only in video mode & why didn't they add a xenon flash? This is a big disappointment & very annoying. Apart from the slimmer design there is no big difference in functions to the K800i so if you like that you'll like this. Screen resolution & colours are vibrant, the sound is good. Overall a very nice phone that gets let down by the camera (which was the reason I bought it in the first place! ). Come on Sony, sort it out!

Having, for the previous year, had a Nokia 6822 which spent more time being away for repair than it did in my pocket & having previously had a Sony Ericsson P800, I decided to get something which will hopefully be a little more reliable, hence the K770i.
I've only had it a few days, but I like it. The camera seems to be OK & the display is pretty good even on my tired old eyes. I was a little disappointed when I tried to upload my old contact list to it from my iMac using iSync though - iSync just wouldn't work with it. Fortunately, after delving into the depths of iSync & with some help from the 'net, I managed to create (bodge? ) a plugin which works with contacts at least for now.
I like the way this 'phone works straight out the box with little or no setting up, unlike previous 'phones I've had which, not being a technophile, ended up with many features unused. Time, of course, will tell about reliability, but so far I've no complaints.

This is a very impressive phone, easy to use & packed full of features. I've not explored or used all of the features yet, hence the less than perfect score. The comparatively low usability rating is dictated only by the poor battery life when used on a 3G network. I have a 'Truffle Brown' model, the blue/violet being a bit garish for my taste. That said, the 'Truffle Brown' might be better marketed as 'Dark Bronze' - a more accurate description, I think, having never seen a brown truffle & it sounds so much better! Definitely a good buy on the 3 network - 300 3 to 3 minutes, 300 voice/text minutes, 30 videophone minutes & free voicemail - all for £18 per month on an 18 month contract.

Have decided to send k770i back & exchange for n73, as it has better camera & video quality plus has more features for the camera. Also as I am with the 3 network I will be able to use the free windows messenger, skype etc & the k770i doesn't support this. K770i is OK for a basic phone but if you want yours to do more then don't get it.

I am on 3 network & can't even use the free windows live messenger, skype, yahoo messenger & eBay don't even work properly. The services aren't compatible with this phone. Big disappointment.
Having got this on contract I am deeply disappointed with the camera. It's not good taking pictures in the home only outside or in very bright artificial light & the video capture is dark & very blocky, in fact I am taking it back to the store in case it's actually a fault. My Nokia 7373 takes better pictures & video & it's only a 2MP. It also turned itself off then on again after having it for 2 days so I am not impressed as my contract is for 18 months & will this phone last that long. Does anyone else have problems with their phone.

Well I am a bit disappointed as for a 3.2MP quality isn't good on camera or video. Pictures are dark when taken in house & yet my Nokia 2MP is better taking pictures. Is there something I have to set on phone to get better pictures? I have set picture quality to fine. In video mode the viewer while on is always moving & a bit fuzzy. Any tips please.

Received this phone yesterday morning, was really impressed with the aesthetics of the phone, it's slim & reasonably sized, unlike your average chunky phone. Battery life seems to be good at the moment. The features are good, in fact I chose this phone over the W660i because this phone has flash & autofocus, with an added feature called photofix which brightens up your picture etc. The sound quality is awesome, very clear & can go very Loud! & also the phone is extremely easy to use. Oh yeah, choose purple over brown! :).

I upgraded from an old w810i, which I never had any issues with. The K770i feels well built the battery life is great & it has great features. Local registration of eBay, Google maps (GPS), great camera. Originally I tried a N95 but the battery life lasted less then 24 hrs, looked at the RIZR R8 which was clumsy & not too user friendly. K850i is very bulky. Sticking with Sony Ericsson phones are always good.

I have only rated this phone at 50% because I don't actually own it yet, but I will do & it is due to be released this month (October) & I will be one of the first in my town, to own this. I hope this phone has some good deals when I sign up for a new contract, I want a 12 month contact. I will return with a full review as soon as I have had time to play with my new phone.
