The best feature about this phone is the camera & camera features, top quality photos & editing features! The worst thing is the touch pad, you can change the sensitivity but you have to press the icon dead on otherwise you select the wrong thing. The music player sounds great too. It could do with more features like Skype.

Recommend this phone as a good all rounder :-).

I got my phone in October 2008 after been given rave reviews by the sales girl in O2. Have to agree with the other phone review from Bradford. Maybe we got them from the same shop! The metal has flaked off all over the front despite having a rubber cover on. Also I too lost the centre square control which just fell off. Luckily it got caught in the rubber case & I managed to super glue it back on. But not such a good looking phone now.

Do like the slim design but definitely needs a rethink on case material. Battery life good, caller id picture just rubbish need magnifying glass to see it. Don't buy unless you want to keep it in its box & just look at it that way nothing will fall off. I have had numerous Samsung's before maybe just bad design this time.

At first I was disappointed about its poor themes but when I found out it has a theme editor I loved it so much. I love everything about it! But its video quality is rubbish but I realized that it doesn't matter because what's important is the picture quality. IMO one of the best phones!

POSITIVELY the WORST HANDSET I HAVE HAD TO DATE. The PHONE LOOKS OK, NOTHING SPECIAL THOUGH. IT IS VERY SLOW TO RESPOND, & the KEY LOCK QUITE OFTEN TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO UNLOCK. The TEXT IS SO SMALL I defy anyone TO READ IT EASILY. CAN ONLY SET CALLER IMAGES TO NUMBERS STORED ON the SIM & THEN THEY ARE REDUCED TO SUCH A SMALL SIZE YOU can't SEE the PICTURE ANYWAY! FUN IMAGES (SMILEY FACES ETC.) SENT IN TEXTS ARE NOT DISPLAYED, THEY SHOW IN CHARACTER FORMAT. & I can't WORK OUT HOW TO ADD EMOTICONS ETC TO text MESSAGES, ALL the IMAGES ARE IN the PICTURE EDITOR BUT can't BE ADDED TO ANYTHING OTHER THAN A PHOTO. Don't WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Good phone! Nice & sophisticated design.

Slim & handy at the same time. I really love this phone. Not because of its design but also because of its other features. Like the 1GB internal memory, its 3megapixel cam with LED bulb. Aside from its very affordable price.

The only negative thing about it is with its speaker, which is a little bit behind compare to Nokia & Ericsson phone, in terms of loudness (but the sound quality are good). & also with the installation of java games & other application for this model.

But in overall. I really love this phone.

I bought this phone after reading numerous rave reviews which told me that this is as good-looking as the Nokia 6500 but is a much better phone.

Firstly, the U800 is not quite as stunning-looking as the 6500, but if this is classed as a better phone than the 6500 I dread to think how terrible the 6500 must be.

Firstly, the u800's build quality is very poor. The direction key started to become loose soon after I bought this & it fell off completely after a few months. The button in the centre of the direction key doesn't work at all & one of the number keys works less well than the others. The silver paint chips off the keypad very easily & the silver paint around the screen & the charger socket chips off even more easily. If you think this is a good looking phone, imagine how it will look when a couple of buttons have fallen off & there are scratches everywhere from where the paint's come off.

Added to this, there is no text message alert. The display flashes once when you receive the text, then goes back to standby. Despite trawling through the instructions, there doesn't seem to be a way of customising your settings so that you can set a ringtone for when a text arrives, or an alert which comes on every minute until you've read the text. The upshot of this is that you have to pick up your phone every so often & press a button to take it off standby in order to find out whether you've received a text. This is ANNOYING. There have been times when I have been sent a text & have only found out about it three hours later.

The phone's display is virtually impossible to read when you're outside on a sunny day, even when you turn the LCD brightness up to it's maximum setting.

This phone is a real backwards step from Samsung, considering that their old D500 was built like a tank & had none of the drawbacks described above.

Bog standard camera, bog standard camcorder. Good points are: Plenty of memory, good battery life for a slim phone, a nice feature where you can customise your phone's display to the most minute detail. Overall though, I am really disappointed. Maybe I've been sold a duff model or maybe this is an extremely overrated phone.

I got this phone for Christmas 2008 & I soon fell in love with it, have had many phones in the past from Sony Ericsson Nokia & Samsung before. I am very hard to please when it comes to phones! But with the U800 I was very happy this phone worked without a hitch until around late March when my mum accidentally washed the phone in jacket pocket! But after 4 days on the radiator with the battery out the screen colours had gone back to normal & the camera worked fine, however I didn't have any sound & the number 5 key didn't work over the next few weeks up until now nothing else happened but now the number 2 & 8 button aren't responsive, I realised how much I like this phone so I have ordered a new one from O2 let's just hope this one doesn't get washed, LOL!

This is the worse phone I have had. It was given on contract with Orange, I have had a few problems with it. The worse thing is the instruction manual is rubbish, it does not tell you how to use all the features, I emailed Samsung they just sent me the same one on line, on phoning them they said I should join the Samsung fun club for help, no point as it's no fun. The camera is too long winded & the video is a really small screen which is awkward to operate. Won't get a Samsung again.

I have had this phone for about 6 months now & love it. It looks as good as new & I have not experienced any problems with it whatsoever. The predictive text can be turned on & off by pressing & holding the star key & then it will toggle through the capitals, numbers etc, just by pressing the same key. The music player is excellent, although I do use different headphones as the ones that come with the phone are rubbish. I have not yet found a way to personalise my message alert tones but then my other Samsung would not let me do this either.

This phone is OK I have it in pink the design is nice but the music player isn't very good it isn't very loud at all & you can hardly hear it when it rings in noisy place. When you are in a place even with very high reception & your on the phone it always cuts out & it gets very annoying if I had the chance to buy a new phone this would never be taken into account it really really annoys me.

