OK here is an update to my last post, took the phone back to the shop I got a new one took it home & charged it up fully while the phone was switched off, seems OK now I can get 3 days use easy before I need to charge. There does seem to be a problem with some batteries, but the phone is great it looks amazing & performs well.

Reply to As from London, UK. I am sorry but I can't agree with your comments about this phone, OK it's not all singing all dancing but for the price it is a great touch screen phone. I think you get what you pay for when it comes to mobile phones & we should all remember that when writing our reviews.
I am still happily using the Samsung Jet after a year of usage, with, may I add, no problems or errors on the phone.
I would highly recommend to others & I am very pleased with this Samsung product.

This phone is not as good as the reviews would suggest. It suffers from picking up background noise, the camera doesn't always work & forget Wi-Fi. Gmail (when you do manage to get a Wi-Fi connection) looks like some schoolboy's summer project. Not the quality I would expect from a major phone manufacturer. I have just had to put the phone in for an emergency recovery due to the NPC software failing to correctly upgrade the firmware. Time to start saving for a proper phone!

To the reviewer below, there must be something wrong with your phone, as I have had my Samsung Jet for almost a year & my battery has always lasted over approximately 3 days with general daily use.
Hope you sort out your problem soon.

Got the Jet two days ago loved it however the battery is a major problem. I charged it up fully at 9 pm one night went to bed at 11 & switched the phone off in the morning I turned it on it had lost 1 bar, I used it for a few calls & 1 or 2 texts during the day & the battery ran out of power at 1pm, yes that's right less than 8 hours use, I returned it to the shop, & they have given me a new jet to try. I hope this one is better as everything else about this phone is great. Samsung must be aware of this problem it's crazy that a phone can last less than one day. My 3 year old LG can go 5 days without a charge. I will let people know how I get on with this new Jet.

Don't buy one if you have a Mac. Just doesn't work & Samsung don't care.
I've given 25% throughout because I suppose it works as a phone. Useless as a camera & for video, one of the reasons I bought it.
There I was just about to buy a Samsung HDTV. Not now.

After using the Samsung Jet for one month, here is exactly what I get.
The GOOD.
- Very good screen resolution & vivid rich colours, but only in the shade.
The BAD.
- Extremely weak battery life, half a day with average usage. The phone EATS the battery in a very high rate. This is a major problem.
- Phone sometimes restarts (reboots) by its self. I have tried 2 phones same result.
- Touch screen is not sensitive, the phonebook freezes in the first 2 or 3 touch trials then responds easy. Very annoying (don't even think of comparison with iPhone).
- Screen not visible in sunshine. My old Nokia 6300 did MUCH better in sunshine.
- Extremely weak GPS, almost useless. Also you have to pay to use Route 66 GPS navigator.
- Browser does not re-arrange pages after enlarging, very difficult to read pages after enlarging.
- I did not succeed in opening a single flash file.
- Power point files are not supported. Other document files are allowed but with limitations.
- Body is very slippery it will fall from your hand or pocket for sure (someday). It needs some rubber like edges to give a better grip.
- It is not quick as expected, even with the 800mhz processor on board. According to advertisement made by Samsung I was expecting a super fast phone with JET speed, but in reality it is only little faster or even slower than many phones containing slower processors for example ALL blackberry & HTC new phones are faster.
- The operating system software of the phone tends to hesitate in lots of situations, it even sometimes hangs for seconds, for no reason. You never get the sure & smooth software feeling of an iPhone.
- The NEW PCSTUDIO found on the Samsung supplied CD will not be installed on your computer if you are using Win7, 64 bit. I had to use my old WINDOWS XP desk top computer to install it.
- No light colour theme, all are in very dark background, no new themes could be installed. You are blocked with what you have, that is it.
A Final word, this phone is not a reliable tool. It is just another toy, not a serious one.
Too much advertisement but reality is totally different. It is NOT & for sure NOT smarter than ANY Smartphone.

I like the phone & the touch screen together with all the facilities it has to offer, however mine suddenly developed a fault where as it would continually keep rebooting without going into start mode. The phone was only a few months old & under warranty.
I returned it for repair, but it was returned as un repairable due to water ingress, I disputed this as I know it had never been in contact with water, they asked me to send it back for a second opinion, same answer, when I again disputed their findings, they then said the moisture could have been caused by coming from a cold environment to a warmer one, thereby causing condensation, I told them that with winter we have just had it would be difficult to avoid such a scenario, I suggested that if this is the case then it is an integral design fault & the phone is not fit for purpose & if they put such a disclaimer in their ads, they would not sell many.
It's too late for me because I am now stuck with a useless 3 months old Samsung 8000 Jet & 21 months still left on my contract. Beware you don't fall foul of this with Samsung touch screen phones. Very disappointed with their customer service.

