I have used this phone for 2 years now & I realise I cannot be without it, besides all the latest models I have like the iphone 4, satio, samsung galaxy S. This is the best useable smartphone ever made, it has & can do everything although it is a little outdated now.
I just hope Nokia will make exactly the same model, but upgraded with today's standards, like 1 ghz processor, 1GB ram, OLED screen etc. The size is exactly right to use the phone when needed (especially travelling in foreign countries), they won't have to make it smaller, lighter & thinner.

This phone is awesome in looks & in functionality. It is not a fashion phone. It is good for those who like to have a palm top & phone in one. It is awesome but it is little heavy 210 grams.

Truly the best phone ever invented, (or should I say hand held PC!) this phone does everything, what a Laptop does, easy to use, with the added bonus of converting it into a SAT NAV system (using the built in GPS receiver) this phone will not disappoint, I got rid of my N95, due to this phones capabilities. It may cost a few quid more, but it's money well spent, as you will keep this phone for a long time! I use mine to watch movies, using the bigger better screen than the 9500, the MP3 player is great, along with the radio, & also the 3.2MP camera.
The only negative thing that I could remark about this phone, is that the earphone jack is 2.5mm, not the 3.5mm jack as the N95, however, I am being picky here, the plusses I could write about, but there wouldn't be enough room here!

I am using it since from past 5 months. Believe me, this phone is awesome, having everything one can think of. Battery life is superb, having every possible features. The only thing which I don't like about it is, it gets many scratches after sometime in inner screen.
But highly recommended to all.

Owned every communicator since they were first available, definitely the best of the bunch so far. You will need to spent time finding the software on the web if you need a more powerful tool & or to polish off the functionality.
I seem to remember someone asking how to delete Messages in bulk, just hold down the control key while using the directional pad to scroll through as many messages as you want to delete then hit the backspace key.

Well, no doubt its awesome pone, but when it comes to business, it was mandatory that it had the windows options just like 9300 had.
I.e browser open in new window with ctrl N, & all windows short keys, & fax etc.
Just for these options I am forced to carry my 9300 with me as well. Nokia should add new features just the way they did in e90, but eliminating features doesn't make sense.
Keep up the good work & add new features with the old :).

It's about as alluring as a house brick, but has massive functionality & has been very reliable for me over the 3 months I've had it. I find most functions a bit slow to get into (I want instant response! ) & the camera & video is anything but intuitive. However I do use it for emails & Internet when I am out & about & it doesn't let me down. With a 4Mb memory chip it's a pretty good MP3 too!

Great phone! I am using it since last April 2007. I think I don't have to always use my laptop as this phone can replace most of the function.
The features, I love the red colour as it's more suitable for a woman. I can't leave this phone in my daily life since I had it.
For Businesswoman & career woman, please buy this phone. It will help you a lot in your work & you wouldn't want to leave it after you start using it.

Had my E90 for 3 months now. Battery life is very good. I use mine a lot & I only have to charge it every 2 days. The Internet is very fast. I have some photos on it, but it is not really designed to be a camera phone. If you want Word or Excel documents it's great. Call quality is very good. If you want a business phone then this has it all. I especially like the active screen that can be customised for the applications that you use.

I have been using the device for the last 10 months & I can say that the phone is very good in respect of applications, design & clarity. However, the user interface is much difficult to get used to it, not like 9300 where the menu in all applications are user friendly & in line with the windows OS.
One major defect is to open multi pages file of TIF format as it only opens the first page which is disappointing for business especially if the file is attached to email message.
Moreover, I have contacted Nokia customer care in UAE & submitted the problem & after almost four months, I have not received any solution or favourable response or even a sign from the personnel that they understand the importance of the problem.

Does everything I want it to. Takes a bit of searching for good software but there is plenty out there. I now leave my laptop at home as I can email, read PDFs edit word, PPT, XLS, watch videos, listen to music, browse Internet, use remote desktop applications (including file upload & download to my desktop PC), weather reports, FTP, GPS with maps & guidance, VOIP calls etc. Simply too much to list. It's a great companion when you're stuck with a few hours to kill at the airport or in a hotel room on business.

Can Nokia please put it back the fax feature? I do not mind if I have to pay for it.