Hey, I've been reading some of your reviews, because I was thinking of getting this phone for my birthday, but I am kind of stuck on what to do now. As I am a teenager, the things I would like in a phone are the things like a good music player, high quality speakers, good camera etc. But after reading some of your reviews, I don't know what to do. Some of them say that the phone is brilliant, a must have. But then some others describe the phone as awful, quotes like, wish I'd never got it! & so on. So if anyone would like to give me some advice, it would be much appreciated!

Overall the handset is good but I work in a mobile phone dealership & I have seen too many of these come back falling to pieces. The navigation button falls off & the clips that hold the battery cover fall off.

I have heard though that Samsung are covering this under its warranty but at some point every consumer that's purchased this phone will experience this problem.

So overall good cheap phone but is build quality is not great.

I actually love this phone. I am not usually a lover of Samsung phones as I've had a few in the past that have been very basic, even some of the more expensive versions. I was wary about buying another Samsung product but after reading some of the reviews on other phones, this phone seemed to be quite decent.

I love the stylish silver design of the phone. I am quite a girly girl & I thought this may look like quite a masculine phone but it's very stylish.

The camera for a 3 mega pixel is great. The best I have seen so far from Samsung. The layout of the screen is similar to other Samsung phones quite basic but this works well as its not confusing like some other brands.

I like the photo editing features as this is something I have always wanted from a phone but never found a good version.

All in all I would highly recommend this phone as it does exactly what it says on the box, it's very stylish & has everything you need from a good camera phone. Very good quality.

I had a Sony W890i & early on it developed problems with dropping calls, changing my themes & switching itself off. I set about trying to get my phone exchanged. I read a lot of blurb on the latest phones out, touch screen this, touch screen that, great camera, great music player. The greater the phone becomes the more problems are likely to arise. I chose the Samsung based on its great reviews I am not disappointed. This phone is great it has a good camera with a reasonable LCD flash. The phone looks sharp & business like. The ring tones are lame but I am sure I can get some kicking tunes on soon. Battery life is OK as well.

OVERALL IT LOOKS LIKE A SLIM BABE KITTED OUT FOR A NIGHT ON the TOWN IN A SPARKLY DRESS. & TO TOP IT ALL OFF SHE HAS A GREAT PERSONALITY. GET THIS PHONE.

My first Samsung.

Great design features, does what it says on the tin, unfortunately.
The text size is the smallest I have ever seen on a phone, it can be adjusted when reading messages, but not when sending them & the screen, like most Samsungs apparently is terrible to read in daylight.

In summary a good phone if you have good vision, personally I can't wait for an upgrade.

This is the absolute best phone I have ever had & for me to say that people believe me this is a superior phone.

I've had all kinds of phones from Nokia's to LG'S. However I have not found a phone so far that competes with the technology on this phone.

I'll admit the user guide is basic however if you go onto Samsung website you can find further information & get FREE downloads.

The camera for 3.0M is way better than any of my other phones & the MP3 player is to die for (the sound quality is great).

Come on people Samsung already leads in the market when it comes to cameras, tv's, mps players.

The only problem I do have with this phone is I cannot work out how to turn off the predictive text, help me please someone & how to transfer my music from my memory card to a playlist, help me please someone.

I bought this phone mainly for texting. My previous phone was a very old Nokia 3310, however, the feel of my new phone's keypad is a lot less comfortable, & I have to perform a thumb contortion to input a space. My biggest gripe with the phone is that you can't access an apostrophe on the normal punctuation key, it's only available on a special character button, which takes a lot longer! Grammar fanatics, this phone is not for you!

I am not yet convinced by the camera, some of my photos have seemed a bit warped. However, the picture quality is good.

All other features seem fine so far, nice headphones included.

Never used a Samsung before & found the menus easy to navigate & found everything I needed.

Slim & pocket friendly. Construction is solid & the metal back & front give the phone a nice feel. Only had the phone for a few days but does seems prone to fine scratches.

Camera is fine at 3MP, it won't let you zoom in when you have it set to maximum resolution, apart from that, it manages to do a surprisingly good job, even low light with its LED flash.

The headphone & charging jack cover is quite fiddily to remove & lacks a 3.5mm jack for headphones, but they do give you an adapter which does the job.

I was considering this or the Nokia 6500 classic, very happy I went with the Samsung.

Dreadful phone! Wish I'd never got it! The instructions tell you so little about the phones functions you are constantly on the helpline!

The people on the helpline must have a more comprehensive set of instructions so why aren't they available to owners?

Mine has been returned as I have now been told it's faulty after phoning to find out how to turn on & off the speakerphone which it doesn't do! (Apparently you press the square button while connected! No mention of this in the handbook though! )

Tried to get it setup for email (again following helpdesk instructions as nothing in book! ) Not working either! I have got a really good contract deal from Orange so I think I'll just keep the new SIM & put it into my old Moto K1 & sell the Samsung rubbish. Don't waste your money on this phone, it looks nice, promises loads but fails to deliver!

Took delivery yesterday & wondering if I have made the right choice with a Samsung! The connector for the charger is so difficult to move off & I've got long nails. I have to use nail scissors to do it. Never had a Samsung before & I am not that impressed with its layout & choice of wallpapers etc. I don't like how long the pause is to get the keypad lock off. I am too impatient for that. Was going to change it to the Samsung U900 but not after reading the horror stories on this site & now hoping this model isn't going to encounter all the same problems. Perhaps it's a Samsung thing?

There are no free games! I loved my bubble soccer on my LG & Tetris. It's taken me an age to find my way to changing some of the simple features, the menus are a bit odd the way they go across the screen & down the screen on the same page.

I am disappointed not to be using my LG shine anymore, that was a great phone.