I love this phone e.g. The camera but the downside is the Internet browser because if you try loading up YouTube or & large website the phone freezes & says not enough resources in task manager & this phone doesn't seem to uses all of its processing capacity.

I got my Samsung Jet November 2009 as my upgrade on my contract with Orange. I love my phone but I have noticed 2 rather annoying things that keep happening.
- It keeps on coming up with Not Enough Resources, Close Some Applications & Try Again. I have to turn the whole phone off then back on to shut it up! I wouldn't mind if I didn't have an 8 gig memory card in it I could understand why it is saying it then I have not done any of them upgrades on it nor had it unlocked.
- Sometimes when I go onto camera the phone switches itself off & back on by itself. Which is really weird!

As with regard to the post from the person who had a lot of problems with the backlight bulb, the Jet has anAMOLED display, no bulb in phone 4 backliight, mmmm, don't think you realise that. Hope this helps.

As I read lots of reviews before making my decision on which phone to buy, I thought I'd spend some time giving something back for others to read.
Positives.
I love it. It's the first touch phone I've had & it's brilliant, I don't know why I was concerned about leaving button presses behind! The screen is even sensitive enough to use with long nails. Something the iPhone isn't (my husband has just had an iPhone & we've been comparing). Also a plus against the iPhone is on lists i.e. Phonebook, files etc. The area where you select is wider so you are less likely to select the wrong item.
It's easy to navigate, type messages, use the Internet & Bluetooth. WiFi took a couple of attempts at pairing, but I've been told by the 'Geek Squad' this can occur with Orange Livebox.
I like the fact that you can choose to type a message using a QWERTY (landscape mode) or the conventional text type buttons (portrait mode).
I like the fact you can select to send a text message or phone someone from within the phonebook. Saves key (or touch :-)) presses.
Most menus have drop down sub menus which saves a lot of time going backwards & forwards.
The only reason I've scored 90% on Usability is because of the following.
Negatives.
There are no copy features, so you can't copy text between messages & schedules etc. & you can't copy anniversaries & schedules, which was a bit of a ball ache having to type in all of my birthdays by hand. But hey it's only once.
It's easy to hang up accidentally when you're on a call as the 'hang up' button is in the bottom right corner. So if you re-position the phone during a call beware, as the obvious place (well for me anyway) is to use that corner. I expect I'll get used to it with practice.
Using the photo viewer takes a bit of getting used to, because if you tilt the phone slightly the photos start to zoom side wards of their own accord. Again this is just practice.
Anyway enough. I could go on for ages. I hope this helps some of you who are considering this phone.

This Jet phone is wrapped up & waiting for me under the tree, I have used with this phone as my friend has it, it is a super phone hence why I asked my partner to get it for me this Christmas. I am quite excited & all ready for the Christmas celebrations to start, I will be texting all my family & friends on Christmas Day, it's my first touch screen & my friend informed me it is very easy to use & a reliable phone, & a good phone to get if wanting a lower priced touch screen phone. I am definitely not a blackberry or iPhone user, this phone will be my dream phone.

Hi again, I reviewed this phone back in August & I wanted to return to let you all know I am still happy with my purchase. I am a medium usage phone user who sends & receives a medium volume of text, MMS & calls on this phone. I am really pleased I am with 02 because in my area I get good reception, also I love Samsung handsets, What is there not to like? I have tried Nokia, then Sony Ericsson (5 phones) & I am so pleased I made the move to Samsung.
Well I am all ready for Christmas & with 2 Samsung Jet's purchased for my kids & safely wrapped & under the tree, way to go Samsung, my kids will love me so much on Christmas morning, they have been nagging for new phones. At least I bought these phones knowing exactly what they can do & how great they are. Merry Christmas to you all, have a great time, I know I will.
Thanks for reading Lizzy.

Whilst the mobile device market has recently moved in the direction of devices that run on operating systems that allow third party applications (generally referred to as Smartphone's) people should not ignore the major advances that have been made with feature devices that run on proprietary operating systems that have the advantage in general of good stability. The Samsung Jet with its superb feature set is a very strong alternative for people who want a multimedia powerhouse right out of the box with no further tweaking required. The Jet is arguably one of the very best feature devices ever made & as such is a fabulous all rounder.
Strongly recommended.

