Sony Ericsson K700i Review
The main feature on the Sony Ericsson K700i is the good quality integrated camera complete with video recording. Sony Ericsson have launched the K700i focusing on the camera / video features of the phone, but Sony Ericsson have also launched the totally camera focused Sony Ericsson S700i series.
The K700i comes complete with Quickshare™ which is totally user friendly & means photos, sounds, video clips can be sent by the user simply using a couple of clicks on the keys, it really is that easy. The TFT screen is excellent quality & the flat navigation pad is smooth to control. The phone has durable plastic keys, which feel & look great.

The phone has a great choice of connectivity which allows the user to have a very fast flow of data, which include Bluetooth®, GPRS, Infra Red Port, RS232 Support, USB Support, High Speed Data, Synchronisation Apple® & Synchronisation PC.
The K700i is a very enjoyable mobile phone which has a good feel to it.

I have been a Nokia fan 4 very long. However Nokia's have let me down with their limited Max jar & heap size (you are limited by size of java files download, apart from the expensive Smart phones). Unlike with most Sony Ericsson phones which have unlimited sizes. That's one reason am planning to switch to this Sony Ericsson k700i.

I received this phone today in black as a Valentine's Day present from my Fiance. It is very stylish looking. It has everything I want from a phone, the camera takes very good pictures & it can take an 8GB memory card as I immediately put mine in as soon as I got the phone & it works well. Love everything about this phone & it's very light. Only problem I have at the moment is that if you text you often go past the letter you want as the keys feel very stiff & often makes you mis spell words by making you put in the letter before the one you want. Very irritating but otherwise a very stylish phone. I previously had a Sony Ericsson V640i before I got this phone which I had gotten unlocked. Recently I changed networks from Vodafone to O2 as most of my family & friends are on O2. Had the V640i for ten & a half months without any problems then when I used an O2 SIM in it that's when the problems started. It wouldn't save my selection when I selected O2 Internet settings but had no problems texting & calling from my O2 SIM in the phone so I changed my phone to K700i & got it in black. It gets 95% for usability for the texting problem.

I have this phone from two & a half years. Everything works great. Just had a little problem with joystick after two years, I had it fixed for Rs 200 & phone is as good as new. I am definitely buying another Sony Ericsson.

I have my phone about two & a half year & it's a really good phone. It still works but the joystick wasn't good idea. But I am going to buy a new Sony Ericsson phone for sure. They have the best phones.
FOR EVERYONE NEVER BUY A PHONE WITH JOYSTICK!

Another one with a duff joystick, the joystick decided after 13 months that up & right weren't needed. Loses signal a lot, can go from 5 blue bars to no signal in the blink of an eye, then takes ages to reacquire it.
Oh & sound quality awful, though that could be my friends.
I won't buy Sony Ericsson again, back to Nokia for me.

I had it now for over 2 years. The joystick has played up throughout but now is virtually dead so phone almost useless. I will not risk buying any phone with a joystick again (although wife's works OK).

This phone is pretty awesome but sadly the joystick is not very good but that is about the only bad point.

This phone was by far one of the best I had! Has got all the features you want & the design is really nice! The only thing that annoys me is that when you take a picture it makes that 'kaching' noise, does anyone know how to take that off? Apart from that it's excellent.

Hi, my K700i is about 3 years old. Main problem is the loudspeaker is so quiet I often can't hear & have to fiddle with finding the speakerphone which (I found by accident. I did not see any reference in manual!). Had it cleaned as it was v dirty & this helped a bit.
MAIN problem is downloading pictures & videos. Bluetooth worked first time for pix using 'remote screen' option!? But now it keeps 'loosing connection'. I've gone crazy trying to find a USB cable that works - first was a dud & second had a useless 9 pin socket. Any comments or help please.

