I've had this phone for just over a year & a half now & although it worked well when I first got it, it gradually became slower & slower & I am now shopping for a new phone as it continually freezes up when I am trying to send text & randomly crashing.

The camera is OK, but if you're shopping for quality of the camera, don't buy this phone. The zoom is dodgy & pictures tend to come out quite dull.

The memory on this phone is terrible. Also, it only alerts you that you have no text memory left when there's about space for 2 or 3 more texts in your inbox so if you're too busy to clear it out it is likely that you won't get any incoming texts as this seems to be too much for it to handle.

I loved the joystick at first, until it broke. It now physically hurts to scroll down as I have to push it so hard.

Basically, like most Sony Ericsson's, it's a great phone to begin with, but it decides to stop working after a length of time. Personally I wouldn't recommend buying it if you're wanting a phone to last you more than a year.

Having said that, it does make some pretty fun noises!

Had this phone almost 9 months now. I've never been one for expensive fancy handsets, so this has been perfect. Only cons would be the low memory & the poor sound quality for MP3 ringtones, but not a huge concern bearing in mind it's not built as a music player. You get exactly what you pay for, & probably a fair bit more on top. A great phone.

Good Stuff.

- Joystick, makes it easy to navigate. Sort of.
- Bluetooth.
- It works!
- Dropped it a couple of times but still works 100%.

Bad Stuff.

- 1.3 mp Camera, rubbish?
- the back keeps falling off!
- Not much memory & NO MEMORY CARD.
- Small display.
- After a while the USB stops working!
- Problems with joystick after a while too.
- No Radio.

Na, don't buy this phone if you're going to use it much. Personally I think it is totally poor.

This phone is great. I have this phone for about 18 months & worked very well. At least it's very worth of its price. Most important is its sound quality. It's amazing & camera is also very nice.

Negative part is the joystick problem. But that started after a year & it's not memory card supporting, just 28MB memory. Rest everything great! Recommended!

Cons
- No radio.
- Small 23MB memory (if you care about mp3s on a phone).
- Unsuitable for large hands.
- Screen blacks out after 20 seconds so screensaver is pointless.
- Don't think you can remove, alter start up & shut down screens.

Pros
- Seems fine & responsive.
- Decent fast camera.
- Video recording.
- Nice bright colourful screen.
- Bluetooth.

Conclusion
A few annoying setbacks, otherwise excellent value phone for 30 GB pounds.

The only fault I can find with this phone is the very low memory. If you drop the bit rate of the music you can get around 20 to 30 songs (assuming the original songs are around 4 to 5 MB). However you trade some quality for the smaller size if you tamper with equalizer you can improve it a little. The software to do this is included in the pack when you get it.

Like I said I can't find fault with the phone other than the memory, great phone for the price you'll pay.

I brought this phone from virgin excellent delivery, however this phone is rubbish let me tell you why you shouldn't buy it.

I had this phone for a total of 3 months & am now buying a k800i because. The keypad falls apart, the case is really loose & always falls off, the joystick fell out, no memory card & not very loud.

I would highly suggest getting either the k550i or something above. You may think this phones a beauty for the price but believe me, it's worth getting a better one now rather than in a few months time.

I have had this phone for over a year but the memory it holds isn't very good it can hold about 7 to 9 songs the picture is only 1.3 & sometimes looks blocky if you don't want lots of space & just would rather use a phone just for phoning instead of new other optional stuff. It's an alright phone just don't expect loads of memory or good picture quality

Choose wisely it doesn't have a memory card slot so if you have extra money upgrade to the k850i like I did.

It's a nice looking user friendly phone with many useful features. I like the plain design more than sliders or flippers as more reliable & easier to use.

The major downside is the reception. In the mountains my brother sitting next to me could freely talk on his Motorola while the K510 had no reception at all. Even in the city in the corner of my office room I had trouble with the reception & it wasn't the case with other peoples Nokia's, Motorola's or with my own old Samsung.

Another minus is that it doesn't have a standard & so widely used, mini USB port. In order to have another charger at work, or in the car, or to connect headphones, you need to buy all these things separately.

This phone is absolutely great. It may be one of the cheapest Sony Ericsson's out there but it beats some of the mobiles like the Motorola KRZR K1. It has all the features that you need. Like someone said it's very easy not to break it. I have dropped it on my bathroom tiled floor hundreds of times & it has not even broke. This phone is perfect for people that want a good phone at a good price. Stick with Sony Ericsson.

I got this phone last April as my first phone. Overall I think the design of the phone is very good. It is the same shape as the W200i. It easily fits in any pocket & is quite stylish too. The only downside is the joystick. I actually quite like the joysticks on Sony Ericsson's but the fact that it can break after 6 months is a little annoying. If the same has happened to you then Master Resetting it may help a little, it has for me.

The camera, at first, looks a bit rubbish, but when you take the pictures to the computer they look much better & are very good for a phone this price. The menu is very easy to use & texting & calling is simple. The media player is okay but as others have said you can't fit many songs. However if you have an Ipod, MP4 & MP3 then it doesn't matter.

