This Snazzy Samsung mid range Smartphone comes with a variety of communication & multimedia features to suit the user on the move. The Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 is a compact touch screen designed handset which runs the Android operating system & the stylish user interface TouchWiz version 3.0. Samsung have designed a range of affordable mid range Smartphone's which offer the user a great looking handset with a wide selection of Smartphone capabilities, which include the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830, the Samsung Galaxy Fit S5670 & the Samsung Galaxy Gio S5660. The key features of the Galaxy Mini S5570 include a 3.2 megapixel camera, video recorder & player, music player & radio, Web browser with Google search & social network capabilities, plus technologies including Wi-Fi®, 3G HSDPA & Bluetooth®.

Appearance & Size
It has a well proportioned & compact touch screen form casing measuring 11.04cm tall by 6.08cm wide by 1.21cm deep, allowing the user to hold & operate the Galaxy Mini S5570 in a single hand. A 3.1 inch touch screen provides the user with easy to use touch screen controls as well as a beautifully colourful viewing display. This screen supports an automatic rotation feature which allows the user to turn their handset between horizontal & vertical mode & the screens display will respond to the user's movements. The casing weighs one hundred & five grams with the rechargeable battery fitted which feels good to hold when in use. The Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 is a snazzy looking handset which is mainly black in colour & has a textured back panel. Coloured accents around the edge of the casing & around the navigation key are available in green, yellow or black, so therefore the user can choose their preferred casing colour.

This is a really good phone for its price. Its packed full of features, its fairly quick & its great for day to day tasks like browsing the Internet, playing games, taking pictures etc. However, the screen resolution could be better & the battery life should be longer but, since it is an entry level phone running android 2.3 & it doesn't cost the earth you have to compromise. I would definitely recommend it for those on a tight budget.

Just wanted to point out that a full user manual for the Samsung Galaxy Mini can be downloaded on the Samsung site. We've just got a couple of these phones on contract with Tesco Mobile in the UK. Very pleased with the Tesco deal (250 mins, 5000 texts & 500MB for a tenner a month) & also impressed with the phones themselves.

One problem, sometimes the phones won't power on, even though the battery is charged. Removing & replacing the battery seems to fix the problem, but I wondered if anyone else had come across this, & found a more permanent fix. Or are we just being dim & doing something wrong?

The Galaxy Mini is probably the best value for money Smartphone on the market. It is compact, yet the screen size is not a problem. It does everything that a Smartphone should do & it does it well. A design negative is the location of the on/off button which is too easy to hit accidently. Another negative is the lack of a comprehensive user manual. It can be difficult to find & learn how to use many of the utilities of the phone. On the whole, though, a brilliant little piece of technology.
