Nokia N91 8GB is good music phone but only heads free. I love my N91 but I wish Nokia please please please renew the N91 with 32GB hard drive & 8MP camera. Large & bright display. Because I want to see it all time top of list, included N95 speakers. Please do it & see the results.

With 8GB of memory, Wi-Fi, Stereo Bluetooth & S60v3 Symbian OS you have a decent Smartphone & an Excellent Music Phone.

The quality of music through headphones is unmatched by any other phone & is comparable to an iPod. & with a wide range of file formats you can forget converters.

The music player is great & automatically classifies tracks according to Artist, Album, Composer, Genre. You can also create & edit playlists on the phone. The EQ presets are very good & is 8band customizable.

It supports full screen video playback.

Battery life is decent providing 2days of Light usage of music camera & about an hour worth of calls.

The lower part does tend to heat up with heavy video playback.

RAM sometimes proves insufficient & phone becomes tad slow.

You can avoid hanging by not installing apps on hard drive.

Camera is average but photos are near print quality in low resolution (640 x 480) & adequate lighting.

I had this phone for 2 months & then had so much trouble with it & the people from Nokia. It got sent to the shop 5 times because of the many problems with it. Would send text, it would go straight to outbox, then couldn't receive texts & when I did it was 3 days late if I got them at all, some phone calls were not coming through, wouldn't download music, radio would switch on by itself. In the 5 times it was fixed Nokia had changed the whole insides twice. It's now not working for the 6th time so it's going in the kid's toy box.

As for the service that Nokia gave? They have lost me as a customer!

Great for music. That is if it doesn't keep clearing its own memory had it for two months with no problems then after that what a joke, returned it back to the shop on various occasions just to be told rubbish & not getting anywhere I returned home & squashed it with a 14lb sledge hammer (after removing the sim) & bined it. Purchased a Sony w810i which I still have & is faultless.

BEST PHONE EVER MADE! It was really poor in the start (camera got destroyed) & the sellers said it was water damaged & refused to fix it, but except from the camera it is very Nice!

You can just plug your headset straight into your phone without extra wires (ROCKS) & the headphone sounds are really more POWERFUL than any other MP3 players I have tried.

When I bought it 1 year ago it was pretty old already, it seemed to be used very much & the chrome on it & the silver painting is starting to fall off & looks very bad, & it is a shame it is not available more extra covers for it.

But I will recommend it strongly for everyone who likes music.

I purchased this phone in October 2006 & in December 2006 I started facing the problems with this phone like:

- the phone hangs very often, (within 10 days it got hanged twice).
- All the data got deleted automatically (songs, images, messages, etc).
- All the data in tutorials also got deleted.

After so many email & visiting Nokia care centre finally in May 2007 they just changed the board of my mobile assuring that you will not face any problems in future but 2 months have passed & the same problems have arisen.

There were a lot of negative reviews about this phone when it came out. My phone is still working no problem with the battery (like people was saying) & for all people that say the battery dies within a couple of hours on Nokia, READ YOUR MANUAL. EXIT the SOFTWARE RUNNING ON YOUR PHONE.

I have decided to stay loyal to Nokia, by upgrading my contract going to get N95, instead of a Sony. BIG UP Nokia. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU GUYS DO BEST, CREATING SMARTPHONE.

I bought this phone about a year ago & for me it's just an average phone. Just like all the other tech stuff in the market, it's only good for the first few months & after that, after they've released a better one, you'll feel that your phone is already outdated, & the 'best' will become the 'worse'. The only problem I have had with this phone is that it takes about a minute to send messages! It's so annoying! My message is not that important anymore by the time it gets sent! At times, the music & video players hang as well & I just end up not using them anymore because I don't want to waste my time & it will just end up hanging again. So far those are just the problems that I have encountered with this phone. This is just an average phone that got overrated just like all the other phones out there, & soon to come, that's only good for the first few months & after that, it will just become another piece of history.

I purchased this phone online, after reading mostly positive reviews from test handlers. Now although I ha a glimpse of it in shops, I didn't truly realise its awesome size until it was in the palms of both my hands (I have large hands too).

That being said, I was immediately impressed with the sound quality on the MP3, which after all, was one of its biggest selling points (4meg hard drive). This is still pretty good, even if when in your pocket you can now & again expect to hear a faint sound of music emanating from your pants (it that's where your pockets are) as the key lock isn't brilliant.

