Great looking phone, simple to use. BUT. Unreliable as it randomly freezes. If it freezes, it consumes the battery, so by the time I notice that the phone has frozen & get it up & running again (take the battery out & put back in), there's not enough battery life left to last me the day (or even a phone call).
Supposed to have an alright battery life, but since it keeps freezing, I am needing to charge it every night. Hence, not recommended.

I bought this phone around a year ago. The first 2 or 3 months were great, I thought it was the greatest phone ever, but then it became annoying. It continuously froze whenever I would try to send or read a text. I received a text once which stays in my inbox as an unread message, I don't know why, but also every time I try to read it, my phone decides to freeze so I have to take the battery out & put it back in again which becomes frustrating. Also the message is blank, it doesn't let me read it.
Texting is also very difficult because the keys are extremely small, so very small fingers are needed if you want to use this phone for texting.
Apart from all that I would say this phone is alright. The sound & pictures are very clear which is an advantage, & using the Internet is quite simple, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I just recently broke this phone by jumping on it at a football match, I have dropped punched & battered this phone over the years, its quality & pretty much bulletproof, cracking phone.

I've had this phone for 18 months now & I am just about to get a new contract, & for the whole time I've had this phone I've really loved it, it's so easy to use & has all the features wanted, the only reason I got fed up with it is because it's not a particularly exciting phone. My phone also keeps freezing & switching off which I've heard a lot of Sony Ericsson's have the same problem.
But all in all it is a very nice phone :).

This phone is good. It has never broken & I feel it is stable phone. I started to get slightly bored with this phone as I really wanted a touch screen. But I would recommend it to anyone who does not like touch or slide phones. The only problem is that I don't like 3 & they are the only people who make this phone.

This phone looks great. I love the black & pink combination. & there isn't too much pink which is great.
The features look good too. I am impressed with the landscape Internet.
I do not have this phone, but was wondering is it still available in Australia? None of the 3 shops I've been to seem to have it, & neither do any other mobile phone retailers.

I am on a 3 contract for 18 months. I am on my second handset as my first one kept freezing every time you want to send a text! It got very annoying. I got a new k660i & after about 2 weeks, this phone does the same thing! It can get very annoying but I've learnt to live with it! It seems a lot of people have had the same problem, so it's a technical error in the phone.
It is a very nice, easy to use phone & I would recommend it but beware it might freeze a lot & you then have to take out the battery & try again!

To Mary from Hastings UK, you won't be disappointed with the K660i, it's so easy to use & is a really reliable phone but you should have order it from this sites best buys & delivery would have be much quicker for you. Had mine for three plus months & still love the colour, design & usability is wonderful as I have always had Sony Ericsson phones.
Happy mobiling to you all.

Today I went to the 3 store to buy this phone on contract, as I had been using the Motorola V3i on Pay as you go, & I hated it. It had a rubbish camera & kept breaking down. I kept running out of credit as well, as I am an avid texter. They were out of stock, so it's being delivered on Saturday (today is Thursday), but for £10 a month you get unlimited texts, 75 minutes & free Skype & MSN. I can't wait until Saturday, & the Black & Silver version which I am getting looks gorgeous! =).

I think this is a very unique phone which has an amazing design to it. The 2 mp camera is very good in full lighting conditions but not as useful if you are taking photos inside. The phone & card memory is very good, & there is an option to add more to it with a memory card slot. It also has a great message storage capacity with is good for texters. Although the phone sometimes crashes without notice, which means you have to take the battery out to regain use again.
I would recommend this phone to anyone, it's simple to use & very understand all the different features & applications.

Hey, I used to beg & beg my dad for the phone I thought that it looked AMAZING hence the design 100% & also I thought the tilting screen & themes were very good. I thought it was easy to text & was simple to understand the only problem is that it doesn't have zoom & that is very annoying.

I think that this phone is really good in looks, & is good in usage. Sometimes it does switch off suddenly that's the only problem I find & the camera clarity is really too good when you transport it to your laptop, the pictures have a great clarity just like a digital camera, the only thing it doesn't zoom in the normal mode. That it, I would say it's worth having this phone.