In UAE it is S8003. This is just a great phone. Multimedia like camera, music player, DVD player, & DVD editor are amazing. Some more features which I wish this phone could have are like document editor, unlimited number of calendar & appointment entries synchronisation (200 entries only), text copy function, photo synchronization with PC & suite. From the funclub view point, Samsung should come up with some good 3D games like iPhone.

I am on contract, & I got this phone on the 26th of February. Its a great phone, but after 12 weeks everything started going wrong. First the touchscreen went, then the bulb went on the screen so I though that my battery went, so I tried to charge it up. But, then I realised it wouldn't turn back on! So I took it into the O2 shop, & they sent it off. 3 weeks later I got it back. Everything was fine until 4 weeks after, & the same thing happened. Know I have the LG Cookie. I would recommed the SAMSUNG JET, its a lovley phone. Its just a shame that happened to mine!

I have been the proud owner of this phone for a few months now & believe me it has changed the way I use a phone, it is a pleasure to use for calls, messages, Web, music & camera, I can't stop texting on it as it is so easy on the touch screen QWERTY.
You have got to have a go on this phone, trust me, you have never used such a cool phone & half the price of my friends iPhone which has made her very angry as she likes my Jet better.
100% recommended to you.

Had the phone 2 days now & am bowled over with it, usual different format niggles you get when used to another brand, also my first touch screen as well, but found it a doddle. Got it from CPW on PAYG O2 for a third off what I was going to pay for it. Result! My daughter said you can't add smileys. A generation thing perhaps? personally for the price & features I am well happy. I was contemplating the i8910hd or the pixon12, but felt the latter was a pixels teaser to consumers who think more is better & battery life in some cases on the 8910 has been reported as poor? Either way, the jet it was.
My opinion is, for the money & features you have got to be extremely fussy to feel let down by this phone! Well done Samsung!

I took so much time before purchasing this phone. I did lots of research & had three phones in the running but the Jet won. Thanks to this site & others I finally decided & I have made a great choice. I have not owned a touch screen phone & had concerned about usability but I needn't have worried as it is the easiest phone in the universe to use. I have become a bit of a show off with it actually & the widgets are fun. It is marvellous, I would go on & on, but I will save all details for the conversation at the pub tonight, my friends will hit me with it.
I would highly recommend it, marvellous phone.

A few things I need to share with others, this phone it the BEST, I have used Sony Ericsson's for the last 5 years & Siemens & Nokia before that so Samsung is all very new to me, but after the first day initially changing settings & adding contacts, I am bowled over by Samsung. Text is really easy with the on screen keypad or on screen QWERTY keypad, I just swivel the phone whilst texting to change between the two either keypad or keyboard. I love the large font & it is almost impossible to make a mistake when using the touch screen entry. I adore the main menu with widgets & I like to use the cube shaped menu type feature, very impressive to be totally honest, I mainly use the cube feature when with friends, simply to show how cool my Jet actually is. I like having my 5 favourite contacts on my main screen because it useful & I am using the Jet more than I have ever used a mobile before due to its great features.
I would recommend to others & hope others love it as much as me. Got to go got another MMS just come through, from Lizzy.

I've had this phone now for 3 weeks & feel I am comfortable enough with it now to give a review. Firstly the phone looks amazing. The AMOLED screen is beautiful & very responsive. It has excellent colour which makes watching videos a joy. The Internet is very quick, even when you turn off 3G to save battery life. I have this on Orange & unfortunately want you to see. However that's not Samsungs fault.

Had this phone for around a week. Incredible phone. Great for music & video lovers, easy upload (drag & drop straight to memory card) music is of exceptional quality & video is superb. The screen is so nice to look at too. Easy to use, & the touch is very precise. My only problem is the Internet browser, which is quite rubbish. But apart from that it's great. Camera is very good too, but only flashes when using video mode! Which is lame.
All in all a great phone. I'll be happy for the next 18 months!

Had the Jet for 2 weeks now. Have had Samsung's for the past 6 years (D500 & D600). This is my first gadget phone. Wasn't sure how I would get on with the touch screen, but it's a doddle when you get used to it. The battery life is so much better than most Samsung's, the camera is great with good quality pictures. The Internet is easy to use, & Google Maps is great. Also love the Find Music feature. Hear something you like, get the phone to listen to it & hopefully tell you what it is. I would recommend it to anyone. Providing you have a PC not a MAC! I didn't check first! Cannot load the Samsung PC Studio disc, because I have a MAC! Samsung do not support MAC, so no downloading the software either. Still love the phone itself though. It's easy to use, looks good, feels good & fits into your hand nicely.
