The D600 has great sound quality with its 3D sound technology which can be heard on the built in MP3, MIDI player. The user can also use the built in handsfree speaker which possesses good voice clarity.
Memory is not a problem with the D600 as it comes with 81 megabytes of built in memory & has the added option of TransFlash™ memory which is an external memory. The user will have plenty of memory space for saving those all important photos, videos, messages, emails & documents.

Got this phone in Early 2006 & it has been brilliant. I have had the Samsung L760 which was replaced as faulty with Sony Ericsson Z750i. The new technology is a waste of time, I kept going back to the D600, as the newer models just don't work as well.
The only negative in Aus is that it was designed before we got 3G network.
The shape fits well in hand, has a lot more features when you start digging deeper, takes great photos with lots of options, will take a 1 gig trans flash card, Can add different ringtones, has vibrate, a stronger antenna than newer models, & works for phone calls & text wherever I go if the providers aren't having tower problems.
After 4 years I need a replacement battery as the life is now only 2 days duration.
Durable & still looks like new as I bought a plastic cover from day 1. The Z750i with all its extras is only used when I go to Japan & I continue to use the D600 until Australia no longer has GSM coverage as it continues to be reliable for calls, text, photos, listening to music & more extras which I don't use, so for me the phone is brilliant & if I could find a way for some genius to add 2100mHz band to it, I would use it forever.

I have kept this phone as a spare one in the draw just in case I broke 2 of my old ones & thought there's no point getting a fancy new one if I am just going to drop it in a river again :). So I thought why not get this one out again what can I say, I am rubbish with phones & it's never broke its easy to use & does just about everything you want on it except Bluetooth of course. But overall it's a really nice little phone:) bit like a pebble I suppose.

This phone has been an absolute legend. I have the red one & the battery started to fail after 2 years. I managed to get a replacement genuine Samsung red battery off the net for £10 & the phone is like new again!

This has got to be one of the best phones ever made & it still is my favourite Samsung. It's so simple to use, has so many features, surfs the Web pretty well. I could go on forever. Unfortunately, after a wonderful 3 years & lots of falling mine got damaged. I recommend this phone to anyone.

Had the D600 for 3 years now never let me down. Camera is great, phone is easy to use, still looks OK & is great to use & have in your pocket.
Cannot think of a better phone that's why I have kept it this long. I did have a ING phone from 3. But it was awful. If that's what 3 years more design & tech does for you you can keep it.
Cheers Marcus.

I loved this phone, it didn't hold charge too long but could live for a couple of days before dying which was alright for me because I charge each night. The capacity wasn't huge but I hate deleting things & there is an option to expand so no negative there. In short I really miss this phone unfortunately the screen died last night & I've been in mourning ever since. I had it in RED which looked great however the back scratched easily & being a clumsy person mine got rather scratched but despite that I am considering buying another.

Brilliant phone, had it for over 2 years & it is still really good. Have dropped it hundreds of times lost it 3 times but it still works. Would recommend it to anyone. About to buy a Samsung Tocco because I think it's time to move on. But I am still keeping my reliable D600.

Got my phone in March 2006 & love it. Has been dropped many times but have never had a days trouble with it. Was upgraded to the U600 in 2007 but after 3 troublesome months went back to my reliable friend. Might not look as stylish these days but who cares it works! Just hope they are still available when it finally wears out.

A great phone but the battery keeps going through stages for weeks where it will only lasts 8 hours, I had this happen with a D900 as well, this seems to be a common factor with Samsung mobiles phone.

I've had my D600 phone for a little over two years & it's served me very well. I have had some issues with the wires connecting one of the buttons in the slider breaking but otherwise it has been problem free. I like the design of the phone, it's a comfortable shape & weight & easy for one handed texting. The battery life is adequate & I only have to charge it every three or four days. The MP3 features of the phone a very lacking, however not surprising considering its age.
Overall I have been very happy with this model.

I have had this phone for 3 & half years & have never had any problems with it. I have always found it to be very reliable & it takes good pictures. This phone has been dropped many times & has never so much as switched off!
I would now like to look at a better camera phone as the 2 megapixel is old now. But the phone has served me well & I would recommend it.

Great reliable phone, as with most camera phones the shutter lag is very poor unless your subject is willing to keep still for 3 seconds. Also you cannot add your own SMS sounds only the preset ones. Apart from the previous points it's a very good phone, though a little bit fat looking for these days.

