I've had this phone for just over 2 years & it is really good. But I don't like the camera (its rubbish) & the touch sensitive pads are cool but so annoying, as I call people by accident & I exit calls by mistake!

Other than this I love my phone, & I would recommend it to anyone.

This phone has caused me nothing but heartbreak. When my phone rings in public, I cannot answer it due to the shame of being seen with it. This problem becomes especially prevalent when I am with certain friends who have lovely Sony Ericsson handsets.

I am SICK of feeling inferior. I hate this phone. If you care about your social standing, under no circumstance, buy this phone.

I had this phone for 3 years. It was amazing. There was never one complaint until I dropped it & the screen cracked.

I am currently a user of the iPhone 3GS & would buy this over it any day I love it. The design is good & the size is very compact unlike the iPhone definitely buy it if you like a good phone that will last you a long time & it is well worth your money.

I have had this phone since March 2008 & it is just over 2 years old now! I got this phone because it was only £59.99 & I haven't had any problems with it. I am very careful with my processions so I don't usually drop it, the only problem I have had with this phone is that you have to turn it on & off around 10 times for the music player to work. Mine has just started to break down, so it's very frustrating turning it on & off so many times, also the connectors in the charging area had broken internally so I had to do some poking around & now I can charge the phone but I have to hold it in place for as long as can be in for! Also the charging is lacking, I used to be able to charge it only once a week & it would be fine all week, now it's nearly every 2 days. I know it is over 2 years old but I have had my camera for 3 & half years & that has just started to break (the shutter is broken so I am trying to fix it!) I would recommend this phone, but to be honest I don't think you would buy it now as it is so old :) thanks for reading! X.

Have had this phone for nearly two years now, maybe changing soon as will do something strange things recently I.e. Screen will flicker for no apparent reason, have had letters on a text I had written appear backwards. Not sure if simply new battery needed, may investigate.

The camera is disappointing. The basic VGA I upgraded from appeared to have a better picture quality when just viewing the photographs.

It irritated me originally that there did not appear to be an automatic saving of your sent messages. Has I've found out you can choose to save each text you do. When you have composed your text, then press options in the bottom left hand corner & you can then choose to save & send that text.

My old basic Samsung had really good feature with the reminders if you wanted to rearrange the date the calendar would appear in the reminder, this is irritating that you have to come right out of the reminder you are setting to view the calendar.

The manual was woefully lacking in information, think I had to try & look on line for some really basic information.

Overall like my phone, its sleek design, the touch buttons were a nightmare at first, did keep calling the first person in my phone book initially. Then someone suggested that A in your phone book should be a made up number & then it would not disturb anyone, which has worked for me. Regarding last numbers dialled being called, initially I deleted & then once got used to the sensitive buttons, generally fine.

I purchased this phone & I was very excited to get it, but it was a big disappointment.

When using the navigation key, my finger would slightly touch the soft touch key & it would exit from what I was doing.

This phone is very limiting when it comes to customizing. For example, unlike other phones that I have used which allows you to choose a ringtone for all types of phone calls, text messages, & voicemail. However, for messages, you have to choose from the four tones that they have selected for you.

Another thing that is very odd is I cannot add contacts to the phone, & I have to add it to the SIM card. If anyone knows how to fix this problem, please let me know.

For shortcuts (on each navigation key), the choice is very limiting, as to what you can assign as your shortcut.

Also, when the phone rings, for about a 2 seconds, the phone rings like as if it were in a whisper mode, & then rings loudly.

The radio doesn't work very well, but I didn't purchase this phone to listen to the radio, so that doesn't really matter to me.

I don't know if much of these problems are due to receiving a faulty phone, but nonetheless, it was very disappointing purchase.

P.S. For the person below me who commented, if you want your sent message to show up on your sent box, you have to select save & send, & not choose send only.

The phone has an elegant design & is quite an eye catcher. This was my first phone for my birthday & I immediately got used to the touch buttons & Bluetooth capabilities that were very good. The camera is rubbish, but the effects are still quite OK. The memory is like thrash so I would buy my own memory card for it, but I still like it & is definitely worth giving to a younger user as a first phone, £49.99 I bought it for. But it will probably only last three years. So don't give it to a fussy kid!

The J600 is a really good phone, so far it's been very reliable, it's a pretty & the touch buttons are a good feature the only negative point I would like to make is the camera, only 1.3 Megapixel, not very good!

However, if that doesn't bother you, the J600 is a very very good buy & I would recommend it to anybody! :).

The Samsung J600 is really user friendly & I found it amazing from the day I got it, way back in 2007. I have had it three years & have never had a fault with it until recently, when it keeps freezing & the whole phone becomes non responsive for a few minutes, before it switches itself off & the back on again. However, apart from that this phone has been amazing & I have never had a problem with the touch screen buttons before the whole freezing thing started (after three years of faultless phone!) I would definitely recommend this phone to anybody, especially first time phone buyers.

