Sent it back 3 times now for repair as it keeps restarting & crashing, & its still not fixed. Things are continuing to go wrong with this phone. Have only had the phone for 7 months & already parts of the phone are falling off, & I am not a consistent phone user. I would not recommend buying this phone.

The design of the phone is good, with a clear display, however I've now had the phone replaced three times within a year due to the same fault, the phone freezes & restarts itself, giving a inactive SIM message & restarting again.
Sometimes the phone only completes a single restart cycle, but more often this happen three or four time, & needing battery to be removed & replaced to stop issue. I've used Sony Ericsson & Ericsson phones for around 10 years & this is the worst one I've ever had.

Had this phone for a year now, absolutely loved the multimedia side of this phone. This was my first phone I ever got. Must say pretty much indestructible, fell from the second floor, all the way to the ground & only a very minor scratch appeared so that proves its toughness & not to add that I have dropped it around about 1000 times & it still look fine just the paint & a few scratches but that's all.
Love the curvy keypad & that metallic finish. I got it for $48 AUD so yeah it was the deal of a lifetime & not just that I got $50 AUD back because I ordered from 3.
But on the other side a few problems I have with the phone is the keypad being too small but other than that, but what can you get for such a low price.
Really love the design, calling & gaming that this phone offers & the camera is just unbeatable which was surprising to me because of it being a 2MP camera phone. Could have done with Wi-Fi but is simply the best phone on such a low price but other than that I probably couldn't have got a better first phone.
I had a really had good run with this phone, but now its with my sister as I have got a new phone, Nokia 5800 Xpessmusic.

I've had this phone for about 8 months now, and it is a bit of a mixed bag. There are many more features than my old Nokia such as 3G (and HSDPA), an extremely easy to use 2mp camera with dedicated button and no shutter lag (though no flash so poor low light shots), and a sharp detailed screen (way more resolution than my old Nokia).
Unfortunately there are some annoying aspects, the worst of which is that if it rings in a jacket pocket, it's almost impossible to get the phone out without putting it into answer phone. The keys are obviously too sensitive but this means I keep cutting people off instead of answering the call. I've made all the correct settings but it still happens, and it hasn't happened with any other phone. Also the detailed and colourful screen unfortunately becomes very faint when outdoors in any daylight, not just bright sunlight, even though I've turned it up to max brightness. This makes it awkward to use. The HSDPA has now disappeared and the phone (like many others) has started switching off of its own accord.
So overall, promising but ultimately a bit disappointing.

This phone is rubish had it for 1 week not treated it bad & the middle button just stopped working & 3 won't fix it, these are rubbish phones for Sony Ericsson to be honest.

I find it very difficult to open the battery compartment which is the best way to solve this problem.

The phone is great & very user friendly. However, I have a slight problem with my G502 Sony. I accidentally dropped it in water & after I got some technician to look at it, it is doing some bad stuff. I am able to receive calls from people but I cannot call or do anything. It says configuration error, consult your network provider or service centre. What can be the problem with this gadget & how can I make it work? Any help? It's more like a receiver & not a phone.

It's a great phone with all great features. I have a question, can anyone say how can you change the font of this phone.

I've been a happy user of Sony Ericsson phones for a number of years until this last month, though admittedly it's not entirely Sony Ericsson's fault that I am presently suffering from mobile phone disgruntlement.
The death of my beloved K850i due to irretrievable firmware failure after 17 months' ownership was traumatic, as was the failure (in the same week! ) of my old K800i which my son had been using. That bit is Sony Ericsson's fault.
Being on contract with 3, & due for an upgrade pretty soon anyway, I went into the store to select a replacement. Problem was I wanted to change the contract too, & I couldn't have both a decent replacement phone & a more competitively priced contract at the same time. Logic dictated that the competitive contract price would be more practical to me in these presently difficult financial times. Besides, although I chose a replacement phone from the lower price bracket, it was a Sony Ericsson so it couldn't be that bad anyway, could it? My choice in that respect is not Sony Ericsson's fault.
Upshot however is that I really don't like the phone, not even a little bit. It feels cheap & fragile when handling it, & the buttons click quite loudly with every press in a most irritating manner. It's a physical click rather than a button tone too, so there's absolutely stuff all that can be done about it. Drives me mad when composing a text message.
Other than the noisy button thing, the G502 functions fine as a phone & text messaging machine, which is really all anyone could want from an entry level phone on a daily basis. However, I miss having a decent camera to hand (not that the K850i was brilliant in that respect, despite being 5 megapixel) & I miss the solid, robust feel of the handsets that I've had previously.
I am now considering shelling out for a higher end handset, though it's going to cost a bit because it'll have to be contract & network free, which renders my earlier logic of choosing a cheaper monthly contract an entirely risible decision.
Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing.