I got this phone for Christmas 2006, & loved it! I dropped it over & over again & it still worked like a saint. But I dropped it once too many & the screens gone. It turns on, buzzes, but I just can't see anything. I can play music if I remember the shortcuts for things!
I would recommend the phone, its really good, nothing extra special but everything you need & a little more. I have a Motorola RAZR now which is so much worse compared to it. I am looking to buy a Sony Ericsson W910i, but have had Samsungs forever so a bit doubtful.

I bought this phone in early 2005 & in 2008 I am still using it!
I'll not be changing it either because this phone is designed to last, unlike many of the flimsy offerings around nowadays. My D600 has been dropped, trodden on by my horse, soaked, left (accidentally) out in the rain & works like a charm to this day.
Only now, after all this time am I looking to replace the original battery as it's just not holding a charge like it did. IN the 3 years I've had it, I changed the screen once due to it becoming very scratched & I'll be holding on to this phone as long as I can.

Worst phone I have had in a long time. I gave it to my husband after less than a year when I picked up a second hand Sony Ericsson k750i which knocks spots off it.
It looks very sleek & I did like the slider design & the big screen but the battery life was rubbish from the start, worse, in fact, than the Sony Ericsson I was discarding due to poor battery life! I leave the BT on all the time & that was a huge drain on its battery life.
Biggest negative feature for me was the inability to edit a word in SMS once it had been finished, to have to go back & delete the word & start again was a real pain.
Last time I am ever going to be swayed by the sleek design features over the functionality.

This phone is good. The camera was good at first but then got much worse, the sound is quiet. The buttons make a racket it is awful if you are doing a video & you zoom you can hear the clicking noise above anything else also in video the zoom stopped working! I am hoping to get a new phone soon!

I have had mine 2 & a half years & in that time it's been washed & tumble dried it's been swimming in beer, it is been thrown off the roof of my car whist driving away with it on the roof then I crashed while mountain biking it was in my knee pocket which hit the tree doing about 20 mph knocked me off the bike & then I landed on it & amazing as this phone is it still works THIS PHONE IS ACE I want another one.

I got this phone, well, I think it was last year, & I think it is great, camera is great & I don't see why people have a problem about it? I must say though, the actual phone is a bit chunky. Texting is easy, basically a good all round phone. The battery is good, but if you are playing songs it doesn't run out of battery, but uses up about a bar (out of 3). The camera is good, but not very good for taking a picture in dim light, even if the flash is on. I was thinking about looking for another phone but I thought, why? This is I good phone.
I would recommend this phone to anyone.

The only thing was the battery could have been longer but still an extremely usable phone.
I would definitely recommend. An older phone now but ideal for a multitude of things.

I got this phone in January last year when I first got it I loved it, I couldn't put it down, I felt proud & confident with it in my pocket over time I began to not like it so much it was very fat compared to other phones & dust gets in the screen easily.
I still have the D600 today but I hate it I rarely use it in public as it is hideous, the d600 has all the basic features but not many special ones considering it is a Samsung.
DO NOT BUY IT! I HAVE MY EYE ON the U600!

I don't bother using most of the functions as the volume 4 the music is dire, I can hear other people's music louder than my own when using the earphones!
Signal can be pretty bad so overall not a v reliable model. Looks far better than it actually is.

A fool proof mobile. Easy to use & will not cost that much. The camera is excellent, the quality of a 5MP camera! The 77MB memory is good enough to store about 12 songs & a few pictures & videos. The camera lens is not protected & the MP3 player volume is not loud enough. It is loads better than my Sony Ericsson t610i but this phone does have its down points.

Got this phone as a cheap replacement from my Sony Ericsson k800i which got stolen : (.
Anyway it's a phone the cameras rubbish music on the phone is useless as you can't do anything else with it while you play MP3's, I also have a pair of wireless Sony Bluetooth headphones which worked fine with my k800i but with the Samsung it's so rubbish the quality is very low & the phone lasts about 1.5 hours playing music & that's about it, reception is not as good as Sony Ericsson my Dad's k750i gets full signal & mine gets 2 bars? & where both on Orange.
Oh & the battery life is rubbish you have to charge it up daily when I send about 20 texts & 30 minutes calls, with my Sony I got about 4 to 5 days out of it?
Bottom line, don't get this phone its rubbish don't get a Samsung there nothing compared with Sony Ericsson! If you're a Samsung person just get a Sony you will soon see that everything is so far superior.

