Samsung E820 Review

The Samsung E820 is a high quality & very attractive mobile phone which comes in an effective silver & grey coloured casing. The phone has a semi automatic slide opening mechanism which is very smooth, quiet & opens with very little effort from the user. The E820 has the same slide opening mechanism as the popular Samsung D500 & Samsung D600 but the feature on these phones are different.

The internal TFT screen which displays 65k provides a very clear quality display. The phone comes with an integrated high quality VGA camera which includes a digital zoom. The camera offers the user some great digital effects including various photo effects, frames & a multishot option which allows the user to take up to fifteen pictures with this feature.

The integrated speakerphone come with an echo cancellation feature which cancels out all unwanted echos. The voice clarity functions which ensures the user get the best quality from their voice regardless of their location or situation. The user can be assured that they will be heard loud & clear regardless to their surrounding. The user can talk on their E820 in the middle of a crowd & the phone will automatically increase the volume & clarity of the call.

The phone makes it possible for the user to send multimedia messages (MMS) which is the next step up from sending a text messages (SMS). A multimedia message allows the user to send a combination of photos, images, music, voice & text all in one message to any MMS compatible mobile phone. The phone comes with text messaging (SMS) complete with learning T9 support & enhanced messaging service (EMS).

The Samsung E820 comes complete with Java™ games which are already embedded & it is possible for the user to download many more Java™ based games of their very own choice.

The phone comes with great data transfer methods which include IrDa, fax & PC serial cable transfer.

My parents want to buy me a mobile which has surprised me & this phone sounds well good enough, so better pass the info on to the oldies.

Lovely looking phone & love the slide opening system. The phone has a tendence to shut down & it seems to happen when I am on a call , so I am forever ringing people up & saying "sorry I don't know what happened there?". This is not just a once a month error, this happens at least once a day sometimes up to 4 times a day. I have not thrown it yet but believe me it is going & the information on this site may help me to have a look at a different manufacture.

Borrowed this phone off my brother for a few days as I was going away on a short trip. I think this is a super little phone & so simple forward to use.

Stay well away from this phone there is a problem with the Samsung E820, I know two of my mates have this phone as well as myself & we are all having the same problems with it. The phone likes to just freeze in the middle of a request. It is very temperamental & drives me crazy. My mates feel exactly the same, we are all waiting to trade them in, if we can last that long...

I'm a mum & have two daughters one 16 & one the other 14, I had one of these phones & thought it was ok. My 16 year old asked to borrow it has she was going for a sleep over at her friends. At the time I thought she was being very responsible, that was a few weeks ago she's very fashion conscious & I am still waiting for it to be returned. I didn't realise that it was a fashion accessory & I was a trend setter. Now my 14 year old as been nagging me for one so I've been out & brought another 2.

Turns itself off, tends to freeze when I am moving around the menus, shuts off in the middle of calls. Liked the design & the overall look of the phone but I am sorry to say that the negatives have outweighed the positives in experience.

What a super little phone this is. I am amazed that it is so reasonably priced, there's not many high tech features on it so if you just want a basic phone then this is it.
