I've had this little beauty for 1 month now. I can honestly say that it's great fun. It has a great screen & the colours are bright & vibrant. Bluetooth works well. The Bang & Olufsen speaker is very good. The memory limitations are not a concern for me. 70meg onboard is fine. The 3.2 megapixel camera is very good in daylight but poor at night. The U100 has no flash. Video quality is not too bad either & records audio as well. The MP3 player is superb. The sound is great through the headphones & the interface is pretty. I have fallen for this phone. It's not a smart phone & doesn't pretend to be. Its main purpose I think is as a night phone. You can take it out to a club or pub & you won't feel burdened by it. I keep it in the fold of my wallet & can't tell it's there. It's a cheap phone so grab one & enjoy its many advantages. Nice one Samsung.

Apart from all its advantages

- I found that text messages stored in sent box do not contain details of date & time of when the messages were sent.

- There is too little internal memory (only 70MB), given that no SD slot is present.

- Text messages cannot be input on the blind, due to its flashy keypad.

Comments are most welcomed.

Pros:

Stylish, extremely slim, decent camera, cool features I.e. Converter, games, timer, voice recorder.

Cons:

The sounds are very annoying & the first few seconds of your ringtone of an incoming call is quiet then gets to the normal loudness if you set it higher than volume one.

Super slim & light phone with a great display. Only slight let down is that it has a slightly dated look mainly around the navigation buttons & screen. Cold have made the screen deeper like the u700 & u600.

Its quite long & wide 11cm by 5cm. But because of its width it feels much better to hold & use in larger hands. Weigh is spot on too. Doesn't feel too light that it would snap or blow away but I have never felt a phone so light & thin as this one.

Keypad has a good responsive click-like feel & is completely flush with the front face of the phone. Lights up well too.

Menu is easy to navigate & the supplied software is a real bonus when dealing with files & contacts.

The Bang & Olufsen sound system is top notch, but fails to produce any bass response (like all mobiles). Surprisingly loud too for the thinness of the phone.

Camera & video is very good quality but has no flash feature or zoom!

Great phone, has a retro feel, yet the slimness will blow people away, great to hold, great to use. Just looks a bit 2005 going on 2020.

I think, it has a problem regarding handset when pairing with Bluetooth device, especially when it comes to Samsung WEP200. Its show some error with a message Service List not Found' then the pairing wouldn't establish. But its design & feature s is a thumbs up.

The technique of making such a slim model is very simple. First Samsung produces the phone of regular size & then they place it on the railway track & allow the train to run over it, bingo. The phone will be flattened to produce U100. Well done Samsung. LOL

Pretty cool skinny little phone. Wish it had a memory card. Love the screen & features. This is my 1st Samsung & I am pleased. Bought the YP-T98 MP3 too! Got to love shopping in Bangkok!

I design mobile phones & although I didn't have anything to do with the U100, I think it is the most well designed phone I've ever come across. I don't have one at the moment but when I get the chance I will definitely change to the U100! I just love it!

Awesome phone. The best looking phone I have ever seen, so thin you wouldn't know it was there. Good features for the size of the phone. A must buy!

How come there seems to be 2 versions of this phone? After looking at different photographs on different websites of this phone, the phone seems to differ. The middle directional key pad (sliver) seems to be bigger in some pictures of the phone & in others it seems to be smaller. Is one of them the proto type? Thanks.

Very nice phone indeed. I picked it up a few weeks ago. It is remarkably thin (duh!) & light. Still very useable.

Pros:
+ Very good battery life - certainly 2-3 days.

+ Brilliant display.

+ Very good earphones & MP3 player. USB port so option to connect other earphones as well.

+ Very good camera. Especially in daylight situations.

+ The vidcam is splendid with a maximum resolution of 352x288. Movies can take up the whole memory (effectively, up to 60megs). Note that initially the cam is set to 'limit files to MMS maximum' which stops the camcorder after 15 seconds & won't allow selecting the high-resolution.

+ Some nice themes & features, like multiple repeatable alarms, time-dependent keyboard lighting, location-based desktop themes etc.

Negs:
- No voice dialing. Since it is so small I was planning to have it in my wallet & just use a Bluetooth headset to call.

- In headset mode, speakers can't be switched on. Now I have to wear the headset in order to hear the phone ring. Silly. This kind of brings down the usability rating for me

Remarks:
- Keypad is good (enough) though slightly on the small side. Gives nice feedback, keys 'click' back a little.

- Due to it being so light, it is a bit tricky to make a stable photoshot.

Would like to haves (something has to give, 5.9 mm! But maybe in the next version?)

- FM radio
- SD card slot

Does it Work? Can it pick up a signal? Does the screen crack too easily? Can you hear the ringtone? It has to be the way to go, light & thin. Please work.

Looks good & packs in a lot of features - 3 megapixel camera, Bang & Olufsen digital amp speakers, 5.9mm thick. The keypad looks a bit squashed but that's what you get for 5.9mm thick phone.

I wonder how much it will be in shops? Might buy one.
