I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone. It turns itself off all the time, it has low memory, it won't accept picture messages for some reason & it's recently stopped accepting incoming calls. My contracts due up in a month's time so I'll be able to upgrade fortunately. Until then I'll have to communicate with my nearest & dearest via pigeon carrier or two cups tied together with a piece of string!

Absolutely useless. It turns itself off every 2 minutes! It doesn't ring when people try to call you & it doesn't receive voicemails or texts the majority of the time! What use is that as a phone?
Worst phone I have EVER had, id strongly recommend nobody to buy as it seems the turning off factor is a very common one! I am taking mine back to complain, not even had it for a year yet!

Pros.
- Had it for a year & any issues with the phone have been insignificant. It's crashed about twice in my recollection in the past 6 months.
- Good size.
- Reasonable battery life.
- Pop email works a charm.
- Easy to hack, Flash it to W660 & it becomes a truly awesome phone :D.
Cons.
- Keypad is fiddly.
- I never used iMode so I had to flash it to install java apps.
- Camera is a waste of time, no flash & no autofocus, means camera might as well be VGA.
I'd recommend this phone on the basis that it lasted for a year in my jeans pocket with keys, getting dropped the odd time on dirty club floors & does everything I could have asked of it. With so many phones crashing all the time & having temperamental issues, it's a pleasure this worked for so long glitch free. Now that it's running Walkman 2 I am having difficulty finding a decent upgrade.

Good design. But don't have games. I can't install games & low memory storage.

This phone is great, the only problem I am having is that it keeps turning itself off for no reason, I am not sure why because a lot of the time it has full battery, for me I only have to charge it every 3 days which is good!
Reviewer: Paul Newell - Alton, UK

Have had it for 6 months & find that the battery life is very poor. Most annoying of all is the fact it always switches it's self off for no reason. I have always used Nokia's & at the first opportunity I will revert back to them.

This phone seemed good at first. Now I've had it awhile, I found it to be lacking a great deal. Plus it turns itself off when it feels like. Which is no good to anyone.

I am purchasing this phone soon & I looked into loads of other phones & this one is the best! The price is really good & the specs on it seem brilliant not to mention that is looks good as well, I see that the other reviews are good & I hope it lives up them!

First Sony Ericsson phone I've owned & was surprised to how good it was for the price. I a bit concerned over the past comments about it breaking down, but it seems to be doing the job so far.
Reviewer: Kostas - Athens, Greece

Bought this phone a week ago. It functions without any problems so far. For its price this phone is great! Its design is superior, the camera is good enough, & so the audio quality. (OK if you want to take high quality photos, go buy a digital camera, it is not worth to spend all your money on a mobile phone only to take high-quality photos!) The I-mode feature can help a little with the disability to add games from the computer to the phone.
9 to 10 from me!

Rubbish I can't believe it, it's the worst phone ever, bad phone, never buy it.
Reviewer: Louis Nguyen - Adelaide, Australia

Everything is great, the phone, software, buttons. Until, it broke down for no reason. I had this phone for 5 months & then problems start arising, first it won't turn on, battery failed to charge & now it refuses to be switched on. One piece of advice, Do Not Buy Anything from Sony Ericsson. Stick with Nokia! Worst phone of this life time.

Bought this phone last month for a great price, gots lots of freebies with it. Great value for money. Love it & it looks so cool!
Reviewer: Micky - Boon Lay, Singapore

1. External: Slim, light & stylish black colour
2. Function: User friendly buttons and improved screen features
3. Battery: Average life span
4. Camera/video: Not the best but visible enough casual usage
I love this phone. Sony Ericsson has done a great job launching a series of good phones recently. Keep it up!

It is a great phone, sure, but what really annoys me is that you can't install normal java games. Apparently this phone is using some DoComo Java system or something, which cannot support normal java games (.jar) I love Ireland! But, I am stuck in Singapore. Zut.
The design & speed are great though.

If you like using standard java application (MIDP), don't buy this phone. It doesn't support standard java. You can not install java games out there. However, it is 3G & it has I-mode as replacements.

Great phone (until it broke). One of the keys stopped working the other day. I have had the phone for a month. Very disappointed now. It's in repair.

After years with a Nokia, I thought I may have problems getting used to it. But no an evening playing & I was up & running. I am very happy with it.

Good bit of kit, miss my D600 as was a bit easier to use. Camera needs a flash.
Reviewer: Paul - UK
Date: 2nd Jan 2007
After having the Samsung D600 I changed to this phone & it's so much easier & user friendly to use in comparison so I love it. However I will have to wait & see how things go as a few friends & their friends who have had this phone & other Ericsson's have said there are software problems them & have constantly need repairing & don't recommend them! Will wait & see what & if anything happens.

My boyfriend just got me this phone for Christmas & I love it! Slim fit, well designed Sony Ericsson! It has an endless list of features, the sound, picture & video quality is amazing! Now I can annoy all my mates with my music. Really loud! Overall an amazing phone. :D 10/10 !

Recently broke my w800i & had to buy upgrade. Managed to get one of these bad boys & it rocks. One of (if not the) best phones on the market nowadays.
Reviewer: William Johnstone - Edinburgh, UK

This is a cracking phone, slim & easily fits in your pocket & full of plenty of features. The imode is fantastic & easy to use. The screen is bright & the keypad is firm & has a well made feel to it, also the menu is great to navigate. This is my first Sony Ericsson moving from Nokia & I was a bit unsure at first but I shouldn't have worried. This wee cracker!

It's rubbish. Don't buy this model. You can't install any games. Has a problem.
Reviewer: Greg - Essex, UK

Got this phone this morning. Still trying to work it out as I have had Nokia's for the last 5 years. Nokia seems to have gone large & although this phone has been out for some time (standard K610, red version), it still kicks the bottom off any phone out there. Longer battery, lighter & smaller, so much so, you will be surprised.

Got the k610im today. Design is very nice, it feels light & well put together. Transferring from Nokia to Sony the keys were hard to use at first. Worked them out now & I am sure I will get along well with this quality, well designed phone.

FYI Ordered mine today, through O2 online. Should be yet another phone kicking Nokia's bits. Notice how Nokia now style their phones like Sony Ericsson?

Overall love this phone. It almost has everything in it. But I only have one problem. Not sure its because of the phone or its just me. My friends can't receive any MMS from me when I send them. They are using non I-mode handset. Does anyone know what the problem. Have been calling my service provider but they are ignoring me. Haiz.

Still marked as 'Coming Soon in October' on the O2 UK site, so theoretically it should be out tomorrow. I doubt it though.

Just FYI for everyone who wants to know. (O2 UK Employee...) K610im will be released both online & in store from 25th September. Very big fan of this handset. I too have been waiting for an imode handset that doesn't look like it was designed in a hurry...

Love this phone to pieces & want it on looks alone. Haven't seen it in the flesh but wow what a great spec & the sleek black design is what drew my attention to it in the first place. Small 3G phone with iMode is what I have been waiting for, thank you so much Sony Ericsson, I knew you wouldn't let me down on the design front. My only question is when when when???
