Slim & light just it has no music fun. & no removable memory & the phone memory is too low just 10MB.the talk time is good & the screen is better than my other phone 3230. It does not support symbian so it has afew amount of softwares. I think you should buy it if you are a business man but if you are looking for a phone that supports a lot of multimedias & softwares I think you should buy the phone I ust bought, N82.

This is a great phone with great features which are completely spoilt by the ridiculous keypad. The keys are simply tiny & completely frustrating to use. I constantly have to make multiple attempts to dial a number & texting is a chore for the same reason. I have thin fingers & I really struggle. Fat fingers need not apply. Battery life is fine, 2 days of normal use. The operating system does hang but not too often & not to the point of frustration. The GPS is excellent & is free to use. You do pay if you want voice guidance. MP3 player is also good & radio is okay, but not as good as my previous Sony. To conclude the phone is a great idea, poorly executed. The buttons are simply un useable by people, with fingers. Persons with styli for digits will be delighted.

Great phone. Could be slightly slimmer, but then again it does have a lot of features! Photos from the camera are normally better than from my digital camera! Great colourful screen. Fast phone, easy to use.

About 3 months after getting this phone, had a problem with not being able to send texts, but I sent the phone back & it was fixed & returned within 3 days. It took a while to get used to texting on this phone but now it is efortless. Best phone I've had so far!

I have had this phone almost 1 month, it's screen is huge & watching videos is a pleasure. Music too, sound great, both on the haeadphone as well on the loudspeaker.

But I am quite disappointed with its performance. One of the speakers has stopped functioning, the 5 mpx camera used to start after opening the shutter, but now even the camera is dead. It doesn't start on opening the shutter ( I am holding my own with only the secondary VGA camera). Battery life is less & this set hangs a lot.

I went from the SE K810i to this stunning phone. Having never used S60 before it took me about two weeks to get used to it, but now it's all good. Keys for me are alright, & I simply love the camera (especially the xenon flash) & the GPS.

I highly recommend buying SkyeQuikey from Skyestream (about £10) for navigating your S60 3rd edition phone. It makes using the phone many times faster & more enjoyable.

The phone is ideally suited for people who want a Swiss army knife of phones, it simply does everything :o).

This is one of the best phones I´ve ever had. Great music player, GPS, Wi Fi & well, you name it & the N82 has got it :).

However, a little bit difficult to switch from Sony Ericsson to Nokia with Symbian, but after a while you get used to it.

Had mine for a month now & I am really impressed. I spent hours studying reviews on this site before going for this model. The camera is amazing & I am sick that I recently bought a new digital camera which will soon be sold! I cannot find any faults with this phone & the sat nav facility is truly amazing. How Nokia can cram all these features into a mobile this size is beyond me & I would highly recommend it.

Simply love the phone. Sometimes hangs & restarts with Opera Mini, but works with it otherwise. LOVE the camera & the GPS. The 100MB internal memory is a blessing. Xenon flash is a beauty, helps take killer photographs.

I've heard of people getting software issues with this phone but it's been working as beautifully now after 8 months of usage as it was when I bought it.

GO FOR IT! Fantastic phone.

I don't know what to do what should I get this or the N95 (8GB) both are brilliant, but this is better for imaging & the N95 is better for music. I wanted a phone with high internal memory so the N95 8GB is a better choice unless there is such thing as the N82 8GB. Need advice please Quick!

Hi, this phone is nice to have. I am using it for the past 2 months. It has almost all of the features that other Nokia phones have.

The only thing that I didn't like about the phone is that there is no functionality to disable Voice dialling which annoys me if I have connected head phones to my mobile & the large button gets pressed by mistake (it directly call any random number without notice if I have removed the ear phones from my ear), also while listening to music on ear phones to change any songs I have to unlock my phone go to music player & change the song.

Regarding keypad one gets used to it after a day or so. Rest of the things are too good.

Got rid of my n95 8GB for one of these as I just could not get used to the slider. Anyway I love the n82 it's by far the best phone I've owned so far, my only critisism is the battery life but if you turn off the 3G & turn the brightness down it's much much better. Had it on holidays with me & the camera is FANTASTIC no other word for it.

