Overview
This fashionable looking touch screen phone suits the name given to it as it comes with a built in projector feature which allows the user to display their videos & pictures via the projector beam. The Samsung I8520 Beam has a stylish touch screen form casing which Samsung do so well, & it supports a variety of imaging, media & communication features. This 3G phone comes complete with a slim styled casing which supports an Android operating system version 2.1 plus it supports a customisable touch user interface. Its main features obviously includes its projector feature, as well as supporting an eight megapixel camera feature, high quality video playback, Internet access, radio & a selection of easy to use messaging services. This 3G touch screen phone makes a true fashion statement with its added projector feature & is a popular style for those users that wish to share their viewing experiences with friends.

Appearance & Size
The Samsung I8520 Beam comes with a solid style casing which is mainly black in colour complete with blue coloured accents around its edging. It measures 12.3cm tall by 5.98cm wide by 1.49cm deep which makes it slim enough to carry in the users pocket. Its projector feature is located on the top edge of the casing so therefore this handset could not be any slimmer in design. On the front section of the I8520 Beam is a beautifully clear touch screen which supports a sixteen million colour viewing experience on a super AMOLED capacitive screen which means the user to view their screen in brighter surrounding perfectly. This touch screen supports a high screen resolution of 480 pixels by 800 pixels for a truly high quality display when the user is viewing images, pictures, photos, videos or movies. The screen is scratch resistant which will prevent it becoming scratched or damaged whilst the user is carrying it & the user can also lock their screen when the handset is not in use to prevent any touch screen controls being activated by error.


Imaging, Media & Entertainment
The projector feature allows the user to projector their videos & images so that the viewing experience can be shared with others or enjoyed as a larger viewing display rather than viewing footage on the touch screen. This fun feature is ideally used in darker surrounding to gain the best possible viewing experience. Above the touch screen towards the top right hand corner the user will find a small camera lens this camera can be used when the user to taking part in a 2 way video call & provides VGA video recording. The main camera lens is on the back of the casing which is an 8 megapixel lens complete with a variety of imaging features. It comes with a flash feature & an automatic focus which allows the user to capture perfect photos in darker surrounding which will be perfectly focused. The camera has a smile & face detection feature which will automatically focus on the subjects face or smile when the user takes a shot. The user can store their photos in the phones photo album or share their photos with others using the multimedia messaging service. The 8 megapixel camera supports both photo capturing as well as video recording capabilities & the user can record their videos at up to thirty frames per second. There is a built in FM radio complete with a RDS display feature & a music playing feature which allows the user to enjoy their favourite music entertainment. A built in video player supports video playback in many formats including MPEG4, H263, H264, Xvid & DivX, plus the user can enjoy playing games on their Samsung I8520 Beam as it supports fun & lively gaming features.

Communication & Messaging
The Samsung I8520 Beam comes with direct email support allowing its user to send & receive emails directly from their phone. The user may prefer to communicate with others using the built in messaging service which include a text & multimedia messaging services. A text message can contain text & punctuation style symbols which can be shared amongst compatible SMS contacts. A multimedia message can contain a photo or video recording with either sound or music & text. The multimedia message can be shared between compatible MMS contacts & provides a quick method of photo or video sharing. The user may wish to simply talk to their contacts & the user can commence a call by either accessing their phone book or by just dialing their contacts number using their touch screen keypad. The Samsung I8520 Beam supports a speaker call feature allowing the user to hear their caller out loud over the speakers whilst the built in microphone will captures the user voice.

Technology & Internet
The I8520 Beam is a WiFi® capable phone which allows its user to gain a connection to the Internet via a Wireless LAN. The user can connect their phone to others devices to transfer data & use either a USB connection or Bluetooth® technology to connect the compatible connectivity devices. When the user is transferring data files between devices they can gain high speed transfer rates thanks to the phones built in GPRS & EDGE technology. The Samsung I8520 Beam covers quad band GSM networks plus 3G HSDPA networks 900, 1900 & 2100. The phone will automatically switch between network bands to gain the best network connectivity for the user's needs. It's built in 3G HSDPA & HSUPA technology provides the user with features such as 3G video calling plus the user can be browsing the Web whilst on a call for a multiple features function. The I8520 Beam comes with 512 megabytes of ROM memory & 384 megabytes of RAM memory. It also supports a memory card slot which can hold up to 32 gigabytes of external memory. There is an integrated A GPS navigation feature which supports Google maps allowing the user to enjoy an easy navigation feature to their desired destinations. The Samsung I8520 Beam comes with a fitted battery which will provide up to 14 hours of 2G GSM talk time or up to 7.4 hours of talk time over a 3G network. There is a built in WAP browser which supports a user friendly search function & the user can browse the Web of information on the move.
