I have had to suffer with this phone for almost a year awaiting my next birthday :( This is without a doubt the WORST phone EVER!

1st off it takes an eternity to start. There is absolutely no point in the Internet feature as it takes up to 10 minutes to load a page. It's impossible to text as it's so slow & crashes as you text. It turns itself off & won't come back on unless I remove the battery & put it back which resets the time & date. One day it decided to remove all my music from the Walkman function & place it in a music folder so I can fast forward or rewind songs, create playlists & such. It constantly crashes & freezes. Deletes texts. Then another day the side where you plug the charger, headphone & USB decided it didn't want to work anymore, I have to tie the charger to the phone using an elastic band to hold it in place & the slightest knock once it's in place stops it charging. I can't use headphones anymore or transfer files using USB. The quality of sound from the speakers has got worse & worse, it sounds all muffled. The camera, well is pathetic. I have sent it back twice & it comes back the same, second time even worse in fact.

DO NOT BUY!

This is, by far, the worst mobile phone I have ever had the misfortune to own!
I bought mine on a Vodafone PAYG from Tesco 17 months ago, I am already on my second handset - the first, the battery just died without warning, according to Vodafone this is a common problem!
The camera should belong in the 1980's because that is what the quality is like, I'd get better joy from a Kodak brownie box.
Battery life isn't great, I charge mine every night. Texting is terrible, often freezes when you type a message, phone turns itself onto silent mode for no reason, causing me to turn off & on the handset, it also takes an eternity to start up!
I never been able to access the Internet on it, let alone get onto Facebook or Youtube!
To add insult to injury, last night I discovered it had done its usual trick & gone onto silent, having missed numerous calls & a few texts. When I restarted the phone it promptly deleted every single text message I had in my phone!
I am ringing Tesco, Vodafone, Sony Ericsson!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS EXCUSE FOR A PHONE!

The phone is a bit plasticy but it is cheap, so that's OK.

It's says over 400 hours on standby, RUBBISH !
After 24 hours on standby it needs charging!
The shop fiddled with it & said try again.
Then they said turn off the active screen saver.
Then they changed the battery.

Now it needs charging after 24 hours on standby, NOTHING CHANGED.

The battery life is terrible & this makes the phone terrible as I keep finding that there isn't enough battery for a call, I am a very low tariff user!

Can I recommend it, NO NO NO.

I had previously had a Sony Ericsson W595 which Vodafone sent me when I started with them on contract. I loved that phone. Sadly, it was stolen, causing me to have to buy a cheaper Phone. Vodafone sent me a replacement SIM card, because I am still on contract with them. I bought a W205, & was told it was 'similar' to the phone I had had previously, only a downgraded version. Downgraded it was indeed, but to say that it was similar to my old phone makes me sick to think about. How could they compare this to my W595!

I had been relying a lot on my old Phone, as a way of accessing Facebook & Youtube when I was away from home, taking videos & pictures & most importantly using it as an MP3 player.

So by the time I was used to using the new phone, the SIM card was in & my contacts resaved, the phone had no Internet connection, the memory card was rubbish & made the phone malfunction, so I had to take that out & not be able to save pictures or music or videos.

& to top that, now the battery has malfunctioned!

So I guess I would recommend this phone to anyone who's in desperate need of a cheap phone, & doesn't need to use it for very long.

This phone is so slow that it is barely usable. The texting can't keep up with the speed of typing. It predicts the complete wrong word all the time & there's nothing you can do about it unless you want to type it all in the old fashioned way. It's utter rubbish. I bought it three days ago & I am taking it back tomorrow.

To start with, the good things. For a 25 quid phone it has a few good features, like decent speakers for music, & a fairly nice design. These are the only good points.
Now be prepared for a long list of the things that are wrong with it.

- Terrible battery life (24 hours at most).
- Tiny memory.
- Bad graphics.
- Pretty awful camera.
- The predictive text never seems to get the right word.
- It seems to never get connection.
- It's often hard to hear someone you're trying to call.

