This touch screen 3G Smartphone has been designed to reach the more active Smartphone user, as it comes with a variety of health & fitness applications plus it has a sports focused dust & water resistant casing. The casing will withstand dust as well as water & the touch screen can be operated even with wet fingers. A built in iMapMyFitness application is a fitness based app allowing those health conscious users to track their fitness performance on their Smartphone. its health & fitness focused apps include a Health Mate app works as a calorie counter & a Walk Mate app is a built in step counter. It has an Android operating system version 2.3 also known as gingerbread with the Sony Ericsson Timescape™ touch interface is customisable & positively users friendly in design. The Xperia™ active is from the same Xperia™ range as many handsets but this Smartphone stands out for its ability to suit a user with an active lifestyle. Other Smartphone's from the range include the Sony Ericsson Xperia™ ray & the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo which maybe more ideal for the less sporty person.

It may be a robust & resistant Smartphone, but it still has style as it comes with a striking appearance which is emphasised by the casing colour options. Available casings include a black case with dark orange accents, black case with white accents, white case with dark orange accents or a white case with white coloured accents. Its overall size is ideal for holding or carrying when on a run or jog, which measures 9.2cm by 5.5cm by 1.65 cm giving it a chunky & compact feel, rather than thinner more delicate design. The touch screen is three inches in size & provides an easy to use input method, & a stunning viewing display thanks to Sony Mobile BRAVIA® reality display technology. It is a 3G HSDPA & HSUPA Smartphone which supports many high speed & user friendly technologies including Wi-Fi®, USB connectivity, Edge & Bluetooth®.


The lens for video & photo capturing is built into the back of the casing & is a 5 megapixel lens. There are many features to be enjoyed which allow users to capture a great shot or recording. Users can send their captures straight to the Web & use the 8 times digital zoom to get up close to their desires shot. As it is a touch screen all the imaging features are smoothly controlled using touch activated controls including the touch focus feature. To record high definition video footage the user simply uses the lens to capture when it is in video mode. A radio feature comes with a FM tuner & a radio data system service, plus simple touch screen radio controls make this feature a pleasure to use. Music can be transferred onto the handset via the connectivity options available & played out loud on the media player complete with album art display, music search, music recognition feature & outstanding speaker sound.

Communication is made easy on this Smartphone as it comes with call features, messaging features & applications to suit all the user's needs. Google™ Talk allows users to communicate with friends in a chat style conversation.