I got this phone as it had a very good design, & 3 had bragged about it being the biggest selling phone. After only having it a short period of time I found that it kept freezing. Since then it has the same technical fault each time. I am now on my second handset waiting for the time when this phone decides to break.
I wouldn't wish this phone upon anyone. Don't even consider buying it, you will be highly disappointed after a few months.

Yeah it's a nice phone. Nice design, nice camera. But there are several disadvantages of this phone like it freezes a lot, sometimes other features stop working like the voice or the speakers. I just got this phone in 2009 & now I have repaired it 3 times. Don't buy this phone ever.

Didnt buy this phone. I won it in a contest. The contest organizers chose a GREAT phone for a prize! Absolutely great phone. Easy to use, packed with features, highly versatile & good value for money.
However, its just the same problem some owners may have. Shuts down suddenly. Volume suddenly drops when increased. I am now on my second unit. Probably something to do with quality control. If this can be solved, Sony Ericsson will win a great share of the market with its price & versatility.
On the whole, great phone & I am a proud owner of this model!

I can only assume that the 100% reviews of this phone were given when the phone was still relatively new. I had this phone for nearly a year (or rather I am on my second K660i after the first one stopped working & had to be replaced) & it's just awful. It looks good, but that's as far as it goes. It switches off constantly, freezes, & falls to Emergency calls only, on a daily basis. To get the phone to work again the battery has to be removed & the phone restarted. Calls drop out, the signal is terrible (even though my husband is on the same network & his phone works fine), & the battery needs charging most days. I would strongly recommend you avoid this phone.

I only bought this phone today but I am already in love (: the camera is not great compared to my 5 megapixel k850i! But a good little phone. Lots of good features including in your on 3 then free MSN messenger. The earphones that come with the phone are really good. I have got the phone in black & silver. Love it, definitely a good buy xx.

This phone looks good, opens many programs, has 3G also. But it's keyboard malfunctions in some months, dust gets behind the screen after sending it to customers care. Don't ever open it! It has good camera, it doesn't have light on camera, not good for making a movie, picture is like water.

We have 4 of these Sony Ericsson K660i's in our family. Truly this is an amazing & great all rounder for a mobile phone.
There was only one snag. Only one of these 4 phones gave us a problem. First it was with reception. Only 3G was working. Customer service tried to fob me off that this was natural for this model phone, but when I had 3 other models from them too which did not perform like this, how could they argue. Had it replaced by 3. Then the microphone of the replacement did not work. Had that replaced again. Touch wood the new replacement is working great. I suspect quality control or their technical staff are not up to scratch.
This K660i so far is the best overall performance mobile we have ever had the pleasure of using, despite the problem of getting one of them repaired.
It is a 10 out of 10 rated phone once it is working as it should.

I bought this phone after a lot of reviewing. To my dismay found out that it's quite opposite to what the reviews said, it really doesn't do its job. Bad Phone. Doesn't have all the features one can expect from a non smart phone. With HSDPA, Internet is really slow. The media player is really silly. But it supports audio books & podcasts. Phew. One plus point. Even the sound quality is better on my previous Sony Ericsson W200i music phone. If someone's planning to buy this phone, you are bound to be disappointed, trust me. The worst feature I have found is its average camera. Thanks to that & all the other silly features the phone are terrible!

To be honest I would give this 100% on everything but people would not take the review seriously then. It's perfect if you're simply using the phone for calling texting & sometimes browsing. Ideal for teenager. Late teenager. Features are not perfect, 3.2 megapixel camera & flash would have made it better. Other than that it has everything I need. It has no touch screen nonsense & is not massive & bulky. It's also EXTREMELY cheap (£70 on t mobile I think) for what it offers. Buttons are very easy to text with compared to thinner rectangular buttons. That's all I have really, I do actually love this phone would recommend to anyone. Just a shame O2 (the place I work) don't sell it ;).