However, the absolutely worst thing about it is how slow it is. It's virtually unusable, as when you are texting with predictive text on, you have to wait for ages for the words to come up on the screen & it's very hard to make corrections. It has also crashed many times whilst I've been writing a text, so I've been forced to restart it, & write the whole text again. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE, WORST PHONE IN the WORLD.

This phone is absolutely an unusable phone. Design is poor & its looks like first slide phones. The worst thing is that it is 'Walkman' phone which it doesn't deserve. Player has no equaliser or bass settings. It's very slow & sometimes it's almost unusable. Camera is only 1.3MP old VGA. Huge pixels on screen, it's not modern. I am very sorry that I have it. Don't buy, look around & buy something better.

Basically you should never ever buy this phone. I have never once complained about a phone I have had, & I had a 3310 for goodness sake! Rubbish camera, rubbish memory, rubbish Bluetooth, rubbish calls, rubbish screen, rubbish slide, rubbish design, decides when you can save things & when you can't, when it decides you can save a number, picture, video, note, message, it will probably decide to delete them by itself. It even deleted its own filing system, I can no longer access the media files!

How absolutely rubbish is this phone? 100% buy another phone. Complete & utter waste of money. (I have had this phone for about 2 months now & have to go get every ones number off facebook or face to face now). Happy shopping!

I got this phone about 3 months ago & it works fine, it doesn't have that much charge but if you put it on overnight it will last a whole day. It is very easy to use & it is my third phone I have had & I recommend it for younger people as it comes in a really cool variety of colours & has all of the perfect features like a music player a camera a few games, & very clear pictures to show you what's what. It also has an alarm a torch a calendar, a timer, stopwatch, a calculator & a voice recorder. It also has quite a lot of different themes, ringtones & it also has Bluetooth. I really like this phone it's not very high tech it's more simple but it a very attractive looking phone, but it is my favourite phone I have had so far & I love it.

I was more than happy with my old W200i but sadly this old fella wouldn't charge anymore, so had to replace it.

Enter the W205, what rubbish! With being on T mobile pay as you go, T moblie didn't support anything for this phone all you can do is make calls. No one would take any responsibility for the phones problems, eventually Carphone Warehouse where I bought the phone, accepted there was a problem & gave me a refund.

Enter stage left the W395 this works just as well the old W200i but better.

This is without a doubt the worst phone ever. I have had the misfortune to have two. The battery would not hold a charge on the first phone & within 2 weeks stopped working due to battery malfunction. It was replaced with the same model which came with the same problem. I charged the phone over night, next morning fully charged battery, two hours later flat battery, thought it might be the slide mechanism but no. Fully charged battery at night time, get up the next morning phone not used, flat battery. I bought this phone at a time when my mother was in one hospital in intensive care & my husband in a hospital 2 hours away hospital having life threatening surgery, I desperately needed a reliable phone. This was not it; I had to borrow a phone. I have either made or received a call on this phone & 5 weeks after receiving it, I must get rid of a brand new unused, unreliable phone.

I regret having this phone. After 1 week it starts going awfully slow! It keeps deleting my texts & saying no receipt on the texts or saying it's completely empty. When I am texting & someone then calls me, it automatically cuts them off! People tell me they've text me or called me & I tell them I've had no response at all on my phone. I then get texts 1 hour late.

Also it keeps telling me that I have too many messages in my inbox when I haven't & I delete like a lot of them & then 5 minutes later the message comes up again. When I get a long text it cuts the text in half & it take weeks to get the other half of the message.

All in all, this phone is awful!

I won't say this phone is pure rubbish, but it goes pretty far down that path. There is really no feature of this phone that hasn't got something wrong with it (ex: FM radio, yes it works, yes, it's loud! No, it picks up nothing unless you're essentially standing next to the radio transmitting tower, & you can't use it without headset, so forget about listening to the radio in the park. Another example: when you receive a text, the ringtone goes off, & it says on the screen 'message received from' & then scrolls down to the name, however, just before you get to the name to decide 'I'll read now', or 'it can wait', the screen goes dark, so you're forced to unlock, then scroll down to the inbox.) Little things like that add up, it's like it was designed to drive you mad.

