Bought for a Xmas present but after 6 months of very little use screen went blank. Informed by retailer that LCD screen damaged by excessive force? What is excessive force? Wanted £70 to repair a £30 PHONE. Don't think so, so will be changing network as well.

I got this phone today arrived swiftly & I couldn't wait to hastily unpack my new mobile. As phones appear to be getting more expensive by the minute such as the iPhone & BlackBerry's for example I was extremely pleased with my purchase. I wanted a decent phone with features such as Bluetooth & a camera. The camera isn't the best but for £26 I am not complaining! Add in a 2GB memory card & away you go. Extremely pleased.

WOW!
I love this phone! It is perfect for texting & phoning, good quality sound (& good quality headphones which come with it) & a pretty good camera!
Seriously for the price it is at it is an amazing deal! I have had mine for 1 & a half years & such a reliable little phone. Looks great, IS GREAT!
To these people who are complaining about music storage, buy an MP3, iPod or those complaining about the camera, buy a camera! For those complaining about memory, you should have researched it better before buying it! The memory is clearly stated on hundreds of sites, & if you needed a higher memory you should have done better research!
Definitely recommend, absolutely great phone! One VERY happy customer!

Memory is pretty awful, but can be fixed with a memory card. Operating system is excellent & prices have come down to as low as £25. I bought mine 2 years ago for £65 & it has never broken at all. I have one problem with the calls, when I take it out if bag or pocket when slid shut to answer it, it always says I have missed the call. Predictive text is great, even for a non predictive user like me. Camera is awful quality, but okay sometimes in bright sunlight. Have dropped it a couple of times- was fine! Screen is bright & the message box has loads of room unlike my previous Motorola that could only have 20 messages in the inbox. Address book is fabulous, can hold photo ID, caller ID notes on person, anything you could dream of. The radio is OK, but is annoying to have to have headphones in. The speaker is quiet. The design is simplicity modern & fits nicely in a pocket.
All in all a great phone for prices it is available at now! Go on T Mobile Pay & Go, cheap & great coverage.

An overall good mobile phone I got mine for £35.00 & it's worth the money the MP3 players great I think though you should have more memory on the actual phone as well as a memory card. The FM radio is good but the radio can't get any AM & MW stations & it's pretty annoying that you have to have your head phones in to listen to it, the image editor is alright but you can't access the memory card so I personally don't use it. The java games are like all Samsung phones. The call isn't good quality because you can't ring 0800 numbers it costs unlike other mobiles I think anyone who wants a posh phone shouldn't buy this!

I bought this phone last year & I have to admit despite the rubbish battery life it's pretty much usable. I have dropped it repeatedly even into the road, throw it against a wall repeatedly among other things yet it still survived! I think that it you are looking for a cheap but decent phone & don't mind charging EVERY SINGLE DAY & replacing you headset every month or so (trust me they will break).
I think this phone is a good choice :).

For those of you having trouble getting the back off your phone (any phone) Put on a rubber glove & use the palm of your hand to push it off. They showed me this trick in the Carphone Warehouse.
Downsides to this phone.
- Bad coverage, can get cut off in middle of call, often get limited service message.
- No cable to transfer music from computer to phone, having said that, Bluetooth is easy to set up (my first time) & super quick.

Quite a good phone. I don't actually have this phone, it's my mum's (& my bros got one as well.
First up, Samsung please actually try to give your users a good camera. My Chocolate has a 1.3MP camera & is about the same price.
The tones could be better, so boring tones. Mum has had problems with annoyingly bad speaker.
Bluetooth very quick.

I bought the phone brand new & it's always been perfect. It had full bars when I first loaded it up, so I was curious. Contacted Samsung & they told me that it was supposed to be like it, but it needed charging.
Great phone, great features. Good phone, cheap price. What more does anyone want.
It has all the normal features, camera, Bluetooth, video playback, Internet, MP3, radio.
Great Phone overall.

Purchased online via Vodafone. Fast delivery however completely unable to insert battery as a result of battery cover being stuck! Returned to Vodafone who then promptly sent the original, faulty, unit back to me. Still unable to remove battery cover. Sent back to Vodafone & payment refunded.
Apart from the dreadful customer service I have since discovered that many units of this model exhibit the same problem I.e. Battery cover sticks.
Wouldn't touch Samsung again & certainly wouldn't purchase from Vodafone. Nice, feature rich unit. Pity about the battery cover problem.

First of all the people that paid more than £29.00 for this phone you were ripped off, it's a very good phone lots of features. The downside is the volume if your in a noisy place when the phone rings you won't hear it, I put some loud music on mine to use as a ringtone. I brought 2 one for me & one for the wife £58.00 for 2 phones is good value.
Reviewer: Devonian - Devon, UK

Bargain priced phone, packed with features & unlike so many modern phones it's very easy to text with, only downside is the Internet button on the updated version makes it very easy to go online in error & get charged. & to all those complaining about lack of memory GET A MEMORY CHIP! They only cost a fiver!

I've had this phone for a few months now & am really happy to be swapping it. It is easy to use & has a good battery life but thats pretty much the only good things about it. It lacks in features & memory & has switched of by itself a lot of times even with a full battery. This really is not a very good phone.

I have not had the phone for long but so far, so good. It looks sleek & stylish & has worked well. Still waiting for the blank screen problems which other people have had!
However, the User's Guide is a disgrace. Tells you what the phone does, but not how to do it & all this on cheap & flimsy paper.

Great little phone for the price, (40 quid) have had problems with the menu keys freezing for sometimes hours, but only about 4 times in a year. Navigation is a bit hard to start with & the block list is still hard to access after a year!
But overall a good little phone :).

Overall this is a very good phone, good features & a good design. The only downside to the phone is that when you play MP3's they are not very loud these are with the earphones unplugged. I bought this phone from a phone dealer in the nearby high street for £45 if I remember lately, I used the phone for about a year then passed it onto my brother, the camera is quite good for a 1.3 mp so it's quite good for out & about. A must have for taking snaps of friends, family or anything you want to take a picture of. Love the Facewarp is well. Made my brother look funny so that made my day :).