My daughter got this phone is August, since then it has been back to be repaired three times & then finally replaced. Same fault each time, freezes & switches itself off! She has been using the replacement for 1 day & it has started all over again.
We will be taking it back to 3 & demanding a replacement, something different this time I think.
Don't waste your time or money.

This phone looks great, but after a few weeks, the phone started to switch off & freeze, which requires the battery to be taken out & then restarting.
The Internet feature is good, but is extremely expensive so not really used.
Overall the phone is great looking, but, as with other Sony Ericsson's, they turn off & freeze too frequently.
Hope this review helps you.

When I came across the Sony Ericsson K660i, I believed it to be the perfect phone for me. I had always needed a media phone, & it looked very classy.
When it arrived, I had to admit I had not seen such a nice looking Sony Ericsson before. Not only the look of the phone itself, but all of the applications were very well laid out & looked fantastic.
I had high hopes for the features of this phone. The memory of it is incredible, & I was instantly storing countless tracks on it. The camera however, which I knew to be only 2.0 megapixel, could probably be described as the worst feature in the features section of this phone. The zoom will only work in certain modes, & the night mode is below average. In a well lit room, it is still not the greatest quality picture. However, if you are looking for a media phone then this would be a fantastic option.
The usability of this phone is fairly hard to begin with, but after getting used to it, which took me around 2 weeks, it is a very simple phone to navigate. All of the options & applications are exactly where you would expect them to be, & are very quick loading. I have never come across a phone that is so easy to text with, & the text messages also come with a range of smileys for people that are fans of those. The Internet on it is not of an incredibly fast nature, but will suffice for a phone that is not designed around the web.
In conclusion, this is a very classy, easy to use phone which offers you a wide range of applications. If you are looking for a phone with an outstanding camera, then I would not advise this one, but for any other types of media, then I would definitely point you in this direction.

I am on Vodafone with the Sony Ericsson K660i & it is amazing. I have had this phone for 6months now & I haven't had a problem with it what so ever, (may I just add if the phone gets overheated it will shuts down automatically to stop the memory card from getting extremely hot & braking, this is what might be happening to those of you who said that the phone goes off in the middle of a call or something.
I have the blue model & not only does it look stylish, it's a very addictive phone to have, once you pick it up you can't stop using it, especially as it has got web messaging etc.
It doesn't have flash or auto focus which I was a tiny bit disappointed with, but the night mode was fantastic & generally the picture comes out very good with or without night mode.
This phone is very easy to use & every day I find something new on my phone LOL. But yeah generally very good, extremely good Internet access, loads within about 3 seconds which is really good.
Also if your on Vodafone network. If you spend £3 you then get unlimited free text on the weekend to any mobile network. & if you spend £5 pound in a week you get free weekend calls as well as text. With the calls you get 60 minutes free to any mobile network, unless the person you want to call is on Vodafone as well, then you get free calls to them whenever, wherever.
I would mark this as an excellent phone, very stylish & a perfect phone for everyday use.

This phone was amazing, I loved the green colour. But after a few months, it started turning off & back on again. It soon grew out of that though, but then the speaker broke. 3 were a nightmare about this, & we had to fight to get it replaced. I then finally after 3 weeks got it replaced, but with a black & silver model. Very disappointed with this, as it doesn't look half as good as my old green one. Otherwise a brilliant phone!

I got this phone because it looked cool, it had Skype & the menus were quite easy to navigate. But the downside it that this phone is complete rubbish & I would not recommend it for anything.
The phone hangs & freezes, the battery life is dismal & the call quality sucks. I have made this brief because there are so many problems with it.
I had this phone replaced once then repaired. Now I am going to get it repaired again because the phone kept on hanging up on me during a conversation & the call divert won't deactivate.
I am on a 3 Contract & whilst I was getting this phone repaired, I had an LG loan handset & it was perfect! I had no problem with it & was sad to part with it, as I had never used such a cool handset like this one.
It is a big shame that the mobile phone quality & manufacturing standards are so low & that an average user has to go through so many phones to get a decent one that lasts.
So please DON'T get this phone, otherwise you will be wasting your money.