I am using tomtom sat nav with my phone after finding a fix on the Internet which lets you use the built in reciever with it & it's amazing far better than the Nokia maps.

I've been doing lots of research on Nokia phones here on this website & saw that this particular model has the best reviews so far. I got a unit yesterday but I had to return & upgrade it to an N95 8GB today. Reason for doing so was the awkward keypad & somewhat dull screen.

Here in the Philippines, we do text messaging a LOT. Texting using the N82 was a bit hard for me. I felt that the keys are just a bit too cramped & small. Coming from an N93, which I should say in my opinion has the best keypad I've ever used, the N82's were just too hard for heavy usage.

Next is the screen, I was quite surprised to see that the N82's is a bit dull. Comparing it to the screen of my N93, even on maximum brightness setting, this unit somewhat lacks the quality I was expecting for a 16 million LCD.

I only replace my phone when the previous one conks out (or is beginning to). So a phone usually lasts me at least two to three years. The N82 is a good phone, don't get me wrong based on my comments, but for my type of usage (mostly text messaging), I would not recommend it. Three years of dealing with the awkward keypad & dull display? No thanks.

For the benefit of the people who're looking for a phone that won't be used for a lot of text messaging, here are some of the good points.

- Its really fast! No lags whatsoever.
- Never hung on me. Well yeah, I only had it for a day but I did push it to the limit by opening & using all apps.
- Nice looking phone (at least the black one).
- Has the potential to get really smudgy in the front, but out of the box, Nokia installed plastic covering around the phone so I recommend not removing at least the one on the keypad.
- Excellent back up & restoring software (PC Suite).
- Nice camera with the xenon flash.

I just got this phone yesterday & so far (touchwood) it's been great! NO battery problems so far, the camera is excellent. I have the black version which looks simply stunning! I know the silver does look a bit ugly but the black one is an absolute peach. I have yet to check out the AGPS & the Wi-Fi. But I m sure that will good too.

The only problem I did have, was adjusting to the keypad which is a bit cramped. But I have got used to it now.

Overall a must have! Recommended. Those who are looking for alternative to N95 (I don't like sliding phones).

This phone is probably the best phone I have ever had. I have had the N95 which is nowhere near as good. I got the black version which looks amazing. The only issue I have with this phone is that the end call button is a little stiff & doesn't click so your not sure whether you have actually pressed it or not. The keypad is slightly cramped but you soon get used to that after a couple of hours. The phone slowed down a lot after I had installed Tom Tom but was fine after a restart. The built in Nokia Maps is better than Tom Tom 6 Mobile. It actually gets a fix indoors quickly as opposed to my Bluetooth GPS receiver not managing to get a fix indoors at all. Camera quality is pretty good & has the benefit of a proper flash. This phone feels as if it is built to last & I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

This phone's incredible, I got the silver version which is why I rated it 90% but the Black version looks stunning. The phone is not buggy at all, & the new firmware which I just got supports Flash Lite 3 so I can watch YouTube & other FLV files.

Overall a good phone, well worth the price, anyone looking for an alternative to the N95 with the same features but a smaller phone, look no further. My gratitude to Nokia for solving that problem for me.

I was very disappointed with this phone. This phone is big & ugly, in the sun the light reflects off your face, the camera is okay but not what I paid for, the buttons are awful to use, & it is an overall waste of money. After one month of havoc, I returned it & brought a cheaper Samsung g600 which is much more user friendly & much better, down to each feature.

In theory this phone has almost everything, but in practice, really not much.

The main reason I bought it was for the GPS, but it takes so long to get a fix (even with AGPS), that it barely makes it worthwhile. The last 2 times I've tried it took about 8 minutes & 15 minutes respectively to get a fix, both on open ground in good weather (walking, not driving).

The camera is pretty good, but not as good as the 3.2 MP one on my old Sony Ericsson K800i (great phone, only replaced due to broken screen).

The Wi-Fi & Bluetooth are handy, & the Bluetooth is great for easy synching with your PC, I do like the Nokia 'Life blog' software.

The camera, GPS, Wi-Fi & now keyboard all malfunctioned at separate times during the first month with the phone. Phone currently in for repair to try & resolve these.