A great phone, at the time, included all you ever needed, camera, video, music player, speaker etc. However, there are a few problems the most annoying is the joystick deterioration, meaning that you have to press harder & longer for the phone to work. As the joystick is the root of the phone, this is extremely annoying. Secondly, the photo light on the back of the phone has fogged up with dust on the inside. However this does not affect the lighting capabilities! Also, just a small thing, my phone seems to have developed a creaking sound on the back cover when held. Not really that significant though. All in all a great phone, if not a little outdated by its stronger brother, the K750i. After all, the K700i was used to base the K750i, meaning that small things have changed, for example showing the radio station on the radio setting & having two lights instead of one. However, I have had the phone for three years & it is still going strong (apart from the joystick, of course!) Just make sure you take the advantage of using the joystick when it is brand new!

This phone is brilliant. I am 14 & this is my first proper phone (my firsts being Nokia 3310 & 8210). It is so good & I think it's the best phone you could possibly get. Compared to other phones I have used belonging to friends & family etc, mine has been by far the best. It has absolutely everything you would ever need (except maybe a card slot & USB, but not many people use them! ).
Umm I've had this phone for almost 3 years now & the joystick hasn't stopped working. Anyway, I strongly recommend this mobile. You WON'T be disappointed, I guarantee it. IT IS the BEST!

I got this fone last Christmas ands its ok I will admit. My joystick is a bit funny because my mum dropped it down the stairs but I dropped it in the bath & it still works :). But the camera is a bit disappointing & it's a real shame that you can't get a memory card for it as it is the next best thing to a walkman fone!

Had this phone nearly a year & its excellent. Couple of drawbacks tho - Limited memory for messages & mp3s & it won't allow you to use mp3 files for ringtones. Oh, & another thing - it wont let you use any message alerts other than the preloaded ones!! Mad or what?
All in all, a nice looking, easy to use, reliable phone.

Everything is fine. I have dropped it on the floor many times, & it still works properly. I think the photo & video quality is not good enough, & it is not a 3G phone, needs lots of improvements anywayz.
PS: Don't buy this phone with Vodafone network as they will set some programmes in your phone, & then you will find out that you can't use your favourite mp3 songs as ringtones! Many people asked Vodafone to fix this problem, but the answer from them is "it is restricted due to law regulations"...

Amazing product from the SE stable... have been using this phone for over a year... apart from small glitches like hanging etc this phone is superb.. I had to get its joystick repaired (thank god it was still in the warranty period), that was a cpl of months ago...haven't faced a problem as yet... I always wanted to buy this fone, had my eye on it since I was in college, so the first thing I did after landing up on my first job was head straight to a SONY WORLD. And boy am I glad that I got this one... even my previous phone was a SE T100...& I am goin to stay loyal to the brand. I believe in being different, when every person now has a nokia...
WAY TO GO SONY!!!!

There are 2 problems with Sony Ericsson phones:
1. fiddly joystick that stops working after a few months (this is crucial part of navigation so is extremely frustrating)
2. too many 'Are you sure you want to...' messages. Of course I'm sure......
looking forward to trying some newer ones though.
Otherwise it gets thrown around, wet, muddy, charged once every 10 days for 1/2 an hour. Camera not used - amateur, good MP3 (limited memory)

This is really very good phone. The sound quality is really superb, when compared to any other company mobiles available in the market today. The only disadvantage for this is the memory available is less.

I have always had Sony Ericsson phones, but this has got 2 be the best so far, it has taken serious 'hammer' on the farm & still works quite well although the same problem is occurring with this phone as it did in my other SE phones ... the joystick & keypad are failing to respond !?! I am questioning whether to turn to nokia ?!?
Please bring us a phone that has a good & reliable keypad!
Well that's all really - ciao 4 now & enjoy, SJGordon

I've had my K700i for almost 2 years now & it's been a great phone. Apart from my battery packing it in (which is fairly normal for its age, & the amount I used it). Once you get used to navigating it etc, it's great to use. I'll never go to any other brand.