I've had the phone for about 4 months. Started off really good, loved the way it looked & it worked fantastically! Over the last few weeks it's started playing up, just turns itself off whenever, which is extremely irritating in the middle of a call! Now, it deletes my messages & contacts! I am having to turn it off, take the battery out etc. Just to get it to work, which only lasts for a few minutes until it messes up again!

I got this phone on 3's 300 mix & match plan which with the 300 added 3 to 3 minutes means my other half & I can speak to each other for 1200 minutes a month! The 3 man said we could also use Skype which would give us unlimited but I can't talk to her that much!
Mine came with a 512MB card which was better than the 128MB it was supposed to come with.
Anyway, to the phone, I love it. I don't have very many cool things but this white, lime, silver lump of candy is way cool.
I am not used to the Sony Ericsson layout so I keep pressing back & ending what I am doing rather than C to backspace but I guess I'll get used to that. I don't particularly like the main select button with the surrounding up, down, left & right buttons that are hard to press with my big fingers. It looks like the old Sony Ericsson joystick but isn't.
I wasn't really interested in web browsing but the bit I have done works really well. 3 do an unlimited add on for £5 per month which would be good if I needed it. Even without that it comes with free eBay access & Windows messenger which makes my kids laugh when I chat to them whilst on the loo. I tried the Google Maps thingy which worked very well pinpointing my location but then I got worried about the cost of my data usage!
Navigating around is fast & no bugs (I read the Nokia 6500 slide reviews which was the other option!)
I love the music player which was my most important criterion after making calls. Excellent sound quality & I found you can fast forward/back through tracks which my old phone wouldn't. Plays WMAs as well as MP3s. Has an interesting TrackID feature where any music playing through the phone can be identified with the artist & album, even from its RDS radio. You can use the Radio through its speaker but must have the headphone set in for the aerial.
I haven't used the camera much but what I have done looks about as good as it gets for a 2MP camera. Good deep colours & quite clear. No black outlines. Not particularly good in low light & there is no flash or torch which is my only gripe.
I've recorded one video. It's usable but I won't be making any feature length movies. Oh, the sound quality on the clip was surprisingly good when I played it back through my PC.
& it makes phone calls. No problems so far & it works in the places my old one wouldn't, like deep in Tesco's or a shop. Maybe that's the network, I don't know.
It does voice activated dialling, but I couldn't get it to add a contact. Probably me being silly & I won't use it anyway.
The organiser is OK but I prefer my wife's Nokia 3120 which lists the notes for each day as you pass over it. The K660i just highlights a day with any notes but you don't know what it is until you open the day.
Battery life is OK until I start using MSN which I think probably uses more than a call. Then I can flatten the battery in a couple of hours.
All in all I am very pleased with it.

Absolutely amazing phone, looks cool, great music player, brilliant camera, Fast Internet, Way more solid build quality than Nokia's, Easy to use, the menu interface is really easy to understand. Google Maps is awesome, Face warp is a right laugh, warp someone's face then use it as contact picture. Always makes you smile when they ring.
I actually like the keypad that some people don't. I think it's really good & you can really feel when you have pressed the keys.
Battery life is excellent, easily lasts 2 to 3 days on a single charge.
The screen I think is real glass not plastic like on some phones so doesn't scratch easily. Mine is on 3 Network & is the black with silver stripe model which looks so good. Hope this review helps.

