Overview
This 3G phone comes with a smooth opening slide action casing & supports a selection of useable day to day features. The Samsung S5550 Shark 2 comes with a 5 megapixel camera feature, music player, video player, radio & a selection of easy to use messaging services. The user can enjoy high speed technologies on this superior looking slider phone which include 3G technology, Bluetooth® with A2DP, EDGE & Internet access complete with social network support. The Samsung S5550 Shark 2 is a part of the Samsung Shark range of mobile phones, which include other handsets such as the Samsung S3550 Shark 3 & Samsung S5350 Shark.

Appearance & Size
It casing is compact in size due to its slider design which measures 10.18cm tall by 4.87cm wide by 1.48cm in depth when in its closed position. The Samsung S5550 Shark 2 weighs ninety nine grams including its fitted battery. It is available in a black with silver coloured casing or the user may chose to opt for a stylish pink coloured casing. Its slide opening casing allows the user to view their AMOLED screen when the handset is both in its slide open or slide closed position. Its screen displays up to two hundred & sixty two thousand colours on a 2.2 inch sized screen complete with a 240 pixel by 320 pixel screen resolution. The user can access the keypad when the handset is in its open position & access the phones diamond shaped navigation key with call & menu keys when the handset is in either its slide open or closed position.

Imaging, Media & Entertainment
There is a small camera lens located on the front of the casing towards the right hand side of the casing above the AMOLED screen. This discreet camera lens can be used when the user is taking part in a 3G video call which means the user can view their contact on their screen whilst this discreet camera lens will capture the user's expression which can then be viewed by the users contact. The Samsung S5550 Shark 2 has a 5 megapixel digital camera lens which is located on the back of the handset & this camera supports a wide selection of camera & video functions which allows the user to capture beautifully clear photos as well as recording high quality video footage on their phone. There is a LED type flash which will add light to darker surroundings & an automatic focus feature which allows the user to capture a perfectly focused photo using the S5550 Shark 2. This camera also supports a photo album where the user can store their photos, an image stabiliser plus a smile & face detection feature which will focus on the subjects smile or face when the user is taking a shot. The user can easily switch to a video mode which allows the user to record videos at up to thirty frames per second using this 5 megapixel camera lens. There is music entertainment waiting to be enjoyed by the user which includes a FM radio with a RDS feature & FM recording capabilities plus an integrated music player which supports music playback in many formats including MP3, WAV, WMA & eAAC+. The Samsung S5550 Shark 2 comes with a video player which supports video playback in MPEG4, H264, H263 & WMV format. This 3G slider phone supports games which include Java™ games & the user can download new games onto their mobile phone for a lively & colourful gaming experience.

Communication & Messaging
This mobile phone supports document viewing capabilities allowing the user to view documents in popular formats & there is a phone book feature which can hold up to one thousand contacts. The Samsung S5550 Shark 2 has a call log feature which allows the user to access a log of up to thirty recently dialled calls, thirty received calls or thirty most recently missed calls. The user can create & share emails from their phone as well as receiving emails on their phone, which is useful when the user does not have access to their computer. This phone supports a SMS message service complete with a T9 predictive text feature & the user can create a quick text message which can be shared with other compatible contacts. There is an instant message service which allows the user to have an online text communication with other instant messaging contacts that are online when the user is online. An instant message can contain text & symbols & provides the user with a quick & easy method of communication which is instant. The Samsung S5550 Shark 2 supports a MMS multimedia messaging service which allows the user to create a message including text & sound with a photo or video included for an easily created media style message.

Technology & Internet
The user can enjoy accessing the Web via the built in WAP browsers which supports social network capabilities & live widgets. The Samsung S5550 Shark 2 has one hundred & ten megabytes of built in memory & the user can expand their memory further by adding a MicroSD™ memory card. The memory card slot supports up to sixteen gigabytes of external memory. Its 3G HSDPA technology allows the user to experience high speed connectivity on the Samsung S5550 Shark 2. This handset works over 3G networks HSDPA 900 & 2100 plus it works over GSM networks 850, 900, 1800 & 1900. The battery provided with the Samsung S5550 Shark 2 provides the user with up to 5.4 hours of 3G HSDPA talk time or up to 11.6 hours of GSM talk time from a fully charged battery. This slide opening phone supports user friendly connectivity options which include Bluetooth® wireless connectivity as well as USB cabled connectivity depending on the connectivity needs.