If you are a businessman, an Internet surfer or a multimedia lover, the E90 is absolutely the right device for you.
Do not listen to people used to the old Symbian 80 communicators that talk about leak of functionality. The E90 is obviously based in a much more flexible & advanced OS & can practically do anything you need. Full emailing features, wifi, document editors & readers, GPS. What else do you need? A faster processor? It's included, 128 Mb RAM, Up to 4 gig of memory through cards. Looks good & feels good. Is the fastest communicator I have ever used & the most powerful. Not to mention all the multimedia advantages like the 3.2 MP camera, stereo speakers etc.
Simply great!

Unlike the previous reviewers, I think this phone, although slightly limited in terms of office functions, is still a good edition to my mobile work equipment. I still believe that the windows mobile os's offer more functionality than the S60 os's, but then the s60 menus are more friendly, swings & round a bouts.

Nokia E90 is the best mobile I never had & the best mobile of all! I suggest you to buy it. It is like laptop. & I like its big size. It would be the best if it was touch screen & increase the camera from 3MP to 5MP or more than that. But finally is the best.
Reviewer: Cristian Racareanu - Bucharest, Romania

I don't wish to offend anyone. But I really don't know where everyone seems to find all the glowing praise for the E90. As far as I am concerned this is the BIGGEST SCAM I ever got myself into. No, I am not blaming anyone but myself (unusual, isn't it? ). I should have paid attention before disbursing a lot of hard-earned cash relying on just the Internet hype. I was looking for a Business phone to replace my aging 9300. (Expensive) surprise! The E90 is a pitiful failure in that respect!
The Nokia 9300 had a phone on the outer lid & a PDA inside, complete with a Desktop, File Manager, copy & paste in any & all of its functions, a document as well as phone numbers, any of the pieces of information in Contacts, etc, everything easy to find & move around according to one's needs.
That was an instrument one could do their work with. It had a pretty slow, weak processor, a lazy RealPlayer, & other slow or missing thingies, if we are to think of the more recent stuff & no trace of wireless. & I never missed as much as one of all those toys, except for maybe wireless access, because my phone is a working tool, not a toy.
With the E90 one has to undertake a genuine journey to get as little as a copy & paste operation! In fact, it's an outright rite of passage to just get to starting typing in one small unassuming text document! One has to go through some four or five operations, while in the 9300 there was one keyboard button that read Documents. Why on Earth is it so hard this time?
This is a disgrace & an involution, not an evolution! In a telephone that ostensibly targets the Business sector, someone decided to simply eliminate PDA type software altogether & undertook a pitiful & completely failed attempt to adapt N95 software to Office uses, I mean really, have they completely run out of specialists?
I wanted to give up on the 9300 because it was obsolete. I find that I have to keep it, because the E90 is completely ridiculous for someone who wants to use it as a tool to earn one's living!
In a Business phone I don't need Super Resolution 800×352, Super Bluetooth 2.0, Super Sound, Super 3G & the whole rest of the coloured glass beads for the primitive natives of the jungle, if I wanted toys I would have purchased a phone with toys, the kind people use who have nothing else to do than play with their phone!
Is this, I wonder, so difficult to understand for the new team, of course, excuse me, much smarter & more innovative of Nokia designers? Clearly they're no business persons, if they were successfully entrepreneurial they wouldn't be someone else's employees but I should at least not be charged for hard earned money for the pitiful toddles they have the nerve to call business phone software.
Would anyone like to buy an almost new E90? I'll let it go for half the price, even if I've only used it long enough to truly realise what it (DOESN'T) do. Otherwise it'll rot somewhere in my home because I can't seem to bring myself to throw 770 EUR into the garbage. Though I promise if I could get someone from Nokia's top management to watch I would do that too.

Always had Nokia Communicators since they first came out. My 9500 is falling apart, hinges & blank front screen. Also the TOMTOM Mobile 5 Sat Nav keeps freezing maps now & then. I need the E90 but how does Sat Nav function get activated, & is there addition costs involved? TOMTOM have just told me their system will not work on E90. I would appreciate a reply, thanks.

I have just bought E90 after having waited for the same for a while. Couple of my friends have it too & till now all is well.
There are some nagging Nokia problems & the blue-tooth is not exactly comfortable. I have a Jabra BT250v Bluetooth handset, but all of a sudden the phone has stopped communicating with/Via Bluetooth devices. The message I get is 'unable to Connect the device' even when the pairing is happening fine. I just can't solve this issue. Can someone help me.