I have had this phone for a year now & it's quite good apart from the rubbish camera (1.3MP) & you can't choose your own text tone you have to choose the ones that are already on the phone, it doesn't lock either so you could ring someone without knowing, I would recommend this to people who don't take pictures a lot & people who don't carry their phone in their pocket.

Hope you take my advice into consideration x :).

I have had this phone nearly a year now & I have no problem with it. It has good battery life, mine lasts nearly a week before I have to charge it again. But the main problems for this phone are the camera as it's not very good, the memory unless you put your own memory card inside. The biggest problem for me is the sensitive touch buttons as it rings people suddenly at the touch of a button when its opened up & also goes to web browser.

But if you don't have a problem with that then the phone is perfect for you.

I think this phone would be great for people who don't really use camera, music & who don't need a lot of memory. I have it for over a year now, & I really want a new phone, because its rubbish compared to the phones my friends have!

Its a great design, but although it has everything, you can't listen to music &do something else on it at the same time & also the ringtone can't be vibration with sound at the same time, & those little stuff, so thats why I am giving features only 65%.

The usability is 80% because I have still got it now & its over a year & I lose & break phones quickly, but its still working right now after dropping it about a million times & the phone getting drenched too! Though it freezes sometimes & the camera is RUBBISH x.

OK bye!

After about a year of having this phone, I dropped it on my carpet. After a couple of hours I returned to my phone to find that a few of my keypad buttons were not working. After a couple of days my touch screen started acting weird too. When I would slide my phone down the touch screen would work, & when I slid it back up again it wouldn't work. Lovely, funny to look at & touch, also a nice one to be seen with, even if the pink version was a bit dull. I had it for about a month then after I dropped it on my bedroom floor (once) which was carpet may I add, I placed it on my bed & it worked fine. I figured if I left it there I couldn't drop it for a while.

I went back a couple of hours later & the screen had bled into itself & was a black & white MESS after one silly drop. My old Sony withstood a lot more & didnt even scratch. Put me off samsung for life. Especially ringtone wise seeing as I couldn't even put my own decent one on there.

This phone's looks Stands Out No doubt about it.

Its touch sensitive keys are cool, but Sometimes, annoying when accidentally swiped.

I had this phone for only one year before it got broken.
This phone's camera I honestly have to say is not good. Other 1.3 phone cameras have clearer images.

You can't do anything else when using the music player, thus multitasking is not possible.

The Chrome accent gradually wears off : (.

But J600 is still a hot looking phone.

I had a problem with the display once, but it's easy to overcome by changing the strip. Torture with the tone after a call or text. I feel the ringtone volume is low & the speaker as well. Memory of 20MB is enough. Very good quality of music via headphone. Only the user can handle it, others find it difficult to handle unless they have used it before, its because of touch sensitivity.

Well I think this phone would be good for a new starter or an old person who maybe doesn't know much about phones. I accept that I have just bought that Samsung Tocco Ultra & the camera is brilliant, all the features on the phone are brilliant but they have just based the camera & features of the phone as basic, so the phone can be sold as brand new for the price of about £30.00 at argos where I bought my sister the phone in pink (they no longer do pink at argos) & my Grandad has it in black & they have had no problems what so ever. Thanks for taking your time & reading.

Try going to, sound settings, message tone, text message & then chose vibrate.

Now most of the time the screen is freezing, or it is just blank & it is mixing up the colours. The battery life of the J600 is OK as it usually runs out after 4 to 5 days depending on the brightness & contrast level. The speaker is not very loud on this phone but if you use the earphone provided then it is loud.

The caller settings I was happy with because you can have caller images & different ringtones for each contact.

Very rarely it doesn't recognise the memory card which is very annoying.

Overall, I advise that if you want to purchase this phone then you can but you will have to change it within 9 to 10 months of usage as it can start to lose its appeal.

It is a very fun phone to have & it hardly ever disappoints you.

I absolutely love this phone! I have had it for over a year. But now it has decided to break & the sound no longer works at all : (. I knew it was going to break as it didn't work if I played music straight from music player I had to lay it from my music files first. It is a real shame it has broken because I love the phone. The only other bad thing is that the camera is not good quality.

It takes a bit of getting used to. The camera is really bad, & makes skin really pale & ghostlike. & after 2 to 3 years, after a fall of a horse it smashed the screen & resulted in the whole thing going black, with a few patches left, only to get worse. Lots of scratches, not particularly sturdy, & the back liked to fall off. But sturdy enough for SOME people.

Had this phone for about 9 months & I'll be glad to see the back of it. It plays a stupid sound when you send a text message or after you call someone, have to keep toggling between sound on & silent. There is no other way to resolve this. You can put music on it but for what? You can't pick any of your own music for the ringtone so you have to buy ringtones unless you want to listen to rubbish. Computer connection never worked properly, gave up on that in the end. You also have to be very careful when opening it as the touch buttons can be ultra sensitive. Took me a long time to get used to that.

