Our Samsung C5130 Review

Overview The Samsung C5130 is a 3G slide opening mobile phone which supports easy to use call & communication feature as well as supporting some fun entertainment features for its user to enjoy. This 3G phone comes with a built in 1.3 megapixel camera, FM radio complete with radio recording capabilities & it supports user friendly connectivity to other devices including Bluetooth® wireless technology. The C5130 is a member of the Samsung C range which includes other handsets such as the Samsung C5510 which is another mid range slide opening handset.

Appearance & Size This phone comes with a black coloured casing which has areas of its casing finished with a matt black effect which is highly attractive. Its navigation key is located on the front of the casing which can be accessed when the casing is both its slide open or slide closed position, & this key has a subtle but effective looking red & silver edging. The Samsung C5130 has a slide out keypad section & this keypad is perfectly formed for ease of use allowing the user to input both numeric & alphabetic text when required. There are well positioned call & feature selection keys, which are located on the front of the casing around the navigation key & below the phones screen. The screen provides a 262,000 colour display on its two inch display which is ideal for the phones built in features. The C5130 has a fairly compact designed casing due to its slide opening design which measures 97.5mm high by 47mm wide by 16.5mm deep.

Imaging, Media & Entertainment The Samsung C5130 comes with a built in 1.3 megapixel digital camera feature allowing the user to capture, save & share their photos & video recordings on their new phone. This camera feature supports video recording capabilities allowing the user to capture video at up to fifteen frames per second. There is an integrated video player which supports video playback in MPEG4 format, H264 & WMV video format. The C5130 supports a lively gaming experience & the user can enjoy downloading new games onto their mobile phone. This phone supports Java™ games & the user can display their games in full colour on the two inch screen. It comes with a FM radio with RDS feature & with FM recording capabilities. For the user that likes music then music can be enjoyed on the handsets built in music player which supports MP3, eAAC+ music format & WAV format. This 3G phone supports MP3 format ringing tones & the user can store their music & ringing tones on the phones memory.


Communication & Messaging The user can access & store their contacts details in the Samsung C5130's phone book feature which can hold up to 1000 contacts at any one time. The C5130 comes with a call log feature which keeps a record of up to thirty missed calls, thirty dialled numbers & thirty received calls. The user can enjoy a photo caller identification feature which allows the user to view a picture of the contact. There is a mobile email service which allows the user to create & share an email from their mobile phone. This handset comes with a text messaging service & a multimedia messaging service allowing the user to send a simple text message containing text only or a more media focused message which includes a photo or video clip with text & sound.

Technology & Internet This handset works over 3G networks UMTS 900 & 2100 as well as working over quad band GSM networks 850, 900, 1800 & 1900. The Samsung C5130 supports GPRS & EDGE technology which provides the user with high speed transfer rates on this slider designed phone. Its 3G technology allows the user to enjoy high speed Internet connectivity & the user can enjoy multi tasking features such as taking a call whilst browsing the Web on the Samsung C5130. The user can gain a connection to other devices using a USB connection or by using Bluetooth® wireless technology. This phone comes with thirty megabytes of built in memory & it has a memory card slot which can support up to eight gigabytes of external memory in MicroSD™ memory card format. The fitted battery provides up to five hundred hours of battery standby time or up to thirteen hours of GSM talk time from a full battery. Its integrated WAP 2.0 Web browser allows the user of the Samsung C5130 to surf the Web for services & information whilst the user is on the move with their mobile handset.