Got this after growing weary of mates niggling me for owning a dinosaur Motorola C136 & due to better finances said why not. I should have listened to the bells going off when I bought it (about 65GBP), it was already loaded with an inbox full of Ukrainian Christmas greetings to I assume the previous owner, although this is at a major electronics store in Prague which only sells new merchandise. We're going back there today with the missus & won't leave after I get another phone. I am not a big technology person, but the three reasons I bought this thing were to be able to connect to the Internet, sorry, download music, no, sorry again, & be able to listen to the radio, no no no, sorry again. The build quality is also rubbish, the thing creaks when you open it. When you text, it creaks & hesitates when the letters are pressed, texting takes a lot longer to just get out a quick one. It also shuts down & sends empty emails, & needs to be charged every 12 hours.

I had a Sony Ericsson a few years ago, was really nice, no more Sony Ericsson, at least not before reading reviews! & what's with EVERY mobile in the world being made in China?

Quite simply the worst phone I've ever had. My previous phone was the Sony Ericsson W200i, great little phone but the cursor button worn away & couldn't text or do anything, so I bought this as an upgrade. BIG MISTAKE. To say it's an upgrade is a joke, it's a definite step backwards. The handset freezes when you try to use different applications, sometimes as long as 10 seconds before it does anything, it does not let me access my memory card which has hundreds of photos & videos on, texting is very difficult when it puts stupid long words before the small one that you want to use on predictive texts & the music player is not as easy to use as the old W200i either.

All in all I am very disappointed with this phone & will be putting it on eBay being as the Orange shop refuse to let me exchange it!

I feel this device is pretty cool. I have never ever expected to find myself such a cool gadget at 5000 bucks n surprisingly it had a M2 with it! (so no additional expense on memory stick). As music was my first priority, I can say that w205 has lived up to my expectation, the music quality is just awesome, specially through headphone.

N-Series & at such a low price range. I am using it for the last 4 months & I am quite content with it.

Sony Ericsson rocks!

Bit basic but adequate for occasional use but probably wouldn't recommend it for those who do a lot of texting. If you notice the phone memory heading downwards in an apparent spiral then hook it up to the PC & you could delete the file NexPlo.nmd in the music database folder. This will reset all playlists so these will have to be re entered but will not affect other settings. Might need to format the memory card & reload the music too if the music playing is messed up.

I love this phone it is easy & nice to use, but the only bad thing about it is the camera 1.3 megapixel but it doesn't matter, least it has a FM radio, it is loud, it has Bluetooth & it is a walkman. I am so happy & the people who said this phone is rubbish, its not, I recommend this phone, one of the best phones.

As an older person getting my first phone for occasional use I was not expecting too much from a phone this cheap but when I got to grips with how it operated I was quite pleased overall. I required a small basic phone that had an MP3 player & radio so the camera was just an extra along with some of the other features. I found it quite easy to find freebies with which to customise it & the options to increase memory & enable USB transfer of my music was quite easy & low cost. Sound quality is adequate for such a small & cheap phone & apart from the battery life which does appear quite low it performs quite well. I have not been able to use WMA files unlike a few reviews but I have been able to convert these quite easily to MP3's so no problem there. Basically you get what you pay for & if it continues to work I will not be disappointed.

What can I say, absolute rubbish! I literally received my phone about an hour ago, switched it on that was fine then 5 minutes later the screen went white & after a few attempts to switch it on/off again still no joy.

First impressions of this phone is that it is quite hollow! I think if you were to accidentally drop it on a hard surface it would snap into two!

I didn't really get to see many of the features as the screen went white but I did manage to Bluetooth two pictures to it from my old phone & when I tried to transfer one song for my ringtone it said memory was full! So I guess you'd be best to buy a memory card to go with it!

