If you are looking for a reliable, easy to use phone then I would strongly suggest that you overlook this phone. The touch screen keypad is very temperamental & it is often a struggle to type a text successfully.

The low price for a touch screen maybe alluring, as it was for me, but in this case you definitely get what you pay for.

I bought this phone 6 months ago & it is the second one I have had. It's very temperamental & sometimes just won't receive texts & I never get them, it's like they go into thin air. Dislike this phone a lot because of this & when I went into Phones 4 you about this there was nothing they could do. So now I am stuck with a phone that is not 100% dependable for another 16 months contract.

I got this phone after I came back of holiday, because I was after a new one & thought I'd choose this one. What a brilliant choice I made.

The camera is great, & the MP3 player is awesome.

This is my first touch phone, & I find texting on it so easy & making a call. I am so impressed with it & I love it!

Well done Samsung, you simply are the best :).

I love this phone. I got one a while back & think its great.

You can create your own backgrounds with a little application known as photoshop. Look for 240 x 320 images you like, make a 720 x 320 new file & put the pictures beside each other & save as.bmp & put them on your phone, simple. You can even use photos.

A flaw I have with the phone is the arrow bar in games. Another is that if it is cold & you have cold hands, it doesn't register a touch properly. But they can be dealt with.

9 out of 10 for me.

Initial thoughts back in November as a cheap replacement for a few weeks & for the money this was a really good phone. The frustration kicked in once I realised that the phone learns words you didn't want it to in its T9 dictionary. There is no way of deleting them & it learns them even if they are spelled manually. Total pointless.

A way around this is to re-add the word you want by selecting the 'add word' option & it will put it back to the top. Remember to take off capitals or it will save them capitalised. This also works for the Tocco & other Samsung's.

Other than that, it's not 3G as stated but a great all round phone. The options are great & it's the T9 text that lets it totally down.

I have had a Samsung Genio for 3 months & now it is practically unusable because my battery keeps overheating I am trying to look for other cases of this so Samsung will realise that the phone with certain battery codes will need to be recalled I also burnt my hand when the phone over heated, but overall I love the phone I would buy it again no matter how un sustainable it is but if there was sustainability percentage it would have 5% from me.

I bought this phone online only to find that it was a Vodafone one, I am on T Mobile! I bought the network unlock code from Vodafone & tried to enter the code, but the phone wouldn't let me type in the code as it said PHONE LOCK FREEZE contact your service provider. Apparently this is a software fault. Don't know if it's just the one I bought but definitely the downside to this phone as I have to send it back to Samsung & hope they can repair it!

The phone is great, I love the features, it's easy to use, looks pretty & at great price.

However, the phone doesn't have WiFi so you can't connect to your home Internet or when you're in a hotel or restaurant etc. You have to go by your service provider. & secondly it doesn't pick up on my computers Bluetooth which was how I sent pictures that id taken on my N95, to my computer.

These are the two biggest problems that I have had with it.

Hi, I find that the Genio Touch looks good value for money as we got a good price of £50 from Additions direct Catalogue with discounts. Still learning bits & pieces just thought I'd report that this is my first touch screen phone, when I am writing a text I am always knocking the wrong letter or number & this can be frustrating, it's heat sensitive so you can't use a prop or stick.

When I retrieve my voice message there is the option to try & use the keypad although it does not come visible while using the answer machine service so I cannot press number 3 to delete or replay message so I have lots of read messages building up. It looks nice, 3 changeable covers included, fairly easy to get going & to pick up, manual very easy to read. I can't say I have USB lead to transfer pictures from camera phone to computer, check this. I don't think I would choose another touch screen phone for the frustration of the keypad but if you can get this phone for a good price & like all mod cons then definitely worth buying.

I love this phone. Really up-to-date & girly. Lightweight & easy to use. The only bummer is the wallpaper. I read your comments & have took one of your advice on minimising the crop box until all of the photo fits in, which has worked, but I was wondering if anyone knows if you can add 3 of your own pictures to the screen.

if so can somebody please reply to this. Thanks.

Hey, I bought this phone recently for my birthday after my much loved N96 died on me.
I have never used touch screen or Samsung before & I must say I really impressed with this phone so far.

The touch screen reacts swiftly, the blogging connections & apps are handy if you're into your social networking :) the music player is very easy & no messing. Pre programmed settings which is great!

The only down fall I have with this phone so far is when I am using the camera feature (which for a 2MP is really good) it crashes & I need to remove the battery & restart the phone.

Hope you found this useful. Great phone, superb price.

Just bought this for my fiancée as an early Xmas present. She's over the moon with it & has all the features she wanted in a mobile phone. I have had a quick play around with it & I reckon its very good value for money.