What an awful phone. It only LOOKS good! The fun options such as custom message tones have been disabled, the photo viewer has no zoom, the vibration takes longer than is available to answer the phone, the screen is brittle & my keypad just cracked it on me, so I can't read my final message on this phone.

I hate this phone. Sorry but I do. It's a rip off. The memory is naff, & I don't want to by no SD card. It takes hours to get a song onto it, if it has enough memory that is. The sliding isn't sliding at all but more of a ping action that shoots up. The battery life is the worst I have ever known, my battery is gone by one day. It's really fat & ugly & the worst thing of all is that the directional buttons are so loud. THANKFULLY, MY DOG GOT HOLD OF IT & I AM NOW GETTING the Sony Ericsson W800i.

This phones problems are firstly it's not the easiest phones to use I have had. I like to stick with Samsung's as all the other ones have been brilliant. This phone is good but am looking forward to upgrade to a f700 just after Christmas.
The memory on the phone is pretty bad & would invest in a memory card, however it is difficult to find one for the phone. I like to edit pictures with text but on this phone I sadly can't. It's not a major crisis but after the first week on having this phone it becomes boring.
The quality of the music isn't that good & is not as loud as Nokia's & phones I have had in the past. I do not like the fact that you can't change the SMS ringtone as I have to keep with the set Samsung ones.
In your contact book you can only have a maximum of 1000 people saved to your phone & 230 people saved to the sim card. As I am quite popular I have nearly reached 1000 contacts & hope that the Samsung f700 can save more contact to the phone.

This is a very good phone & it won't let you down. What is really annoying about these reviews is that most people say the design gets ugly after a while! OK, you're buying a phone! Not a fashion accessory. Not the latest model. I'll tell you what phones are not good. Well, flip phones, great for girls, but they are rubbish! Most don't even have blue tooth or MP3 & also those simple phones, like the Nokia ones, how bad?
Don't even have camera or the simplest FM Radio! You buy it, because you need to contact people while travelling! Message in your brains? Good! Sorry for that little thing readers know it's not your fault above all things.
OK. I'd say the features are great! The camera is 2.0 Megapixel & you can do effects, frame the pictures with goofy faces, backgrounds & even cute little bunnies, which is fun to do. You can create different effects, as I said, & there are nine to choose from. Sepia, gray, antique, you name it, it's all in a simple little sleek phone.

Hey I really can't decide between the Samsung G600 & the Nokia 6500 Classic. Nokia has 3G, voice activated dialling & infra-red but I don't use these.
Samsung has the 5MP camera & FM radio which I do use as well as all the other features of the Nokia. The battery life concerns have me worried as many people are complaining about I. Should I go with the Samsung?
Also I had a Samsung D600 but it died on me after a year of having it, no idea what was wrong with it. It wouldn't turn on, any ideas?

My Daughter has upgraded so I have acquired this one & have to say it is far & above my original phone. Very clear display, easy to access menu's, so easy to use, bit of a pain not having voice recognition though as I am used to that feature which completes the hands-free approach totally.
Would recommend it to anyone, well if it were still available but if its replacement is as good then I would say go for it. One minor gripe is in the placement of the volume key, it gets in the way & can be depressed to easily, that said it is only a minor irritant.

This phone is really dated now, it looks similar the c300. If you want a good Samsung phone with MP3 & expandable memory, don't get this one, I recommend the j600. The d600 is one of those phones that are trendy for a year, & that year has came & gone. If you want a phone solely for ringing people up, & it won't be an accessory, this is a decent phone for you.

I have had the D600 for almost 2 years & have had no problems, even though I dropped it many times. Some people complain that you lose calls when phone slides while taking it out of pocket, simply disable answer/hang-up with slide & instead use green/red buttons. Others complaint with scratches, in two years I only have one scratch & it is only on the side of screen, even though I am not the most careful.
I am now thinking of upgrading to U700 only because I need 3G HSDPA coverage to use with Internet. If it turns out just as good as the D600 I would be most happy.