I have had my e250 for over a year now & I have never had a problem with it. This phone does everything you want in a phone perfectly, I don't really need a mass of features on a phone so I wasn't disappointed with the simplicity of it. I have a bad habit of breaking every phone I have ever owned but this one has been dropped at least once a week since I have had it but there has never been so much as a hint of it of anything going wrong. However I am now getting a new phone but I would recommend the e250 to anybody who wants a simple & surprisingly indestructible phone with great sound quality.

I've had this phone now for about 3 months, & I love it! It has everything I need, I've dropped it tons of times & it's still living.
I've never had a problem with it. The memory isn't that good, but all you need is a memory card with only cost a few quid of the Internet.
The only problem I have with it is that the battery only lasts a couple of days for me, but I do use Bluetooth a lot & use it as my MP3 player.

It is great but not great for games I bought burnout 4 it is about 20MB but the game is trying to go to the phone memory. Great phone & very cheap. Only £39! So great phone bad resolution & great body! Whooop!

I've had this phone for about 3 months now, & after reading all the other reviews my thoughts were, what have I done.
It may not surf the Internet, show you where you are on (goggle maps) or down load at top speeds, but most of the time (99.9%) I use it as a phone, & as a phone I've no problems with it. The sound is good & everyone I phone says they can hear me Very clearly
Others are saying the MP3 player can only hold 3 or 4 song. Well get micro SD card. I've got a 2Gig & it cost me a couple of quid & holds loads.
The only thing I will say is. If you're going to buy this cheap little phone, is get onto eBay & buy a silicon cover, just for peace of mind.

Great phone for the price! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap but useable phone, definitely!
Camera kind of lets it down as does the memory & I don't recommend it to those who like to listen to music while doing other things on the mobile as it is not possible.
Its fine with a 2GB MicroSD card maximum. Any bigger & it won't recognise it! But great sound quality in loudspeaker.
Good buy.

Great phone, just don't drop it. I dropped it once outside, & the screen smashed, leaving a massive crack & the LCD screen all jarred up. It was fuzzy & had lines going over it. Replacement screen £50, don't think so. Replaced with the LG KS360. I had this phone about a year ago now.

Bought this Samsung in July 2008, within 2 weeks half the screen went blank. Returned to the shop who changed it, but within 4 weeks half the screen went blank & damage appeared on the screen. Sent off to Samsung who again said it was damage we had caused which wasn't the case. I'll never buy a Samsung again!

This phone is okay but not great. If your looking for your first ever mobile, then this phone would be ideal.
I have had my phone for about a year now. & it's already broken. I have kept it in top condition. No scratches or anything. & now the screen keeps going white & turning itself off!
It's very easy to use, especially texting. But this phone doesn't have Walkman, so when you want to play a song it takes forever to go through all of your songs.
I would only recommend this phone if you would like it for a short space of time.

Good phone for the money (£29 from Tesco Direct) whilst it lasted, BUT screen display problems after 6 months have spoilt the experience.
Returned to it to Tesco (very efficient service) but was told the problem was to do with the LCD module, probably caused by pressure & NOT covered under Samsung warranty, repair cost £50! Ha Ha! I don't think so! Anyway make sure you don't try to clean the screen by rubbing with a cloth.
Now investigating new phones, not Samsung obviously & might even risk a tenner on a replacement screen from Hong Kong. A product fit for purpose? I think not.

After 9 months the screen started going blank & a month later it went blank completely. Samsung said the wires inside were oxidised suggesting it had been in contact with water which was not the case. They refused to repair or replace it under guarantee. When it was bought it cost 145 Euros but a year later it is selling at 75 Euros. Even at this price I would not recommend it.

Great design for the cheap pricing, also, it does everything a standard mobile phone does. A simple, cheap alternative to other overpriced phones. Battery life is OKAY. It's not as bad as others make out. Yes, it isn't the longest lasting battery life, but it isn't terrible. The usability of this phone is decent. You get what you pay for I guess.

Very pleased with this phone, much prefer it to my old phone, a Motorola v3. Have had it since January 2008. Long battery life & very strong! I am dropping it all the time, but it hasn't broken on me or frozen once! Very Happy with this.
Nice looking little phone, with good features. Very easy to use. However, the headphones broke & are completely useless now, gutted! But they aren't good headphones anyway, I didn't like them at all. Need to buy new ones for my phone, anyone know where?
It takes a while to get the battery cover off, very difficult to do so. The slide action isn't very pleasing either.

A good value phone. If you are looking for a phone that does the basics & a few extras this is perfect. BUT the music player is not very good. You have to put your songs into 4 playlists, & you can only have 30 songs in a playlist. On the whole a decent phone.

The phone looks nice & does what it is sold to do except texting is awkward.
Main problem I found was that the screen went blank after 4 months & on returning it I was told it was not covered by the warranty & that a repair would cost 50% more than the original cost! Needless to say I went & bought a Nokia!

I bought my Samsung E250, about a month ago. Actually I bought two, one for me & one for my wife & for the record, it's our first slider.
First of all I was attracted by the well balanced price & features offer that came with the phone, a very good VGA camera, MP3 player, video player, stereo FM radio & many other things for the price of 75 Euros.
Secondly, I bought it because it's quite nice & it looks similar to many other much expensive Samsung models :P.
Concerning my experience using this phone, I can say it's more than OK for our daily use. I watched a couple of forums & found out how to access the technical menus of the phone, to increase the sound volume & also I searched the net for a 3GP free converter that I found after a couple of days. So now we can listen to music (I've also bought 2 memory cards mini SD), watch movies & of course. Chit chat on the phone. Besides that I can find some minuses also. My Samsung's slide is a bit loose, & this feature is also present in almost any other E250 that I know of. I said almost because my wife's is just fine. Hmm, that's a mystery for me.
Also the battery doesn't do wonders & it lasts between one & three days in medium to high usage, both as a phone & as a MP3 player.
& that's about all. For the time being I am more than satisfied of my investment & I hope I won't have any unpleasant surprises.