I was a devoted Nokia man until I bought this. I used to have Sony's but changed to Nokia's because the camera's were so much better. Thought I would give this a try & I am so glad that I did. The Camera is only 2MP but it is really good for capturing the moment & the option to play back you pictures to a soundtrack of your choice while the camera fades the pictures in & out is superb. I have printed a few pictures off the phone & they are really excellent quality. Rather that mess around focusing & zooming etc while taking the picture, just point & shoot then fix it after with the excellent in built software. The phone also has built in Google maps which is superb. While it isn't a voice guided sat nav, what it does do is pin point your exact location in about 5 seconds then you can enter a post code where you want to go then it gives you really precise directions. This phone is also really fast when browsing the Internet, the fastest I have tried in fact, & you can turn the phone to view the web in landscape mode & keys 3, 6, 9, & hash become hot keys, really cool. Now the music player, this phone isn't marketed under the W Walkman logo but I tell you the music player is excellent, so much so that I will be selling my Sony MP3 player. You have all the options that the W phones have including album artwork etc in the display. The phone also has track ID software built in then if you hear a song you like record a clip then it finds what song it is for you. A really classy phone this is that I picked up for £51 on eBay. What a bargain. If I had paid £100 then I would be more than happy. Goodbye Nokia, you will have to do something really special to win me back.

I wouldn't recommend this phone.

I bought this phone From Malaysia after a lot of reviewing. Just as the reviews said, it really does its job. Got almost all the features one can expect from a non smart phone. With HSDPA Internet is really fast. The media player is really cool & also supports audio books & podcasts. Even the sound quality is better than my previous Sony Ericsson W200i music phone. If someone's planning to buy this phone, you won't be disappointed, trust me. The only con I have found is its average camera. Except for that the phone is great!

I have been using this phone for 2 months now & it's my first Sony Ericsson phone. Got to say that it's the best phone I have had so far. I am simply in love with the design & features. It's like a Walkman phone with d extra touch of style. Mine's a Lime on white. Loving it!

It says it doesn't have the Walkman music & I was wondering if anyone could tell me what is meant by this. I have a Walkman at the moment & I love the Walkman music feature so without this is it really worth buying?
Also has the camera got a flash?
I am thinking of buying this phone but would like the answers to my questions first. Thanks xx.

Only criticism is why it does have a reminder to let you know there is a message waiting. I.e. Keep vibrating or an annoying beep every few minutes. If you miss a message coming that's it unless you keep checking the phone, & when you do, there is only a small envelope at the top of the screen. Not what you call very noticeable. Apparently most phones don't have this facility except my old cheap Motorola.

Firstly, there are three different designs for this phone. Picture the black phone, but get rid of the wine colour & put in a cyan colour. Alternatively, search up black & blue K660i on Google images & it's there. I got that from T Mobile.
Anyway, I got this phone on a £30 contract, & I must say I love this phone! Originally having the Sony Ericsson W810i, I am proud to say I am glad the Walkman isn't on here, mainly because I used to be on it all the time, ignoring everyone. The media player is obviously on here, but I don't use that as much. The camera is a good quality, the view of the phone is stunning, & I often use the screen as a mirror because it is so clear! The buttons on the side are hardly noticeable, which on my last phone they were & the buttons on the cyan band are very well laid out. The only downfall was when I first saw this phone, I thought it would be hard to text because of the small buttons, & having this phone now, it's not as difficult as I thought but is still hard. Maybe because I am used to the bigger buttons?
All in all, this is a good phone, & I recommend it to anyone. & to the comment below, I haven't found it, so it looks like you have to go onto the Internet for this.

Love it. I have this phone on £15 mix & match on 3.
- It has good memory, expandable, I received a 256MB with the phone but I can extend it when I feel necessary but at this point I can get 50 songs on :).
- the design is ace (I have the lime on white), it looks sophisticated & mature :).
- the camera could be better maybe a flash should be introduced to add the WOW factor.
- the games on it are mostly rented, so out of a choice of 10 I am only able to play 2 without paying.
If you are considering contract I would recommend 3 as they have good phones on good contracts with free Internet on pay as you go & contract.
Hope this has helped a lot of people. Sony Ericsson have come up with a good one this time :).