This isn't a bad phone, but it feels like it just hasn't been finished properly. I wouldn't mind the fact that it's a bit big & ugly if everything worked as it should, but unfortunately it just doesn't.

Well I am a guy & guys tend to have largish hands, especially Europeans. This phone although packed with useful features, excellent Wi-Fi, good camera it is essentially unusable. Really, go in the shop & try. The buttons are horizontal lines, very difficult to press except for using the nails of your fingers not the finger skin area. If you use the phone one handed & use your thumb to text then this phone is impossible. If you use your nails then why not the small circular keys of the Sony Ericsson K810?

Why do Nokia flaw all their phones with some major issue.

This Nokia N82 is PERFECT! So much better than the N73, K850i & the Samsung G800!

DESIGN.
I personally love it, different but in a good way. It has a mirror front with great quality screen. Plus it looks like a real digital camera from the back.

FEATURES.
WOW. The Nokia N82 has it all. The camera is way better than my digital camera which is 7.2 megapixels! With the Xenon flash you can take superb photos in an absolutely dark room with no lights! The Nokia N82 5 megapixel camera phone is now my digital camera. The MP3 is also a great feature & it has great sound. All the music I listen is loud & clear. The GPS is also cool & helpful, BRAVO Nokia!

USABILITY.
It's easy to use, the keypad isn't that bad & it's really a fast phone. Not some stupid touch screen buttons like the Sony Ericsson K850i.

Although, it is a great phone, because of its 5 megapixel camera & a xenon flash, its design is ugly because of its colour. It's like a can goods without a wrapper. Its design makes it an ordinary phone to me.

You can compare this N82 with any other mobile phone, but there's no way. This is the best one I had in my hands. All the features are as I expected & the usability is absolutely complete & easy to carry on. In reference to design, & the way it looks, it is fantastic, of course, this is the way I liked a phone, & Nokia did it again.

I love this phone. I had the N73 & I was getting to the point where it nearly got chucked out of the window as it had so many software problems. I love the look of the phone, its geeky, not sleek like say a Samsung but for what it lacks in looks it make up for in toys. I love the camera & MP3 player. The GPS is a great & there are no more arguments over who gets the laptop as I can now browse wireless on the phone. The only downside is the teeny buttons for dialling & texting. My male mate couldn't get his chunky fingers round the keyboard very well.

All in all it does what it says on the tin. A quality phone with everything you could wish for. Well apart from it can't open a bottle of wine on demand but we can't have everything eh?

Had this phone about 6 weeks & love the features, yes it's big & a little ugly but, the camera is better than my digital one it's easy to use & if I can download the pictures then anyone can! The music is clear & easy to get on it. It's also one of the loudest phones I've had so I can hear it ring, easy to send texts, altogether great, I LOVE IT, but the looks could be improved.

This phone has a wow factor of 10 out of 10. Since I managed to get my hands on this beauty I cannot put it down. It's so nice to surf the web from my comfortable sofa using Wi-Fi technology & knowing its free surfing. The N82 allows you to surf standard web pages as well as WAP pages. I tend to log onto Facebook frequently & it's just like being on my laptop.

The N82 is perfect for photography, I don't have to keep hunting for my digital camera each time I want to take a picture. Uploading my pictures from my phone was quick & easy & I was so impressed with the quality. Sharp crisp colourful photos. Brilliant.

Now even a bigger bonus, a video camera that takes actual video quality movies. Awesome. I filmed my little boy playing & later played the video back through the TV using the supplied video lead that comes with the phone. I couldn't believe this video was coming from a phone.

I am so impressed with the N82 but then I decided to play some MP3 tracks through my headphones. My last phone was a Sony Ericsson W910i & I thought the Walkman was good quality, but the N82 sound quality was breathtaking.

So let's see, I have a web browser, a 5 mega pixel camera, a Video camera, & a high quality MP3 player all in one neat phone & that's just a few of the many features. Oh & isn't the Sat Nav just brilliant. So now I need never get lost.

I know some people find the N82 a little bulky & not as pretty as a flower, but come on guys this phone is packed with so many features & just does everything perfectly.

I am so pleased with this phone. It's brilliant!

Wow. What can I say, the Nokia N82 is a super phone!