I bought my E250 about 3 months back (my first Samsung mobile phone) & have had no real problems with it unlike some other of the reviewers here, but the battery life is very short & after listening to the radio & a few downloads from the wap net I find I have to charge it up again very quickly. Not a good thing for something that is made specifically for media players of all kinds (MP3, FM radio, WAP, etc.). Next phone I will look at battery life details first!

Now have useless phone, Samsung will not admit to problem, advise to any would be buyer, you may be lucky, but many people suffering from the same problem, & Samsung will not acknowledge this.

Hey I have had this phone for about a year now & I dropped it the other day & now the server doesn't work & I have been told that I have to buy a new one, I would honestly recommend that you don't buy this phone, it is a waste of money & time, the battery life is terrible I have to charge it every night & it scratches really easily. The settings are gay because you can't play songs while your Bluetoothing & they go straight to the phone memory instead of the memory card. You can't set songs as your message tone you just have to use the standard ones (which are still) the camera & video are really bad & the message memory is shocking, don't get it I would recommend a Nokia.

I bought one of these phones for the missus. I loved it that much I bought myself one. Hers is in lilac, mine black. This phone is loaded with features & here are some of my favourites.
Alarm clock switches the phone on if you switch it off at night & activates the alarm (saving lots of battery power).
Camera, full of extras & both still & video mode have great zoom functionality. Frames are nice in still mode.
SOS emergency alert, what a brilliant idea for those with dangerous jobs or pastimes. Set the alert to text a message to numbers you put in (e.g. The wife, boss etc) & in an emergency, if for any reason you are unable to fully use the button to call you press the volume key 4 times & the message is sent. Option to resend is also a bonus & the phone is auto answered when the person rings your phone.
MP3 player, wicked & simple to use. Even comes with Bluetooth!
I rate this phone very highly & is worth every penny so if you want a cheapish phone with all the extras of an expensive one then this is the phone for you.

Not a bad phone, & I picked it up new for a bargain £9 (yep nine quid). It has lots of great features, such as camera, video, tri band etc. One bug bear is that for the price I paid I have a lilac phone, but I am not too worried about the colour! It is compact & works well.
Only downside appears to be the poor battery life, which means charging it up every night, adding to my already high electricity bill. One question, is it possible to get a picture from the my folder to wallpaper. That could be another downside, but it was a cheap phone & to be fair there are many great features.

Can anyone recommend a good new phone around £100 (Samsung) I've had the phone about a year & a half & my Mums giving me money to get a new phone, I want a Samsung, stylish phone, with a good camera.

MY REVIEW IS QUITE LONG BUT WORTH READING!
Hi, I've had this phone for about a year now & bought it for £60. It was a great investment & hasn't faulted once, I've dropped it down the stairs, on rocks, got it wet & still it hasn't broke. The battery life is average & could do with lasting longer but considering I've had it a year it's acceptable.
The only reason I am selling it is because I feel things move on & I'd like to get a more trendy phone & upgrade. I've just been reading through the Samsung U700 reviews & that has put me off getting one, a friend of mine has one & it's broke once before but I thought that was just faulty but after reading the reviews I have changed my mind! Can anyone recommend me a good stylish Samsung under the price of £150?
The E250 is very simple to use & easy to find your way around, great for people who don't want to read page after page of instructions. The camera does what it says & I've been very pleased with the quality of photos.
The memory status isn't great if you want lots of music & pictures & I would advise you to buy a memory card.
Overall this phone is great & I would recommend it! X.

I paid £20 YES £20 by upgrading my old rubbish mobile (NEC) at the Orange Shop, as I was already on Orange I didn't have to pay for £10 phone time (Pay AYG)it cost nothing too transfer my number.
I really like my E250 (Blue Metal) the screen is clear & a good size, the Bluetooth is really fast & I managed to get a 1 GB micro SD for less than £3 inc postage @ eBay.
I don't know why some people are complaining about the battery life, mine's fine, maybe they use it a lot more than me?
Good things, cool looking, easy to use features & settings, feels solid, thin enough so it doesn't bulge your pocket, VERY cheap, Nice sound from speaker, MP3 player, FM Radio.
Bad Things, Limited text message tones, Plugging in cables is fiddly &Camera mediocre.
If you need a solid, no frills mobile that you won't be embarrassed to show off to your friends, this is it.

My wife has owned one of these for around a year. Excellent battery life be it standby or call, bright visible screen & for the price very competitive.
So it's not feature rich but does that matter when 95% of the time all we use phones for is calls, texting & the odd game.
In fact she liked it so much that when we changed our provider she got the same phone but in silver this time.

It's a great phone. Good camera, battery's good, & offers expandable memory. It does however fail with its design. The slide mechanism is awful as you constantly slide your phone when you want to fully use it. As for the features it offers quite a lot. It has an MP3 player, Camera, rubbish games, FM & so on. Bad thing about its features is the MP3 player. You have to turn off the MP3 player when you get a message or when you want to do other stuff with your phone.
It's a phone worth buying if you're tight on budget. If you want a phone that offers playing MP3, don't get this phone.

Hey people, I just found out how to extend the battery life for like 2 days without plugging in the charger!
- Go to menu.
- Then SETTINGS.
- Then NETWORK SERVICES.
- Then go to BAND SELECTION.
Your band selection will be TRI BAND change it to GSM 900 & 1800 because TRI BAND always looks for a better connection & uses too much of battery & GSM is normal band so it doesn't uses battery so it will give you battery life up to minimum 2 days.

I have had this phone for over a year & has been really good value, as I only bought it for about £70 back then. Everything is still in great working order.
One thing I must say is that the slide can become a little stiff & hard to open, but that may be because I have dropped it a few times.
The Bluetooth is really fast, & if you have a memory card, the MP3 player comes into great use.
The camera is not very good, but for the money you would pay, you can't expect anything better.
I am still using this phone as there is no reason why I should get rid after reading all the reviews about the newest phones breaking & freezing.
It's a great buy, & enjoy using it.

