Our Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro Review

Overview
The Vivaz Pro is an amazing touch screen slide opening Smartphone which has been designed by Sony Ericsson with high quality & high definition video features. This great looking phone comes with an outstanding touch screen display which allows the user to view high quality videos on the move. It has a user friendly slide out keyboard which gives this handset its slider form, as well as supporting a large touch screen which provides touch screen controls when the handset is in its slide closed position. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro is from the same family as the Sony Ericsson Vivaz but the Pro version supports an additional slide out QWERTY keyboard, has a slightly larger size casing & comes with a lower megapixel camera feature, but both of these Sony Ericsson phones focus on their HD video capabilities & easy communication features. The Vivaz Pro comes with a Symbian™ operating system complete with an intuitive touch user interface. Its main features include its slide out keyboard, 5 megapixel camera, high quality media features complete with TV out support, Internet access with a Google™ search & social network compatibilities, WiFi® connectivity & so much more.

Appearance & Size
The Vivaz Pro comes with smooth ach shaped edges & has a truly amazing looking casing. This handset knows how to get noticed in a crowd & its subtle ach design makes it an easy handset to hold when in use. The front section of the casing is taken up by the 3.2 inch touch screen which almost fills the front view of this handset. The screen provides an outstanding viewing experience when the user is viewing videos, movies, pictures or simply just viewing the stylish touch interface. This touch screen measures 3.2 inch from corner to corner & provides a 16 million colour HD viewing experience. The screen supports an automatic rotation feature which allows the user to turn their handset & the screen display will respond automatically. There are slim call keys situated below the touch screen which are neatly built into the overall casing design which makes them discrete, although these keys stand out in a silver colour finish & are large enough for ease of use. On the right hand side of the casing are the camera keys, which are well positioned allowing the user to capture photos & record videos when their Vivaz Pro is in its horizontal position. The slide out full QWERTY keyboard has good sized individual keys which make text entry a pleasure for the user, plus its slide out action is smooth & slides out of the left hand side of the casing. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro weighs 117 grams including its battery & its overall dimensions when in its closed position are 10.9cm by 5.2cm by 1.5cm.


Imaging, Media & Entertainment
The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro truly shines in performance when it comes to its built in media & imaging features. The Vivaz Pro comes with high quality video recording capabilities complete with a video light providing light when the user is in duller surroundings. It's built in video playback capabilities allow the user to view videos & movies on their phone complete with a high definition viewing experience. The user can stream video on the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro & organise their videos which can be stored on their phones memory. This phone supports a Media Go™ entertainment organiser which allows the user to use a drag & drop method when transferring video or music files between their computer & phone. The Vivaz Pro has a rear facing 5 megapixel camera lens which comes with a huge selection of imaging feature which means the user can capture the perfect photo on their phone. There is a 4 times digital zoom feature, photo flash light, face detection feature, smile detection option, an automatic focus & an image stabiliser. The user can also use a photo geo tagging feature which stores information on where the photo was actually taken, thanks to the phones integrated aGPS support. This 5 megapixel camera also supports 3G video calling which allows the user to have a video style call with other video calling contacts. A fully charged battery provides up to two & a half hours of video calling time for the user to enjoy a face to face video call. When it comes to music entertainment, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro won't let you down, it comes with a user friendly FM radio feature & an integrated music player complete with album art display & a selection of easy to manage music playback options.

Communication & Messaging
The main purpose of any mobile phone is to allow its user to communicate with others & to provide a selection of reliable communication features. The Vivaz Pro comes with easy to use call & messaging features which allows its user to communicate using the best possible method of communication to suit their communication needs. The user can take a call over the phones speakers leaving the user hands free whilst on a call. The user may wish to access their recently received calls which will be stored in the call log, or simply call a contact from their phone book. The Vivaz Pro also supports a text message & multimedia message service which allows the user to share a quick text only message with others or a media style message depending on the users needs. This phone supports a large selection of messaging communication features & comes with a user friendly conversation style message display. When the user is online they can enjoy communicating with others that are online using the instant messaging service. The user may prefer to communicate via email & that is possible on the Vivaz Pro as it comes with an email service complete with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync® for direct email support. The user can enjoy a handwriting recognition feature which allows the user to use touch controls by drawing characters on the touch screen.

Technology & Internet
This stylish slider phone comes with seventy two megabytes of built in memory & it has an expandable memory card slot which can hold up to sixteen gigabytes of external MicroSD™ memory. Its Internet capabilities allow the user to browse the Web & enjoy a fun mobile Internet experience complete with a Google™ search facility with YouTube™ & Twitter™ compatibility. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro also comes with a built in Facebook™ application which allows the user to access this popular social network website to update their status or simply to stay in contact with their friends. It comes with aGPS navigation support complete with Google Maps™ & Wisepilot™ navigation. The user can find new locations & get turn by turn directions to their chosen destination using this aGPS feature. The Vivaz Pro supports WiFi® which allows the user to gain WiFi® connectivity when accessing the Internet. It's built in 3G HSDPA & HSUPA capabilities allow the user to gain fast connectivity on their phone as well as enjoying features such as 3G video calling. The phone works over a GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 & 3G HSDPA networks 900 & 2100. The battery provided with the Vivaz Pro provides approximately 12.5 hours talk time on a 2G GSM network or 5.3 hours talk time on a 3G HDDPA network, but this may vary depending on the features being used during this time. This handset can be connected to other devices when the user wishes to transfer data & the user can use either a micro USB connection or a Bluetooth® wireless connection to connect the two compatible devices. When transferring data between devices the user will gain high speed data transfer rates thanks to the built in EDGE & GPRS technology.
