I have a question for owners of the F400. What happens when you are listening to a MP3 & a text message arrives? Does the song get interrupted? Can you compose & send text messages while listening to music? Thanks.

Probably the worst phone ever made!

When I first got the phone it was perfect (or thought) now I have had it for 7 months & everything is going wrong.

- The phone just decides to turn on & off whenever it wants (sometimes it doesn't turn on for hours).
- It won't charge without turning off!
- Beeping noise during calls saying something about the headphone jack :S.
- Loads more problems :).

NOT recommended!

I have had this phone for almost a year. To be honest, it hasn't been that bad. But, now things are starting to go wrong!

Last month, the inside of the screen cracked, had to get it repaired, & the camera wouldn't work after that! Then now, when I make a phonecall, no one can hear me due to a problem with the microphone!

All in all, its a good phone. WILL NOT LAST FOREVER though!

Hi, saving for this phone over the Sony Ericsson W705 good choice? Anyway, I've a few points I need to cover.

- Is the scrolling wheel easy to use?

- Is the slider smooth?

Is the resolution good? I mean is the menu good like the G600 or as bad as the J700?

Thanks, keep you updated when I get the phone.

I am going to get this phone soon & as far as I know, it's great! I have never had a Samsung phone before & now I am eager to get one.

I just need to ask 2 questions.

- When I receive a file sent by another phone, how do I store it into my memory card instead of having to copy it from phone to memory card?

- I have read many specifications of this phone, & some say it can hold a memory card up to 2GB, some say 4GB & 8GB. Which is the right one?

Thanks.

In reply to Ruair, Open the main menu, Go to settings, phone settings, PC connections & select mass storage.

When you plug the USB cable into your computer, go to my computer then click on the removable disk drive (your phone).

Drop & drag the files into the appropriate folders, it's so easy & simple to use.

I've had this phone for over a week now & still have nothing but admiration for it.

This has really got to be the best Samsung phone ever. It seems more powerful than the G600. You can set your own message tones for individual people, I like the themes, although there could be more. The display is brilliant. Good storage memory (8GB), good slider. I like the way you can save your memos, to-do list & calendar entries into your memory card.

I've had this phone since Friday last & have been tinkering with it ever since. This is both a good & bad thing as my previous phone, the Sony Ericsson W580, only took a couple of hours to figure out.

The design is gorgeous & it feels lovely to hold. The sound quality is excellent & can be clearly heard ringing. You can also hear the other person fantastically, which is a must when you're surrounded by a selection of the UK's finest pre teens on a long National Express journey!

The camera is a little odd. All the photographs I've taken have automatically saved in Landscape. Despite this anomaly, the quality is a lot better than my old Sony Ericsson, but not better than my mum's D600.

As far as features go, it's pretty standard as it has the usual stuff. Net, MP3, & what not. Sadly, the only game on it is a demo of Deal or No Deal.

What lets this phone down is the usability. I haven't yet discovered how to automatically transfer files direct to the memory card, so I have to copy then delete from the phone's memory. It's incredibly annoying. What's also annoying is not knowing how to change the message alert tone. The default one is quiet & irritating & absolutely no good whatsoever.

The instruction guide doesn't really tell you much & you're left wandering through technology with a giant question mark over your head sometimes. Again, very annoying!

Still, it's a great little phone & promises to be quite a bit of fun once I get used to it.

Just a quick review & note to Lewis from UK, I had the same issue with the flash blur & picture quality, then when looking closer there is a clear protective film (like the front when new) over the camera lens that was still there (dear me) Once removed pictures & flash images are crystal clear.

On the review side I have had Nokia's for the past 5 years so the menu system was different, but usable, 3 problems I have noticed in 2 months.

- I have had some people in hands-free (speaker option) made calls saying they cannot hear me or darlek speech.
- It has a more frequently loss of connection compared to Nokia's.
- the supplied headset & charger share the same port, so if the battery runs out you have to wait for recharge?
- the top headset connector (standard headphone pin) does not allow radio to work.

On the whole a good phone I hope, early days.

I personally think this phone is great, although the memory is not great, but you can buy an SD card so that solves that! I did want to get a touch screen phone, but thought I best not, as it's just another thing to go wrong! It's a lush little phone, & the wheel is a great idea! Makes searching for things a lot quicker! I did have a Sony Ericsson w900i & that was a super phone! Until it went wrong & kept turning itself off! Oh well, I am very happy with my purchase of the F400 & think that it's much louder than the Walkman phones too!

AWFUL PHONE. Stay well away from it. The camera for a 3MP was very poor & worse than some VGA phone cameras that I have had in the past & the flash when using it in low light just turns the captured image all a sky blue led colour so you can barely make out the image & the iPod like music wheel can be tricky to use. If you want a phone that can hold a good number of MP3's & just want to text & call then the phones fine but if you want to take pictures & have a mid ranged camera phone avoid it like the plague.

I have had this phone a week now. I have given it 95% because I think it would be unrealistic to give any phone 100% because there will always be something you like more about one phone than another.

I have been wondering if I should have waited & got the G600 which was out of stock at the time. But I know now that I DID make the right choice. The sound is excellent, & also LOUD, much louder than other phones I have had. It looks good & I am proud to carry it around. I particularly love the butterfly, sliding image feature in standby. To set this up you go into Settings, Display then Wallpaper. Then go to My Screen. The scrolling wheel makes searching through for a particular photo or track nice & easy. Though I don't use it an awful lot.

I also have a U600 & that has a sunlight setting so you can always see your phone no matter how bright the sun is. Only wish my F400 had this. Then again, perhaps you can adjust the brightness & this may help. Not tried that.

I love the music recognition feature. This, in my opinion, is better than the one found on certain Sony Ericsson phones.

I don't have any complaints other than when receiving items by Bluetooth you cannot save directly to the memory card but have to manually move it. But hey, that is only a minor thing. The camera is good, video good & more responsive than my U600 which can take forever to take a photo due to the autofocus which the F400 also has but copes with it much better for some reason.

I definitely recommend this phone. It has video calling which I will never use but find it maybe a little slow when using the Internet. But that may be down to the network (Virgin) & not the phone.

BUY IT & TRY IT & SEE WHAT I MEAN!

Try this phone, you will not be disappointed.