This phone is one of a kind. I think that the price is cheap for this phone & this phone has all of the features you'd expect with a middle class phone. But I am having some problems with the battery. On the third day that I got my phone I have topped it up with 2000 texts. It only gave me three hours of texting to my mates from full battery & drained it to 0. But I have researched it on the web & it says that it gives you 250 hours standby, & gives you 5 hours of talk time straight up! But for texting it only gave me three hours! Is it even that thirsty when you text? Don't think so. The next day I took it back & they swapped me a new battery so I hope it's going to last ages for me. Bought it in black. Very sleek phone. LOL.

The Samsung E250 is a very simple phone to use. It has a great design to it so it is not bulky. The slide also gives it a classy feel.
It does have many features but lacks simple options such as zooming into large photos that are stored onto the phone. There is also a lack of message alerts (You can only choose 4).
It does have a large clear screen that can be read easily. The camera is basic which does not bother me because I don't use it much. Also it has a Mobile Tracker which tells you where your phone is if it is stolen.
It also has storage for a micro SD memory card for all your files.
Overall it's a nice phone that comes at a great price.
I would recommend it to people who use their phones as a music player & simply talks & texts.

Some of these reviews almost put me off buying this phone, & I am so glad they didn't! I love this phone. The lilac colour is pretty & tasteful, & the design is clever & compact. I can't stop looking at it! All this for £40.
The features are amazing, & so easy to use & navigate compared with some other nightmare phones I've had in the past. I can't believe how much they've packed into the phone for the price. The camera, although not the best, is pretty fabulous. The video is probably the only thing not so great, but I wasn't expecting to be able to shoot blockbuster movies on it anyway. I love how when you type in someone's number to call it comes up in a rainbow of colours, nice touch. The signal has been just as good as my last phone & no problems with the battery so far (although I am still in the honeymoon period) keeping my fingers crossed it stays that way. The only worry for me is the big glass screen, I've been so used to flip phone protection that I am just worried I am going to crack the screen, I've already dropped it once this morning. Oh & the back was pretty hard to get off, but that's what Dad's are for.

I can't save images seen on Internet. Will only grudgingly accept push downloads for instance. 2MB of memory used up with infant MMS gifs that won't delete.
It's difficult to get SIM card in & out in one piece. Tacky cheap memory slot & battery charge covers.
Charger wire snapped before first use (very thin, not like older heavy duty chargers. Samsung website very take it or leave it (pdf downloads), no help.

The camera quality is rubbish & the music doesn't play loud, but it's easy to navigate around & to work out how to use. The memory also is poor, but as many people have said, a memory card deals with this.
I have also found that after a while, because it is slide phone the grips it holds onto can get scratched & look ugly.
I have this phone on T Mobile & I don't know whether it is this net work, but I often fine that it says limited service or no service, even if I have full signal.

I know the camera is poor, but that's fine as I never use it. The music player is very good, & over all the phone is easy to use, however when sending SMS messages it is quite long winded, as you need to answer 20 questions first, before you send your message, the same can be said for the organiser, another 20 questions, when all I want to do is set a reminder, Nokia was good for this. Still I am satisfied it will do my job until I can get a new contract phone.

OK. Where do I start? It is easy to use buttons because they're quite big, & simple. Really nice slim design, which is all I expected from a Samsung. Simple contacts list which makes it easy to find the contact you are looking for, good for emergencies.
The music player is OK, & is good for what I need it for. I have had it for 3 months now, & haven't been disappointed with it at all, even though I'd much rather have the D900. The speaker isn't very loud, but that's OK.
Very personalisationable, if that's a word.
Camera is rubbish. I compared it with my Uncles Nokia N95 camera & it was so much better, but I don't really care about that.
Can I just say that, most people think that VGA means 1 megapixel, but it doesn't it means 0.3 megapixels, that's right 0.3.
I like this phone very much, & for 50 pounds, it is probably the best phone in its price range.
I hope you find my review helpful.

I Love This Phone! The Only Problems With Is it.
- It Has Rubbish Memory (Unless You Get A Memory Card).
- the Camera Doesn't Produce Very Good Quality Pictures.
- Even If You Have A Couple Bars Of Signal, It Still Says Limited Service & You Can Only Use It For Emergency Calls.
Other Than Those Few Points It's A Great Phone!

I am very happy with it, but I am shallow & only buy handsets based on looks, that I think go well with the car I get every 3 years, in the current case it's a black Vauxhall Zafira, & the Samsung E250 fits well with it :).
However I am thinking of buying a tomtom soon & was wondering if anyone knows whether this handset can connect to it. As the tomtom site supported list of phones says it hasn't been tested.
Is they any users of these products that can confirm if the handset & tomtom connects to each other via Bluetooth?

The E250 is nothing special but if you want a fairly basic phone at a reasonable price then it's OK.
If you do buy one just hope you don't get any problems where you need to contact Samsung Customer Services because in my experience they are rubbish & can & do give you wrong product information.

I have had the Samsung E250 for three months now & I am really pleased with it. The slider still works perfectly well & it had not broken. The internal memory could be better but if you buy a memory card then it is fine. Also the range of volumes for playing music isn't quite big enough, but then again it's a phone not an iPod. If you wanted a really good camera then I wouldn't get this phone but it is fine for quick pictured. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a cheapish, good phone which fits in your pocket easily & works.

To everyone below who is saying this phone is rubbish. I think it's an amazing phone. For £50 what do you people expect!
I think it's great for teenagers, I did have one but it got stolen, the memory is very small but you can buy a 1GB memory card for around £15 which will hold at least 250 songs, pictures & videos.
The camera is good & the music player is good, only when you're listening to music you can't go off the music player or the music stops if you get what I mean.
It's easy to use & all the buttons are spread quite far apart. It's easy to navigate around too.
Good.
- Camera & Video.
- Fairly Cheap.
- Big Screen.
- Music.
- Easy to use.
Bad.
- Battery Life, is fine unless constantly playing music & using camera.
Overall, it's a very good phone for someone e.g. A teenager who is on a fairly low budget, the only other phone I suggest you look at in this price range would be a Nokia 5200, which is really good for music.

