WITHOUT DOUBT the BEST PHONE I HAVE EVER HAD the FORTUNE OF OWNING. BUT MY INDIAN CLASSMATE STOLE IT!

IT'S MANLY, BUT TILL TODAY I COULD NOT TAKE ANY VIDEO WITHOUT the FLASH LIGHT. IRRITATING ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU DON'T WANT TO LET PEOPLE KNOW.

IT'S the FASTEST AMONG ALL PHONES. BUT INSTEAD OF INCREASING the MEMORY OF IT'S PHONES (512MB TO 2GB IN N70, 4GB TO 8 GB IN N95), SHOULDN'T Nokia MAKE the PROCESSING SPEED PROPORTIONATE ALONG MEMORY. MAY BE I DON'T HAVE PATIENCE. I FEEL THIS BECAUSE EVERYBODY ASK the MAXIMUM EXPANDABLE MEMORY BUT I LOOK FOR HOW FAST IT CAN BE PROCESSED.

I like my Nokia N70 very much. With a 2GB Memory card I don't require another music player at all & the main thing is it's in a mobile. Wherever I go, I can hear to my favourite songs putting it in loud speaker.

& of course, it has a 2MP camera which is also good.

Overall a good phone.

I got this phone 2 months ago, poor battery life. I have to recharge battery daily. Music is not as good as Sony Ericsson, but sound is loud enough. Anyway the phone is slow. It takes 2 minutes to start up. Size is too big. Slider is difficult to manage. Always slides down so camera opens. The flash for video is very poor. Every time when we press music button, it loads full sound collection. It takes long time. Otherwise it's delay in processing.

This is & was a great phone. I say was because mine recently died on me. I am not saying it was the phones fault. I did put it through quite a bit. I had it for almost a year & can quite easily say that it was one of the best phones I have ever owned, Though I am still looking, nothing has beaten my old 3315. Yet.

Only a couple of gripes with it though.

- The slide cover on the back was horribly annoying, if it slid down & uncovered the camera whether in use or not it would remove the lock on the keypad so numbers could freely be pressed.

- It seemed to take a long time to do anything. A minute to boot up, 15 second to open a message, this seems a little wrong to me. A friend of mine updated the firmware & he said it fixed that problem, so I guess it isn't all bad.

I am quite surprised how many negative reviews there are for that nice looking phone. I am a N70 user for about 2 & a half years now & it has freezed only 2 or 3 times. I think that all of the guys that complaint that he phone freezes regularly either had the worn software installed, or just had a rubbish built phone.

As for the phone, yes, it is kind of slow, it boots for ages & have some minor bugs, but apart that it is a very classy & stylish phone with lots of extras, talking for its release date of course. What it lacks badly, the screen resolution is 176 x 208 & that spoils the overall image of the otherwise big screen.

However I am replacing that vet with a Nokia E51 & hope that it will run faster, won't have that sometimes annoying bugs & the screen image would be a much better experience.

I've been using the Nokia N70 Music Edition for a couple of months & I got to say that this phone is fantastic. Except that it's a bit too bulky. Besides that, the camera is decent & the music player is awesome as it's loud & clear. However, I have to agree with other reviewers that this phone is a bit slow.

Overall, it's a good phone considering that the price is not too expensive.

Worst phone I ever owned by far. Firstly it is unbelievably slow, it takes about 2 minutes just to turn it on & use. If you press e.g. Contacts there is a massive delay. If you want to view photos, forget it. The battery life terrible but that isn't because of processing power. Worst of all, I found out its not compatible with the factory Bluetooth on my car, you would think Nokia would make all their phones compatible with BMW Bluetooth, one of them is getting binned & it hasn't got wheels.

Don't buy this phone even from eBay! Unless it's below £20. It's useless. Fantastic idea, but the keys are too small & if you like waiting around then this phone might be for you. It takes about 10 seconds before you press your 1st key when you send a text message. It takes about 3 minutes to even switch on. Nasty!

Apart from that it's great to use & being a Nokia you can change fascias & download a ton of free games & software & Nokia gives you its mapping software for free, just add a gps receiver.

Well it was a nice phone until I sat on it & broke the screen.

Bad points.
- Rubbish case. It's too flimsy & cheap & they crack easily. I had to by four within 4months.
- the shutter on the camera is too wobbly & in the end it dropped off.
- It's a brick & the screen scratches too easily.
- When you put MP3 video & picture files on it. It freezes more.
- What's the point in having a camera on the front hardly anyone does video calling. I have the phone for a year & I only used it once.
- the zoom is slow & sensitive.
- Its sensitive because even just accidently sitting on it brakes the screen.

