Samsung E720 Review

The Samsung E720 is a very compact & stylish mobile phone. The clam shell opening mechanism is very smooth but at the same time very solid. The E720 comes in a very sexy two tone silver coloured casing which makes it very desirable. In the closed position the external screen displays a clock face which is both practical & sleek at the same time.

The Samsung E720 looks like the Samsung E710 in shape but the different coloured casing makes them look very individual & the E720 has a couple of updated features. The Samsung E700 is still a very attractive, reliable & well featured mobile phone designed beautifully by Samsung.

Music brings life to the Samsung E720 with a built in music player which plays MP3, AAC, & AAC+ formats of stored music. The phone comes with an external music key which is a button situated on the external casing of the E720. The user can simply access their stored music files with a press of this button & play their favourite tunes over & over again. The phone comes complete with 64 polyphonic & MP3 ringtones which provides the phone with some good sound quality ringtones.

The E720 includes a megapixel digital camera with built in 4 x digital zoom & LED flash. The phone comes with great photo taking modes which include multi shot & the user can make a really personal statement when it comes to their photography. The user can decorate their own photos using photo effects, frames & even add a twist to their image by using vertical flip. The photos can be viewed on the phones internal screen which provides a 262k colour TFT display on a 176 x 220mm screen.

The phone has a very good video record feature which is extremely user friendly & it is great fun to use. The E720 allows the user to record up to one hour's worth of footage in MPEG4 video. The integrated microphone makes it possible for the user to add their own sound to all their recording which really brings the video to life.

The E720 has Bluetooth® wireless technology which gives the user freedom with regard to data sharing, mobile printing & wirefree connections. The phone offers the user a large amount of internal memory (88.5 Mega Bytes) which is great for storing all of those photos, video recordings, messages, phone book information & much more. The user can simple save at ease because the Samsung E720 will not let them down with its onboard memory.

I've had this phone for almost 5 years & couldn't wish for a better phone, saying this my phone has just started to occur a problem, this is that all the volume & vibrating has decided to stop working :(. I am looking to buy another one of the same model though.

Very Good Phone, however speaker quality is very poor & I find the keys annoying. Anyway the flip mechanism is very robust. Can go through a lot of strain, music keys are very handy.

Well I have had this phone for 2 years & it's till going strong. The Design & shape is good but I am afraid the camera is pretty poor. Memory can fit about 9 songs depending on what else you have on there.

Would recommend this phone for someone who is looking for a simple phone to hold a few songs & calling & text but if you want more then don't get it.

Had it for 2 years, paid 180, seems a lot now but I have never kept a phone this long. Can be annoying that the camera turns on in my bag or pocket because of the outside keys but doesn't bother me that much, speakers aren't very loud but does the job. This phone is amazingly durable, I have dropped it every day almost since I have had it, its scratched to pieces & had some water on it, & it still works exactly the same, love the outside screen so you don't have to open it to see if you have texts (although it goes through stages of not showing the text envelope, weird? ). Battery doesn't last as long anymore but I have never had a phone for 2 years so could be normal. Love the layout of the phone. Seems to have infinite memory, I have hundreds of pictures (from being taken in my bag! ), about 10 songs at the moment, & on occasion I have up to 200 odd texts on there, & it still keeps going! Camera does the job, nice features like adding frames & effects & what not. I am only wanting a new phone now because I fancy a pink phone! Other than that I reckon my phone would last a long time!

I love the phone. Just one complaint though. Even on the highest Level 5 Volume, it's not loud enough to hear sometimes & I've found that I've got missed calls.

I have this phone more than 2 years. It looks fashionable & nice. I am really satisfied with its quality except I have problem with hands-free connection, as I cannot properly hear the other person. I have bought an extra hands-free & it was working good about one week & then continued with the same story. Another disadvantage it has as the low quality of speakers, although other things it has just fine.

This must be tough little phone as I can't count the amount of times I'v dropped it (on concrete, down the stairs, skimmed it across gravel & even nearly potted it up with some petunias!).I'v also tripped over the charging cable while on charge but this doesn't hurt it. I love the Motorola's but the ones I'v had before have all packed up after a year, the speaker & charging socket broke on two that I have had before. My only complaints are that the camera/video turns on in my bag or pocket so I then have to delete loads of photos I'v taken of myself turning the function off! Also the speaker is a bit fuzzy, can't say that calls are crystal clear at all. Overall this is a hard working phone that I won't be changing until it completely breaks down on me, which if the last 20 months of flinging it around are to go by then that won't be for a long time. & when it does I'll probaly get another Samsung.

I have this phone since November of 2005 (that would make it 10 months)

Drawbacks:
1. When I make calls or text at my pad using this phone I sometimes get poor reception/signal if not sometimes none at all. However, when I switched my sim card to another phone (using the same number) I got through & was able to send sms message with more success (so this made me believe it could have not been the carrier but the phone itself). This phone really made me a lot of "repeat sending" until it sends sms successfully.
2. When I had problems with the headset, I could not find any Samsung shops that sell the same or even compatible headsets. Support or customer service is poor
3. When I tried to use the Bluetooth & transfer my pics to ANY photoshop (Kodak shops etc...), the Bluetooth of this phone is not compatible with ALL the shops here compared to other mobile phones. (Good thing I can send my pics through email)
4. I cannot use any sound.wav files as ringtones & message tones.

Benefits
1. I like the camera... I look good on it.
2. Easy to use phone.
3. I love the colors & the screen is simply amazing (except it u use the phone directly under the sun but hey -> I don't even wanna go under the sun in the Philippines. hehe pretty hot)
4. Also love the feature where I can delete all or choose the ones I can delete messages at the same time.

Great looking phone. I've had it for 10 months now. Camera is spot on you have a built in flash. Which is great in the dark when you can't find the cat in the garden? Love the way you can put frames on your pictures. Down load quick. Good size memory, the only think I was not pleased with was you can't change the message tone to a tune & if you put track on for a ring tone there not very load when your out side I have missed many call's through this. Also I like you can have to picture screens one on the cover & one on the main screen & most of it's so easy to use.

Its a good phone quite simple, but some things are lacking that could have easily been integrated, such as a memory card option, better battery life, ringtones & vibration at the same time. But there are good things about it as well, such as the video. It's just amazing, I haven't seen a phone that gives such smooth video. My dad has a w800i & his video is worse than mine! The camera is decent, 1MP, but not for those crazy about camera phones. Loudspeaker should have been, but I suppose it would have ruined the sleek design of the phone. The same would probably go to the memory card option & the better battery life, which would have demanded a bigger battery. Not much I hate about the phone, just some simple things, but it's a nice phone. The review kinda misleads you because it says the second LCD screen shows an analogue clock. it is true, but it can also be used as a self-portrait screen when taking a pic or video of yourself (hold the picture button while phone is closed, & privacy is disabled), it can show what MP3 is playing, you can add a wallpaper instead of a clock as well (only JPEGs though, no GIFs), & it shows you if you have a missed call or a message without having to flick the phone open.

It's a good phone, all in all, but there are better ones out there now, obviously, but if someone is looking for a cheap phone with decent features, this is definitely perfect.

I got this phone just before Christmas 2005 & it was quite expensive when I bought it, £150, but now I am so glad I did. It is probable the best phone I have ever had & it has everything I need on the go. Music, games, camera & even a bright light on the front! It does not quite make 100% because it should have had a SD card slot because it does not have enough memory space to put a lot of music & video files. Overall though, great phone!