The worst phone I have ever seen & used. Nokia phone gives me a good coverage, & Samsung e250 shows no service or no coverage. Sometimes it shows coverage but limited service, I.e. Only emergency calls can be done. If you want to use the phone for style then the phone is OK, but if you feel that the major purpose of phone is taking calls or speaking on phone then the phone is pathetic.

Just a quick note to follow up on the comment from 'Caitie' from Victoria, Australia Date: 19th Sep 2007' to say that you can listen to the radio without wearing the headphones. Radio reception is way better than any other small device I've used, I am very impressed. The headphones need to be plugged in as the cable acts as the reception aerial but there's an option to play through the phone's speaker somewhere, think it's option 6 in the radio menu. Unfortunately aren't paying extra for one at this price point!

Bought this from Argos on O2 for £60. Great looking phone, but slider can be dodgy sometimes trying to slide it one handed. Plus if you're thinking of getting one of those crystiline cases, forget it, I had it for about a month & after 2 to 3 drops on a carpet floor I couldn't put on the front piece anymore, one of the bad things about slider phones is you can't get any descent cases for them.
I mostly bought this phone for the features you can get, Bluetooth, MP3 player & FM radio & they were all quite easy to use but the FM radio required headphones, MP3 you didn't need them but you could only keep 30 songs on one playlist, bit of a letdown but wasn't too bothered.
I wasn't too bothered about the camera either, it's not bad but if you want a camera phone look somewhere else. The battery life is quite good, using a few times it lasts for about 3 to 4 days, often about 2 to 3 days. Take note that the battery drains twice as faster as normally when Bluetooth is activated.
Quite easy to use & navigate, easy to read, at first I tended to press the OK, I to activate the browser by accident from main menu but I got used to it after a while, if you want you can go to browser, profile settings & delete the addresses to stop it charging you if you accidently press it. All the other keys are easy to use, they're not touch sensitive.
Overall I think it was worth getting the phone in the end but next time I don't I'll get a slider phone, probably would get a candy bar or clamshell design.

The design of the phone is very good. But it carries some drawbacks that,
- There is a single port for both FM & charger because of that one can't play FM while charging.
- If the phone is on charging & you are using it, the phone become hot & interrupts in coverage.
- the stand by time is only almost 60 hours, & not 250 hours, which is shown on advertisements.
Except this it is a good phone.

One bad thing though, I have dropped the phone many times, each time leaving it with a dent, scratch or loss of colour, (I have a lilac one, some bits are silver where the colour has worn off.) but for some this may not bother you.

Reviewer: Chris - Edinburgh, UK

This is a nice phone & it does everything that you would want from a phone which, to be honest, is quite cheap considering what you get for your money. Only problems I can think with it are that the slide feature of the phone tends to start to stick after about 3 months, which is not the greatest, & the fact that it has a very low memory on it until you use a micro sd card, which is another £30 for a 1GB card, in reflection to the price of the handset I feel that £30 is quite expensive for a memory card. No other faults though.

Bought this phone yesterday & can say that it's not so bad as I thought, for a phone with VGA camera, FM RADIO, MUSIC PLAYER, MEMORY CARD SLOT & A2DP profile the cost is comparatively good, I got it for 4490Rs (INDIA).
OK about the phone's interface is OK but you got to get used to it, it works well I did not find any problem with it, then the display screen is not up to the mark it's OK, & the camera for a VGA is good & the sound's quality for an average user is excellent, trust me it's better than other mid range phones out there. FM is loud & overall you can get your money worth for this phone.
So if anybody out there just need a phone with all these features & can't afford to buy all the costly ones there go for this. IT'S REALLY WORTH FOR the MONEY YOU PAY.

As I am not into playing games, or using it as a music player the lack of memory that some other users have talked about doesn't really bother me. Yes there isn't a great choice of ringtones but I don't care for fancy ringtones either.

If you want to download lots of MP3's I recommend to get a memory card as without, the memory is very small & you will only be able to get a few tracks on it.
Also if you want to transfer music, games etc the easiest way is to get a dongle (these don't cost much). It is hassle free & dead easy to do. The only problem that I have is downloading games. I have new games on my phone but they are in the other files section & cannot access them can anybody help me with this.

- Very quite ringtones
Good points:
- Nice sleek design

- Good sound quality when listening to radio
- Pre-charged battery so you can play straight away
- Picture quality is OK
- You can record your own voice which can be a novelty at first!
- Comes with some decent earphones with the phone so you can listen to the radio

Previously I was used my Samsung X200 model really I am satisfied with the handset because of its style, menu, design, tones & particularly clarity of display & totally I loved it.
According to my previous experience with the Samsung Company I purchased E250 with the lot of faith. But it's showing one of the poor model in the Samsung Company.
We can glad about its style with mobile tracker option but all other things are very bad. Particularly font type in display, message tone & quality of slide.
Its price is not a matter the thing is how long we can use this with out dissatisfaction?
I can tell that we can't use it for the long time.
Any way I should try to purchase other good one.

Message to Celine, try pressing the up & down buttons on the side of your phone to get the camera to work the right way round. The same thing happened to me when I first got this phone & seem to think that was how I fixed it!
I bought this phone after my Nokia let me down. The features on it are great, considering I only paid 45 quid from Tesco, although like other users have said, you can only use the alert tones that are already on the phone.
The back is a little difficult to remove, but be persistent & it will slide off. I am quite pleased with this phone & would recommend it to anyone. Merry Christmas.

Well I never! People stop complaining about memory, just buy a memory card! Also you can use an MP3 song for the calls but not texts but is that really such a problem? Good value for money, buy it for music (if you also get a memory card) don't buy it for the camera.