Good points.
- You have lots of memory on it because it's got a memory card slot which is good.
- the camera is good & the zoom may be slow & sensitive but it's great.
- It can multitask & you can watch TV which has BBC1, 2 & 3, Nickelodeon, MTV, comedy & so on but you can only watch it if you're on three.
- It's got MSN so you can send messages without paying.
- the speaker is loud but tinny.

Overall it's not a bad phone.

I have had this phone for 18 months. I have had no major problems with the handset although the battery life majorly depreciates by age, mine only lasts for two days maximum. The sliding camera cover is very bad design flaw, you have to place it in your pocket otherwise it will turn on the camera. The camera quality is quite good & the editing functions are great. It supports 3rd party Java & Symbian software, if you find sites to download off then just transfer. I would recommend if you were just to buy a second hand one, as it is reliable & well built phone.

Today is a wonderful day. The replacement for my N70 has arrived. I have never contributed to a review site on anything in my life before so to overcome inertia to warn those who remain unaware of the perils & frustrations of owning a Nokia N70 about this former bain of my life is an occasion of note & indeed some celebration. Reading the other reviews of the N70, it seems the issue is one of inconsistency in production quality, there are those that swear by it & there are those, like me, who swear at it. As a mature business user, I seldom get angry with inanimate objects & tend to feel pity for those that do. However, my hate hate relationship with my N70 has changed all that.

I am truly ashamed at my rants & raves at Orange, by whom I have been otherwise served magnificently since 1995, but this piece of devil machinery with its continual crashing & booting, up & down (no wonder the battery drains so quickly) has left me pleading with, simpering at, threatening & remonstrating with Orange Customer Advisers like some demented maniac. How can a mobile phone generate such intense emotions? Quite simply, I was used to phones that were reliable & served my not overly demanding needs as a business user. Sure, other phones have gone downhill but that was with constant use over time. My previous phones were like battered but loved toys that held a place in my affections until the time came, sadly, for them to be replaced.

However, the N70 was different from the start. I am not particularly technically minded but the alarm bells should have started to ring (even if the phone didn't) when my initial concerns over reliability were addressed in somewhat patronising tones with the comments that I needed to go slowly, this is a sophisticated piece of equipment & if that happens, just take the battery out the back & restart it.

I cannot now believe that for the last 8 months or so, that's the point at which I simply gave up fighting, I was completely & meekly resigned to taking the battery out & putting it back again in the middle of some important business conversations, it just became a fact of life & I simply redialled my client. I knew I was not alone when I saw others in the street executing the same manoeuvre, Ah, there's another N70 owner, I would observe sympathetically, sometimes nodding understandingly towards them.

I have lived through the experience & am probably stronger for it. There is just one slightly bitter aftertaste in my mouth, & it is this, every time I called Orange to complain about the phone & was told that I could not change the model (a replacement was OK, but I didn't want one), the Adviser, & therefore Orange, must have known that they had a dud product on their hands. Sadly, not once did they treat our relationship as a professional one & just admit that the phone was a mistake. I would have understood, even sympathised then they could have changed the phone & I would have continued to feel valued by Orange. Whilst I am still with them, I am no longer sure that the relationship was as it once was. How can I be sure ever again, despite the marketing to the contrary, that they have my interests at heart? Maybe I am just naive.

Now let me tell you how good my new Sony Ericsson is. It has.

I got it for the 3G coverage, & it was under £100 at the Vodafone shop. This is my third 3G phone, & like many 3G & smartphones, it's a bit of a brick, the keys are a bit fiddly, & its battery life diminishes quite a bit if you spend time listening to the radio or the MP3.

But I am not too fussed about that. I love this phone, despite all of its imperfections. I am not using it as a mobile office, I just use it for calls, texts, alarm clock, calendar, calculator, currency converter, the occasional glimpse of the footy results & so on. It's got a huge screen & clear numbers on the keys, which is good for visually impaired people like myself.

The sound quality is excellent. Too many modern phones are designed to be a fashion icon that will cook your dinner for you & run your life in general - this phone sacrifices fashion & gimmicks for (shock horror!) allowing you to hear the person you're phoning & allowing them to hear you without any crackle & hiss.

