Good points first.
Great phone, stunning colours, light weight phone, what do you want more? Basically I love my practical, cheap Sony as there are great games & has Internet connection. This phone is also really easy to use.

Bad points.
Sometimes my little mobile switches its self off or freezes, battery power everyone says is great, which it is at first, but once you've had it a couple of months the power starts to die down.

Rating 7 out of 10, because it's not got a camera or video recorder.

My caller ID has been blocked. I don't know how to unblock that option, because my girlfriend doesn't answer private calls. Does someone know how to lift that block?

I cannot hear the voice of an incoming caller even with the listening volume turned up. I do not like the lack of details in the phone book so that I have to enter separately an individuals various phone numbers. It was a waste of money.

I love this phone just got it temporally while my other phone was ordered if it is simple you want then this is a good phone, this phone can't be worse hat the new Motorola one which doesn't even have txting. This phone is light weight & ideal for the first time user or a birthday present for young kids who are just able to have a mobile. Great to use & is a winner in my eyes.

I have had this phone for a year & is till can't find the speaker phone. Otherwise it's a great phone the all time fabulous sound quality of Sony Ericsson. I can't connect it to my PC though which is sad because I am sure it would have been better.

- Good in usability
- Low cost, simple mobile phone
- (May not attract fancy users)

- Signals weaker than Nokia. These only feel in rural areas
- unease in reading phone number from directory OR call list as the display changes periodically to show names, phone number & time of call

All Jxxxx series cell phones from Sony Ericsson are substandard ones, if you are comparing them with any of the Nokia's in this range. I feel high end models from Sony Ericsson might be better but in low range model they are weak. Battery doesn't last long. Needs charging every night or 3 times in 2 days. No resale value. Volume of ringtones is very low, incoming calls go unnoticed if the phone is away or in the next room. We miss the call & have to bear the cost of calling back. Keys are convex & are so hard to operate that the tip if thumb keeps on slipping while typing sms's. Phonebook is very pathetic, name against number is not displayed. Either a number or a name is displayed at a time. If we want to search a name against number & call from a landline, you need lots of patience. Name & Number appear one after other for 2-2 secs. After total 6 secs display goes off for power saving. Performance of 4k display in Nokia was found better that 65k display in Jxxxx Smsing is an irritating experience. Coz while typing message if a call comes or if another sms comes, you have to type the whole message again no other option available. You can't even edit the messages stored in archives. Preloaded ringtones are very few & since the phone has no pc connectivity, its polyphonic feature is meaningless. I used Nokia 3100 for 2 years until now & thought of a change but now regretting over my decision.

Huh..... Tired of any further discussion.

Sony E are going mad, the J phones are far too basic for today's market. Okay they look very stylish & I am a fan of the clean cut style of phones but the lack of features is not a good move.

Want the J220i. SE has never let me down & I have no reason to have a camera & video recorder so this suits me great. The keypad on all my previous SE's have been so user friendly & the menus are excellent to follow.

Love blue phones & love texting my mates, so this would be brilliant for me. I would have to choose the sky blue cover as it is totally smart, I am addicted to light blue & everything I buy is blue.

I am very happy with the look of the new Sony Ericsson J range of mobile phones, they are not only very pleasing on the eye but look very easy to operate. I am not keen on having too much technology crammed into my mobile phone & would much prefer to have a more basic & understated piece of equipment that works perfectly. I prefer the J220i in the black coloured handset & the size being 102 x 44 x 18 mm seems great for me to hold in my hand & operate. The weight is a little higher than I would of imagined but this phone will not feel like a piece of plastic in my hand, I like a phone to have a bit of weight to it as I believe it gives it a more substantial feel. The screen should be very clear & bright on this phone as all the other Sony Ericsson screen that have 65k colour are very clear. I am not one for using the messaging services very much as it always seems to take me too long to input the text. Saying that it is good to know that the phone has good messaging services that are very user friendly as I do need to read the messages from my family, then I tend to call them back rather than sending a message in return. The vibration alert is a must have as I am in meetings & environments where I must turn the sound off on my phone. I will enjoy & use the calendar to its full potential & I am hoping that it is very easy to input my reminders, birthday dates & appointments. The last thing that has drawn me towards this phone is the fact that the talk time is a staggering 6 hours & when in standby it can run for 280 hours, this is a winning factor in my eyes. I have no problem charging my phone up whilst I sleep at night but I do not intend to have to re-charge in during the working day, it becomes most frustrating. I am really look forward to getting this phone & I am sure it will be very popular.
