Completely appalling, buttons so small that you can't see them without getting reading glasses out. Buttons so small that you can't press just one button. Wish I did not have it, completely terrible.

I bought this phone about 2 weeks ago. It is an absolutely awesome phone for such great value. The amazon maps application I downloaded plus the on board GPS allowed me to quickly change my route one day when there was bad traffic. It types great when texting & keeps a list of conversations with the same people. It is so fast. I can quickly get to applications. I love the onboard mouse system. The HSDPA is super fast. I have googlemail as one of my favourite websites & so can see my emails really quickly & forward them or download if I want to. I have not seen any better value phone. There may be better phones, but you'll need to pay at least £100 more. However I am not going to pay £100 more to find out if they are better, as I have had many PDA phones in my time, paying £250 plus £45 month & they were not as good as this one. It is light. It is compact. It fits in my pocket. I like the colours on screen. I can quickly get to my contacts to phone. I can quickly change to silent mode. So thank you Samsung.

Very difficult to use the navigation key? It does not have left, right, top, bottom navigation key. You just use it like a mouse & cannot scrolling like using top & bottom key button.

This Smartphone is all you need. It has a ton of features that you will never get from any other Smartphone. It has pretty low price tag compared to other Smartphones, like iPhone & so on.

The GPS feature is very useful, tough GPS software may be different in continentals on countries, someone mentioned he has tom tom software, I have Garmini software.

The mouse pointer of i780 is very useful, as far as I know any other phone doesn't have this feature.

Only thing I don't like is that the Wi-Fi doesn't get decent connection unless you are in the Hotpoint of Wi-Fi.

Other ways it is the ultimate phone to use, very stylish & very useful, I didn't know that this phone is so good, but if you are looking for ultimate phone, then this is the one you definitely should get for yourself.

Had tried to do the setting for my 3 day old i780 via phone with the telco (Maxis) but was unsuccessful & the telco requested that I bring it into their Customer Service Centre to let their staff do the setting.

I brought it to the telco's Customer Service Centre as advised & when they reset my i780 after doing the setting, my i780 crashed!

I was totally distressed as my immediate concern was the 600+ numbers I have in my contact list that was stored in my i780 hard drive!

At the Samsung Service Centre, they told me it was the first ever i780 they had received.

After some initial checking, they told me they do not know what was wrong with it as they cannot bring it back into working condition & they have to call their HQ in KOREA for guidance & help.

The next day, the Samsung Service Centre called me to inform that their HQ in Korea do not know why my unit had crashed. Up to now, they could not bring it back into working condition either.

As such, Samsung Service Center offered to replace my unit with a new i780. I have to wait 2 weeks to get the replacement unit. At this time, I have not decided if I will accept another replacement unit or to simply get my refund & buy another proven make & model.

Having previously used the SPV M3100, the Samsung i780 was an absolute dream to own. It is very light to carry around, yet it has all the features that a modern PDA phone should have.

(In my view) the essential list is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HSDPA & GPS. The phone also has an unique feature which is the mouse pointer that is controlled by the small square in the middle of the phone. This is extremely usable in my view, it saves you having to pull out the stylus.

The GPS works a treat with my navigation software, but I was more impressed with the quality of Google Maps. The other bundled application is the Opera browser which is also very nice to use.

The camera is decent, the battery life is (so far) pretty good. My only quibble is the screen resolution, at 320x320 many of my purchased pocket PC applications do not display properly. I am hoping the authors will release updates to cover this resolution. However I have to say that the navigation software (tom tom) works brilliant & has no problem with the odd resolution.

My advice, if you want a PDA phone that works great & is slim, this is the ultimate device. This is my first ever review (of any phone), I think this phone deserves a good reputation.