So I am now waiting to receive my faulty phone documentation from dial a phone & I am going to attempt to get it resolved, I think it's really bad that after 5 minutes of using the phone it breaks!

NOT VERY GOOD AT ALL :(.

Phone frustrates me when I have to slide it open. Bought it because it was cheap & good value for money but does not reach my expectations. I hate it that you can't use it as a modem. The masterpiece is that IT SHOWS CONTACT NAMES BUT NOT the NUMBERS, I have never been this disappointed about Sony brand before because my two previous phones were K750i & W810i now a rubbish W205 is not performing. Disappointed Michael Zongile Keke (South Africa).

I wanted a cheap, no frill phone that could play mp3s.

The W205 seems a little flimsy when sliding but the design is OK. For what you pay, the features are OK.

The MP3 player is pretty decent, it can make texts & calls, but the camera is a bit hopeless. Don't get this if you want to be taking a lot of photos.

I am not bothered that there are few themes, but there are only a small number of ring tones, all of them quiet & none of them phone like. I had to download some free ones. Same for text alarms.

The profiles feature seems useless as you can't have a different ring tone for each profile, just change the volume.

It doesn't come with a data transfer cable but I bought a 2G memory card & a little USB gadget (£1.60) that it slots into so I can transfer music in seconds, don't waste your time trying to do it Bluetooth.

This is my third mobile & this is the best, I didn't really have any problems, it's not slow, so I don't know what those people were talking about. In the phone there is camera but this camera has frames, brightness. My brother bought a new blackberry curve very good phone, you can't have any brightness on that mobile or frames, there is everything in that phone that a person would need.

An overall good phone but with a very short battery life lets it down. The radio is decent the Walkman is good another letdown is the memory, you can only expand it by 2GB.

The camera could do with being a 2MP instead of 1.3MP. It also has TrackID & opera mini.

The phone is sleek & stylish, for the price it's good. But the predictive text really spoils the operation of sending a text, it keeps putting words were you don't want them, so you have to keep going back over your text. Texting takes twice as long as it should, I have tried to turn predictive text off completely but it won't seem to do it.

Why do manufacturers still try to ram predictive text down your neck, not everyone wants it.

Great phone, stylish, & all I can see from the other reviews everyone is totally wrong! I love it, only thing is that it is slow, & can be quite annoying. As it is quite a newish phone there is a reason for there being not many themes or games. CAMERA ISN'T GREAT BUT IF PRINTED OFF IT LOOKS ACCEPTABLE, NOT BRILLIANT, BUT GOOD FOR INSTANT PHOTOS ON the SPOT.

Great phone, I love it. I got mine in September, & it hasn't gone wrong at all.

Great value as well.

Worse phone used in my life! It is so slow! Buttons are not easy to use & 80% of the time when texting if I make a mistake & try to press back space it will automatically jump to the last full stop (for some unknown reason). Also when using predictive text it is always trying to double guess you & you will try to type 'I am' & it could but the 10th word down! After ridiculous things like 'monmouth', do not ask me why that comes up before a two letter word!

All in all I could rant for ages about everything that is wrong with this phone DO NOT BUY! Can't even do basic things accurately & definately not quickly!

Well it's pretty (white & Orange) but that's about it. It doesn't come with many themes, ring tones, games or memory (unless you buy the memory stick extra). The camera is dark & fuzzy. It's almost impossible to text (have to use the edge of my nail) because the keys are so small. I haven't been able to listen to music because mine didn't come with the USB cable to transfer songs from the computer (again have to buy it extra for £12). I tried to download extras from the Sony Ericsson site & my phone wasn't even listed as compatible.

Brilliant phone, just got it today. Loads of amazing things packed into it, like TrackID, all for £40.

I have a few issues though.

- The slider is loose, & when you're talking, it slips down.
- Start up takes up to 30 seconds sometimes.
- Camera is blurry & dark.
- Themes are terrible & the same with ringtones & message alerts.
- But most importantly, NO FREE GAMES!

Other than that, this is a real bargain! (Sorry if I made it sound terrible. It's not, honestly).