Brilliant phone. Battery life is good. I get 3-4 days at least. Mine isn't scratched at all & I've had it 15 months. Easy to navigate & quite self explanatory. Only downside: the 2GB memory card I bought is not supported & could not find which one I needed for ages. Now I know it's only 512Mb which is a bit gutting. But then can free up space by putting all photos on PC & love the fact you can hook it up to telly & watch videos & see pictures. I was thinking of getting new phone but haven't found anything to match it.

I've had this phone for 18mnths. I love it. But have had problems sending large picture texts. Even the ones that are built into the phone e.g. the happy Birthday one will not send, which is annoying. I've had the settings changed but still no good. So I've given up trying to send pics. Also the slider closes when I take it out of my bag cutting the caller off. But I can live with all that. The screen has never scratched, its very easy to use, & has never let me down. But after 18mnths need a change only problem is which one to go for. If my next phone is as reliable as this I will be well pleased.

First I will start of by saying very good phone, could have FM radio, the design isn't as nice as the d900 & d900i it's a bit brickish & when I first got it had to take it back to Carphone Warehouse (3 times) but got new one then OK so I have dropped it a few times its not broke but when it's in my pocket it keeps opening don't know if it's something to do with the slide & last week I dropped it & the slide broke along with the VGA cable & this is none fixable but all in all an OK phone pity I broke it but never mind.

Compared to other designs it's not the prettiest but it is a good size & holds nicely, would be nice if it was same shape but smaller. I have had mine a year now & it hasn't failed me once, & as for the above comments saying it cuts off the caller if you take it out of your pocket, I think your wearing too tight trousers if it's too small to fit or you can change the settings extremely easily so that it only answers or cancels calls by you pressing the button rather than sliding it. The camera quality could be better & if music is on full volume it gets a bit crackly but the volume can turn up very loud (much louder than D900), but otherwise I love it!

Hi I have had this phone since Christmas 2006 & it has been great I put my old memory card in it so I had a lot of storage for music.
Problems - when I have it in my pocket it always turns on & off when my trousers are tight (I have been caught out by my teacher a lot) it has been quite hard wearing because I does get banged about & dropped & everything else a sporty 14 year youngster does with their phone, great phone looking for an upgrade to be as good to me as this phone has.

Has anyone else had this problem? I couldn't receive texts from a friend. Looked in the 'bar texts' menu & found her number was there. However, I hadn't added it - it had just found its way there by some other means. The phone has not been out of my possession so am pretty sure that no-one else has placed the number in the 'barred' list.

Have had this phone for just shy of a year. Really like the phone, easy to use & navigate, never had any problems with it, would recommend it if you are looking for an easy to use phone with good camera for pics & recording.
The slide element of it can be annoying sometimes like when you try to get it out of your pocket (more so with tight jeans pockets! ) but this doesn't cause too many problems, just have to get looser pockets!
There are 3 things with it (but they aren't major things, definitely not worth not getting for) that are: the buttons are quite loud when texting, which annoys my husband! Also (& this answers Laurens? question) you can't have music/tones you have downloaded as a message tone, you can only use the message tones on the phone already. When you go into your tunes you have the option of setting them as a ring tone or even your alarm tone, but not as a message tone & the screen can get quite scratched, but if you look after it this won't be a problem.
But I would recommend the phone definitely, never had a problem with slowness, freezing, locking or anything like that. Great phone.

I have had this phone for 18 months on contract & can't wait to get rid of it. The screen is scratched & it's difficult to see text etc properly. Also it seems you can't sent a picture which is more than 100kb, which is total rubbish as most of my pics that I want to send are over this size. With all my other (Nokia) phones I was able to send no matter how big. Bluetooth isn't all that good when trying to search for a new device even if the other phone is cm's away from you. I've had D600 for a year now. Great phone. Nice feel, especially the smooth slide, but why does display screen scratch so easily? Another thing, why does it freeze at random & then after that it displays wrong caller from address book, usually last caller before it froze? Is this an isolated case? When this happens, I have to switch it off then on again to normalise it.

An attractive phone, easy to use keypad & good signal in poor areas but lousy battery life nowhere near 300 hrs. I don't use Bluetooth & rarely use the camera or music player, but I still get about 100 hrs standby time (so does my sister with her D600, so this is not a one-off problem). If you want to get the best out of the D600, stay near a charger.