This phone has problem the keypads are touching the LCD screen & scratching it. I used this phone for a month & you should see the screen it is all scratched.
Plus the phone is turning off by itself. Then second problem started the speaker went bad. Third problem the microphone stopped working that means you can't use the phone anymore. Thanks Nokia.

E90 is a superb communicator device, as well as a phone. All the applications work effortlessly. Synchronisation with MS Outlook is superb. Sound quality is good - on headset as well as on hands-free. Browsing speeds are excellent, & it is much better if you use the internal screen.
Only one flaw that I came across is that while using A2DP stereo Bluetooth headphones, the link with BT device gets cut for a second or half, & then again continues. This is very irritating & this happens at a distance of less than 30 centimetres, with absolutely no obstruction in between. I had SAME problem with N95 as well & Nokia service centre (Woodlands) person told me that this is a bug they have not been able to eliminate. Is E90 having same bug?
Another observation is that if you access Internet through the front panel (by pressing '0' for long), browsing is much faster. Why is this so? Another area which is difficult is management of songs. It is very clumsy. Best way to do this is to connect it to a PC (or laptop) & do this via the PC Suite.
Overall I am very happy to trade off N95 to E90. An excellent phone.

I had a Nokia 9500 for 2 years which I bought without contract. It was close to falling apart due to hinges breaking but I couldn't live without it. Now the next generation E90 has been introduced I can see that Nokia have listened to reviews & feedback regarding failings with the 9500/9300 & made significant improvements. The phone feels more solid & the hinges are great. Features & design are also better & I am already thinking of getting another as I have two phones & two separate SIMs, one UK & One Swiss. I'd never give 100% because there is always room for improvement, but this phone comes close to being the best Smartphone/Business mobile on the market. I also got my E90 for free because my average monthly bills are so high!

Looks like the best phone so far. Still, be careful, PDA incorporated features are below expectations; Nokia has no Windows operating system, hence you will be disappointed if trying to use copy/paste, forward message, or to chat by Messenger. Shame that it has no Fax option & touch screen!
If you are looking for mobile office device, inside that amount of money you can afford real PDA as a much better option. E90 if an excellent phone, but insufficient PDA.

I have had my e90 for over a month now an I am just so impressed. Have been a previous Sony fanatic (p910 & p990) & I am just blown out of the water with this device/laptop! The best things are: large screen huge! Internet b & G-very very fast in downloading pages & info. Sound quality is great also, found that the speaker is louder when face down the desk while working.
Draw backs. Size you get use to it's not a mobile phone per-say & not a pda also. Basically a mini laptop. Battery life is not great but spare batteries are cheap to carry an extra in the car. Touch screen of course this is must! Its heavy but built like a tank. & feel safer if it does drop. Forbid it happens at that price. Could use some extra themes to make it look nicer. But that will come! Nokia you have made a believer in me! The best phone I have ever seen!

A great mobile phone, my only problem is with "snooze" option, don't know why 'Symbian' doesn't have more option 4 "snooze"?! 5 min are not enough at all, anyone know how 2 expand the time 4 "snooze" to 15 min or 1 hour or even 1 day?

I own mocca for a week or so. Still surprised every morning it's there. Was lucky to get one on the Internet, it's not in shops yet here in Holland. But I got the Dutch English version. After I ordered it was immediately sold out on pdashop. I believe you can still order red ones. Phew. But it is as amazing as it looks. Wi-Fi & hsdpa (3, 5G) are amazingly fast, & compared to my previous N70 everything is fast. I use a 2 GB micro SD ultra II from scandisk & a stereo Bluetooth headset from Iqua with it. Both work great as well.
Screens are great, as is sound & options.
Few down points:
It's HEAVY. 210 grams is not something to underestimate holding to your ear for 10 minutes or so.
GPS works OK. Initial sat fix takes a bit of time. 2 minutes or so but becomes faster afterwards. I don't really like the pay for use system Nokia pre-installs for voice directions. Map navigation is free but I have seen better. I am going to buy route66 which latest version supports internal GPS.
If you have any questions let me know

I still have my 9500 communicator still sitting in my closet. The plastic cover is not strong & breaks easily. The phone freezes all time & you need to reset it by taking off battery & putting it back.
I hope these problems do not manifest itself in the new communicatior-90.