Now for the real complaint. This phone is awful! It is so unreliable, that you have to download everything onto your PC or laptop every few weeks, in order to re-boot it. Why? I have no idea what the true technical reason is, but basically if you don't, the phone slows down to an absolute minimum, to the point where I have waited for up to 10 (yes that's ten) minutes for it to send a message (with the screen frozen).

If that wasn't bad enough, Nokia really need to consider improving their batteries before improving their phones, as watching then battery level drain by the hour makes it impractical, & re-charging it every day without fail becomes a serious chare.

Nokia, I had always been faithful to, but I feel cheated by this phone, & for the first time, will look at other manufacturers.

In conclusion, please, please don't buy this phone!

Went for this phone having always been a fan of Nokia. In my experience they are more robust & user friendly. Was attracted by the huge MP3 capacity & the fact that it's a standard 3.5ml headphone socket rather than manufacturers hands-free only. Plenty of features to keep you busy but found mine (replaced twice in 1 year) had a tendency to freeze & crash at annoying times. Now refuses to send texts, claiming lack of memory space. Even though there is 2.5 gig left on the hard drive.

Have since reverted to using old Nokia 3610 whilst waiting for Sony Ericsson w880i. Sorry Nokia, lost my loyalty there!

Do you feel lucky?

I got this phone so I could spend the day listening to music or radio but be able to switch to phone easily the fact that it had a proper head phone socket was a bonus & the amount of albums I've got stored on the phone is huge.

But, I am on my 5th phone in 9 months two replacements & two repairs. Problems with the operating system crashing & with the micro switches on the buttons failing. No one is offering this phone at the moment it seems so I would steer clear.

Ps when the phones working it is the best phone I've had.

Don't expect it to last too long. I had this for a month & by this point the contacts for the speaker on the slider were damaged from being in my pocket. The speaker phone is rubbish. If I move it against the side of my head whilst talking I get interference. The UI hangs all the time, the phone locks up for up to 3 minutes (timed) after sending a text, not very useful. Hardly came with any features installed, hell even the calculator is a pain to use. The UI is very slow in general. Will crash &/or hang for minutes at a time. Press the play button, can take up to 50 seconds (timed) for it to start playing a music file or stop playing. Also seems to be an issue with the key lock not working properly, as many a time it'll start playing music in my pocket, with the lock on.

Also about the size of a breeze block, but heavier.

Nokia again does it. What its best at! Disappoint! The phone is bundled with every feature you can imagine! But fails miserably in quality! The camera is worse than Sony Ericsson K750. Sound quality is amazing. But not up to Sony Ericsson Walkman series standards. The stock headsets sound fare poorly in quality. & I don't have the courage to shell out extra bucks on Bose headsets to satisfy myself. I wud rather carry a laptop in a bag than a phone with that weight in my pocket! Screen quality isn't that good. & the UI is disappointingly slow! Even hangs at times.

I shoud have bought a low end Intel Celeron laptop.

This phone has some great specs, shame it's let down.

I don't know when this review was written but the N91 does not have an automatic light sensor on the front as shown in the pictures.

I have also an N70 & an N80 & I prefer both to this.

Even the N70 camera is better than this one, & I am not saying that for the sake of it.

The N70 comes with a plethora of applications preinstalled on the mem card, my N91 came with none.

I have problems with the N91 freezing constantly, read errors from the hard drive. Copying over 2GB of music takes over half an hour. If you set message memory to HDD or install any apps like themes on there etc prepare for it to run like a slug in the wind.

I won't even dare compare the N80 to this because that Phone is out of its league. Superior in every way, lacking only the storage capacity.

Enjoy

I am having major problems with my n91 & the phone has already been back to 02 for repair & needs to go back again. Firstly there was a fault with the memory & now the screen keeps freezing on it. I have to keep taking out the battery & re booting it. My service provider 02 have been a complete waste of space. They refuse to replace the phone & if you take it in to get it repaired they will give you an out of date 3410 Nokia & charge you £25 for the privilege. Bit like taking your Audi TT in for a service & getting a mini metro as a courtesy car.

This is because this phone is in a nutshell as reliable as a chocolate fireman. It freezes & takes bout 5 mins to send a message. I am now getting the N73 next week & from the reviews of other people on this website a much beta phone.