Many months ago I purchased a Nokia N95 & was very disappointed with the way this phone performed & sadly I had to hand it back to the phone shop with the illusion that Nokia had released this phone in too much of a hurry without giving it proper development. Well it seems they have listened to everyone's complaints & released the N95 8G & N82 to prove to the world they can come up with a market leader.

The N82 is fantastic, with a nice large display & excellent resolution. Inside this phone is a powerhouse that just throbs with awesome software. Using the latest Symbian programming Nokia have really done their homework.

For starters, the Sat Nav has been given a workover & now performs much faster in logging on to those sats in the sky. The music machine in this phone is awesome, it comes with nice styled headphones. The headphones are a new design & now all the wires are covered in a snap proof flexible shield & a support hangs over the back of the neck & the ear pieces just pop into the ear without them dragging out every time to turn your head.

The music quality is fantastic & well above my expectations. I have listened to a lot of good Sony Walkmans & the N82 just leaves them standing in quality of sound.

The Wi-Fi facility works without a hitch. My Wireless router was a real problem with my N95 but now my N82 just keeps connected with no problems. While we are on the subject of Internet, On the Nokia website you can download a lot of freebie programs for the Nokia N range of mobiles, & one of which is very good. Try the Internet Radio program, which can either be used via your GSM network or better still through Wi-Fi connection. There are so many radio stations World Wide it would take you months to go through them all.

The 5 megapixel camera is as good as ever & also the Video camera is outstanding. Using all the functions of the N82 is straightforward & with so many it would take me a long time to go through them all.

My advice is give this phone a try & you won't be disappointed, I am very choosy when it comes to mobile phones, however the Nokia N82 has completely won me over.

This is truly the most feature packed phone available on the market today, Wi Fi, N Gage, 5MP camera & all the works, in terms of features, this is truly a complete phone, second to none.

The main downside to this otherwise masterpiece is that I find it pretty ugly & bulky.

Got my N82 stolen a couple of days ago & plan to replace it with the much sleeker but relatively lacking E51.

Really cool phone but it's a big old girl. However the camera is totally awesome. I had a N73 which I loved but the camera is lousy at night with its LCD flash. The N82 has totally sorted this problem. In fact, you can safely leave your digital camera at home now. So yes it's a big phone but much smaller than carrying two devices on a night out.

In a nutshell, only buy this phone if you love taking photos & videos. If you love facebook, you so need this phone. This phone will totally deliver on photography. There are other Nokia products which do pretty much the same in terms of calendar, tasks, MP3, Wi Fi blah blah.

The N82 is great! I've been using it for nearly a month, installed tons of apps & it still hasn't crashed, locked up or randomly rebooted like a lot of Smartphones do.

I love the design, although other hate it (a bit like marmite really). The operating system is faster & smoother compared to the N95 or N95 8GB. Its best feature is its camera. The colour quality is amazing & the xenon flash makes a massive difference in low light.

I would recommend this phone to anyone who wants a great all round Smartphone with the current best camera.

The good, it has a great xenon flash, 5MP camera, a great MP3 player & wifi!

The bad, this phone has some bad things! Let's begin with the design! What looks great in photo, looks awful in hands, yes, this phone is pretty big, a little ugly & it's completely plastic, yes, what looks metal in the photo it's an horrible material! For a phone that costs 600 Euro's it looks a cheap one in hand, or an old one!

Conclusion, this is a phone with everything! It could be a great alternative for people who want all in one (like n95) & don't want a slide phone. But not everything is as good as it likes!

I've expected much more from Nokia & from this phone, it's a completely disappointment, will be forgotten soon!

Final score is 72.

Hello friends Season Greetings to all & have a great holiday ahead. I bought this beauty from Alpha Market (Huge & famous mobile phone Market in Mumbai, India) for 24700INR (Indian Rupees). Previously n95 8GB fascinates me but no camera protection & key slider was disappointing. So I decided to wait until new year, around 2008's 2nd quarter so that Nokia will launch its new phone range. Recently my friend told me about n82, more than the model & platinum body. Camera shutter, Xenon flash, 5MP camera with Carl Ziess optics attracted me. So I changed my mind & bought this phone.