Seems very well built & feels nice in the hand. The camera despite only being a 2MP takes pretty decent snaps, although there isn't a flash. Has the widgets thing which I still don't see the point in, I've had the F480 Tocco for nearly 16 months & has them also (great !? )

A lot of the features included on this phone as well as the UI, remind me a lot of my F480, which is amazing considering the low price tag of the Genio. When the F480 came out it was around £300! I managed to get the Genio for £65 on O2 PAYG, bargain!

The touch screen works as well as many other budget handsets that are available. The haptic feedback is awesome. It has some interesting features preloaded including a full Collins Dictionary. Texting is a breeze, as is web browsing & generally the whole experience is trouble free & smooth.

Overall I would say that if you're (a female) in the market for an easy to use touch screen device that's easy on the eye & the pocket, look no further than the Genio Touch. I say female because nearly every aspect of this phone screams girly at me for some reason! The interchangeable back panels, all the social network widgets, the lightweight, the overall design. Etc.

I bought this phone to try out the touch screen which is a love or hate!

It's got everything you could want in a phone i.e. the music player, no messing with an equalizer presets! Oh yes those Koreans have got this baby sussed. It may have had a few hand me downs but they're brand spanking new!

Above it says this is a 3G handset not sure on that one as it definitely has not got a front camera.

I liked this phone yet I took it back only to find Vodafone don't allow you to return, remember that!

So gave it away as a present ;) to someone who really wanted it.

Still, the options still there for a touch screen & I feel this phone is what a teen would kill for. If you want a touch screen go up from this model i.e. the Nokia 5800 or the Samsung Jet. Etc. As the screen size is bigger.

This phone is amazing my father brought it for himself yesterday & I instantly fell in love with it now he is getting the pink one for me for my birthday & I can't wait to get it, it feels a shame I have to wait a month to get it because then it won't feel as new out from Samsung, it is fabulous & if you want the iPhone but can't afford it like me this is the perfect cheaper version in my opinion this is the best phone I have ever had but I have had some awful phones (Motorola RAZR Pink & the Sony Ericsson T303).

Only bought this phone a few days ago & I am loving it!

The touch screen responds well, the design sleek (loving the variety of colours, I have the yellow! ), music quality reasonable (good enough for my liking) & quite user friendly.

The only flaws I've found so far is the selection of wallpapers. When I choose a image or photo from my memory card, a crop box automatically appears. Found this feature a bit useless as majority of the time, I or anyone else for that matter, would want to use a full image or photo.

I managed to find a way around this, trick is to expand the crop bar (touch one of the corners & resize outwards) until the whole image or photo is inside this frame. Touch the bottom of your screen & select Set. Try to avoid having a screen protector, as this makes the resizing of the crop box much easier. With the protector, doing this task will drive you up the wall!

Another flaw is when you want to make a call from the contacts folder, I find it a bit long winded, you click on the contact name, you click on the outgoing call icon & then another screen appears asking if you want to make a call or text! The fastest way is, after finding the person you want to call, just press the outgoing call physical button rather than the icon on the screen.

One other annoying thing is the plastic cover for the charger or headphone socket. When your charger or headphone is inserted into the slot, this plastic cover sticks out from the handset, it is not placed in a secure way I.e. It can easily be snapped off if you put your phone in your bag or pocket in a rush.

Other that these minor flaws, the Genio Touch is a super phone. Well done Samsung! :).

Phones 4U had this phone on promotion on Vodafone for £72 including a £10 voucher. It comes with 3 different coloured back covers or fascias. It's a touch phone & similar to Samsung Tocco Lite or LG Cookie. I have only had it for over week but the battery average 4 days before charging. The MP3 player sound is very good. The texting is easy & call quality is good. The widget menu is useful. The phone has the usual organiser items, e, g calculator, alarms, radio, voice recorder. An added bonus for students is a Dictionary facility which I tried & the results were good for simple & complex words. The Google menu give access to search, mail & maps, the latter did a good job in find specific roads in London. As well as the fake call option, there is options for SOS messages that enables you to send to pre-selected messages friends & family saying need help & put the recipient through to you, so some useful security features. What I like about this phone is touch screen responsive, it light to carry in the pocket & has good features on the phone for an excellent price, good buy for Christmas.

I just bought this phone today & I think it is a superb phone! There is nothing bad to say about this phone except the fact that the Wallpapers on this phone are rather disappointing as most pictures have to be resized & this ruins the quality of the picture.

But overall, this phone is a great buy, well done to Samsung for making such a user friendly phone! :).

Is a Great Phone, I Was Originally Going to buy the Tocco Lite. But found it wasn't as touch responsive as this one! Has Loads of Features, & the Widgets are good too.

Only Downside to it though is the wallpapers. If you choose your own you have to crop it, & it only gives you enough to pick out e.g. A 1cm buy 3cm Crop & the picture spreads across the Screen (you have to scroll across to see the rest of the picture) & if you resize all the picture goes blurry. Not very good actually.

But everything else is fabulous! Love the Fake Phone Call too, Gets a thumbs up from me.

8 out of 10.
