Sony Ericsson K300i Review

The Sony Ericsson K300i is a very sleek & elegant classic camera phone. Sony Ericsson marketed this particular mobile phone towards the middle of the market which makes the K300i a very affordable phone with many features. The K300i offers the user great value for their money. The K300i is full of superb quality built in features which includes a camera that is very user friendly. It takes one simple press of the camera button to operate & the camera is ready to use. If the user would prefer to take a video clip then all they need to do is switch the function to video & then it is ready to use. Sony Ericsson made the K300i a user friendly phone by using some very simple function keys. The video clips feature on the K300i offers the user the option to download & play short video clips of recent sport & movie trailers on their own phone.

The phone comes complete with embedded Java 3D games & the 65k colour screen is an excellent quality for playing the games. The MP3 player is a really fun feature that is very popular as users can choose some of their favourite artist music as their music tones. It is very easy for the user to transfer their favourite artist music on to the K300i.

The K300i really gives the user so much freedom when it comes to messaging. The user can send & receive messages using text messaging service (SMS), email & multimedia messaging service (MMS). The MMS message gives the user the freedom to send a message complete with text, sound & pictures to any other MMS compatible device.

The K300i is very similar to the Sony Ericsson K500i & the Sony Ericsson T610, but the K300i has a fuller style casing which makes it feel very solid. The phone comes in a choice of visual blue or smooth silver coloured casing & both give the K300i a great modern look.

This mobile phone is such a fun mobile phone to use & it is full of great features. The K300i is the extremely user friendly mobile phone & all at an affordable price.

This is the nice phone if, you used it carefully. If clean the phone once in a month, joystick does not give problem in future. Battery backup is law. Camera clarity is much better than value. Memory is very short. Java game downloadable. Charger connecter port is given problem in future. Nice phone as compare to price.

There are two fundamental problems with this model which the buyer discovers just after a few months of usage.
- Navigation key (joystick) starts giving problems. You have to press multiple times to left before you see the effect on screen.
- the charging port gets corroded due to friction. This is because of poor design of charging port.

& once the above two problems become more compounded the phone becomes unusable just in 1 or 2 years. I won't recommend anyone buying this phone. Better go for that model of Nokia which fits in your budget. Nokia sells a little costlier but quality & reliability wise, they are the best!

I didn't like this phone as it was heavy to carry & rather fat as well. The design is alright but old. It is easy to use but only if you are used to the Sony way of mobile working. Good points are it's easy to text with & OK to ring as well.

Nice looking phone, it's a shame there's no Bluetooth though.

A few problems:

Short battery life

Joystick stopped working properly after the first year. It wouldn't move down which makes it impossible to use predictive text or scroll down through contacts

It takes a while to get used to after another make but very easy to use & has most of the must have features. The memory is quite small & data cables are hard to get hold of though. It is quite big but that doesn't mean it isn't a good design. I'd recommend it!

First, I am in Canada, so mine is a K300a ('a' for America). That said, I am not aware of any MP3 playing on this phone. (Nor do I care, as I have an iPod) I bought this phone for its svelte design & how well it was put together. Pity we can't try these in advance here for reception, clarity of sound etc, you know the marks of a well conceived PHONE. Anyhow, I have had mine for almost a year (since Jan. 2005) & no probs at all. Camera is rubbish & wasted on me, as I already have a great digital camera. What really peeves me is the 'Select/Calls/OK' & 'More' horizontal silver-stick buttons & how tricky it is to accurately activate these. I've found away around the awkwardness of using them. I am also not fond of the ON/OFF button & the center joy-stick. I DO like the tactile pill-button keypad, the Orange back-light (vs. Blue), battery life (talk & standby time) & very compact nature. Oh yes, it has great reception & is very clear sounding in & out. I guess it is quite a fine mobile phone after all!

It has good features on this phone, I have had I for about a year & it is in working condition but I am still getting a new one because this has absolutely no memory. Well not enough to fit on Mp3's, if you want to put an Mp3 player on a phone it must have a lot of memory to fit on the songs. But 12Mb isn't enough, before buying this phone I would consider the memory more than anything. I feel I am going to upgrade to the W300i which has a lot more memory & Mp3 it is the perfect phone for me. Unlike this one Lol!

You either love it on first sight or hate it, for me it was love at first sight. I have read a lot of reviews on this phone & everyone seems to be complaining about the memory & the mp3 player, given that Sony slipped up with the memory but one has got to take the price into consideration. Memory excluded the phone is simply brilliant, if you are looking for value for money, you do not have to look beyond K300i.

I purchased this particular mobile phone on a tighter budget than desired. I must admit I am not usually taken in with all the technological features on the new mobile phones, but this phone has a superb built in camera. My daughter & I sat down with the Sony Ericsson booklet & within a couple of hours she had me sending photos to our relatives abroad. I am a changed woman since purchasing this type of mobile phone, thank you Sony Ericsson.

Sony have slipped up with this one, they are truly making it for the middle to bottom of the market. The music player is useless, actually a joke. The memory is appalling. The camera is fair but does not come with a protective cover over the lens, so I hope you don't scratch yours. I think Sony should stick at designing the expensive top end of the market phones, because this is a joke. It is basically a phone with a few thrown in features that do not give the user any pleasure what so ever. What a mess!

I went out the very next day & upgraded my moby to the same as my mate. All my mates are hooked on Sony mobys, they are the best ever. If you can get a Sony moby they are the business.