Phone got scratched very easily, especially up the left hand side. First of all the speaker went on it so could not make & receive calls. One plus was that the stupid annoying tune was also silenced.

Next thing to go was the left button on the central control, one has now gone each day since then (top, right & bottom, in that order) so now 3 days later I can do nothing at all with the phone. Think Samsung have a built in a self-destruct to the phone so you need to replace it.

I will never go near a Samsung phone again, it's put me off for life.

I have had this phone for almost 2 years now & it has never let me down!

The only bad thing about it is that sometimes when my friends have a look at it, they often end up calling someone because of the touch buttons which can be a bit annoying. I still put 100% for usability because it is so easy to use!

I put 100% for the features as well because it has everything that you should need! The camera pictures are good especially when you load the up on the computer!

I also put 100% for the Design because I have a blue one & it is the nicest colour blue ever, well done Samsung! Also because it is small & can easily fit in your pocket! The side buttons are also really easy to use!

If you are looking to buy this phone then I would really recommend it! For young users & old users this phone will suit anybody!

This phone is OK for people who won't listen to a lot of music & don't take videos much.
This phone for me only held 3 songs without a memory stick but my friend could hold seven songs without one.

My phone holds 53 pictures, 7 downloads & 10 favourite.

Videos, well at first it videoed for 15 minutes then it videoed for 1:30 & still does now.

I would recommend this phone to people who don't use memory much. I wouldn't recommend it for others.

For me the Samsung J600 has worked out very well. Firstly the design of the phone is good however there is always room for more. Next the features are good also, my favourite ones in the phone are the camera, voice recorder, music player & Java world. So the sound quality, very good if you ask me. Can still hear a voice in crowded & loud areas, Also music player is exceptionally good. I have had this phone for almost a year now & it still works perfectly. The touch buttons are still active the camera is still at its full resolution the sound's great & the phone's still in the condition I bought it! So the phone should be lasting quite a while longer!

Overall the J600 is a great phone to have. Lightweight, durable & the sort of phone that you should be proud of having x3

Plus I am soon to get an LG Viewty so more reviews soon.

This is a cheap phone, so don't expect a miraculously perfect phone. It looks great, I have to say, but for the first few days I absolutely hated it. Couldn't get to grips with the touch buttons on the front. I am used to it now but in all honesty I was close to returning the phone. Worked fine for about six months apart from occasionally ringing people up by mistake (hot tip, empty the calling history). The music feature is rubbish. Bought a 2GB SD card along with the phone thinking that would sort this, but it doesn't since the playlist is limited to songs on the internal memory. What else? HATE the sound of a text or MMS being sent, so I am forever switching between sound on & mute. As for problems with the screen & slider, it's a cheap phone & was clearly not built to last forever. I've had mine serviced once & it worked fine for a few months after that, but is now starting to act up in the same way again. Not in the mood to service again, it simply isn't worth it, so I am getting a new phone. Sticking with Samsung, but going for something slightly more sturdy. To sum up, the J600 is pretty on the outside, but has little on the inside. It's a good in between phone, since it's very inexpensive, just don't expect it to last a lifetime!

Well I had two of these phones & the features aren't any good for example.

- Only 1.3MP cameras.
- Really sensitive navigation keys.
- Only 65k screen.
- Doesn't really like memory cards like Sony Ericsson does.
- Music player is rubbish as you can only have a limited number of tracks per playlist & if you play in the file manager it doesn't continue to the next track.

You can buy a 2GB memory card for about 6 or 7 pounds. When receiving things via Bluetooth it saves to the phone so you must move the files to the memory card manually.

I have had this phone for over 6 months & I think it is brilliant. Okay, so some of these reviews are bad but has anyone ever thought, they are probably just one offs! My phone is really good but though it has exceeded my expectations, there are two little, but noticeable, problems with the Samsung J600.

- the plastic is not a coloured plastic, it is just painted that colour, so when you scratch it (which happens often) it is more noticeable than usual. For example, my phone is the pink colour, & when it scratched, the scratch was silvery-grey. It really showed up : (.

- Also, though this phone is said to be a music phone it only held 3 or 4 songs to the phone's memory. Therefore, you had to buy a memory stick for this particular phone, which wasn't expensive, but still annoying.

Though these problems do exist, the phone is overall amazing, & the comments about accidently phoning people are untrue! You simply have to slide the phone down & it will lock! Like I said, I love this phone & I would definitely recommend!

P.S. If you want to lock it whilst it is slid up, just press the on & off button once (don't hold on) & it will lock (same to unlock it again). The same rules apply if you want to unlock it whilst it is slid down. Hope this info was helpful!

OK, I got this phone on offer in Woolworth's for about £50 but then realised it had a really small memory so I had to get a memory card (wasn't too expensive from Amazon only about £5 for a 2GB card so that's good). After getting this phone, there are times when I wish I had chosen a different phone.

