It's the best phone I have ever had. I can do nearly everything. I always download mangas in zip & open that zip file & read my mangas everywhere I want without Internet. It's like a PC ready for games or for work. It has really big screen that sometimes you don't even need to zoom to read files. I must say that the battery goes down pretty quick but it doesn't matter to me anymore. Sometimes writing messages makes me really angry because it skips some letters when I write fast.

What a waste of money! None of the PC software works on Win XP x64, & I can't even make a playlist without this. Had 5 days of going through support forums to get this phone to do basic tasks, now I've had enough & I am going to put it on eBay.

Always had Sony Ericsson phones in the past but this a rip off. The apps it comes with are just designed to sell you stuff no thought for usability.

Moxier applications, if you root the phone using the one click root.apk available from websites like xda developers then you can access the internal memory & delete the moxier apps outright.

Internet, the phone constantly keeps trying to connect to the Internet, look on the market for widgets to turn Internet on & off. There's plenty of widgets to manage simple things like this.

File management, astro is free on the market. I've had HTC phones without file managers so it's a common thing not just to Sony.

Call log, there is no sorting by incoming, outgoing, missed calls, which I think is very basic to view, delete, save your calls. This is standard with android, not just Sony affected.

Copy Paste, not an easy operation, also you cannot paste a number on the dialler during a call (e.g. when using a calling card or a conference call pin). This is standard with android until they fix it in a later version.

While I didn't have this phone for long, it seemed pretty fast (would run 3D games). I didn't like standard keyboard but an app will easily fix that. Photo taking is alright but noticed when I put videos on my PC that they seemed to be very good quality (certainly for well lit scenarios anyway).

After spending so much money, I am terribly disappointed about the quality & user friendliness of the Xperia X10, very unlike my other Sony Ericsson phones that I have used in the past.

- Phonebook, Contacts keep disappearing & just a simple search on the Internet reveals this is a rampant problem.
- Calendar, Why on earth should I connect to the Internet to just check some dates. Isn't there a simple calendar that I can access without logging into my Gmail or Internet? Doesn't this sound a very basic thing to have?
- Security, You need to register a Gmail account on the phone to use most of the features. If that is not a big problem, there is no way to log off the Gmail unless you unregister the account (the sign out on Gtalk app doesn't really do what it says, because you can simply get back in without entering a password).
- Battery Use, Battery drains up so quickly & Sony Ericsson's support website does not cover one important aspect, that of useless apps running in the background.
- Background Tasks, There are so many unwanted apps running in the background, there is no easy way to cleanly exit an application & worse still, the phone doesn't come with a default task killer.

Can't understand why they expect me to download (& pay extra for) something that is very essential for such a phone.

- Moxier Applications, These are huge battery-drainers. I don't need Moxier mail, but I can't prevent it from running in the background, nor can I uninstall it. OK I compromise & try to use it, but then it asks me things like server name, domain which I don't know where to find.
- Internet, the phone constantly keeps trying to connect to the Internet which I want to avoid (again for battery's sake). Why isn't there a short cut or widget to enable & disable Internet (MMS & Data)?
- File management, Again, no default File manger to check my files, photos, docs & I need to download one or buy.
- Camera, Photos are of good quality, but if I want to transfer a bunch of photos to my PC via Bluetooth, I don't have a way to do in one-shot as there is no way to tick-select the photos & transfer as one lot.
- Call log, There is no sorting by 'incoming', 'outgoing', 'missed' calls, which I think is very basic to view, delete, save your calls.
- Battery status, it gives me all the information that I don't need, but misses the small piece of info that I actually need, the percentage of battery that is still left.
- Copy Paste, Not an easy operation. Also you cannot paste a number on the dialler during a call (e.g. when using a calling card or a conference call pin).

In summary, in comparison to many older phones, Xperia X10 doesn't offer the user some simple features & usability, for that reason I can't really call it a Smartphone.

Have had this phone for 4 days now & still trying to get used to it. Texting is very important to me & I am used to Sony Ericsson phones. Can anyone tell me how to receive delivery reports (I have set the function to receive them, but I still don't get them). Also is there a way to view the status of a text that I have sent. With my Sony C905 & C902 you could go into a sent text & view details as to when it was sent & received. If anyone can please let me know if this is possible, thanks.

Fantastic, the best bit of tech I've ever owned! The only criticisms I could give this phone is that applications often keep running in the background when you think you've turned them off, (something you can get apps to fix)& it's battery life is fairly lame but I believe this is an issue with all touch screen smart phones.

Everything else is awesome. Lots of great Apps for Android, Sony's usual top camera quality (unlike Nokia etc).

Easy to use & very functional.

Simply amazing phone, though as others have said battery life could be a little better, though downloading a task manager app lets you make sure you're not running extras in the background.

Can't fault it so far, neither can any of my friends that got one, having seen mine!

Best phone EVER! By far the best phone in the market at this point in time.

Amazing camera, amazing User interface, gorgeous design, everything is perfect. It's an all rounder & it is the iPhone killer. Agreed that it has not got multi touch but from what has been said, Sony Ericsson will release an OS upgrade in September (this will solve all minor battery problems that some people have been having & it will render the Timescape & Mediascape interface smoother to use as well as improve the screen resolution) & there are high chances for the Sony Ericsson X10 to support multi-touch. Even if it doesn't support multi touch, it beats iPhone hands down. Clay is pretty ignorant in the terms he uses to describe multi touch, etc. Don't let his view point on this phone affect your decision on whether to get this phone or not. Go to a phone shop & try it out for yourself & decide whether it suits your needs or not. To me, this is by far the best phone in the world & it does everything that it should do better than most phones out there.

I can't wait for the OS update :).

Comment only - Best thing since sliced bread. This is an iPhone beater easily with a great os & usability. Only bad thing is that it is only a single touch screen (one finger at a time), unlike the iPhone which has multiple. Otherwise the Timescape & Mediascape applications that come with the phone are 100% ACE. YouTube some videos & have a look, this phone is worth every penny.
