I really love this phone but it has some problems that I wonder if any of you know how to fix.

- It won't play some songs, it just restarts itself.
- You can't be sent songs from some phones.
- You can't send songs to some phones.

Other than this I love it, but really want to know how I can stop it doing these things. If you know please tell me :).

I've had this phone for close to 2 years now & I am more than happy with it. It's got some really intelligent features. & surprisingly none of the reviewers have mentioned any of that. It stores all the recent contacts (dialled, missed, received calls along with sent & received messages) in a temp memory folder & if in case you happen to dial the initial two digits of a number it brings up a list of all the numbers in the temp memory & the phone book starting with those digits. This helps when you've got to call someone back whose number is not stored in your phonebook & you just remember the initial few digits of it. Another cool feature is that it not only allows you to send messages directly to the phonebook contacts but also to the recent contacts that are not there in the phonebook so you don't need to remember them or write them down (that makes life really easy because you can't keep saving every other number). The phone also has a number blocking feature which helps if you want to avoid someone. & I love the sound quality on the earphones!

Best phone I've ever had. Had it for 18 months & only then did it start to freeze (very occasionally). Apart from that didn't have any other problems. Easy to use & a very stylish looking phone. Also mirror is very useful!

I liked the phone at first, after 10 months it keeps dropping signal, a reboot of the phone & it is at the same place hey presto its back, for how long.

The mirror design gets annoying & is partial to grease & scratches.

I think this phone is really slick & stylish it has a really funky setting for the number keys & a good camera. It can store quite a lot of memory without a memory card. But one negative thing about this phone is you sometimes ring people because of the touch screen but once you get used to the phone you don't do it but other than that I love this phone & if you are planning on getting it I would definitely get it.

Great looking phone. Had mine for 12 months into an 18 month contract.

Downsides, touch screen is a bit too sensitive causing accidental phoning.

MAJOR downside, battery life. Previously I have had Nokia's & had no problems. This is my first Samsung & I am now about to go onto my third battery! The first one lasted 6 months, Orange sent me a replacement & that lasted about 6 months again. I send about 50 texts a day & maybe talk for 20 minutes but by the end of the day my battery is dead. Not over usage I think you will agree!

Great phone but poor battery.

I've just got this phone on Orange, I read all the opinions of this phone before I got it, & some of you say it's awful, I disagree.

- On texts, when I have accidentally pressed back, it asks if I want to save the message to drafts.
- The sound system is anything but dull.
- My camera takes the blur out of the picture which is great.

The only problems I have is the touch screen, which sometimes sensors when you press it too late, & the fact that if you have a memory card, & want a picture from your memory card as your wallpaper, you have to move it back to the phone.

But otherwise this is a great phone & I would highly recommend it.

I've had the phone for 10 months now, it has not broken down & I have become a text guru for the first time. The camera is not good, but I've got a digital anyway so not that bothered. I have taken enough good pictures though to have them attached to people, that is great the caller id, immediately without reading who is calling their picture comes up, also have different music attached to different people so that I can tell who is calling when the phone is still in my bag. I can actually say oh I'll leave that it's so & so if I am in the middle of something.

I have downloaded a brain training game so used it quite a lot in the beginning before getting my DS Lite. It's actually a really good & cheap version for around £3.50.

The best feature is when I receive text messages, people write words but they come up as pictures. I thought people were being clever & attaching clipart themselves & when I mentioned to my sister in New Zealand that I loved the way a heart flashes when she says love, she said she hadn't done it, so I experimented by sending myself a message using all the words that I knew came up in pictures, happy, sad, sun, love, car, phone, I am still finding new ones. How sad am I? But it is great.

Interestingly I don't have a cover & it gets knocked about in my bag but it hasn't scratched hardly at all.

It is great in an evening bag, lovely & slim so I can take it out with me. Silver & sleek, looks expensive & the slide up cover prevents the phone from automatically dialling someone's number when it gets knocked.

Been thinking when the contract is finished off just getting a sim card & keeping the phone, so it must be good. First one I ever felt like that about.

Had a Motorola before this (big mistake & my husband's Motorola just packed in! ). I've had this phone for around 8 months now, lush pink one, only thing that annoys me slightly is the touch screen, making calls by accident & lost a couple of texts I'd written, but you get used to watching where your fingers are while using it. Camera takes good pictures if you've got a steady hand, but that's what my digital camera is for! Am still loving my phone & all its features. Don't be put off it's a great little thing!

Read Me!

This is a great phone! The design is amazing, it looks sleek & stylish, expensive too, but if you buy it from eBay you can get it from £50 to £70 that's what I did. The wallpaper background is amazing, it's got big ben & the sky, which darkens as the day goes on.

The camera isn't great, you have to have a dead steady hand, otherwise the picture goes blurry. It's easy to use, & the Internet actually works on this phone, you get a message telling you what to do, & all you have to do is go on options & install, the Internet is OK too.

A miner set back about this phone is that sometimes when I am typing a message, because it's a touch screen, I accidently press it & I lose my message, & have to start all over, which is bad if your writing a whole essay to someone.

Other than that it's great, I highly recommend it to anyone.