Excellent phone. Top notch for the money. I had the phone for over a year & I tell you what it's great. I started on Samsungs & I tell you what, I have never looked back. No Nokia can do the trick, & why did I even spend an hour with a Motorola? This phone is great. Memory card can be popped in! A bad thing with this phone would have to be the sound. The sound is very low, it's not as good as the other phones.
Battery is paramount in giving you performance! My phone lasted over 1 week without it having to be charged, & that is what you call power!
The great idea of blocking someone from texting you is a fab idea, with the rubbish texts not hitting you from the same number! Sadly I lost the D600, & am waiting for the D800 which I hope is good! Will post a review on that when I have had a proper look!
P.s. I only wish, you were able to block private numbers from ringing you, or if someone dials 141 in front of your number, it shows the recipients number, of course excluding police or companies.

At best this phone is average. The battery life is poor ( about 1/3 as good as my k750i). The buttons are not the best in the world (cheaply made). Photo's & video will not auto save to the memory card, you have to send them manually which is a pain as you have to clear them to make room for more. This can take a few minutes. For the same sort of money the k750i is by far the better phone.

OK, I'll start by saying this is the best phone that I've ever had. It has every feature that you could want (maybe you'd want a radio though) & is very user friendly. HOWEVER, I've just had to buy a new phone (pales in comparison to this) because the screen doesn't work any more. That's right, it's just black- & I still get texts from people, & can't see who it is or read it! This only happened last week, & I've been traveling in Australia & Thailand for a year so the heat probably fried it. I think it's actually worth fixing & I'll take my new one back- an IMMENSE phone this is with a massive memory.

This phone is compact & has some good qualities. However after using a Nokia N70 prior to this, it is irritating to find that my contacts can't be similarly sent from the phone to the sim, which is essential when changing phones. It will however copy from sim to phone. I found it useful with my Nokia to have check boxes to select whatever I wanted to move in my contacts. I can't understand why Samsung don't provide this user friendly facility. I have also found that the software that I got with the phone does not allow the phone to connect via USB to my computer. I have tried re-installing etc but nothing works. I have read that this facility does not work with all Samsung phones, but why put the software in the box if it is not going to work? I can access my expanded memory card but no other facilities, which is very frustrating. The instruction book also says that selecting options in phonebook will give a drop down of edit, copy to sim, phone or other. This does not happen.

I even took it to loads of phone repair shops & the market, I found that this is a common problem & the screen had gone & the software had been damaged. I had not dropped it or anything if that is what you're thinking. Anyway I think that this is a good phone, nice design but at the end of the day it's rubbish! Waste of Money! It is really easy to use as the processes are really simple. At first I thought it looked nice but now with other similar styled phones in the market it is proving to be not so nice. I find it really hard to put music onto the phone & the sound quality is rubbish. There are loads of scratches on the screen just from having it in my pocket.

A nice phone, but the very poor battery life (less than 2 days) killed it for me. It would die with little or no warning, & it let me down once too often. It got to the point where I had to carry a mains charger around with me.
In the end it had to go, as I needed reliability.

Not bad I guess as a phone, poor battery life, on my 3rd one now. Let down as not being able to change the message tones- also the messages don't save automatically & you have to same them as you send them.

E900 - Usual case, someone asked me how to personalise their message alert & yet again another mobile phone restricting the user to functions allowed only, no freedom to fully adapt the mobile to your taste. I am most fortunate in having owned mostly Sony Ericsson handsets for the last 6 years which allow everything a user desires or at least all that is possible for the phone, transfer of all file types to & from phone to other Ericssons, some Motorola's & Nokia's. It's a shame when the companies that lock the phones have such beautiful designs of handset, it goes to show looks aren't everything :>

Just bought the d600 as my contract phone broke. Wish id took out insurance. Its OK so far, nice little phone, the camera is alright but can become distorted if you move it around quite a lot, just gotta hold it steady. The ring tones are abit dodgy, mite annoy sum ppl but I never have it on loud anyway so not that fussed. I am hoping it'll keep its charge, but on a night out taking pics with the flash on killed it. If I have problems like some other ppl have stated its going straight back!
But on a whole a nice little phone, quite stylish & easy to use. Best suited to ppl that are not too fussed with top of the market phones with 3+ megapixel cameras etc.
Good luck everyone! Tim