Decent phone but plenty of niggling faults:
- TOO QUIET!
- After a few months the sliding mechanism becomes very sticky.
- Doesn't automatically save outgoing messages, you have to scroll down a menu each time to do that.
- Has a worrying tendency to break memory cards, broke 2 of mine.

This was my 1st Samsung mobile phone, because I am a Nokia user. Samsung E250 is such a great mobile phone. I love this one. It is also user friendly. But how can I lock the font in small size. Usually you have to select the small font size every time you have to type or reply to text. Other person (beside you) might read your text because of the bigger font. Unlike in Nokia phones you can change the default font size into small size.

Well first off I got this phone about 6 to 7 months ago now, at first I was so excited when I finally got it. I wasn't pleased with the design it was rubbish & also you couldn't out charms on it. BUT I thought it was amazing everything I wanted.
UNTIL, a few months after having it I notice that there were thousands of scratches, it's terrible. The camera isn't good quality it's either very dark or very light. You have to get a memory card for it, it hasn't got good memory card.
Well onto the good bit, well if you have a memory card its very good, it's easy to use. It sends very fast. The editing pictures are okay I suppose. Well I am getting a new phone for Christmas & I can't wait!

This phone only lasted just over a year. Dust gets between the slide then grates at the contacts inside, eventually all the functions stop working. Which is a shame, because it looks nice & works well, has a decent camera & music player. I bought a slider because you get a small phone with a large screen, but there's a design fault in there somewhere to allow dust to grate away the contacts.

I like the design of this phone, although there is nothing by which to grip the slide as I open it. It's very hard, in fact, to slide the phone open without making contact with the screen, which is a concern as by the other reviews this phone seems to have screen problems most of all. That's not surprising for such a large screen on an inexpensive phone, LCD materials are hardly hardy, after all.
The slide seems to be okay for the time being, but I am only on day 3 so it's hard to say as of yet. It sure does look nice though. In terms of features, I wasn't impressed, but I wasn't expecting much. It seems designed for short MP3 clips rather than full songs (due to memory restrictions), although it has a music player it's not the focus of the machine. If you want a phone, rather than a gadget, this will satisfy you.
Basically, I am a fan of Sony Ericsson for usability, & any flaws in this model as such I am likely to fob off as, at the end of the day, it's just not a Sony. Menu system's, not great, but it's not rocket science either.
All round, a half decent phone. Mine cost £60, & if it breaks within 6 months it would have been a waste of money. Breakage does seem to be pot luck though, according to this review board.

It didn't last much more than a week. I plugged the charger in one day & a few hours later the phone was dead. I checked the connection & it turned out to be a loose connection.
I got a refund & have now got a Sony Ericsson W810i for only £5 more.

Before commenting something about me, I am a software & network engineer & this are my views. If you want to use just for listening MP3 & receiving calls its good. But if you want good camera it's not good.
- Only 10 MB internal memory which is very bad & you can't record long video, voice etc.
- You can't slideshow photos from memory card.
- You can't install any software.
- Its slide system is not good & it can break with little force.
- You don't have touch screen features, so you can't type long messages.
- You get problems with screen system.
So honestly I don't recommend for advance use. It is good if it is a cheap phone in your country, but I don't recommend for advanced users.

I've had a Nokia 3100, which is a superb old phone but the microphone stopped working so all I could do was text with it!
Felt like a change from Nokia's so went for a Samsung E250.
The positives:
- the screen's pretty good. Quite large & good colour.
- Sound from the internal speaker is fine.
- Reasonable camera but nothing special.
- I got it for £60 with £20 credit on Tesco network. :) So it's pretty cheap.
- Battery seems pretty good. 4 days or so on it's first charge.
- Good tactile keypad.
The negatives:
- the menus are a little 'busy'. The submenu for each option appears on a little window over the menu. Why doesn't it just open a new window?
- the chunky font, while readable looks a bit clumsy.
I do like this phone but it does lack a little thought in the look of the menus. It's the only thing that lets it down.
Other than that, it's good value for money & recommended.

Love this phone!
I bought this phone yesterday after I dropped my D500 & cracked the screen. I bought it on Virgin for AUS$149 & was lucky to find it wasn't locked, which was great. So a bargain for what it is worth!
This phone is a must-have, I didn't need to use the manual as the usability is almost identical to the D500, so I caught on with it easily. I find it a bit wide to hold (I must have small hands) but the flatness makes up for it & find the 4-way button on the screen a little hard to press - though not a major problem. I am not into the features as such except Bluetooth & uploading pictures as I only call & text so it's great for that.
The only downfall is that it doesn't come with a USB Cable - as most Samsungs, which means I have to fork out an extra $40 to buy one. Great phone, recommend it to anyone.

O.k. So the phone isn't perfect but its cheep with a good spec, the battery will last up to 4 days left on 24hrs that's making 2 or 3 calls & a text or 2, with a lot of use 2days.
The camera is 0.3meg & not for holiday snaps but you can pick up a3mp camera for £26.
A memory card & adapter £4.04 plus p&p from memory bits UK website.
The battery cover is hard to get off but if you file a little of the 2 pimples which locks the cover in place it is less stress to get off BUT JUST A LITTLE to much & the cover will not stay on!
The MP3 player is let down by the supplied earphones which sound tiny, but if you are handy with a soldering iron you can remove the earphones & replace them with a 3.5 line socket this will let you plug any phones or powered speaker
If not go to your local electrician & they will do it for you.
To get the PC to pick up the phone on Bluetooth you must download Samsung PC studio 3 this is free from Samsung Mobile website.

So all. This is my first Samsung after having used more than 4 models of Sony Ericsson. I am afraid to say that the only reason this mobile got in my hands was that Vodafone gave it for free as I had quite high bills the last years. After waiting the mobile to be charged, I tried to open & check what this is so:
- Poor graphics comparing to the Sony Ericsson K750.
- Annoying sounds that to find out where to take them out you are already mad.
- the slide seems to be very weak & already shaking when the vibration is on.
- MORE IMPORTANT. SEEMS THERE IS NO SIGNAL. The mobiles antenna seems to be off.
Reasons I chose this was for the nice design, the slide. Features are simple medium level & the usability can go maximum to 5% as still is not functioning. Lucky me still have my Sony Ericsson mobile phone working after 1 1/2 yrs!