Mine has a few scratches on it, but that's because it was second hand, & they were already there, I am sure if I had got it brand new then I would be more careful.

I love this mobile phone so much! It's the best mobile I have ever had, seeing as my list mobile was a Motorola, which is an awful make! The design is so sleek & neat, & you can get in silver or pink!

It's easy to use & I have had no problem with the touch pad at all, ever, only ever so often I may ring someone by mistake but otherwise I put it on lock when it's in my hand bag! I love this mobile loads even when it breaks (which won't be for ages I bet) I will continue to get the same phone because I love it so much.

If you are looking for a simple phone, sleek, with great features, this is the phone you want, trust me, it rocks! The only slight downer is that the camera does not have flash so it does not work in bad light, but otherwise it's fabulous! The screen is slightly speckled which is a bit annoying bit you only see it if you look very closely!

I love this mobile & I know you will love it to! Don't listen to any of the bad reviews about this phone because it's fabulous & if they say it does not work very well its only because they are not using it properly! Listen to me, if you get this mobile first hand it's amazing, it's well worth the money & it will not let you down!

I love it! Wooo! Bye.

I am the type of person who is always texting & messing about on my phone so battery is quite important. Mind you, I don't really care if I need to charge it as long as I have a phone!

I had this phone for my birthday in September & I loved it as soon as I saw it, BUT, there is a big problem with this phone, it's the software. My phone worked perfectly until last month. It wouldn't let me open my address book or let me send messages. I went to four phone shops to get some opinions of what was wrong with it & they all said it's the software. One person said that once the software goes in this phone it's hard for it to work again. I've sent it off to be repaired & will get it back the end of the month so I will keep you updated.

I have the pink E840 & it looks really lush!

The touch pad is a bit difficult to use at first but you get used to after about a week.

If you have one that keeps working they are great as the screen display is large, the buttons are big & the battery lasts! It's a nice looking phone as well. I have a few friends who have had Samsungs & their experience has been pretty much the same.

Well I never! The Samsung E840 is brilliant! I just got it today, & I can't stop touch him all the day. It's so slim & stylish & really wonderful. I have no problem with touch sensitive keys, I touch him first time in my live & used to him, I don't think that would be a problem to anyone, it's really easy. The mirror effect look really amazing & the features are great too. Camera is really good, even not having flash, I am taking a pictures all the day in my room & the effect is just the same like having a flash, the pictures are nice & light, I was scary about that but the quality is great. The sound is perfect & there is enough memory, anyway you can buy a memory card if you need more space for your stuffs, I plan to buy one too. There is FM radio too & Bluetooth & I think this phone has everything, especially for girls because the design is the best ever, I really recommended this brilliant phone, & I can't understand the people that writing a bad reviews about them, believe me is simply the best one! Sorry about my English, I am from France.

This phone is amazing. I got it for my Christmas & when am not using it a just look at it! I love the look & if you're buying don't listen to all the bad reviews. I know everyone says that but a really mean it. My friend has got the w580i & I read up on it just there I would much prefer having this phone than hers! I was a bit worried about people saying bad stuff to me about it because when you slide it up the slides stay there but I had nothing to worry about because everyone loved it. Tons of people have it now & got it because of me & are constantly thanking me showing them mine. Because I if didn't they wouldn't have known about it. Overall this phone is the best. The touch pads aren't sensitive & people who said all that are just jealous! I love the camera & everything! You can even change the font type to them, sticky notes or fountain pen it is so cool! I've got the pink one & if you're a girl I would definitely go for that one! Anyway the phone is great & you would be silly not to buy it. I wouldn't swap it for any other phone in the world!

This phone is the WORST phone ever. It has had to be replaced 3 times, & I am not allowed to change my model!

The software is glitchy, the camera is terrible, & when you accidentally hit the *TOUCH SENSITIVE* hang up button while texting (believe me this is all too easy to do!) then you are not prompted to save to drafts, you just go to the 'desktop' or whatever you call it.

DO NOT GET THIS PHONE!

Please.

For your own good. When I contact customer services, they say this is the most complained about phone they sell (The reseller said this not Samsung) & it is the one they have to return most.

Don't let this phone fool you, it looks great, with its mirror finish & high specifications for a reasonable prise but once out of the box there are a few things Samsung don't tell you like the poor camera quality for one hardly the good quality cameras usually produces from Samsung.

I previously had the Samsung z400, that was a great phone the camera was sharp even when printing out. But the worst thing about the Samsung E840 is that the memory card does not connect properly with the phone if you want to use any of the photos as wall paper or add the songs to your MP3 they have to be copied to the phone defeating though whole purpose for the memory card.

Overall it is an average phone which promises more than it can deliver. The only big plus about this phone is the design which looks great.

This is an okay phone however I have many problems with it.

After a while the slider on the phone becomes sticky & the screen can become really dirty requiring daily cleaning!

The number buttons can be difficult to press sometimes due to the outer edge & so this phone is not great for people with bigger hands. The touch screen, for me, is awful. I keep phoning people when going through my contacts. Grrrrr.

The phones music player takes quite a while to switch on & so does the camera.