Had my D600 for a year now & been really pleased with it. Would love to reposition the camera because I have mobile phone charms on my phone & there always in the way. Quite awkward when a friend who isn't familiar with the phone is taking a picture. Also the message tones are getting pretty boring now cuz there isn't much choice. I had a Nokia 6230 before this phone & that phone music wise cut it above this one for quality of sound, radio (D600 hasn't got one), & ringtones. Although the D600 has great memory & is very easy to use in some parts, the quality of the phone does decrease after a long period of usage. Therefore I would recommend that you wait a bit & get the N95 on contract! As soon as that phone comes out I'm upgrading cuz of fed up of my D600 now. Oh it's great for gaming! I have £50 worth of games on my phone & they all work very well.

Pros
- Nice design
- Good camera (at times)
Cons
- Bad quality music
- Samsung PC studio isn't good
- Memory

Frequently drops out of reception when there is plenty of signal normally. 'Limited availability' & 'Emergency Calls only' on the display. Off buttons fail to work & terminate calls. Clearly there are problems with both the hardware & software with this phone.
I also bought a Samsung Bluetooth hands-free kit to go with the phone. This didn't work at all & had to go back!

I've had the D600 for about a year now, & I haven't regret buying it, not even once.
Whether you like the design or not is an individual matter, it differs from person to person, but I love it. It looks a lot nicer than the quadrangular & edged D500. Good buttons & the slide-function mechanism is made of metal, so it won't break after a month. QUALITY design.
The features:
Well, you can send sms messages, & you can make phone calls with it. Amazing, huh? You can also take quite acceptable pictures, with a 2MP camera, & the video quality is good. The screen is big & bright. It has Bluetooth (NOT infra-red, like the D500), & the D600E edition has EDGE as well. It has a good calendar, a good phonebook, & you can actually view office-documents on it, with the Samsung Picsel File Viewer. It has a TV-out function, so you can connect it to your TV or projector, & display PowerPoint presentations with it. Other features are stopwatch, voice recorder, image editor, timer, converter, & it has a world time clock, you can see what the time is in every part of the world. Nice.
The bad (yeah, it's not by any means perfect):
Battery life is terrible, don't expect it to last more than 36 hours if you send messages now & then & make a couple of short phone calls. The bright screen might be the reason for the bad battery, it is smart to reduce the LCD brightness. Other bad things. Argh, I had more, but I have forgotten what it was. A couple of minor bad things (minor, but extremely annoying): 1-You can't set MP3-songs as message tones, you must use one of the extremely dull ones that comes with the phone. 2-the dictionary is bad. 3-When you send messages the why don't save automatically in the sentbox, you must select that manually every time you send an sms. & 4-Because of the black, polished design, the phone, the screen & the camera lens is extremely exposed to fingerprints, so I suggest you use gloves when you handle the phone ;) Yeah, I almost forgot; the camera lens position is quite stupid, the pictures taken with the phone tend way too often to be of a finger in stead of what you were trying to take a picture of. Enough said.
Conclusion:
When the D600 was released, the features were superb in every way. The 2MP camera, the fantastic screen, & the brilliant video quality, everyone loved it, even the critics. Now, in late 2006, the camera isn't so fantastic, neither is the screen or the video function, compared to monsters like Nokia N95, or Sony Ericsson K800i. D600 is now a just above average phone, but that's just perfect for the average user, who can survive without 3G, gps or 5MP camera. The D600 is a great phone for the average user; it is not expensive, it costs about £150, & trust me, it is well worth the price.

I love the fact that you can put memory cards into it unlike the D500.& I know that some peeps have trouble with the battery as it don't last long however if you charge it for a long time as son as you get it (overnight) it will be much better (well that is what I found out about my other phone anyway LOL! ) anyway there is also another problem which is really annoying however not serious is that you can't set a MP3 tone to your message tone However altogether I think this phone is very good, oh & the MP3 player is AMAZING as the volume & actual quality is great! Great little phone. I have had many before, but this is the best. It is solidly made, the slide is excellent, picture quality from camera pretty good, & the keypad is definitely.
This phone is not flimsy in any shape or form. More than can be said for the D900.
Since it is not designed as some kind of audio dream, I can't see why people have a problem with sound. It was basically designed as a business phone, rather than an entertainment centre!
Having said that, sound is pretty damned good!
The screen is large enough to be easily readable, & the many features offered are way enough for me.
Great sized address book; plenty of space for photos, videos, etc. & the option to upgrade the memory space.
If people scratch their phones so easily, why do they not invest in a case for it?
I highly recommend this phone.