Overall I think this a truly excellent phone for the price, only being let down by the joystick problems, it's a very durable, good value phone. Best low range phone ever, & with a great price tag to go with it.

It's a good phone with LOADS of features such as a camera, video player, voice recorder, Bluetooth, music DJ & much more! However the memory is RUBBISH & you can only fit 3 short songs on the MP3 Player! For the first year that I had this phone it was great, but after 1 year it started freezing & the battery said it was empty when I had just charged it up! I don't really like the style of this phone, I like flip or slide phones the best, that's why I am getting the Samsung E250v for Christmas! But don't get me wrong, it's still a very good phone!

Okay, I had this phone last Christmas so it's almost a year old. I can honestly say this is a good phone. The display isn't bad. The camera is quality, but you can't really see if it's a decent picture until it's uploaded onto a computer. Image quality is superb for a phone.

This phone has served me well. However using predictive text & navigating menus is made very difficult due to the lacklustre scrolling thingy. This breaks very easy with very limited life. Good volume on calls, loudspeaker is fairly clear.

Overall I would recommend this phone to others if the scroll bar thing worked properly every time. It seems to be a common issue & a bad design fault.

I thought that this phone was so much better & a lot easier to use than my old Motorola. I only bought it as a cheap fill-in whilst I saved up for a top of the range, but I now think I might stick with it for longer. The only problem is the limited memory. I have an iPod so music on the move is not too hard but more memory would make the phone just that little bit better. Features I liked were:

- Quick Bluetooth.
- Email.
- infra-red.
- MP3 Player
- Media related applications (such as video & picture DJ).
- Also the 1.3 mega-pixel camera.

This phone is a good cheap all-rounder & I strongly recommend it to new users to the 21st century!

I gave this phone a design grade of 90%, because really what more can you add to it? It looks awesome! It's so small & easily held in one hand. I love the way the speaker is fitted into a tight space just below the camera.

I gave the features a 80% because it has very good features. It can play quite a few movie & sound files & takes very nice pictures. It also has several accessories such as stopwatch, calculator & alarm. It also has 3D gaming graphics. It's fantastic how they can fit all this into such a small phone.

I gave usability 95% because it's so ridiculously easy to use. Everything is detailed ever so nicely so the user knows what to do & how to do it. It also features a help system when you first start it up to help with the basics of your phone. Fantabulous!

It has a good memory for your favourite songs &, it isn't going to replace your MP3 player or iPod, it wasn't designed for that. You can turn off the camera click noise by putting the phone on silent. It's a brilliant phone.

I didn't pay for this phone but if I had to I wouldn't pay that much for it. Memory is rubbish though it looks cool & it's got Bluetooth, infra-red & can store lots of SMS so all good because I text a lot. The camera is really not very good & VGA cameras come up so much better, even though 1.3 is supposed to be better, it's not. Battery dies really quick though it is supposed to last up to 6 hours talk time but it really doesn't. The animations don't look as nice when texting as they do in other Sony Ericsson fones.

I have had this phone for 2 months & I have had no problems so far. You get a LOT for your money with this phone. Some people in here mistake this phone for an MP3-player replacement, but everyone expecting a Walkman phone for 100 Euro can't be very intelligent. All phones has got MP3 playback capabilities these days because it's a relatively cheap feature to implement, but this does not mean you get an ipod. I choose this phone because it was cheap, has got a decent camera, Bluetooth, & not a ton of features that I would never use. Only bad thing about this phone is the back part of the cover, which seems thin & doesn't fit too well.

This is a really good phone for its price. Takes excellent pictures (nicely viewed on horizontal) & video quality is also good. My only problem with it (like many other owners) is the lack of memory- can only hold a few MP3's, but the sound quality is sharp.

Very good phone. Mine broke this week & I am very disappointed. Good value for money but avoid charging from the USB. The battery is lost rapidly. Another problem is it freezes on screens randomly this has been a problem since I bought it & I thought nothing of it. But now it takes 30 minutes to turn on & turns itself off whenever it chooses. I wish there was more memory for songs or a memory stick slot because the sound quality & the volume are very good for a phone at this price, I recommend this phone.

I deleted the 7 songs I had on the phone & the previous video but the memory didn't increase & has been at 39KB since so I can't even fit ONE song on it now!

Any ideas on what I could do to sort this out would be very appreciated.

Quite a good phone with a sleek design & lots of features. Each key gives a solid click, the joystick feels quite sturdy & is easy to use.

Pros:
- USB-cable & software included
- Bright screen, vivid colours, fast & intuitive interface
- Enough memory to store some pictures, ringtones & games, though certainly not to be considered as an alternative for an MP3-player
- Long battery life
- Camera better than expected

Cons:
- Not possible to set a timer on the key lock-feature
- No use to set the clock as a screensaver since the screen goes completely black when not using the phone
- as mentioned before: the back panel doesn't fit properly, there's a little too much space between the cover & the battery, which allows the panel to 'flip' back & forth a little each time you put pressure on the phone, e.g. When dialing a number or typing an SMS. However, I didn't consider it worth exchanging the phone, I just fixed the problem with a small piece of paper fold in four =)