This phone is very good, much better than any of the other phones i've had before! The mp3 player is gr8 because if the batteries have ran out of my mp3 player I can just stick in the handsfree headphones into the phone & can just listen to music on there instead. The music comes out very clearly & I can hear it well & it also goes quite loud. The only problem I have with this phone is that it is quite slow & runs out of battery quite easily, also it is quite heavy.

This phone has very nice design. Screen is perfect, with its 176 x 220 pixels & good readability in sunshine. Some more good things: Bluetooth, radio, ~40 MB memory. As I am photographer, I don't find inferior photo & video quality usable, even for fun... Sometimes trouble with key responsiveness (after 1 month using). Battery life is disappointing. With switching off for the night I got only three days of operation. This is weak, especially when you are traveling in the wild... The headset seems to loose connectivity.

I have been very happy with my phone. Two weeks ago I lost it for 5 days. I found it in my rugby shorts pocket, good? Not good because they had been through the washing machine. Crikey? I am still in contract & my phone is bust?
I took the back off the phone & stood it on a radiator for 3 days. I then saturated the phone with WD40 & left it for 2 days wrapped in kitchen roll. Today I tried my wife's battery from an identical k700i & guess what? The phone is working! I have left it open & the residue of the WD40 will hopefully evaporate. This is a very well built & very good quality phone.

I love my phone & yet, after 18 months, the joystick is dying. Trying to move down a menu takes around 3 attempts, which gets a bit frustrating. It also seems fairly awkward to get unlocked.
Other than that, it's a superb little thing. Very small, light, & feature packed.

I am writing this to confirm that sony ericsson are the worst designed handsets eg the main part being used heavily on functions is the joystick which fails to respond after time. I have dismantled my k700i as it was out of warranty & have found that the joystick part is of an inferior quality-design, it is hard to replace & the actual part suffers from oxidisation of some sort which results in its malfunction. The actual keypad also suffers from malfunction too. I hope SE will take this on board in addition to its inferior RF capacity which also hasn't improved since day one of the manufacture-design of their mobile equipment.

This phone is addictive, I cant put the thing down since I got it. I am scared to see my next phone bill, bet the bill is higher now I have this little beauty. Really great sharp screen with the K700i, & the features, well where shall I start, MP3 good, camera very good & nice to have a radio with this phone.

Love Sony K700i to bits, I had a Nokia 8310 before this & wont go back to Nokia again. This phone really is, better not swear, fantastic. I could rave on about the MP3 player being totally fab, the camera being as clear as a bell, videoing being of excellent quality, games good but not really a games type of girl really, memory is enough for me but some may moan, the K700i has a great finish to it in a brushed metal effect & truly feels great to use & hold, oh dear I did rave on a little bit.

I picked this phone mainly for its great look & comfort in my hand, I do not buy for features but do like a quality phone. I must admit I tend to use my mobile for calls & the very occasional text if I must, but since I got my K700i I have totally changed. I am so pleasantly surprised with this phone, & can not believe how easy it is to use all the extra features that are included. I use the camera for photos of my gorgeous niece & find it so easy to send to my friends. All the selection menus are great to follow & so simple. I get a really good reception with this phone compared to the reception I had with my old Samsung phone.

This is my first Sony Ericsson mobile phone & I did have a slight problem with the navigation & it took me a while to adjust. I also managed to break the joystick & had to get a replacement phone. I am not that good with mobiles but that is a whole new & very long story. I do really like the Sony Ericsson K700i & think the features are great quality. A real quality phone as soon as you master the navigation. My battery has a very short life but it is most probably faulty knowing my luck, so I will pop it back to the phone shop. All the staff know me on first name terms & there is at least six of them, so unlucky with mobiles.

Keys on the K700i are too fiddly, really could do with a bit more room. The keys are far too small & would be much more user friendly if slightly bigger. Had some issues with the Bluetooth software. Great looking & lots of strong features all included. Larger keys please Sony.