The E90 is simply too good to be true. A must have business phone. True integration of PDA & telephone, IPAQ, XDA's hold your breath. The Nokia E90 has taken it to a different level. Well done Nokia.

I have just picked up 2 of these phones, 1 red, 1 mocha, they're one of the best Nokia's I have ever had. The only draw back is the weight, get around that, its the best. The phones different things to different people.
Amazing gadget. Highly recommended.

The only weaknesses of the E90 are the low camera resolution, absence of a fax & the launching price. Other than that, this E90 has all what you have dreamt of.

I have been using the 9500 for about 3 years now & have been pleased with it, although not thrilled. The plastic clip & hinges are troublesome & the processor is slow. Loading applications is slow but once they are opened it was worth the wait. I could achieve everything I needed regarding documents, music playback, etc. The camera was good when I got it, but things change & 640 x 480 now looks pathetic.
How refreshing to see the review of the E90! Most of the negative points have been addressed & some new features added. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these little beauties. Does anyone have any idea of when they will be on sale & how much we can be expected to pay for one?

Well, before you decide to buy this expensive box, you should browse other phones like dopod, because I think they're offering same features with much powerful machine. Example dopod U1000 with 650Mhz Intel processor is way more advance than this little E90. What Nokia is offering from this phone is nothing more than prestige. So be wise before you look like 'dumb & dumber' with this E90.

This is a masterpiece in design & features. I am a lover of gadgets, especially mobile phones & I just can't wait to lay my hands on one. I used to have the Nokia 9500 which only lasted for a year & got damaged due to the very fragile plastic frame of the phone & could not be replaced due to discontinuity. I am currently using the Nokia N93 but when I read about the Nokia E90, it reminded me of my old communicator which has been improved upon significantly in terms of features & design, which should ultimately make it more durable. No other company does it better than Nokia, therefore if you want to be the best, why not go for the best It's simply a symbol of excellence.

Finally E90 in Russia, at central Nokia shop in Moscow they promise it in two weeks (mid June 2007).
There seem to be only two major problems with this gadget, short battery life, when traveling on business you risk to see your phone die in your hand before you have the next opportunity to load - pictures, Internet, GPS, music eat up energy; as alternative you have to limit the use down to minimum, this concerns me.
Usual dreadful Nokia case to carry the device, the plastic clip is so unreliable, the phone (E61 I have now or my friend's 9300) falls now & again down, especially when getting out of a car, but carrying the phone of this size in a pocket is not a way out. Is Nokia going to think of something better?

I just can't wait to get my hands on this lovely phone. I just used to love the 9300, but I just can't manage it with the touch screen as my thumbs are too big for dialing anything correctly. Waiting so eagerly to pick the first of the few as soon as its launched in Dubai.

It looks like a phone matching my needs, I am waiting for it, it is also stylish, with a very good features, cover many problems in the last communicator series, & it will be competitor to I-mate series, for those who love communicators but it was lacking I-mate features as I see their trend start to be very brandy. Good luck, I hope to have one as soon as it will be launch in Egypt market.

I think the E90 may even challenge Nokia's N95, I just don't know if I can't wait any longer for it. I have been following Nokia e90 website, who says the communicator will retail for over a $1000. Worth every penny!

Looks very nice, the updated S60 OS bring additional benefits over phones like the E61, including BT stereo, unified browser (i.e. not separate wap & html) & 330 MHz processor means you can actually watch vids too.
The HSDPA bit gives download speeds of up to 3.6mbps, great for those on Tmob data plan, & you can use this phone anywhere in the world.

I haven't seen the phone other than the Internet, but. As soon as I can I will be upgrading to this phone. It looks like it will be an awesome phone. I have a Nokia N93, & most people don't like it because it's big, but for me it's perfect. This phone is 14mm bigger & 8 mm less depth wise. I love the keypad on the N93 because the individual keys are bigger for fatter fingers. I am not sure from the photos of the E90, but it looks like the individual keys on the QWERTY keypad might be a bit on the small side, but I will tell when I actually get to see one in person.
I think this phone will be perfect for people like me that like gadgets & phones that do more than call & text. I like the extras, even if I don't use them.