The phone scratches very easily & so I recommend separating it & coins into different pockets.

I recently purchased this phone. I was a bit uneasy about choosing one I knew what it had to have. Looking in Carphone Warehouse this phone instantly caught my attention. It has a stunning mirrored screen! I was debating between this phone & the Sony W810i.

I had read a lot about how fabulous the W810i was but I decided that I would take a walk on the wild side & buy this one. I simply wanted a good camera which could record videos & a phone which played music. Since buying this phone it has never seized to amaze me it has more than I first expected. All my friends think this phone is ace & it is.

Personally the touch screen is perfectly fine. & as for having fat fingers I wouldn't know. This phone has the F in fun, defiantly one to consider! I also don't understand how people have problems with the phone book it is easy & simple. It is easy to move things to your computer via USB all you have to do is install a CD & away you go.

This phone gets 10/10 every time!

READ FOR GREAT ADVICE

Bought this phone from a well known UK mobile phone shop chain (CPW) on pay as you go for only £89 (& unlocked too) - very nice deal, as no need to obtain annoying unlocking puk code, if you wish to swap sims around.

Style wise: Samsung speaks for itself - very nice & slim with a sleek high glossy shine. Slips into shirt pocket just nicely.

Ease of use: Can be a little trickier than most phones to use as some of the keys are standard buttons, but others are touch screen type. Personally, I find it tricky, as you have to remember to press the touch screen buttons lighter than the standard buttons.

Overall: This is a nice phone, with lots of features & for the cash - a good deal. Battery life is OK for a phone of this thinkness & I personally average about 4 days between charge ups (that's with making a fair few calls too).

Should you buy one?
For £80 to £90 then you can't go wrong, & would pay a lot more for a phone of this standard with 2 mega pixel camera, radio, MP3, 262k resolution screen & speaker phone.

I think this phone is pretty good, but I found it difficult to part with my old Sony phone as it had a built in Walkman & this sound system is a bit dull sounding.

One thing I cannot figure out is why my contacts in my phone book are Last Name, First Name? Is there a way I can change these round as it is driving me mad?

Apart from this I have nothing bad to add about this phone.

This phone is not easy to use if you have large hands. If you like touch buttons then it's a good phone, the camera is quite good for a 2 megapixel camera with no flash. The music player is also good, especially with a 2GB micro SD. However, the phone is very top heavy when the slider is open, the battery only lasts about 3 days & if you are out in the freezing cold & have to call somebody then don't bother because the touch buttons don't work in the cold.

I love getting a new phone & playing with it, & I even read the instruction book eventually. So, hugely excited when I got this but. It's horrible! The sound quality is dreadful, it feels cheap & tacky & the controls seem to have a mind of their own so that even making/answering a call is a chore. I want my old phone back! This thing is a pain. The worst thing is that it'll randomly ring people without pressing a button, & that it'll also randomly cancel things. Great when you're online & have done about a gazillion searches to get where you were in the first place.

It's not a small phone either. It might be flat, but it's wider than your average phone. The menus are even more illogical than the ones on other Samsung phones (don't think you can find the world clock settings under 'settings' because that'd be logical).

The 'touch' buttons either don't respond or respond when you haven't pressed them. The other buttons are sunken into the phone & give you sore fingers when texting. Most of the games are 'demo' games & you have to buy the full versions. It has no 'reject' option when you get a call. Lovely when you're in a different time zone & someone rings you at 4am, Grrr.

I am getting another D600i as soon as I can. Much nicer phone.

READ ALL OTHER REVIEWS THEN READ THIS. I am known to my peers to be something of a 'gadget freak', new phone every week etc, but not anymore. Since buying this phone I never cease to be amazed by the many things this phone is capable of which on many a 'smart' phone, you have to pay extra for. For example: rejecting unwanted calls with a text message, a reminder system that allows you to set a reminder for the start time of a radio programme, a contact ID system that shows a full size picture of the caller.

What about the phones clever unseen stuff? A message arrives, you've not read it yet, the display gives a magnificent visual display that changes it concept daily, until you've read it, & the really clever stuff. Throughout the day the screen changes 'till at night time, the sky has changed to night, the birds have gone to bed, & the stars come out! WOW.

Beware! A word of caution, yes those keys are very sensitive & like me, you could end up ringing the wrong people at the wrong time (a lot!), but seriously, a GREAT phone. Buy one & enjoy.

Good things are:

- Camera is brilliant, flash is there.
- OS is good.
- Bigger Screen.
- FM Radio.
- It's at an affordable price.

Bad things are:

- Only thing bad is top 4 buttons, they are sensitive.

But when you get used to it. It won't be a problem!

I earlier used Nokia 6300 n Sony Ericsson Z550.but I can proudly say ' This is the best & everyone should get it'.

This phone is the best! I have had many phones up to about 13, in the last 2 years. Many phones I have managed to scratch especially when it's in my bag, but this there is none & no finger prints which I hate especially when trying to take a photo, that gets really annoying. I know what I am looking for in gadgets, so they have to be really good & as for the 2 mega pixel camera you can't go wrong, the quality is great, it looks very much like the LG shine, great phone price approximately £89.99.