Good points, plays my music, has radio, can record videos, has enough features for me.

Bad points, gets scratched really easily & the back to mine is broken but I've only dropped it once! I have friends who dropped their phones way more but their backs still stay on. Touch sensitive buttons is an understatement, sometimes I've found myself on the Internet or calling people by mistake just because I very lightly touched the button, battery life isn't the best Although I do like this phone, I would suggest being careful with it. Camera isn't that good, but I have a digital camera so I don't mind too much, I am unsure on whether to recommend this phone or not :s it's an OK phone, but be prepared to need or want to buy a new one soon after. I got mine in October (it's now June) but I have been thinking of replacing mine for a while now.

This phone is the best phone I could have wished for. I would definitely recommend it. Only downside is it has a bad memory if you want it for music. It can only hold up to 3 or 4 songs. But mine hasn't got a memory card, I'm getting one soon but I'm guessing it's much better with a memory card. If you're thinking of getting one. GET IT. Don't get a £100 phone just because they're expensive. These are just as good & less than half the price. Happy shopping!

I bought this phone about a week ago & it is driving me mad! The touch screen is ridiculously sensitive, hold the phone the wrong way & you can end up calling someone you didn't want to & cancelling texts whilst you are typing them. Also don't like the way the end call key disappears when you are on a call, you have to press two keys to end the call. You can end the call by sliding the phone back down but I would rather just press end call. The manual is very basic & you have to find out what the phone can do by playing with it. A lovely looking phone though but overall annoying. Still, I got mine for £24.99 in Virgin so it wasn't an expensive mistake!

The phone has all the options, you can directly save your downloads to the memory card ( go to settings & make the changes), yes you can set different ringtones for different callers ( select that specific contact & then edit the contact, you will notice a bell icon, select that icon & choose the ringtone), you can store the photos taken over the phone to the memory card directly ( the option is in the settings, activate the camera, go to settings & choose memory card as the storage option).

Bought this phone not long ago & don't like using it, maybe because I've always used Nokia's. I find the touch screen very annoying (I kept accidentally cancelling texts & it won't save them if you do), don't like the fact that it doesn't save sent texts, or that you have to open the clip to charge the phone each time (it is quite fiddly). That said, I gave it to my boyfriend & he loves it.

I have this phone & it is GREAT the only thing that I found really annoying was that you can't multitask on it. I have the black one that is from Argos (£49.99) on Virgin which I had the SIM only contract. The memory is rubbish but you can buy the right memory card again from Argos for only 19.99! & it is 1 GB! Then the memory is brilliant I have 87 images & 17 videos & an amazing 72 songs & the memory card isn't even half full! I am only giving it to my dad who has a Nokia which he has owned for a number of years as I am leaving my virgin deal to go on to another contract with t mobile & I am so impressed that I have ordered the Samsung J700 in pink! It is so easy to use & it looks more expensive then what it is so I would definitely recommended it to anyone looking for a cheap phone under £100 that wants to be able to everything on it!

This phone still has the WOW factor to me!

Very good phone, pretty, sleek & stylish. The touch buttons are easy to use once you get used to them, & the backlighting on all the keys is very cool.

A few little niggles:

- the annoying sound after your balance notification.
- Not being able to check my balance without sending a text (balance number won't work for some reason).
- Not being able to set your own text alert sounds.
- When accidentally leaving a text, you have to either save it as a draft or lose it forever.

Other than these minor inconveniences, which you learn to live around, it's an awesome phone, & all for £60, well worth it!

The j600 is good my let downs are the ear piece for the radio keeps falling out of my ear the ear piece is to hard & will not blend with a person ear, if it had been softer it could mould to the shape, the other thing is the cancel key is easy to activate & you can cancel text, so I use the PC to send messages, but apart from that it is a nice phone with oodles of options well worth the money.

Once you find your way round the menus & explore the different options you won't regret buying it. You can alter the sound, fonts, display & the rocker switch where the I is gives you more scope on the options, but this is not mentioned in the manual as are other items, so the manual could be more explanatory, on the controls.

My requirements from this phone were a little different to other reviewers here because I bought it just for calling, Bluetooth & texting. I have a digital camera & MP3 player & I don't need a phone to do all this stuff. People sometimes complain about the imaging & sound on mobiles but my take is: use the proper kit that's been designed for it. Mobiles simply do not give you the same technical spec or quality.

Some points, I got the prompt about only storing 10 text messages too. The way I get round it is to go to the bottom of the SMS menu & create folders to store messages.

The touch sensitive pad took some getting used to. With some dexterity & practice I've finally cracked it. In all honesty, this phone is not for ham fisted people.

When I tried to download files to the handset, I was hoping they'd go straight to the phone's main memory, but I got a prompt that they would only load to the memory card (which you have to buy separately). Not terribly handy.