The ring tones it comes with are rather 'twinkly' but you can download MP3 tunes & set them as your ringtones if so desired. I have owned a lot of phones, so listen up, this review is the real thing. I had a Samsung D600 when they first came out, having previously owned a D500. Loved the D500, but the D600 somehow didn't click. Although it had seriously better features (better camera, more memory, better screen) somehow the design had gone back a couple of steps. The shape of the phone is wrong - too wide to hold comfortably. Menus didn't seem too easy to use somehow. The display didn't show missed calls. I just couldn't get on with it, but I had already sold my D500 so I lived with it for 6 months before selling it on eBay. Although it has a MP3 player, it doesn't match the user friendliness of an ipod. I think only the Sony Walkman phones come close to this, & let's face it they are ugly as my Nan's backside! Sound quality is good though, & loud too. Adequate memory from the memory card, but again it can't even match an ipod nano for gigs, right? Message tones are an issue for some people, though personally I don't really care. I have my message tone turned off anyway, otherwise it would be really annoying me. Still love Samsungs, just wouldn't recommend the D600. Now I have the E900 & this is such a cooler kind of phone. Might try the D900 too, but that has the same problem as the D600 - too wide for the hand. But anyone who says the D600 is rubbish really doesn't know what they are talking bout. It's a phone right? & it has a camera & MP3 player & stuff. You gotta be sad to hate it, it just isn't the best, OK? Anyway, ciao & thanks for listening! Alex xxx

I have two comments, re other comments: first of all, this phone DOES have Bluetooth connectivity. Second, who CARES whether or not u can use mp3s as a ringtone? Why would you want to use an mp3 as a ringtone? So complete strangers in elevators & restaurants will know how utterly cool you are & how great your taste in music is? I know it's not for the music itself, unless you sit there & listen to it ring without answering it, which is pathological to say the least. I have a tip for ya'll... people are no more impressed by your mp3 ringtones than they are by your clothes & your jewelry & your car. If someone is impressed by your ringtone, then ironically, these are precisely the kind of people you LEAST want to impress, because they are even more loosely than you.
No, what this phone REALLY needs is a xenon flash & a slightly bigger screen. After my 2.2 inch NEC screen, I'll have trouble going to anything smaller. This phone is for BUSINESS users, people.... the target market is made up people who are too busy WORKING & MAKING A LIVING to care about completely useless features like ringtones.

I got this phone after my K750i was lost, & wasn't sure what to expect. I'd been a huge fan of Samsung's slide designs for a while, but I like Sony Ericssons.
I bought mine off a bandmate, & it seemed a nice phone. Beautiful design. One of the things you can do is turn it over in your hands for hours & hours, feeling the soft back & the smooth screen. Beautiful ergonomics. The slide is also a very nice little add-on.
I was very impressed with the on-board memory they give you, too. My K750i had 32Mb on board, with a 64Mb Memory Stick. This one has 81 Mb on board, with a 64Mb Micro SD- very good indeed.
However, the phone has its faults. Firstly, what were they thinking when they didn't put a multitask on it?! I like to use the MP3 player & text people at the same time, so I couldn't do that. Secondly, what happened to copying & pasting? One of the more useful features. Particularly when you're transferring numbers over, as the interfaces between phones don't recognise the whole more-than-one-number-per-contact idea.
The key action got on my nerves after a while, too. When texting, I found that I'd miss something, & then I couldn't respell the word, because it wouldn't let me, then it sent the message, & I got confused. But that's probably my fault. And what's the deal with the vibrate-and-then-ring thing? It's useful at times (on a train, when you catch the vibrate & pick up straight away), but it's generally annoying. The alarm wasn't as good at waking me up as the K750i, either.
I did like the phone (particularly the rainbow writing =D), but it's definitely not a phone that you can heavily depend on.
Shortly after acquiring it, I bought a K610i, & haven't looked back. Sony Ericsson are sold to me for life.

Hate this type of opening so therefore I will not be getting it. My friend has one & the opening isn't that smooth to slide open either. What do people see in slide opening phones? I really don't get it & dislike any style of phone with an opening system, a phone should look like a phone.
