I absolutely adore this phone! It can be pretty slow at times but a little patience overcomes this problem, & the other slight problem is the paint chipping away & the brittle memory card flap. I've heard people say that the screen scratches easily but I have had this phone nearly a year now & there's not a scratch on it. These slightly negative aspects are not a patch on the positive ones with a great camera, great gallery & I have found that the inbox can hold about 1700 messages which is great if youre lazy like me & never get round to deleting them. The two different screens allow you to have two wallpapers which is a nice touch too.

I would recommend this phone to anyone as it is simply amazing to use & amazing to look at, & as long as you treat it with care you won't have any problems! I will find it hard to let this phone go when the time comes to upgrade. This will be a tough phone to beat.

I bought this phone about a few months. The paint job is the problem. The chrome coated area is peeling off, & now my memory card slot cover breaks. The sound isn't that loud. Build quality is poor, beautiful things won't last long I guess.

Dear all, I am using this phone for the last 3 months & it's working really superb. Most of the users say that this phone freezes often. This is because of not updating the phone's Firmware. Please update your phone's Firmware to the latest version which is available from the Nokia's site.

I don't know why Nokia is shipping their phones with older version of Firmware. If anybody read these reviews from Nokia, please consider this point.

Here is my story, battery last nothing, it scratches very easily, looked old just after 24 hr from purchase, reception poor due to software fault & some days I don't get messages for the same reason. Today for the same reason all my messages got wiped off! Went to shop & they said yeah it's that type of mobile phone, they have taken them all off the market. Meantime I lost 700 messages! DON'T BUY.

I had a lot of Nokia phones, when I see the N76, I liked a lot its size & how it looks similar to the Motorola, it didn't take me much time to think.

I bought it then after 11 days exactly the silver paint peels off especially below the MP3 buttons & on the side & on the shaky cover of the memory card. This made the phone lose the most single thing I admired about the design.

Menus are slow, some buttons doesn't work & I have to restart it to make it work, ringtones is very weak, I barely can hear it, & I hate it when the MP3 work accidently in my pocket, battery is OK, it last for 4 days & the camera isn't bad at daylight, horrible at night.

I don't recommend it.

The Phone looks good & stylish, but here is my story. After having tons of Nokia phones, like 2110, 3110, 5110, 6110, 6120, 6200, 7110, 8100, 8860, 6230, 6230i, 6218, this one (N76) was the worst one ever build by Nokia, that I've touch with my hands.

- After having phone in my possession in 2h, I had to send it to service, the 'menu' button was broken. It took them 1, 5 months to replace the phone.

- Then the first thing to do was to update new firmware or the phone will freeze every time you look at it, & I mean 'look' not 'touch'.

- If you have headset, you can't open phone all the way.

- If you answer on headset, it takes 2-3 sec to get connection.

- Headset is all plastic, if you touch a button, it will stick, & you never know if your mute button is activated.

- When you answer none will hear you screaming. :- (

- Menu is so complicated, it is not similar to previous Nokia phones. Some things you can find in few different places, some things you can't find at all. Like find missing calls, you have to press ten buttons, then you get the log list witch will not allowed you to call from that list, then you have to press ten more buttons to call those numbers. How do those developers think?

- If you have an application or camera running in open phone mode & you close it, application will run until your battery dies. In other words in 2-3 hours.

- Same thing if you press red button during application run, it will not close the application, but it will take it off the screen, then you have to find all your running applications & close them before your battery dies & that's just the few things that will happen on daily basis.

The only good thing I can come up with for this phone is that it will support SDHC memory card (up to 8GB at the time) & it doesn't need to be Nokia original.

Nice looking phone, stylish & sleek. Made on the cheap! The paint peels after about a month to reveal PLASTIC! Now it looks rubbish.

Keyboard takes a while to get used to & the menus are difficult to find the features you need as they don't follow a logical order e.g. Call Log under Applications.

The usual Nokia things happen which we have all got used to by now.
- Phone crashes.
- Phone rings but unable to answer.
- Phone freezes during a call.

Overall I am very disappointed with the phone as I know Nokia can do better.

Nokia if you're reading this you need to stop releasing rubbish phones! This is the fourth Nokia phone I've had which has been poor quality. My next phone in Feb will be an iPhone.

This phone is pretty good for my liking it's not my favourite but I have had problems with the battery life & the paint coming off my phone looks well old & the paint is still coming off! I have had it a couple months now.

When I play music or games it makes a weird noise & freezes turns itself off & back on, really winds me up.