This phone is just a joke. My son bought it from Carphone Warehouse with his first month's wages & within a fortnight the screen suddenly went completely peculiar. He took it back to our nearest branch & they said this was a known fault & replaced it. Two weeks later exactly the same thing happened. We took it back to another branch of CPW & were told it was screen impact damage. There wasn't a mark on the phone & it had been looked after well but they would only agree to repair it if we would pay. I was disgusted with their attitude. I have since bought him a Sony Ericsson. Has anybody else had a problem with their screens. If so, leave your review so I can advise CPW over this phone.

Reply to Tim-UK - Whatever you do, do not buy the Samsung E250. I have one right now & I am unhappy with it. It does not have much memory, It is really big for a slider, is slow when the memory is nearing full & after having it since March, the slider has gone loose.
I bought the E250 from Woolworths for £70 in March. On the picture, it looked as if I was getting the new style E250 but got the old (old not having shortcut immediately to the camera from the down button etc.) So all the facts above may be different from the new version but a friend has the new version & it is not that great.
The FM radio is good & I haven't worked out how to record the radio into MP3 so I think the answer to the question below is NO!
The phone scratches really easily. The camera is alright but not one for an enthusiast! Slid up its dimensions are approximately-14cm x 5.5cm x 1cm. Hope that helps!

Well I was well annoyed with this model - having had Samsungs for most of my mobile using life I brought this one as a cheaper version to others when I broke my old Samsung (my fault) anyway I brought it was a bit impressed but nothing fantastic - after two days I had a great big black shadow down one side of my screen - I took it back to Argos who gave me another one - 2 days later again my camera decided to go break on me & turn everything back to front & upside down for no reason what so ever! I took it back & was told they would have to fix it I demanded a refund but eventually they changed my phone to a Nokia - I am not happy because I love my Samsungs - looking at buying a u600 or d900 but both have bad reviews!?

I have a question please folks before choosing this: could someone clarify about the text alert? I need to be able to know when I get a text especially as I get text alerts when I have a message left on my landline at home, & this is really clear on my ancient Samsung A800. I was about to upgrade to this phone but won't if I can't get my text alerts.
Anj in Edinburgh - if the phone is 'not fit for purpose' which it sounds as if it is if the screen is so bad, then you are entitled to a refund. Go back asap, & if you still have problems, call the local council Trading Standards department or Citizens Advice to get backup.

This phone is good value for money & the camera is in the right place, which is very useful because I am prone to taking pictures with my finger in them but I was disappointed because it doesn't come with a wire. You have to order this separately, if you want to listen to music, you have to go through hundreds of files & the display isn't very attractive. The battery life isn't very good either, it's only a few hours before you have to charge it & when you do, it heats up a lot. If you are buying this phone you should defiantly get a memory card, it can only store about two songs without one. If you want to download games it is a very long-winded process but I have the instructions here so ask me if you want to know. There is no place to put phone charms & if there is it is very fiddly & hardly worth it. If you want a value for money phone then by all means, buy this one but if you want a phone that is good & your willing to pay a little bit more, I recommend a Sony Ericsson or a Motorola.

Hmm well where to start I bought this phone in New Zealand for $230 NZ (about 80 pounds) 1 week ago & there are bits I love & bits I don't like so much. I bought this phone on in its basic form out of the box (so no USB cable with it) thankfully I have a memory card reader on my PC & I bought a 2GB micro stick with SD card converter so I can put MP3's or movies on it.
The thing I do like is it plays 3GP files so downloaded a movie converter on my PC (Acala 3GP movies free, really good free software converter) & have put many of my movies & TV shows from my PC (mpeg, avi, wmv, etc) onto my phone & have been able to watch them when I am on the bus. Great! But it can be very fussy about the video conversion settings & I had to use a frame size of 176x144 & audio setting AMR when converting.
I also managed to hack the phone & turn up the speaker because it is far too quiet but have really regretted it because now a lot of the audio distorts & it is hard to know what setting relates to what so be careful with this. ( to do this dial *#8999*8378# then go to 'H/W Test' then 'Äudio Settings' then 'LM4946' then change the volume, probably best not to go over 25!) BUT when I convert movies over 100MB it won't play (I guess because the buffer can't handle that much data) so that kind of rules out full high quality movies. No point having a 2GB stick if you can only play files smaller than 100 MB.
It feels a little plastic so I really hope it lasts the distance, & so far the radio is not picking up any stations so ill have to go back to the store & get that looked into, also when I have been watching movies & play mp3s I do find I have to charge every night, but all & all I think it is a great phone.
10 out of 10 value for money though.

What isn't clear when you buy one of these is that the music player can only have four playlists & each is restricted to 30 tracks. So you are limited 120 tracks of music. You think you can add 2GB of music to a MicroSD card, which you can, but when it comes to playing that music you can only select one track at a time & play it. When the track ends, you have to go back to the memory card & select the next track.
That is a very limiting feature & for me makes the MP3 playback functionality as good as useless & you won't find out about this restriction until you've bought the phone, a USB lead & a MicroSD card - unless of course you were lucky enough to happen upon this review first, which I wasn't :- (.
On that score, very bad marks for Samsungs dishonest marketing. But other than that, it seems like a nice enough phone.

When I first got it I really liked it, but after 3 days the screen went funny, my phone has no cracks or anything on it but over half the screen has gone white. The phone still looks brand new. This is my 3rd Samsung & usually love them but this one is very poorly made. I have never had trouble with screens on my phone before. The screen is far too delicate to fit on a mobile phone, absolutely terrible.