I use speakerphone a lot & am finding that when the slide is open, it keeps locking, what happens is that I miss the first part of a call while repeatedly attempting to unlock it, select options & go to speakerphone.

Other than that, these are just small niggles & I like the phone, certainly a lot more than the Motorola W375 I ditched in search of a better handset. It's a sleek design & a good basic phone for business & social communication.

Nice phone, just bought mine from Argos for £49.95, Virgin, in black, my daughter bought it in blue from Virgin for less (with her credits). She uses her phone to the maximum & has to charge up every 4 to 5 days, I use mine a great deal less, but I have to charge the phone every 2 to 3 days.

Only had the phone for 10 days, the phone spec stated there's 300 hours standby time (12.5 days) I think they have greatly over stated this, or is there a manufacturer's fault? Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

This was a good deal (I thought) from Virgin £10 a month for 100 minutes & 100 texts, & the phone free. I was not very impressed with this & it's going back. You can only play one music track at a time, after several days of trying to play an album I rang Samsung & they confirmed this, they said it's not like an MP3 player, well OK so it's primarily a phone but my main reason for upgrading from my 4 year old Nokia was so I could play music. As well as this it doesn't seem to transfer the music from my memory card into the Music folder & I ended up having to play music direct from the memory card which involved several steps to get to it, even though there is a Music shortcut on the handset. This is in fact useless as it will only contain two tracks.

You can only set one of the four text message alerts preset on the phone which are all annoying.

I have rung Virgin & am swapping it for the Nokia 6300 & breathed a sigh of relief!

Great apart from the music. The music folder only holds 2 tracks so you need a micro SD memory card. BUT if I transfer music to the memory card there is then no facility to add it to the playlist (no it doesn't sound right does it), so I thought, OK I will play music directly by accessing the memory card & pressing play. But then it will only play one track at a time, you have to scroll down & press play again. It won't just play the whole album. This is driving me insane! I am beginning to think I made the wrong choice of phone here as my main reason for switching from my old Nokia was to get an up-to-date one that played music. Has anyone got round this? Or do I take it back & get another Nokia?

Very good looking phone, sleek & small.

The slide mechanism is very sturdy & well made. The 4 touch sensitive buttons are sensitive but not too sensitive, especially once you are used to them.

The menu setup is easy & clear, despite was others have said & I had no problems finding any features. The 1.3 megapixel camera is what you would expect, decent but not great but if you want a camera, buy one, not a phone. The only slight problem is the lack of a flash.

The MP3 is very clear & loud. Someone mentioned that you need to keep the earphones in to listen to the radio on speaker, so what? You are provided with them in the box so it's no problem.

The software provided was also very easy to install & use, meaning I could easily copy & paste my contacts rather than having to add them all again.

Overall this phone is extremely good value, especially if you buy it from virgin as you get 800 free texts with it.

I got this phone free with a £10 a month contract from Virgin (only available to Virgin Media customers). Love the looks, very stylish. I have never had Bluetooth, MP3 player or camera on previous phones. Love the Bluetooth facility & it connects with my laptop no problem. Don't think much of the camera but I am not bothered as I have a really good camera already, but finding the music is not easy, put in a new 2GB MicroSD card & it didn't detect the music. In response to the many people who have had problems with the really annoying tone that comes through when a message has been sent, I've had the same problem & after trawling through the net & finding no answers, I've finally got it resolved. It's an issue with O2 (or it is on my phone at least) & cannot be switched off on the phone itself. It's the balance notifications that are sent by O2 after each message & at the end of each call. I contacted O2 customer services & they were able to switch off the notifications. No more problems since. Thank goodness, that daft little jingle was driving me up the left!

Hi All, I just happened to buy this phone as it was good looking. It was more of an impulse. This is my first non Nokia phone. Nokia is the most preferred brand in India (as per my experience of six years of mobile usage). It's an established brand just like Maruti Suzuki in India. People tend to go by the Goodwill the brand has, & refuse to look around. & no doubt, word of mouth has a better effect anywhere in the world.

I bought this phone in the month of December 07. Three days after I bought it, I lost it & I was very upset. Just imagine you buy a new phone & three days & poof it's gone! What would you do if it was any other phone (Nokia, Motorola) You curse your fate & fret over it? & you won't believe, I got it back after twenty days (of course some bloke had flicked it) & the moment he inserted his sim card, two of my friends got a notification. It had the person's contact number. Bingo! I got my phone back. Thanks to the amazing mobile tracking facility provided by Samsung. I was very happy. The only other phone that offers this facility is LG.

The phone has a built in memory of 20MB & I find it quite OK, because anyone who buys a phone would naturally go in for a memory card if they choose to listen to music all the while. The features are good however, it would have been happy if the phone had a louder ringing volume (which can be overcome if you have your favourite music as your ring tone, which most people do).

& don't believe the people who have given a bad review about the phone. The first thing a sensible buyer would do is, go through the user manual which obviously was not done by anyone complaining below.