I've just received this phone today & from my initial impression, the design seems to be of outstanding quality, it has a very sophisticated & elegant feel to it.
In terms of the choice of colour, I was a bit confused as to which colour I should get, the options I had were either 'lime on white' or 'wine red on black'. I was after something a bit sophisticated yet unique & different to the standard 'black' colour phones.
After careful consideration & taking a consensus from friends & family, I decided to go ahead with the 'wine red on black' & I have to say, it seems as though I made the right choice. It suits both men & women, as the colour scheme is neutral. The 'lime on white' is not a bad choice, although I would describe it as a bit feminine since it has lime green around the edges of the phone whereas the wine red on black version has a silver chrome around the edges of the phone. I would therefore recommend the 'wine red on black' for men although the 'lime green on white' isn't an extremely feminine choice & is recommended for people who like to be bold & are not afraid to be different & unique to the norm!
In terms of features, it has beautiful themes & a sophisticated music player, although the headset which comes in the package isn't really that good, upgrade your headset to the HPM 70 or HPM 82 & you will find that the sound quality is drastically improved.
The camera is only 2 MP, & for me, this is a decline in quality since I am upgrading from the K800i which was a cyber shot phone boasting a 3.2 MP resolution. The camera quality would be best described as reasonable, nothing too outstanding but bearable.
The Internet is a pleasure to use on this phone & it is pleasing to see that the browser has been improved with the addition of a pointer & the ability to scroll across & down & make the appropriate selection.
Overall, I would say that this is an excellent addition to the Sony Ericsson range of phones. This product is targeted at a wide consumer range, it is a phone that is well balanced in terms of features but does the basics very well.
Well done Sony Ericsson :-).

Cannot fault the phone itself, my problem is that I am now tied into another 18 month contract with 'Three' after finding out too late that the phones they get from Sony Ericsson are all imported from the USA & as such are not compatible with UK versions o outlook so you cannot back up between outlook address book & phone or vice versa.
Three very kindly do not tell you this when you upgradeor I suspect get a new contract with them.

I've had this phone for about 6 weeks now & I think it's great. Yes it definitely has an MP3 player, I bought a 2gig card for twelve quid & it works great. The phone cost £100 on PAYG from 3, I lost my k530 on contract after a night out & could have got another k530 on PAYG with 3 for £60, fortunately they didn't have any so I paid the extra £40 for the k660 & I am glad I did although there was not much wrong with the k530i.
When I was looking for phones I looked at the w660i & as far as I can remember the main difference is that due to the w being the Walkman brand you get enhanced bass on it, however it can't touch the k660 for style.

One downfall no flash on camera. Buy it!

Is the quality of pictures good with the 2 megapixel camera? I am asking this because the Samsung G600 has 5 megapixels but everyone is saying that the quality is very bad.
Does the phone have an MP3 player? It's not made very clear!

Hi Josh, My son has the 770i & I have just bought the 660i after losing the k530i a few weeks ago. The main difference between the two is the camera 770i has a 3.2 megapixel & 660i 2.0 megapixel. The 770i is about £40 quid more expensive so you're paying about £40 more for a better camera. The next thing you need to consider is styling this is down to preference but for me the 660i wins hands down. If you're not too bothered about styling or camera go for the 530i it has 2.0 megapixel camera the styling is good (in my opinion) & the spec is about the same as the 770 & the 660 but you can get it for £70 on PAYG with 3mobile. I really like the 660i.

This is a stunning phone packed with features, great looks, light, slim & fully geared up for Web access.
The finish is high quality; this is a mobile that will please the fashionable people out there as well as just those of us who want a phone that does what it should & do it well.
Sony Ericsson has pulled a rabbit out the hat that's got 'Winner' written all over it. Brilliant handset just got mine on 3's Mix & match 1100 deal at £20 a month. A total steal in a very cool package.
The lime green & white finish is very stylish (a black & red wine finish is also available). Backlit keys with green metal edging round the case. The screen is a standard size, but you can view the web, or live TV in landscape as well as portrait mode, which is a nice touch.
Although not as robust in terms of 'feel' in hand as Nokia's E51, the K660i neither feels as if it will fall apart & feels solid, with an excellent construction & finish. The 2MP camera is also included, but this is more of an afterthought; this isn't a phone for the photography buff.
Very highly recommended otherwise when you see the fuss made about average handsets like the iPhone that are all hype & a lot less substance, it's a crime to ignore this little Sony Ericsson which does so much so very well.