By the way does anybody have any problem with it not going off when they get texts because my phone doesn't go off when I get a text & I am constantly checking it grrr.

Overall good phone it's OK, music player brilliant, messages got over 2000 in my inbox thanks expandable memory!

I love my phone! It looks great, works pretty fabulously & music sounds quite fantastic.

Fingerprints must only show up on the black models, I was holding one in the Nokia shop & it got all finger printy, but the red one is great, no finger prints. I just pray I don't drop it though, I don't want to damage it, even a little scratch, it is that good! BUT the PHONE IS IN RED!

- the keys are too small
- Paint peels off

- Microphone doesn't work
- Camera keeps freezing
- Battery life is poor.
- Gets dirty very easily

So I took it in for repairs. Most problems are resolved but I am still disappointed.

I am not really sure if it is my problem or if it is a common problem of N76. My battery just dies so quickly. The manual I have suggests that the battery can last for 8.5 days. Somehow, my battery only last for 1.5 days. I am really confused if it is just my problem or it is a common problem for all N76 users.

I bought another spare one, BUT again, it only last for 1.5 days! What's wrong with this phone?

Hi all. Well I am absolutely gutted. This phone looks great & the camera is second to none. Great video too & no time limit on video. Lovely looks & feels great. However, yes, my silver paint came off. But I sorted that. Polished the rest of the silver off & it ended up black & white. Looked like airwolf. Cool.

Like other folk, I found it hard to open one handed. But luckily, god gave me a spare hand. One final problem, I dropped it & it got run over. It did not like that. Dead phone.

I have bought this phone a couple of weeks ago & I have to say although I don't think it's as bad as other reviewers have said it is, there are a few let downs I have to point out:

- It is extremely hard to open with one hand.
- It switched off abruptly one day out of the blue (the battery was full when I switched it back on).
- Its flat keypad takes some time to get used to.

Other than those I like this phone a lot & I have got used to its flaws & learnt a lot.

N76 is kind of slim compared to other Nokia phones especially the slide & the flip ones. After reading all the reviews & problem faced by this, I've decided to use the plastic covers so as to protect the phone as well as the screen protector.

I like the design (actually I like flip & slide phones). The features are okay since I am just into 3G. Sharp camera picture is not that important to me. So it's just a bonus to have the built-in camera & the good sound (plus the radio).

All in all, I am well satisfied with this phone. Looks trendy but definitely doesn't suit anyone who is aggressive.

Looks OK a bit plastic though, battery life acceptable but could be far better, camera not as good as I thought it would be & the handset when closed is a good size but when opened I feel like Dom Jolly. The glass screen on the front is very fragile & I have two cracks in mine already.

Being able to read messages without opening the phone is good. Lots of extras that I don't use & probably never will e.g. GPS I have sat nav, MP3 player I have an iPod, etc.

Not as loud as I wanted & when the phone is shut & in my pocket the music on the phone will start playing. I wouldn't recommend I am getting a 6500classic instead.

OK I just want to say that I have rated the design of this phone as 100% only because I love flip phones! This phone is a stunner to look at.

However, after only 3 days of having it I took it back. Reason being, if you have nails you cannot use the keypad on this phone! I am an absolute textaholic but it really is impossible on this phone, the buttons are sunken in so you hit every other button apart from the one you want! Really annoying! Features & usability are like all other Nokias so satisfied with that. Music was really good, loud & basey! If I could have text using the thing I would have kept it but have now swapped it for the Sony Ericsson k850i as there is literally no decent flip phones out at the moment!

Bring back the flip phones!

N76. What can I say about it? First time I saw it on advertisements it looked like such a FLAWLESS phone; its beautiful sleek & slim design & its features. Just like what Nokia call it, COMPUTER BEAUTIFULLY MADE. But after all this time I've been using this type of mobile phone, this N76 is just getting more & more & more PATHETIC. Not that it's been broken down by frequently usage, but that N76 ITSELF is a BIG TERRIBLE MISTAKE from Nokia! I don't understand why such big mobile phone manufacturers like Nokia DOESN'T HAVE A HIGH QUALITY STANDARD for its mobile phones?

Here are some of my N76's problems:
- My N76 often got switched off by itself (means that NOBODY push the Power Button) even when I am not using it.
- the cover (which I thought was beautiful SLEEK & slim) is made from PLASTIC! Which is NOT SUITABLE for a mobile phone which has price 4.000.000 rupiahs (about US$400). It should only have price 2.000.000 rupiahs (about US$200)!
- the feature is just so Symbian OS version 9. NOT MUCH improved.
- the keypad is just too DISAPPOINTING.
- the speaker is also not too clear.