The software is clearly hassle free & three months into usage, I didn't find any issues with it at all. The talk time is about 3 to 3.5 hrs depending on the usage. (I normally charge it once in 2 to 3 days.)

This is quite an impressive mobile phone, it costs about 7 thousands which I believe is quite OK for a normal user. I wouldn't say it's a cheap phone as I own it myself :).

I bought this phone just after Christmas from O2 & was amazed at the low price. However, a couple of days later I found I couldn't use the MP3 & there was no sound apart from key tones. I had to take the battery out & replace every time, & there was still a doubt over whether it would ring or not, & a phone that doesn't ring isn't a great help LOL. In the end I exchanged it but a few days later it happened again, but since then it has been fine. I love the sleek design & the features are good, but I also had difficulty with the 1GB memory card, the computer program is difficult to use & it won't play songs downloaded from iTunes, just off CDs. At least I've bought myself a new iPod Nano so I don't need MP3 anymore LOL x.

The sound alerting you to your balance can be switched to vibrate on your sound settings.

My phone is letting me store more than 10 messages!
So don't know why people think that it will only store 10!

A light brush of your finger will get you on to your contacts, access the Internet, End & Start a call.

Be Patient with the touch screen buttons! Hope this helps!

I have had no problems at all & have presently got 15 messages in my INBOX so what's this rubbish about only holding 10 messages. I have the disc loaded onto my laptop & can move info back & forwards from phone to laptop. It's all in the Samsung bit which I downloaded off the disc. You have to down load about 3 different bits off the disc.

I do have a problem with the browsing bit though & cannot access anything useful on the Internet. All I get is the O2 browser & some sky news rubbish.

This is a pretty looking phone. But it is also kind of rubbish. I've had mine just over a month & have been very careful with it but already many things have gone wrong, mainly to do with text messaging.

To start with, when using T9 I cannot write a whole message out because by the time I have written about the third line of text it is all deleted, sometimes with the occasional letter left in place. It seems to favour the letter c.

Next, my speaker decided to work only occasionally, which means my phone has to be on vibrate all the time in case the speaker fails again. This does not however, affect the sound in phone calls, just message tones, call tones, MP3 etc.

Next, I began to notice the touch sensitive buttons becoming slightly unresponsive & needing to be pressed a few times before they register a command, however this is juxtaposed with the cancel button being over sensitive.

& Finally. The most annoying problem for me, I can no longer write text messages. Full stop. I had to relearn the art of non predictive texting, which is very annoying, only to have my phone freeze whenever I try to create or reply to a text message. I HATE THIS PHONE!

My advice is too not buy this phone. Even when it is functioning perfectly well it still leaves a lot to be desired, (bad MP3 sound quality, horribly awful camera quality etc) but when it is not working it is the most worthless piece of rubbish I have ever encountered in the world of phones.

Girls with skinny thumbs & long, pointy thumb nails might manage OK, but I would seriously recommend all guys give this one a miss. There's no point in a great looking phone that you just can't use.

Just try to send a simple text & you will see how a nightmare it is, by default it requests an email address, after changing some settings the problem was solved, but the only thing I need when I finish a text is one click to get in a last contact list & a second click to get the address book.

Here it considers by default that you will send the text to several persons & you have to select several options to get the message sent.

I did not know it was still possible to find a phone with a so bad configure & usability.

I suppose it's just getting used to it, generally though I've managed to navigate around quite easily & without the instructions. The clarity of the sound during calls is brilliant. Not really interested in the music side of it, I have an iPod for that, but the camera is quite important to me. Though a 1.3MP camera, the clarity is like 5MP or so, music clarity is remarkable but not very loud. After all it's a mobile phone, not a loud speaker! Voice recording is very clear, & so is the screen resolution.

Never the less, the most flamboyant looking phone in its class. Perhaps even among higher models. The touch keys are very amazing & interesting to use. They are neither too sensitive nor too less sensitive. All in all, JUST BUY IT OFF!

In response to Cdr reviewer from Liverpool, UK, if you want to listen to music by an MP3 player, these days they are £10 & only weigh 10g! Cameras are in mobiles these days to capture those moments when you do not have a camera with you. The one on the J600 is 1.3 megapixel, pretty good for a £50 phone! Earphones are needed for the radio as they are needed as they find signal.

A great phone all in all. Touch sensitive buttons easy to get used to & slider is amazing!

I got this phone yesterday from the Carphone Warehouse for 50 quid on O2 & its canny good sum people are saying that the touch sensitive buttons are rubbish & hard to use but I picked up straight away & the propa easy to use, but if you were buying this phone I think you would have to buy a memory card because without one you wouldn't be able to hold much on it but I bought a 2GB memory card from the Carphone Warehouse for 13 quid & it holds loads of stuff on it, I would say everything's canny good on this phone except the Internet doesn't have a very good connection as I keep trying but it just won't let is on. I would recommend this phone to most people, but if you like propa mint phones this isn't for you, but it's alright if you just want a basic phone with Bluetooth & MP3 & a few other features.