Lack luster design, absolutely top heavy & most of all cumbersome. This phone was extremely disappointing... the great media technology redeems it a little, but the software is so so SO slow! It is utterly pathetic at the best of times & lags as well as spontaneously reboots itself. Having met a few people with this phone it seems that my frustrations with this phone are not unique. At least if some one tries to mug me it'll make a decent weapon:)! The W950i which I am getting soon seems to have the important bases covered & with a little bit of panache as well.

I have had this phone since June & have had nothing but problems with it, I stopped having Nokia phones a few years ago because it seemed that their designs were getting tired. When I saw the N91, I decided to give Nokia another try - I really wish that I hadn't now, I can't fault the design & I knew that it was going to be a heavy phone, but I have had nothing but problems with it & neither O2 or Nokia re very helpful at fixing my problem - I have never been able to connect to my wireless network, text messages send very slowly one normal text (even if 3G is available) can take up to 2 minutes to send & while it sends my phone will freeze. Then there is the problem of it constantly re-booting during calls. so nope I am afraid I have to say I will never buy Nokia again.

This phone has tonnes of features...its heavy as said before but that is not a problem for me...For those who complain it to be heavy-"Many reviews said that the phone is heavy for its features...then why did you buy the phone knowing that it is heavy!!!"...If you ppl need a light weighted feature less phone with a mp3 player that doesn't support eAAC+ format go for SE Walkman phones...never turn towards Nokia. With advanced eAAC+ format, I can store up to 450 songs on a 512MB memory with the same quality as that of MP3. Hence I can nearly store up to 4000 songs on N91 which supports eAAC+ which is a really big advantage which none of the SE phones support...hence only 1000 songs can be stored in a 4GB memory stick duo in SE Walkman phones which is RUBBISH!!!. Nokia Rulz again. N91 has a big screen to watch videos where SE phones have small screens, which makes it useless for watching videos. N91 can record videos up to 356x288 resolution, SE phones can Never. Hence Nokia Wins Hands Down. Never compare Nokia with SE again.

Are you talking to me? Well I don't see anyone else here. The Nokia N91 is bit big YES, but this phone replaces your ipod, camera & radio. It's all you ever need. You just need a good cover & you're laughing.

I have always been a huge fan of Nokia's, but N91 happens to be the last Nokia handset I am ever going to purchase. I am greatly disappointed in this handset. For starters, a VGA camera is extremely missed, hence, no video calling, which is a shame for a handset of this size & weight. Its HHUUUGGGGEEEE.., & heavy. Not nearly as user friendly as you would expect from a Nokia handset. The battery would hardly last 40 minutes of talk time & you have to put it on charge every night b4 going to bed. Otherwise be ready for surprises the following day. DONT BUY IT. DONT EVEN ACCEPT IT AS A GIFT.

I have had this handset for two months now & already I am fed up with it. I purchased this handset off CARPHONE WAREHOUSE. The first handset I received was faulty, the replacement handset seemed to have similar problems as the first one & CARPHONE are UNABLE to help in this matter. So end of Nokia, Carphone Warehouse & O2 for me. I have placed an order for LG U400 on 3 Network & can't wait to have it as have had some really cool reviews for that handset.

I received this phone as an upgrade a week ago. Very big, just like a very old skool Motorola. So that makes it heavy. So if you don't like big phones, don't get this one. The features are excellent, especially if you need a personal organiser. Sorts me out like a treat as the organiser is on the front screen so you won't ever forget any information you input i.e. birthdays, things to do.

Music been jamming my phone up so the 4gb seems a bit too much for the phone as my old Sony Ericsson with a 512mb chip was fine. I am taking it back to swap but this is solely because it's too big for me, but has everything you need on it otherwise. Also phone calls can be sound crackly occasionally not sure if I had a dodgy phone, but hope I have more luck with the next one.

Very good specification on this Nokia N91 mobile phone. We are hoping it is pleasant to use & highly reliable. The music player should be of outstanding quality & can play MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, Real, WAV, WMA, & true tones formats. The sound will be good quality on this model. The technology is very good with 3G, Bluetooth, XHTML browser & it's got Symbian OS. Our only negative points would be that it weighs 164 grams & the talk time is only 4 hours & standby is 190 hours, which may cause us problems.
