Samsung Z540 3G Phone Review

The Samsung Z540 is an ultra slim 3G mobile phone which is only 14.9 mm thick. The handset comes in a sleek black colour & has a highly tactile textured finish. The phone can be opening & closed easily with a flip action opening mechanism which makes the handset even more compact & user friendly. The handset weighs 105 grams & is easy to carry around when the user is on the move. The Z540 comes from the Z range designed by Samsung which includes the Samsung Z140, Samsung Z500 & the Samsung Z510 which are all 3G mobile phones with a flip opening mechanism. The Samsung Z540 is also know as the Samsung SGH Z540.

The Z540 comes with an useful external screen with provides the user with direct access information on the time, signal strength, battery status & who is trying to call them. The external display provides the user with a TFT LCD screen which displays 65k colours & has a 128 x 128 pixel screen resolution. The large internal screen is a QVGA type display which provides a 262k colour display & has a screen resolution of 240 x 320 pixels

The phone comes with 140 Mbytes of shared memory which allows the user to save all their photos, video recordings, music files, contacts details & messages. The 3G technology brings technology at its finest to the Samsung Z540 & allows the user to enjoy functions such as video calling, video message & video streaming. The phones comes with Bluetooth® & USB connectivity which allows the user to connect to either Bluetooth® compatible devices wirelessly or to USB compatible devices using the USB cable provided. The phone works on a tri band network which will switch between GSM bands automatically & bring the user the best network band possible. The user can gain access to the Internet with the use of the WAP browser on the Z540 which is easily accessible via the menu system & will provide the user with a fun Internet experience.

The user can snap away all day long with the built in camera feature which is a 1.3 megapixel camera with 4 x digital zoom & some affective camera effects. The user can capture all their friends as a still phone & either send them to other contacts, save them on the Z540, print them or use them to create a photo caller ID. The photo caller ID feature brings an element of fun to the users phone book as the user can add a photo to any contact in their phone book & the photo selected will be displayed each time that contact calls. The phone comes with a video recorder which can record video in MPEG4 video format & a video player which can play video in either (3GP, MPEG4 or Real One format. The video recorder provide the user with the ability to capture magic moments in action rather than as a still photo & the user can then send the video recordings to other contacts or save them on the phones memory. The Samsung Z540 comes with a video streaming function which is all possible due to the phone having 3G technology & allows the user to watch the latest films via the Internet on their Z540. The phone comes with a second camera which is a VGA type camera & it is used for self portrait photos & video calling which allows the user to see who they are talking to in real time & adds the ultimate real feel to a call.

The music player comes with high quality sound & performance & the music controls are quick to access. The phone has easy access keys externally situation on the handset which are called music hot keys & make life that little bit easier for the user of the Z540. The music player will make sure that the user has their favourite tunes with them when they are on the move. The music player supports most popular music playing formats. The phone comes with embedded ringtones or the user can download ringtones to suit their taste in music.

The phone comes with SMS text messaging, MMS multimedia messaging & email. The user can send a quick & simple SMS message to family & friends which can be assisted by using predictive text option. The MMS message can contain text & sound with either a photo or video recording. The MMS message can be created quickly & sent to any MMS compatible phone user. The email service allows the user to send & receive emails on their Samsung Z540 which is extremely useful when the user is on the move. The user can send vCards & vCalendar from their phone which is a useful & efficient feature.

The phone book is easy to access & the user will find it easy to manage. The user can add, amend & delete contacts names & numbers from the phone book. The calendar & scheduler functions allow the user to set reminders & keep a track on what is going on each month. The Z540 comes with all the time functions that the user could possible need which includes a clock, world time & an alarm. The user will find that the to do list will come in handy for making shopping lists & leaving notes for themself. The calculator & currency converter are useful when the user is on their travels & need to make sure they are not over spending. The phone comes with calling functions which include a call timer, call diverting, call barring & call waiting.

Good phone go for it believe me man this phone is really worth it. I am being honest. The speakers are so loud on it & it's also got good graphics I think I got it on Vodafone, it froze a couple of months ago I wish I knew how to unlock it also & how to unfreeze it as well.

Good luck! On the phone if you get it & it's got a bright keypad light also & the phone is also very slim as well TRUST ME!

This phone is without a doubt the best phone I ever had. The rest of my family tries to show off with their 'newer phones' (like a d900, an e200), but they are still nothing compared to this one. Everything rocks, its very masculine, loud MP3, cool features.

I have had this phone for about 12 months, it's really reliable, sleek & easy to use! I find the keypad & buttons cool & funky. One design fault (the reason 90% not 95%) This is a flip phone so the camera is at the top & when you open it the strap sometimes gets in the way of the camera. But that's not a real big problem.

Synopsis; this is a very good all rounder phone!

Z540 offers me all I want from a phone, dual colour screens, flip open casing, 1.3 mp camera with zoom, videoing, video messaging, video calling, & that is for starters. Samsung have served up a third generation (3G) phone & Bluetooth, tri band, USB cable with a music player for dessert. Scrummy phone me thinks.

Neat mobile phone & the size is great only 105g & 14.9 super slim phone. 3G flip phone is what I am looking for but this one stands out from the crowd in looks but I would of liked Edge with it.