I purchased this phone to replace my dead K530i, what a mistake.cheap, plastic, re sets, turns off, crashes. Etc.
I'd steer well clear. 10 days being repaired & still the same.

Cheap, nasty, plastic, like a child's toy. I sent mine straight back to Three. The sales guy told me that I would not be disappointed with this phone, how wrong was he! It's simply awful. Shockingly bad for Sony, they normally produce top quality phones, so this was a huge disappointment. Very lightweight, very easy to damage too I'd imagine. I can't stress enough how cheap this phone looks & feels, even the functions of the phone seem cheap & nasty! AVOID!

Hello All! Now I am using Sony Ericsson G502. It's really amazing & I can't believe that price. I think nice mobile & very colour full. It has lot of features like mostly college students & middle class people also. I HAVE NO BAD WORD TO SAY FOR THIS MOBILE. IN ALL the CREDIT GOES TO Sony Ericsson. THANK you.

G502 is excellent handset for middle class, Having more feature when I compare with other phone. It have very good resolution, But there is no zooming facility in camera. Many options like picture edit, slide show, Auto complete when we type number.

The device keeps freezing when you don't want it to. It has nice solid keys though. HSDPA use really drains the battery. Great price for a 3G HSDPA phone. Solid build. Does well for its price range.

Just one sentence will describe it, Sony Ericsson G502 is an amazing phone with a VALUABLE PRICE indeed!
I've had this phone for 5 months ago, & I really satisfied by the phone. The MULTIMEDIA features are AMAZING, the speaker is boom, & there is any radio too. The camera can capture photos & videos with a nice quality, if the light is good. Futher more, you can use a memory stick (M2) up to 4 GB (I used 2 GB of M2 memory). The display is very sharp & colourful. The 3.5G is a FAST Internet CONNNECTION. It is really an excellence experience of having a gadget.
But, the G502 often hang when you save a lot of messages (that is stored on the phone, memory, I stored thousands of SMS without delete it), & the phone will take a long time when you open the message menu on the phone, if you still store a lot of message. & the connector of the headset (on the bottom of the phone) is damage relatively fast (the damage happened after 1 month since I purchase it). It makes me not enjoy the headset with pleasure.

I have only one complaint. It doesn't come with a USB cable. This is my first Sony Ericsson mobile phone. Do all Sony Ericsson exclude the USB cable in its package?

Hi, I want to purchase G502. But have lot of confusion as to the battery life after going to the reviews. Can anyone confirm, what is the real talk time? Is it 10 hours as published?

G502 is my first Sony Ericsson phone with great specifications includes:
- HSDPA, even though I only use the GPRS :).
- 2 Inch TFT.
- Great Media player.
- Cheap price.
- Superb browser.
On the contrary, it has flaws like.
- Very thin equipment, no USB cable, then I have to rely on Bluetooth that sometimes have process errors.
- No office & PDF viewer, I think I see too much 6120c :).
- Quite slow process, only if you fill many java apps & data, sometimes crashes too : (.
- About the camera, no flash, best use it at noon.
But I really don't mind about it.
Overall, it pleases very much when you want to have average phone with great basic abilities including browsing.
I think I'll do it often which will best suit me :). Thanks Sony Ericsson! Waited for new Firmware update.

This is among the cheap 3.5G & HSDPA phones on the market, the LG KU250 is cheaper & Motorola V3xx is about the same price & but it is the newest. I am satisfied with the features & it's worth the money, I bought two some days ago one for me & one for my son.
The display is crystal clear, the brightness & the image quality are just fine. I used it mostly for Internet browsing & emailing. Although the data cable was not included inside the box, it was absolutely no problem when I'm surfing the web, because I used its Bluetooth connection as a modem.
The sound quality is good when you used headset (was included on purchasing). The FM radio could only be heard when I plug the headset in & the feature named synchronization is still a hassle, because one should make use of Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync or SyncMl which I feel it is a long & confusing procedure.

At first you will think it is a touch screen phone but actually it is not a touch screen phone. It is just a normal candy bar phone.

It looks good & it has a special application that can give a 3 day weather forecast, how useful is that.