Like many phones, it's fragile. I don't know why people complain about phones being fragile; they never were intended to be dropped or accidentally disposed of down the toilet bowl. So don't drop it. Simple.

Well worth the investment.

This phone was great, at first glance! But it turned out to be awful! I have had it repaired 3 times in 6 months either because, it wouldn't turn on, wouldn't hold it's charge for more than an hour, camera wouldn't work, told me I had a text message & then wouldn't let me read it for about 2 days! They then sent me a replacement phone, I had it for a week before it turned itself off & would not turn back on! The keys are small & difficult to use, the layout of the keypad is impractical, it's also really bulky, too big to fit in your pocket! The only good thing about it was the features, the camera was great when it worked & it looked smart & sophisticated, could be a great phone if it was more reliable! I now have a Nokia 7373 & it is a great phone! Hasn't broken at all yet & everything works perfectly!

Stumbled across this site while trying to find out why I can't change screensavers on my N70! After paying bucket loads to purchase them they save to the phone as PICS & not SCREENSAVERS. Meaning that when you try to select your brand new $5 screensaver it isn't even there, instead it has saved 'automatically' to your picture inbox. No option to switch where it saves to & worst of all, once it's saved it becomes a stalled JPEG i.e. normal picture!

I was in love with my first N70 until one day it stopped ringing! Seriously the calls came in, the screen lit up, I could visually see someone was calling BUT no SOUND? Frustrating when working for a demolition company, as I missed 99% of my incoming calls. Unless I was physically looking at my phone, I missed them.

So I made an insurance claim on that one & $70 later I have a new & poorer quality N70. This one has all of the problems mentioned in the other reviews & rubbish 'Eukatel' screensaver that cannot be removed! I have no idea what country my phone has come from but suffice to say that we don't have that carrier here in AUSTRALIA! I HATE this phone & I am never buying a Nokia again. Poor customer support & NO updated information on the website. HORRIBLE PHONE - just happens to look good. DON'T BE FOOLED.

- Look is average.
- Body highly prone to scratches.
- The lens cover is not sturdy, it cracked in the first week.
- Good camera but would have been better if it had threads to fit a manually focusable optical lens assembly.
- Good music player.
- Audio clarity on speaker phone is good.
- Availability of an option to plug in any ear plug in the hand free is a good feature.
- Videos can't be viewed on landscape mode unlike in Sony Ericsson's, a small disappointment.
- Easy menu operation.
- Not many software available to make the phone a fun gadget.
- Good graphical transition motion in menu navigation which probably is the reason for slowness of the phone.
- Is worth buying if the offer price for brand new box is at 10,000Rs.
- Finally it is a gadget worth being among the collection of BOYS TOYS.

I've had my N70 for like, a month now. I think it's great, only that I can't accept the fact that its battery drains so fast, I have to charge it like, every half a day, when to think I don't take pictures that much, or send text messages for that matter. The pictures are nice though & the videos taken are spontaneous, not like the ones you get from the 7610, which I previously had. I also love its music feedback, the sound is crisp & clear, not like my previous 7610.

My sister also owns an N70, the only difference is that hers is China made, while mine's Finland. Her phone has this screensaver that shows the features of the phone & she has been trying to turn that screensaver off but she can't. She's been complaining about it because it leads her to think she's just received a new text message or something because the light suddenly lights up when the screensaver plays. Good thing mine's Finland made, it hasn't got any of those screensavers. I would have gone out in a rage too had I had one of those! Although, she has got a free 128MB memory card (inbox), while I had 64MB. By the way, the only drawback is that, Nokia phones here in the Philippines tend to depreciate so fast! Last week I checked its price was P15, 000 & just now it's suddenly gone down to P13, 000, in just a week's time!

Changed from 'traditional' Nokia to this one & I must admit I hated it to start with. Now I've got used to the features & operating system I think its spot on & don't want to change it.

I've put TomTom on with a Bluetooth gps receiver & it works really well. Occasionally have a problem with Bluetooth disconnecting but nothing I can't put up with.

I have a Bluetooth hands-free kit which connects at the same time as the GPS receiver so get nav directions over the speakers.

The camera is really good in daylight but in poor visibility the flash leaves a lot to be desired.

It's got everything I need in a small (ish) neat bundle, good phone, decent camera & so handy to have GPS.

I've just upgraded my tariff & I think I'll give the new phone to someone else in the family.
