Samsung E770 Review

The Samsung E770 is a style conscious & elegant mobile phone that comes in a black or silver coloured casing. The phone is highly useable as it comes with a Flash menu system which allows the user to select an icon which will then be enlarged for the user to select the option they desire. The handset measures 90 x 46.2 x 19.8 mm & weighs 85 grams which provides the user with a lightweight & compact mobile phone. The E770 is from the E range designed by Samsung which includes the Samsung E700, Samsung E720 & the Samsung E760 but all the phones are extremely different in appearance & come with differing features which makes them all such individually desirable mobile phones.

The E770 comes with a internal TFT 262k colour screen which is 1.9 Inches in size & provides a brilliant 176 x 220 pixel screen resolution. The external screen is an OLED screen which provides a 65k colour display with 96 x 80 pixel screen resolution. The external screen allows the user to see important & useful information including the time, details of the contact who is calling, when a message arrives, music information, battery strength & network signal.

The phone comes with a integrated 1.3 megapixel camera which has a 4 x digital zoom & LED flash option. The user will be able to take photos of all their friends & places that they visit with this simple to use camera feature. The user can store their snaps, edit them, save them or send them to other contacts. The camera feature comes with a photo effect option & image editor which allows the user to amend & enhance their snaps to perfection. The E770 comes with a video feature which allows the user to record video in MPEG4 format which can be played back, sent to other contacts or stored on the phones memory. The user can record up to one hours worth of video footage depending on the phones shared memory availability. The user can enjoy using the TV output cable to connect their phone to a projector so that their video footage can be displayed for all to see on the large projector.

The Samsung E770 comes with an integrated music player which can play music in either MP3, ACC or ACC+ formats. The music player comes with a music hot key which is situated on the front of the phone, so therefore the user can easily switch between their favourite songs with a simple press of the hot key. The melody composer allows the user to become a disc jockey over night & create their own unique ringtones which can be selected as the incoming call ringtone. The user can select either polyphonic or MP3 ringtones which means the user can enjoy their favourite music by their favourite artist or band each time the E770 rings. The Samsung E770 allows the user to have a personal music experience by using a headset or enjoy their music with others over the speakers. The user can use a Bluetooth® stereo headset which allows the user to enjoy a wireless connection to their phone & can be purchased as an optional accessory.

The E770 comes with a VibeTonz feature which works like a vibration alert but it is in time & synchronized with the user choice of ringtone. The user will be able to tell which of their contacts is calling by the rhythm of the Samsung E770. The VibeTonz feature can change the vibration strength, frequency, duration & rhythm which allows the user to enjoy different vibes for their ringtones, message alerts & gaming tones. The phone comes four embedded Java™ games & the user can download more games to suit their gaming needs.

The user can enjoy keeping in contact with friend & family with the use of the messaging services provided on the Samsung E770. The phone comes with multimedia messaging service which allows the user to create a message complete with text, sound, photo or video. The multimedia message is easy to create & can be sent to any multimedia messaging compatible device. The user will be able to share all of their latest moments with those closest to them by attaching their recent photos & video recordings. The phone comes with a text messaging service which is a quick & simple way to send messages to others. The text message can contain text only but with the use of the predictive text feature the input method is extremely quick as the users words are predicted for them.

The phone comes with 80 Mbytes of internal memory & the user can expand this memory easily by using the TransFlash™ memory card slot. The memory cards can be inserted & removed very easily & the user can expand the memory up to 512 Mbytes. The Samsung E770 works on a tri band network coverage which allows the user to use their phone over GSM900, GSM 1800 & GSM 1900 networks. The phone will automatically which between bands to ensure the user receives the best network coverage possible. The phone allows the user to experience a wireless connection to other compatible devices including headsets, printers, personal computers & laptops with the use of Bluetooth® wireless connectivity. The user can also connect to other devices easily by using a USB cable to connect. The Samsung E770 comes complete with Internet access which can be gained by using a WAP or XHTML. The user can print straight from their E770 with the use of Pictbridge or print wirefree with the use of Bluetooth®.

Samsung E770 is a great new phone & the camera is better than I expected. Both the sound & photo video quality is great. Haven't own a Samsung phone before & I am happy I have changed from the dull Nokia range. I did have a few problems sending MMS messaging but phoned my service provider for help. It is a bit on the slow side when using WAP but not that I will be using too much anyway.

I prefer the Samsung E760 in looks & feature than the E770. My brother has just got the E770 & I am not keen on the overall feel & design of the phone. The features are good but my brother has had a few issues with his phone & had to have a replacement due to the hinge being lose.

If you are reading my review you will aready know that the E770 is a gorgeous & compact phone. It has a 1.3 mega pixel camera & I thought it was a 2 mega pixel camera when I bought it. It works well & the camera is very good for a camera phone. Bluetooth is a good feature & I wouldn't consider buying a phone without it now. Not a cheap phone but it is still a good buy.

Fab performance phone. Seen the phone advertised before its release date & want it. It was not such a good deal on this phone as it was in the latest phone range but hey money isn't important when you are buying a phone that needs to last at least a year. The manual is easy to follow although I haven't referred to it as much as I thought I would. Menus are colourful, easy to use & fab. I am always snapping away with my 1.3 mega pixel camera & the zoom x 4 & flash make the end result fab. Music is clear, loud as I like it & good fun. Videoing is cool & it's not like my mates phone which records a few seconds worth of video. Videoing up to 20 minutes with no problems at all, apparently the phone can record up to 1 hour but I am not going to test it as I will get a serious arm ache, I will take their word for it. This is a bit like a life story but in general iI am very pleased with my E770 & would very highly recommend it to others.

Good camera, good recording, brill music, easy operation of all functions. If you have got the E770 get a 256 MB mini SD TF card for heaps of memory.