Previously I was using Sony Ericsson K508i, but I was not satisfied with that set. The model is also very old & I was bored of using Sony Ericsson SET with no additional features.
Last month I have purchased this Fantastic Phone. E250. It's great to use. But I did not get the apple green or purple colour, I got Ebony black, never mind. Its FM Radio sounds like Stereophonic. The wallpaper photo quality & image is very good. But one thing I want to ask the Ringtone is polyphone whether we can change the ringtone in stereo phonic. Please reply. I wish good luck & all the best for the future assignments to SAMSUNG TEAM for coming with such a beautiful set SAMSNUG E250.

Hello, I haven't brought my lilac one yet but I have used my friends black one & I thought it was SO GOOD! I have decided to get one soon but everyone's been saying the battery is rubbish? Is it that rubbish? Would it last a day if I took it out for the day & left it on? Please tell me, Thank you x.

There's nothing wrong with its battery, you people just don't know how to condition your phone. Its mandatory that when you buy a new one, or get a new battery, on its first day your supposed to use it until it either dies or the battery keeps saying its low, THEN you CHARGE IT FOR EIGHT HOURS STRAIGHT! If you repeat this three times, without interrupting its charging, I can fully guarantee you guys that its battery time will be more than perfect. I did this with mine & the battery lasted for ALMOST TWO DAYS, without the need to charge. It's a fact that the thing that takes out most of its power is when you have your camera on for a long time. But even when I conditioned my phone it worked perfectly well & lasted a little over a day. So just try that technique out & I assure you nothing will go wrong with its battery time. The sales lady said this conditions the phone to save up on battery life & some other things but I really wasn't listening to that part. All I know is that it worked & I have probably got a REALLY good phone that's worth the money. The FM radio really pulled it off though :).

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PHONE. It comes in many different fashionable colours, lilac for the girls & black for the guys, plus many more. The features are awesome. I paid £49.99 for this phone & have got & MP3 player, FM radio, Java games, Bluetooth, VGA camera & video, not to mention many of the other stunning features. Although many of you have had problems with the battery, so far I have not. I charge it most days in the evening, so I can be sure it will have enough charge for work the next day.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Although this phone does not have an ultra high-definition screen it works adequately for me, as I expect it does with others. The camera is good but obviously not in the same league as my digital. When all said & done we pay money for digital cameras which we will use for taking memorable & high quality pictures. Phone cameras are great for spur of the moment pictures, & the Samsung E250 is brilliant in fulfilling this need, anyway enough said.

This is a nice looking phone, but that is it. Typical mid price phone, nothing more. Battery poor, camera is rubbish & the quality of sound is something horrible if you try to listen music with it.

The Phone is a nice design & very stylish the only problem is the memory if you don't get the memory card it doesn't store much but now the phone comes with a free memory card & it holds about 100 songs & loads of pictures.
It is a great phone, it's also a good price. I think the camera is good & it also holds plenty videos I like the style of the phone & I think it is a brilliant phone for the price!

Good phone, just bought mine a week ago & I got hooked on it already, better if you have mini-sd card to store MP3, 1 thing I don't like on the phone. The fonts are way too big & I still can't find a PC cable for my PC to phone transfer though I already have Samsung PC studio :) over all, the phone is good value for money. Better that Nokia 5200 :P

The phone is great! A lot a features to keep me busy, for those who keep saying they cannot activate their sent box, well it pretty easy, no activation needed, just ensure when you are sending a msg choose option2 (save & send) so it is saved to your sent box, if you choose option 1 (send only) the msg will not be saved at all.

I borrowed an E250 from a friend to test run it before buying. It looks good but two problems are immediate to me. The battery life is very poor, & you have to tell it to save sent texts every time you send one. The battery issue is one I have heard a lot & is a problem with the thinner phones. I think it needs more powerful & expensive battery. From my experience Nokia tend to have best battery life & Motorola gives you more control over the functional settings & security.

It's a great phone just got it a few days ago. It's got everything you need it's very slim & looks great I recommend it.
I bought it & then got a 1GB memory card from car phone warehouse for only £15 it's there on a deal now. It looks like the D900 the only difference is that the D900 has a better camera but it doesn't have a radio like the E250 does, nice phone.

Plus I think the volume & the memory is very poor on it but I brought a 2GB memory card which has made it a lot better. Ohh & if somebody could tell me how to switch the light off when its charging that would be great.

Sarah, to use the sent box feature, when sending a message you have to select the 'save & send' option. This is the second option from the list which is shown before the message is sent. The first option is send only. Which means it won't save :)

This phone is ace! You should totally buy it! I got mine out of Argos for £60.00 & that to me is very cheap for a high-class phone! It has everything you need! The only problem is the memory! Without a memory card, it can only store 3-4 songs with a couple of pics & one or two videos!
However, a memory card is not dear! It'd only £20.00 for a 512Mb Micro SD one in Argos! 512 Mb is big enough! I have not bought one yet but according to Argos it holds either: 120 songs, 1200 pics, 160 mins of video recording!
I am thinking of getting one as I will not even store 50 songs & the memory on it is incredible for such a cheap price!
Well done on this phone, Samsung!

Forget it - 3 of these phones were purchased, 1 by myself, 1 by my brother & 1 by my friend. Within 2 months of purchase the slide to answer feature ceased to work on my brothers, the menu button ceased working on my friends & mine refuses to charge even with the purchase of a new battery & charger. Add to this the fact that before these failures numerous attempts to purchase the data cable resulted in a non compatible cable being received, even the one on the Samsung website is incorrect. In short, entry level phone with entry level effort put into its construction with entry level after sales service.

READ THAT SOME PEOPLE can't SEE WHAT THEY ARE PHOTGRAPHING BUT I CAN. CAMERA NOT AS GOOD AS SONYS & POOR SELECTION OF RINGTONES BUT I CAN PUT UP WITH THAT. LIKE the LARGE PRINT & EASY TO SET UP MOST THINGS BUT INSTRUCTION BOOK IS NOT VERY GOOD.THINK THAT FOR the PRICE YOU GET A LOT FOR YOUR MONEY & WOULD recommend IT AS YOU WOULD HAVE TO PAY A LOT MORE FOR ALL the EXTRAS ON ANOTHER MAKE.