It is a nice attractive phone with a sleek & slim glossy design but the radio & the MP3 can be better as the radio you need the head phones all the time & the MP3 you have to jeep on crating playlists.

I would recommend this phone to people who don't want it for MP3 & loud radio.

Let me dispense with the mobile phone cliché first of all: 'sleek & stylish', this phone is certainly that; very slim & glossy, with a bright, clear screen & Samsung's signature invisible backlit buttons; should you care about such things, you won't be ashamed to be seen using this phone in public.

From a hardware perspective there is little to fault with the J600: it works well enough as a phone; the slider mechanism is robust & smooth, although I should point out at this juncture that the impression you might get from some other reviews is that the slider is a clever electromechanical system that is touch sensitive - it isn't; the slider is a spring loaded mechanical system that requires only a slight push to operate, but a push nonetheless; the camera is what you would expect from a 1.3 MP camera with no flash. I have yet to see the point of incorporating cameras into phones, I'd much rather dispense with the camera & beef up something else I.e. The MP3 player to which I'll return later; the phone has Bluetooth, which unfortunately. To which.

I bought this phone on the strength of its having an MP3 player & a micro-SD card slot; great I thought, I can replace my current phone & my PDA (which these days I only use for playing MP3s) with a single device, more than halving the weight & current gadgetry I lug around daily. However, I was to be severely disappointed. The sound quality from the MP3 player is good, even given the earphones, but.

I dutifully dropped two Gigs worth of music into a hierarchical folder structure (by artist & album) onto my micro-SD card & plug it into the phone. I load the MP3 player & search for music, erm there is none? By accident I discover that the only music files the MP3 player can detect are those in the root of the "Music" folder, what? I drop all two gigs of music files into the root Music folder & try again of course, some of the MP3s have the same title so I have to rename them. Ah! Now I can see the files & I also discover the Playlist concept, you add your music files to a Playlist, name it ("Rock music" or something) & off you go. So I select about 200 songs & add them to one of the playlists "Full" is the response. Investigation reveals that a single playlist can only accept something like 30 songs; it also reveals that there are only 4 pre-defined playlists & you can't add any more. So here I have a phone that accepts SD cards that can hold 1000+ MP3 files; but which then limits me to only selecting a maximum of 30 at a time? Is this really how Samsung believes people listen to music these days? Has anyone sacked the software designer? & another thing! The FM radio, requires that you plug the earphones in to operate. If you look at the FM radio options menu you will see an item called "Speaker On", if you select this option your FM station is played through the speaker; but get this, you have to leave the earphones plugged in anyway; if you take them out the Radio switches off? The mind boggles.

In fact on the whole the software seriously lets this phone down: the menu system is difficult to navigate (It took me three days to discover where the vibrate setting is) & although you can setup shortcuts you are severely limited as to how many. I've been used to using Profiles on my previous mobiles (all Nokia) but this phone doesn't really have that concept. You have one global Profile & a silent mode, but again for some reason this is not accessible from the menu system but through holding down the '#' key.

Anyway, to conclude. If you want a nice looking bog-standard phone wit a camera then go for this, it does the job. If you're buying this for the MP3 player (or indeed anything else) forget it, it's more or less useless.

Excellent phone, had mine 4 months now & love it.

I think the Radio function is fantastic, the MP3 player is amazing (you have to buy a memory card to make it worth it because the memory's tiny) & I like that fact I get to choose which messages to save & which not to when sending, means I don't have to mess around deleting them all the time.

One major issue I have with it is the damn touch buttons, I have got proper bloke hands with stubby (fat) fingers to boot, so taking my phone out to find I have been on WAP 2 hours is not fun, why or why would you put a wap touch buttons on a phone that slides shut? Personally I would rather they put a proper button for wap so I wouldn't be hitting it by accident as much, & you can't even change what the touch buttons open. Other than that it's a great phone.

& it's gone! This also disables the sounds made when dialling a number, as well as the opening music when you turn the phone on which I definitely don't have a problem sacrificing.

Apart from that little niggle, the phone looks sleek, it functions like a dream & the touchpad is awesome to use. Buy this phone!

I got the blue J600 the other day, the phone looks great & performs well too. Granted, sometimes the touch screen features do things you don't want to but that's only because you touch the wrong one. This phone is well worth the money but set aside some cash to get a 1 or 2GB micro SD card because the memory is low. Compared to the E900 there is very little difference, the E900 has a few extra features you will hardly use anyway. Quality phone for a Bargain!

A few questions:

- Does it have a silent mode? (As well as a vibrate)?
- Can you change the text ringtone? (Someone said no, verify please)?
- Can you lock the keypad (with or without PIN doesn't matter which)?
- Can you lock the touch sensitive keys like the keypad lock?
- I have heard it can only store about 10 texts in the inbox at a time, True or False?
- I have also heard that it doesn't automatically store your sent texts, True or False?