& many other that I even forget because the flaw of N76 is just too much for me! I mean, come on. Nokia can set price US$400 for that kind of FAILURE PRODUCT? IT'S JUST WAY TOO DISAPPOINTING! If it's not just for its slim & flip design, I would have 100% regretted trusting Nokia.

Nice looks & works fine as a phone. The chrome came off & it revealed PLASTIC underneath it.

This is not what Nokia has tried to tell people. They say it is made from steel but they do not say that the front cover is only plastic with chrome on it. If it is revealed, 50% purchaser will choose something else.

Smart looking phone but touch it & it is a fingerprint magnet! Difficult to open flap when call comes in & I have nearly dropped it doing so many times. Beware chrome plating & paint wears quickly even when looked after every day like I did.

I eventually got fed up with it & sold it on as it kept freezing & restarting even after updating the firmware to the latest revision. Vodafone changed it whilst under 2 weeks old & then refused any more assist after the 6 week period had expired. Nice looking phone but not very friendly for everyday use.

On my 3rd N76 since June, the paint & chrome effect just peels away after a few weeks & is a known worldwide issue. Nokia's cure for this is for you to return to service for repair. Type N76 complaints or N76 chrome peeling into Google & see the results!

Phone looks good & I like the big screen & buttons, downside not so easy open & some software issues, freezing, etc & the bad quality of paint & chrome.

Hi all yourmobilephonereviews readers I think Nokia after establishing such a good name within the customer; making such copy cat cell, which is I feel not good.

My Opinion on N76:

Design: All the copy of Motorola RAZR series only. (100%: due to RAZR copy)

Features: Don't think; not more innovation than Motorola RAZR (50%: due to old RAZR series is not that feature buddy)

Usability: Can't say anything; as it is Nokia product I think it will be user friendly as always! (5%: AS I HAVE TO ENTER SOME VALU IN THIS FIELD FOR VALIDATION PURPOSE ONLY)

So if you are Nokia TYPE then go for it; Otherwise Go for Motorola RAZR2 V8 (coming soon) which I think great package.

Most exiting thing is TALK TIME the MOTO RAZR2 V8 provides with such a huge features which is 8.3 hours than Nokia N76's which is only 2.3 hours.

So consider Motorola RAZR2 V8 while you look to buy Nokia N76.

This phone is rubbish. When it came I thought wow, look at this it looks fantastic but as I started to piece the free memory card, sim & battery together I quickly became less convinced. The phone is like a brick it's big, & hard to get your hands around. Then I went to turn it on, OK it's got a nice quality speaker & screen but it doesn't make the Nokia menu any better. The buttons are hard to use & you'll constantly find yourself wiping it on your shirt or trousers to loose the finger prints. A bad phone, don't get it unless you just want to leave it on your desk & pose. Samsung U700 here I come.

I bought this phone on 12 months contract for £35 per month (500 min & 200 text). Am I happy with that? Well, it's about a week ago I got it & it's not as perfect as I was expecting. The down side of it is its keypad. Its flat & very sensitive, you got to be very careful otherwise you either push a key twice or you push the wrong key. Also its flap hasn't got a nice & easy grip to open, difficult to open with one hand, you got to use your both hands. Short-cut keys aren't as nice & easy access as previous models. The size wise, to be honest I got a bit disappointed when I hold it in my hand for the first time, although its a slick & thin handset, but its a bit big in terms of width & length, I found it taller than a usual phone. The worst thing about it is the cover & the mirror thing on the cover. It gets very dirty in no time. It shows off your finger prints, stains & dirt from miles away. I had to rub it on my jeans ten million times a day (I think it'd shrink & gets thinner in a month! )! It has a lot of features you'll never use or if you do it cost you an arm & a leg! Its music player is good, even better is that you can get a 2GB MiniSD Memory for £15 (from Amazon) & enjoy a big archive of your music tracks. Camera? It's good, you get a Flash which is handy for night photography & the quality is not bad! What else, Snake, It has a terrific design & graphic in this version. All in all, I give 7 out of 10 & the punch line is it wasn't what I was expecting & waiting for ages. Hope you liked my review.

Erm, one thing I would like to know, well two actually, firstly, in this description, it says it has a second camera, is that just for video calling or can it be used as a self portrait kind of thing? & secondly, my current Nokia lets you have a note on the standby screen, just wondered if this does.

Think this phone is brill but Vodafone online don't have it in the red/pink version, anyone Know if the stores do? If anyone has any idea at all then that'd be great! Thanks.
