Our Sony Ericsson T715 Review

The Sony Ericsson T715 is an elegant slide opening 3G phone which comes in either a rouge pink coloured casing or a galaxy silver coloured casing. This handset is compact due to its slide action opening system which measures 9.15cm in height, 4.8cm in width & 1.29cm in depth. The T715 weighs 96.5 grams in total including the rechargeable battery. It is a handset from the Sony Ericsson T range which includes other handsets such as the Sony Ericsson T700 & the Sony Ericsson T707. The Sony Ericsson T715 comes with ninety megabytes of internal memory & this handset supports an expandable memory card slot which allows the user to add & insert a MicroSD™ type Memory card to further this handsets memory capacity. The T715 has a 2.2 Inch colour screen which has a 262k colour display & a screen resolution of 240 pixels by 320 pixels. The user can view the colour screen when the handset is in its slide open or slide close position. This phone has a user friendly keypad which is accessed by the user sliding their handset to its open position & this keypad has individual keys for easy numeric & letter input.

A built in Access NetFront™ Internet browser allows the user to access the World Wide Web, & enjoy Web feeds on their handset. The user can enjoy access popular sites such as YouTube™ which allows the user to view video clips for entertainment. The Sony Ericsson T715 supports a Google™ search & the user can use the Google™ maps function to find out directions. When the user wishes to communicate without making a call, then the built in messaging service will be a useful feature for the user. An instant messaging service allows the user to enjoy text communication in an instant with others that are online. The instant messaging service on the T715 works like an instant messaging service on the user's computer or laptop but this service is a mobile service. The user can enjoy communicate with others via the built in SMS messaging service which allows the user to share messages containing text between friends. This handset comes with a predictive text input method which will assist the user when creating messages containing text. A MMS messaging service allows the user to attach a photo or a video clip complete with text & sound all in one easy to create message. An email feature supports an Exchange ActiveSync® email service allowing the user to communicate with other with an email address. This Sony Ericsson T715 supports an AccuWeather.com® feature which allows the user to enjoy weather updates directly to their mobile phone.

The T715 supports Java™ games & the user can enjoy a 3D gaming experience on their phone. The user can transfer & download ringing tones which are in popular formats such as polyphonic sound, MP3 & AAC format. A built in FM radio feature allows the user to tune into their preferred radio stations to catch up on the latest music, news, weather & sporting commentaries on their T715. This radio feature supports an RDS feature which allows the user to view text on their screen which is provided by the users chosen radio station. A built in music player supports many music feature which allow the user to gain the best possible music from their 3G phone. Its music features include a MegaBass™ bass frequency feature, TrackID™ music recognition feature, PlayNow™ ringing tone download feature & a Bluetooth® stereo A2DP connectivity via a set of compatible headphones. The user can enjoy viewing their music selections on their screen & view album cover artwork on their screen.

The Sony Ericsson T715 works over a 3G UMTS 2100 network & a quad band GSM network which covers GSM 850, 900, 1800 & 1900. This handset built in 3G HSDPA technology allows the user to enjoy downloading large files at high speeds & the user can enjoy broadband speed on their handset. It supports Bluetooth® technology which allows the user to connect to other compatible Bluetooth® devices using a wireless connection between the devices when the user is transferring data between the two devices. A USB connection port allows the user to connect a USB cable to their phone & the other end of the cable can be connected to other compatible devices, allowing the user to transfer data between devices via a cabled connection. The rechargeable battery can provide the user with up to ten hours of GSM talk time or up to four hours of 3G talk time from a fully charged battery. The Sony Ericsson T715 supports EDGE technology & GPRS which allows the user t enjoy fast rate data transfers on their phone. The user can enjoy printing via a PictBridge printing connection which allows the user to print directly from their phone.

Its built in 3.2 megapixel camera comes with a 3.2 times digital zoom feature which allows the user to zoom in & out at their subject to gain the best possible picture on their mobile phone. This camera feature supports high quality video recording capabilities & an automatic focus feature which will ensure a well focused photo is captured. The camera has a photo fix feature which will fix the picture taken & provide the user with a high quality end result. This phone supports a geo tagging feature thanks to the integrated GPRS technology & the user can enjoy picture blogging on the T715. The Sony Ericsson T715 supports video capabilities which include 3G video calling, video playing, video recording & video blogging. Nice looking mobile but has no auto focus within camera so picture quality is bad. Spend a little extra & get one with auto focus, makes all the difference.

Hi, The phone is good looking & also very handy due to its size but when connected to the PC via cable. The computer fails to recognise the connect phone so it becomes difficult to transfer files due to insufficient phone memory.

This is a nice little phone. I have it in grey & just got it for my son in galaxy silver. The grey has a mirrored screen which the silver does not. It makes the phone stand out more. My son is not so happy. Also the silver has a pink light around the navigation keys & button. Just check out the difference before you buy. Good apps & good little MP3 player. The earphones are a letdown. Had to buy inner earphones as I cannot stand the cheap ones they but in the box. I have had Sony Ericsson's before & always found that the cameras were OK. Even on my last w910i I could zoom & it was only a 2MP camera! This does not let you do this only in VGA mode. Lets the phone down but I can live with it. Apart for that I like this phone its smaller than normal easy to use (Sony Ericsson never seem to change much about the layout of their phones) looks more than it cost, solid looking, but if you're looking for a good all rounder camera MP3 etc this is not it.

Had this phone for 3 month after my K850i & is really a good looking phone, perfect size, kind of basic features, comes from 3 with free Skype. The first problem was the quality of the calls, the sound was really bad but I decided to live with it, but then the screen started going blank (but you can still make calls) & you will have to wait for few minutes to use the phone again, looks like something wrong with the software.

I wouldn't recommend this phone, even if the software to be fixed, the calls quality is really bad.

Got this phone as an upgrade but found it to be very basic & very poor signal reception for example my LG saves full signal the T715 says low signal so something wrong there, video playback is good & the sound is very loud thanks to a great speaker, it has push email built in so that's a bonus & email is easy to set up, the unit feels & looks cheap & the back cover is made from soft metal which dents easily that's about it for now.