Please help, I am thinking about getting it for my birthday in 2 weeks. I need to know whether to get this or something else.

I bought this phone a couple of days ago from the O2 shop & I love it! It is so easy to use & it is so light! I had a Sony Ericsson & Nokia before & I prefer this to my Sony Ericsson!

I would just like to say to the people who complained about it that the touch sensitive buttons are fine if you are gentle. There is no need to push hard on them! & to the girl that said her sent messages didn't save in her outbox, that's because when you send a text you have to choose 'send & save' & not just 'send'.

I have put features at 95% because I think Samsung could of put visual texting on it like the D900, (if you type certain words, a picture comes up instead of the word) but apart from that this is a great phone!

If you are thinking of buying this phone, get it! Its only £59.99 & it's a really nice phone to use & to be seen with!

By the spelling on the reviews the only option on the phone they need is texting. Most of the problems with the phone is user error or can't read the instruction book. I got this phone on the 12th October for my birthday. At first I thought it was great because of the colour. I've had it for a week now & I think the colour is getting a bit boring. I would've preferred the black one. Lush design but it would be cooler if it was all touch sensitive buttons like the LG Chocolate. I got this phone over the LG Chocolate because, although the LG looks better, this phone has loads of great features such as a 1.3MP camera which takes fairly good photos which have different effects & frames. It has a video recorder & a MP3 player which goes very loud for a phone. It had FM radio which I don't really use but saw that as an added on bonus for if I get bored!

All in all if your going to get this phone get the black one, the blue is deceiving!

Nice light phone however the touch sensitive buttons do cause you to make mistakes or dial the wap by accident, if you like having the phone between your neck & shoulder, do not buy it, the touch sensitive will cut the call short.

As for the features, the games are OK, bobby carrot is cool, tough game but very good. Message alert tones there is only a choice of 4. Unlike Nokia where you can customize. Ring tones are drab too however you can transfer from PC to phone your own music, 20mg memory as standard, advise you buy a 1g or 2g micro sd card. Ring tones are very low volume via own music transfer but the preset ones are a little louder but not much, I miss calls because of the faint sound.

The touch sensitive buttons, contrary to what a lot of people are saying, are very easy to use & require a mere brush or tap with the finger to operate, although one slip onto the cancel button will totally get rid of any menu applications (barring texting) which is annoying at times. There are four touch sensitive buttons & a solid control pad in the middle that lets you move around (e.g. Go left, right, down, up), & enables you to access the menu. The slider function is also nice & smooth

'Under the bonnet': In terms of features this phone has virtually all the basics & a few extras thrown in such as an FM radio - although this requires the headphones to be plugged in as they act as an aerial to gain reception - a little annoying. The 1.3 mp camera takes fairly good pictures although the zoom is pretty poor, there is no flash nor is there a focus feature. The MP3 player works well & is easy to use - although there is limited scope for track storage as the phone only comes with 20MB of memory & I soon had to invest in a 1GB memory card. There is also a converter allowing you to convert various weights, lengths, currencies & volumes which is a handy feature.

Usability: the interface on the phone is very easy to use & looks good with its black background (which can be changed to white) & meaningful icons that each light up in a different colour so that they're more easy to remember.

Conclusion: This is ideal for someone looking for a stylish phone, with all the basic features at an affordable price - although gadget wizards would be disappointed given the phone's lacking memory & bog standard camera.

I think the phone is nice & stylish but I don't like the colour screen & also the memory isn't very good & I will now have to go & buy a memory card.

I am just wondering if this is big, because I have never seen it in real life but have ordered it already. Is it big, small, fat, or think? Also is the music quality good when on loud speaker & can you put headphones in? Thanks Martin Brown.

Hello people, I have just saw the review of that amazing & sensitive phone but can anyone please tell me what will be the expected price rate of Samsung's J600. I want to know I heard this is a very stylist phone & value for money.

Is this phone any good? & also, is the menu the same as the E900? The colour resolution isn't so great. What is the camera like? I'd appreciate your help on this. Thanks.

Only one real gripe with this phone & that is the touch sensitive shortcuts, I am always finding the phone trying to connect to the WAP service as my finger has brushed against the WAP shortcut key - so far I can't work out how to disable the shortcut.

It has to be the worse phone I have ever had, very touch sensitive. I can't disable the alert on message sending, only by muting the whole phone. Also when speaking to someone on it, you get the echo of your voice. So I think it is going back to shop tomorrow & not just to exchange it for another one but something different.

I can't change the message tone choice of four. Real good looking phone, but very touch sensitive, I cannot set up my message received function & I have text everybody my new number but my messages say none sent. Mmmmm so have they got my new number or what I have had this phone for 1 day & I have spent ages trying to get my head round it. Time will tell but as far as looks go its brill. But as they say 'beauty is only skin deep'.