In India N Series lot. But since I'm using this phone last 2 weeks I feel N82 comes to succeed it & become the most affordable of feature loaded Nokia camera phones, with its xenon flash which is superior compared to LED flash & it's the main feature which is attention grabber of buyers & divert their mind to buy this handset instead of n95 (8GB). In India Nokia have made lot of promotion through big banners in shopping malls to pop up ads in print & Internet media, n95 (8GB) holding the flagship for Nokia everywhere, but I assure all of you that n82 will break this ha ha & win the market competition with its great features. Another good thing about this phone is camera lens cover (camera shutter) which is necessity for me. I am Insurance guy & need to travel a lot on daily basis so can't carry delicate handsets in my pocket. While saying this, the product sales guy said this phone has scratch proof body I don't know how much its true or its marketing gimmick, that only time will tell.

The microSD slot of the phone has a neat plastic cap but the other two apertures aren't covered in any way, which somewhat spoils this particular side view. With N82 signal reception is just what you would expect in a high end Nokia phone, simply flawless. The vibration is also strong enough to make sure you never miss an incoming call or message. The phone offers brilliant speaker quality & the sound during calls is very clear & without any interferences.

Using the reliable S60 platform & the latest 9.2 version of the Symbian OS, Nokia N82 uses an innovative 3D multimedia menu with sensitive content & accelerometer sensor for auto rotate. Also Nokia N82 offers support for Nokia web services available through Ovi, including the Nokia Music Store, NGage games & Nokia Maps.

Main disadvantages, Controversial design & questionable ergonomics, No RDS for the FM radio, Below average GPS performance, Extra charges apply for voice assisted navigation, No office documents editing application & doesn't charge off USB. N Series line up & while it certainly lives up to that title, it doesn't look like one.

P.S. For Indians it's better to wait May 2008 as chances of n82 music edition launch with 4GB card is there. So phone will become value for money.

I had a Sony Ericsson handset & was due an upgrade.

I wanted to go for a 5 megapixel camera phone & the obvious choice was the new Sony 850i, however, I did not like the look of it or the keypad, so I went for the brand new Samsung g800 photographer phone instead. Having got home I tested it as much as I could.

The camera was awful, every picture I took was blurred. I tried all the settings but to no avail. Not only that but the phone was hard to use, heavy & long winded.

I took it back & asked to cancel my upgrade. They offered me the Nokia n95 which I have heard has terrible battery life, & the new Ericsson which I almost succumbed to until a customer in the shop began telling me how awful it was. She was bringing hers back!
I was told I couldn't & they gave me the new Nokia n82 to try.

This phone is absolutely phenomenal.

Its user friendly, intelligent & most of all the pictures are crystal clear & professional.

The video is outstanding, & no blurring!

There is a standard minijack so you can connect the handset to any hi-fi unit.

The sound quality is fantastic & loud. The handset also has stereo speakers!

After falling in love with this phone, there was one major problem.

I couldn't get my Mac to recognize it. This would have been huge problem for me but luckily after checking the Nokia website for support advice & a software update, I am now fully synced up.

This phone is the bee's knees & I am only just discovering what it can do.

I strongly recommend it to everyone.

Have been using this phone for almost 3 weeks now, the buttons might be the least I liked about the phone. It's really a snappy phone, I would consider it as my everyday camera phone especially with its xenon flash which is superior compared to LED flash. Just my unit has 3 stuck pixels on it which is so small that is hardly noticeable, don't if a firmware update will fix it.

N-Series phone in startup.

The 5MP camera with lens cover is also very fast compare to N95. With Xenon Flash it is the best phone ever for night shootout. But the appearance is not really very good. The keypad is very small with invisible button labels, Small Screen (2.4') for gps Navigation, no remote control functions for headset.

I think buyers will love this beauty! (n82) only for its features.

I have just got the N82 & still getting to use all the functions. My initial reaction is it has a classy feel to it & slightly heavy compared with most other models available in the market but this is to be expected for the extra features packed into a small package. The screen display is good & clear even in bright light. The shots taken in the daylight showed very good resolution & is definitely a great improvement from those taken by my previous Nokia N80. These are early days yet & still have to check out the gps & music player functions. So far I am happy with it.
